Pumpkin Seed Snack

It's me again sweeties. Just a quick follow up post to my last one. Rather than wasting the pumpkin seeds from my pumpkin that I carved in my previous post I decided to make them into a snack.

After rinsing off the pulp of the pumpkin from the seeds I dried them off on some kitchen towel. I then tossed them in some oil spray and sea salt. I sprayed a baking tray with a little more of the oil and spread the seeds evenly over the tray. I then baked them in the oven until they browned, turning them occasionally.  Some of the seeds burnt slightly, but I quite like that. They do taste really nice. If you try this cook until you are happy with the colour.

What recipes do you have for pumpkin seeds. Let me know in the comments below.

Pumpkin Playtime

Hi Beauties. It's nearly Monday already wow. Here is something that will hopefully brighten up my working week next week. I noticed that Morrisons are selling pumpkins very cheaply at the moment. I bought two for £1.00 each. The larger ones are £2.00 each. I bought two as I wanted one for work and one for at home. I asked my work colleagues if they wanted to get the smaller ones for our desks to see what designs people would come up with just for fun. So here are mine .....

I used nail polishes, glitters, glitter eyeliner, star stickers and nail art pens for this pumpkin.

With this pumpkin I just cut out the top with a sharp knife on a slant so the top doesn't fall in. I scooped out the insides & cut out the face. I lit a tea light candle inside.

I'm not sure which one I will take to work. Probably the glitter one as I can't light the candle at work.

Have you been creative with pumpkins or anything else for Halloween. If so, link your creations in the comments below.

NOTD: Sally Hansen Haute Chocolate

Hey loves. The weekend is here so make sure you have some fun. Are any of you going to Halloween events this weekend? Sadly I am not, but we are having people over tonight for food and laughs which should be great.

I have just painted my nails so I thought I would show you the colour.

I first applied one coat of my Alessandro Pro White as a base, followed by two coats of my Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure (630 Haute Chocolate). I received this polish in my October GlossyBox. I initially described this as a rose chocolate shimmer. There is definitely a bronze shade running through it and I think a little purple. The dipstick in me forgot that it's not meant to be necessary to apply this polish with a base or a top coat, whoops! I did seal the manicure with my nail spray although it probably wasn't needed.

I think this a very appropriate shade for this time of year. It would go with any outfit and would suit any age. This bottle will last quite a while as it's 14.7ml. The lid is a good size and shape to apply the polish easily. The brush fans out just enough to spread the polish evenly over the nail in two strokes rather than my usual three.

This product can be found here for £6.99 or here from $5.24.

Which are your favourite shades of polish for autumn? Which Sally Hansen shades are your favourites? Let me know in the comments below.

October 2012 GlossyBox: DIY Beauty

Hey Beauties. I received my October GlossyBox in the post. This month is Breast Cancer Awareness month and GlossyBox are supporting this worthy cause by donating to Breast Cancer Care. This month they have put together a box of pampering treats to create a 'home spa' experience. Perfect for a girls night in. So here is my box :)

Now the products .....

Left To Right:

Anatomicals Don't Just Clean It Woman, Scrub It Body Scrub, £3.49 for 200ml

Rub a dub dub, this is no po-faced scrub.

I am normally put off and bored by long titled products, but the wit behind this product name is amazing. I really like the scent of this pink grapefruit exfoliator. It has a gel consistency with quite small exfoliating particles. When I rub it into my hand it develops a slightly white appearance so I think it may foam up a bit when I use it.

Yves Rocher France Instant Anti-Wrinkle Moisturiser - Hydra Vegetal, £18.00 for 30ml

Targeted moisturising for wrinkle-prone areas. The Instant Anti-Wrinkle Moisturiser: - Provides deep and lasting moisture - Immediately smoothes wrinkles. Its plus factor: Enriched in Hyaluronic Acid for a greater efficacity! Formula tested under dermatological supervision. No animal ingredients.

I love trying out new moisturisers. This one claims to smooth wrinkles immediately. I will let you know if this improves my wrinkly appearance, ha ha. This has a clean, fresh scent to it.

Left To Right:

Skinetica Anti-Blemish, £6.99 for 100ml

A unique solution for clearing skin blemishes (acne, spots, pimples etc) showing results in 2-3 days. Skinetica has been dermatologically tested and proven to be kind to skin with no side effects. It is non greasy and contains no toxic chemicals. Skinetica soothes, calms and clears for a great complexion. Suitable for all skin types.

I get the odd few spots, especially at that time of the month, but I haven't ever had full on acne so I can't test this product for that purpose. I think it's great if this does show improvement in 2-3 days and if it has no side effects that's brill too. This product does not smell offensive in any way.

Green People Organic Self Tan, £18.95 for 200ml

A healthy, natural-looking tan, quick drying, non-greasy and no biscuit smell! Lightly scented with natural essential oils. Tan will develop after 3-4 hours. Re-apply every 3-5 days for maximum impact. To maintain the tan re-apply after 3 days.

This product is a white lotion that looks as though it will apply smoothly. I'm not a frequent self-tanner so I will need to see how I get on with this.

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure (630 Haute Chocolate), £6.99 for 14.7ml

5 Steps in 1 Bottle:

• Base Coat
• Strengthener
• Growth Treatment
• Color
• Top Coat

I can't wait to try this as if all I need is to apply 2 coats of this for the perfect manicure I'm sold. I would describe my shade as a rose chocolate shimmer.

So that's everything. I like this box. It leads me from taking care of my skin to being revealed as a bronzed, manicured goddess. Okay so I'm getting carried away, but that's how pampering is meant to make you feel right?

NOTD: Blue My Mind

Ello loves. I have had such a bad headache since last night, but writing for you always helps to take my mind away to better things :) The rain was so bad yesterday, but I had a fab day out in London with a gorgeous lady. You know who you are girl ;)

I painted my nails on Thursday night and I got complimented on them at the till in H&M while I was in London on Friday so I thought I should write a post as I do really love this nail shade.

I painted my nails with one coat of Alessandro Pro White as a base, followed by two coats of this amazingly blue nail colour. This is a H&M Nail Polish called Blue My Mind. I think I bought this last year. Although there does not appear to be this specific shade on their website here is a link to some other gorgeous nail shades that they have. This polish goes on so well. It is so opaque and this colour is such a true blue. The H&M nail polishes on their website are retailed at £2.99 each and I think that's such a bargain price.

What are your favourite blue nail shades? Are you a fan of H&M nail polishes?

Skirts To Tops

Hello Beauties. Have you all had a well rested lie in this Sunday morning? I do hope so. I had a really nice evening last night. My man invited his brother to dinner and he made us a curry. It was yummy and the wine helped it wash down nicely. We watched a film and had a good catch up with way too much ice-cream.

Today I want to talk about how irritating it is when you have items of clothing that you love, but you wish worked differently ........

I have had these tube skirts from Primark for quite some time and while I love how they look on and the range of colours they do have one let down to them. They ride up as I walk along and I hate that pulling the skirt down thing I think most females have had to endure at one time or another. Rather than letting these items go to waste I thought why not just wear them as tube tops so that's my plan. I am thinking I may need wear a stretchy belt around the waist to make sure they don't ride up, but that's better than not using them at all. So now I have five new tops to wear :) If you would like to see me wearing these in an OOTD/OOTN post just let me know.

What clothing items have you used in different ways than their original purpose? Let me know in the comments below.

Love to you all

NOTD: True Blood

Hi there my loves. I am so tired as I write this post because I got up early this morning to work some overtime. I hope you are all having a fab Saturday. Tonight my fella is making a curry which we will enjoy with his brother and girlfriend. There may be a spot of wine too ;)

Now on to the post which is a NOTD.

I firstly applied one coat of my Alessandro Pro White as a base, followed by two coats of this Sleek MakeUP Nailed Quick Drying Polish in the shade Royalty. I have named this NOTD True Blood as that's what I thought of when I applied this. It's quite a wine red. Very rich and dark. It applied very nicely, but as you may be able to see it chips quite easily. I applied this about two hours before bed last night (please excuse the smudge marks from the bed covers) after sealing it with a nail drying spray. It may hold up better with something like Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat. I think this vampy shade would be great for Halloween.

Sleek MakeUp no longer seem to have nail polish on their website, but I found this shade on Amazon along with many others for £3.89 each with free delivery to the UK.

What are you favourite deep, dark mysterious shades? Let me know in the comments below.

FOTN: Ardell Demi Wispies Review

Hi once again my cherubs. I hope you are having a fabulous Sunday. I was sent some Ardell Demi Wispies in Black for free to try out some time ago from Kilpatrick PR. I wanted to wait until I was going on a night out before using them as I am no expert at applying false lashes so if I actually got them to work I wanted to be able to show them off.

Photo taken after use. I apologise for this as in my excitement of trying them out I realised it would have probably been better for me to take the photo before use, whoops!

I am a bit of a nervous nelly when it comes to applying false lashes as I don't use them often enough too feel confident I suppose. The last time I tried was Xmas 2011 for a work do and lets just say it didn't go well. My eyes were streaming and they just wouldn't stick. It might have been the lash glue or the lashes I'm not sure, but I had to re-apply my whole make-up without lashes in 10 mins.

So now onto the review. I removed the lashes from the pack and placed them along my lash line to see if they were the correct width for my eye. They were fine, but had they been too wide I would have snipped them a bit from the inner corners to make them the correct size while keeping the sexy feline flick at the outer corners.

I then bent the ends inwards towards each other to help the band curve into more of an eye shape. This set came with lash adhesive so I squeezed some onto the cardboard packaging and used a cotton bud to apply it in a thin layer along the false lash line.

I waited for about 30 seconds and with my tweezers I maouvered them onto my natural lash line and pressed them against it with my tweezers gently to help them stick. I did get some glue on one of my eyelids, but this was easily removed by just peeling it off.

I applied my Ardell lashes before applying any other make-up so that if it was a disaster the rest of my make-up wouldn't be ruined. This was the best tip the lovely Celebrity Make-Up Artist Louise Page gave to me at the Speed Beauty Event. I think this took the panic out of applying them and so they were a success, thanks Louise :) I also went for a green smokey eye rather than black/grey to make the lashes stand out. Louise gave me the advice of not using too dark a colour so that the lashes would be emphasised rather than disguised. I went through the false and my natural lashes with mascara after applying the rest of my make-up to help them intertwine and look a bit more together.

I removed the lashes with a bit of moisturiser at the end of the night and peeled off the glue so that I can hopefully re-use them. I gave them a gentle wipe over with a face wipe also to get some of the mascara off.

I love the flick at the outer edge

They did seem to sit slightly lower on one eye than the other, but I think that may be just down to my eye shapes.

I look like I have just seen a ghost, ha ha

Here is a link to the Black Demi Wispies on the Ardell website, Link. My box says Natural Style, but most of the styles I found on boots.com, superdrug.com and onestopbeauty.co.uk say Fashion Lashes. Prices shown in links. If you know which ones are the same as mine please leave a link in a comment.

I had a fabulous night out with my friend. We had dinner and drinks, but it all went too quickly. We will just have to do it again soon I guess so that I can have another go applying some more falsies ;) I got complimented on my eyes when I was out too. We were in a pub and the person was drunk, but it still counts right, ha ha.

Many thanks to Kilpatrick PR for sending these to me to try out.

What are your favourite falsies? Any more tips for a newbie :)

Mixed Product Reviews #1

Hi Lovelies. I have been having a little think and rather than showing you all of my 'Empties' I am just going to show you the products that I haven't reviewed before otherwise I feel like I am boring you by showing you the same products again and again. So here are my reviews :)

Left To Right:

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser, Various prices in link

This product I received as part of a gift set from my boyfriend. It came with a muslin cloth that I intend to keep and re-use. The muslin cloth is washable. I have the pump bottle, but you can buy this in a tube form. The way to use this product is to massage one or two pumps over the face and neck. Then warm the muslin cloth in warm water, squeeze the excess water out and gently wipe over the face and neck. Repeat as necessary and follow with your usual skincare routine. This is said to 'swiftly remove all traces of face and eye make up, even stubborn mascara'. Now I would say this pretty much does that for me, but for some reason mascara is something really hard for me to remove no matter what I use. I do enjoy this product though and would certainly recommend it. The cream itself combined with the muslin cloth smooth over the skin nicely. When I first used this I was a bit scared as I thought the cloth might be too abrasive for my skin, but I use it every day which is something I would never do with the usual facial exfoliators as my skin just can't take it. My skin does feel very refreshed and clean using this product so if you are on the lookout for a great cleanser/make-up remover check this out.

Rodial Glamoxy Snake Serum, £127.00 for 25ml

I received this product in my September GlossyBox. This felt like a nice serum to use, but I did not notice the 'freeze-like effect' that this product claims. I really didn't want to look like I had had a surgical procedure so I was quite relieved, but I think this product does not justify the price at all.

Yon-Ka Pamplemousse Protective and Vitalizing Cream Normal to Oily Skin, $38.75 for 1.7oz

I received this product in my June JolieBox. This is meant for normal to oily skin whereas mine is dry, but it did work fine. It has quite a zesty scent to it.

Pure Revitalising Daily Moisturiser, £1.00 for 200ml

I have used this for a while. It's cheap and cheerful and does a good enough job for £1.00. I have used this as a body moisturiser also when I ran out. It has a nice creamy scent.

Left To Right:

Sure Women Long Lasting Protection Clear Aqua Crystal 48 Hour Active Anti-Perspirant,
£1.29 for 150ml

I bought this at my local Tesco garage when I ran out of anti-perspirant, but it's actually quite nice. I would have preferred the can to have more feminine colours, but the scent of this product is feminine. I can not comment on the 48 Hour claim as I wash before 48 hours is up, ha ha.

Pink Disposable Razor, 99p for loads at 99p Stores

I bought this razor as part of a pack of about 30 which I thought for 99p I should give a try. Let me tell you that this was just awful. I am always up for a bargain, but this thing was beyond useless. I went over and over and over my legs with this thing. I felt like I was wasting my time and I pretty much was. This barely removed any hairs. It's pink, but that's all I like about it.

Blue Disposable Razor, Price unknown

I picked these up almost straight after trying the pink razor above. I got this blue razor as part of a pack of about 4-6 razors from the Co-Op. I think these were about £7.00 for the pack. There were no razors that looked like women's in there so I think this is meant for a man, but it actually works really well. The head pivots slightly to manoeuvre around the contours of your body easily. Are men's razors better perhaps?

Macleans Ice Whitening Gel Toothpaste, £2.13 for 100ml

This was a refreshing toothpaste, but I didn't notice the whitening effects and I hate screw tops.

Hello Kitty Bubble Gum Mouthwash, 90p for 237ml

I love this product. My Mum bought this for me and I just love using it. It does taste like bubble gum, it's pink, it's Hello Kitty, it makes me feel like a child. WIN, WIN, WIN :) I picked up another bottle yesterday. This is sugar and alcohol free.

Left To Right:

Soap & Glory Clean On Me Creamy Moisture Shower Gel,
£5.50 for 500ml

In the link above it's shown as a clarifying rather than moisture shower gel. It looks like the same product, but please let me know if you know different. I received this as part of a gift set for Xmas. I really like pump design. It's especially handy in the shower. It has that classic soap and glory creamy scent. You can find this in various links on Ebay in travel sizes too.

Roger & Gallet Fleur d'Osmanthus Foaming Shower Honey, £9.99 for 250ml

This was given to me for free when I attended the Roger & Gallet Blogger Evening. This is a very fresh and comforting scent. It feels lovely on the skin. I did get through this really quickly though, but I do apply wash products quite liberally.

Roger & Gallet Bois D'Orange Refreshing Fragrant Bath & Shower Gel, $23.00 for 8.4oz or £10.80 for 250ml

This was given to me for free at the same event mentioned above. This is really nice and citrusy. It feels nice on the skin, but again I seemed to get through it very quickly. I tried this in both the shower and bath.

Champneys Moisture Miracle Skin Comforting Bath Milk, £8.00 for 300ml

The bottle looks different in the link above, but I believe it to be the same product. This was given to me by a friend. This has that really baby soft, creamy feel and scent to it. Just lovely.

Left To Right:

Guess Seductive Body Cream, £14.30 for 200ml or £20.80 with a 30ml EDT

I bought this for myself ages ago along with the EDT that I am still using. I purchased my gift set from asos in the January sales. I love this scent. It's sexy and seductive without being in your face. It was a nice cream too.

Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter Body Lotion, £10.00 for 500ml or 16.2oz or $20.00

This I received as part of the same gift set that the shower gel mentioned above was in last Xmas. I have used the body butter version of this and they both have that adorable, classic Soap & Glory scent. I prefer the lotion as it I find it much nicer to use this pump design rather than digging my finger nails into a tub of product. The only bad thing is when it neared the end I had to use the pump to scoop it out as the pump wasn't picking up the product.

Pure Fiji Exotic Bath and Body Oil, £24.50 for 236ml or $19.95

I received this product in my April JolieBox. I'm not a massive fan of oils on the body usually, but I do love a good back massage and so I would get my fella to use this on me for that purpose (minds out of the gutter people)! I adore the scent of this and I think my fella does too. It is a holiday in a bottle.

Roger & Gallet Bois D'Orange Moisturizing Refreshing Fragrant Body Lotion, £11.50 for 200ml or $24.90

I received this product for free at the Roger & Gallet Blogger Evening. This was a lovely cream to use and has the same scent as the Bath & Shower Gel mentioned above. I can't believe how quickly I used up these Roger & Gallet products.

Left To Right:

Morrisons Approx 200 Cotton Buds, Price unknown

I'm sorry I can't remember how much these were, but they were really cheap. I'm always a bit wary of using cheap cotton buds in my ears in case the bud comes off. It has happened to me once and it freaked me out. These however were fine for that purpose and for make-up touch ups.

Primark Beauty Nail Polish Remover Wipes (25 Pads), £1.00 for 3 tubs I think?

I received these for Xmas and I think they came in a pack of three tubs. They do a pretty good job of removing the average nail polish, but they don't do so well with glitter. I'm not much of a fan of how oily they are. The pads are quite thin though and easy to fold which is good for cleaning up the edges after painting on my manicure.

Barry M Nail Paint 244 Holograms, £2.75 for 10ml

I have had this nail paint for a long, long time and alas I went to use it the other day and it's all dried up :( I love the multi-coloured hexograms in this product. They are perfect to add sparkle to any nail colour.

So that's the lot. I hope you prefer me showing you only products you haven't seen on my blog before in my monthly reviews. As you can see there are still plenty of products to show you.

What have you loved and loathed of late? Let me know in the comments below.

Love to you all

NOTD: Claire's Pumpkin Shade Nail Polish

Hey Everyone. I hope you are enjoying your weekend so far. I painted my nails quite late last night. I didn't take any photos until today so that I could get good lighting. This is the shade I am wearing.

I applied one coat of my Alessandro Pro White as a base, followed by two coats of this Claire's Nail Polish. I'm really sorry that I don't know what this shade is called. It says on the bottom that it's BATCH PS1229. I tried finding this on the Claire's website, but I couldn't find it. I do remember it was very cheap when I purchased it. Only a about £2-3 I think. The reason I picked this shade is that with Halloween approaching I wanted a nail shade representing that of a pumpkin. If you want to celebrate Halloween on your nails, but you are not really into nail art then just pick a shade that you associate with it. This shade I would describe as a golden orange. It's very rich and I think it looks a bit more glossy than shimmery. I sprayed my nails with a nail drying spray to set the look.

What nail shades do you think are great to wear at Halloween time? Share them in the comments below.

Love to you all
