FOTN: New Year's Eve & StarGazer Lashes Review

Hi my special Beauty Addicts and Happy New Year's Eve! Today I wanted to show you a look I have created that could be worn on New Year's Eve or on any night out really. This look also includes a review of some false lashes that were sent to me for free. Here is the look I created :)

Now let me talk about these false lashes that were sent to me by the lovely Kat at Touch Media. These are the StarGazer Feathered Eye Lash 40. They are described as feathered I guess because they have longer lashes on the band with shorter ones in between. I love the little berries (or at least that's what I call them) that are edged along some of the tips. I applied these before doing any of my make-up because I am no pro at applying false lashes as you can probably tell. These were a little long in width for my eyes so I trimmed a couple of berries width from the inner part of each lash before application. These came with their own glue. It looks almost iridescent blue, but dries clear. It's kind of gooey. I used a cotton bud to apply it along the band and tweezers to place the lashes onto the eyes. These were very fiddly let me tell you, but I do like the overall effect. They are very, very long and touch my brow bone if I open my eyes wide. Because they remind me of berries I think they are perfect for the winter months. I wanted the lashes to be the main feature of this look so I kept the rest of the make-up fairly neutral with a toned down lip and a fairly light smokey eye. I think the headband worn hippy style adds to the New Years Eve feel as it adds that touch of glam with a natural wave to the hair. If I applied these again I would probably use some black liquid liner to cover the glue as it shows up a bit. You can buy these fun and flirty lashes for £4.00 here.

Thank you for my lovely presents :)

Hi there Beauty Addicts. I have finally found some time today to sit down and fully appreciate my Christmas presents. We were so busy over Christmas like most people, but it was so worth it as we got to spend time with the people we love. If like me you like to have a little nosey at the gifts that people receive for Christmas then here are the photos of mine and our very first Christmas tree in our new home :)

Presents from friends

Presents from my Fella's family

Presents from Mum. The pink candles may have been from a friend, but I can't remember, whoops!

A joint present to us both from my fella's Mum. His Dad gave us money too.

My fella bought me this. I received a sample of this in my May GlossyBox and promised myself to keep it in mind for my man to buy it for me for Xmas. I'm so happy :) We usually buy each other lots and lots of presents, but we are buying a sofa for hour new home so we said that would be our huge present to each other.

I love all of my presents of course. There is honestly not one that I don't like, but I couldn't help prancing around in my living with these studded beauties on while taking my photos. I feel like Lady Ga Ga in them. They are so cool and comfy too.

Tree & Base ~ B&Q

Lights ~ From a friend

Gold Chain & Red Glitter Snowflakes ~ HomeBase

Gold/Bronze Baubles ~ House Of Fraser

Star Tree Topper & Thread For Snowflakes ~ Hobby Craft

Thank you so much to everyone for all of my gifts. I appreciate every single one. I hope all of you got everything you could possibly wish for and more, including some special time with the ones you love.

Let's hope the New Year brings each and every one of you luck, love and happiness.

Did you get all you hoped for this Christmas? Why not share your cherished gifts in the comments below.

NOTD: StarGazer 159 Nail Polish

Hi Beauty Addicts. I hope you had a great Xmas and Boxing Day. We spent the first part of Xmas Day with my Mum and then we went to visit me fella's Mum, his two brother's and one of their girlfriends. It was a great day, but as usual it went so fast. On Boxing Day we visited my fella's Dad and family. It was another fun filled day. I can't believe I am almost at the end of my first week off :( We are having a few people over for a visit at some point tomorrow as well I think. Have you been busy this festive season? What have you been up to? I will now move on to today's post which is a NOTD.

I painted this manicure on Xmas Eve evening (Monday) and I think it has lasted pretty well as it is now Thursday. I did take photos on Xmas morning, but they did not turn out that well so I took them again tonight.

I applied one coat of my Alessandro Pro White as a base, followed by two coats of this StarGazer Nail Polish in 159. I finished off the manicure with one coat of my Nails Inc. Kensington Caviar Top Coat.

The StarGazer shade is a quite pale green with just a hint of shimmer that gives more of a sheen to the nails than an obvious glitter effect. I haven't seen any nail shades like this. Most greens I find are either a very deep forest green or a very pale, opal mint. This cheapest I could find this shade online for is £1.16.

What are your favourite StarGazer products? Do you have any favourite green nail shades? Let me know in the comments below.

Love to you all

Merry Christmas & Thank You

Hi all you gorgeous Beauty Addicts. This is going to be the shortest post ever as it's just gone 6.30am on Xmas Day and I can't sleep. It's okay though because I can see presents so Santa has already been ;) I just wanted to pop on and say I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas. I hope you get everything you are wishing for, but more importantly I hope you all have a lovely time with family and friends. I have lots of people to see over the next few days, but I will try to post later in the week. Thanks for your support by reading and commenting on my blog over the past year. Keep in touch!

Love to you all and Happy Christmas

Creative Festive Window For Next Competition

Hi all you Beauty Addicts. I thought I would let you know about a competition that if you enter gives you the chance to win £500 of Next vouchers. The idea is to put together an imaginative festive display for a shop window from Next products, showing off your creative flair with pictures, style notes and links to make your blog post as creative and original as you like.  When your post is live, just pop a link to it in the comments box on the announcement post http://www.feelingstylish.co.uk/next-festive-competition/ for your chance to win!

All rules and regulations are in the link above.

Here is my entry :)

Left Side Of Window:

With this look I wanted to create an outfit that is wearable yet glam. I think this would look great at Xmas and on New Year's Eve. The dress is sparkly and perfect for this time of year, especially with it being an autumnal berry shade. The sleeves give a bit of coverage for those worried about uncovering their arms. The material looks as though it will fall nicely over curves. The expander bracelet is able to fit various wrist sizes. The heels give the outfit a real sexiness, but if these are too high for you then swap for a more modest heel.

Centre Of Window:

I think these earrings are easy to throw on with many outfits even after the festive season for day or night. They will accentuate facial features and add a hint of interest to the hair if worn down. The dress is more casual than the one above, but because it has the sequins it still has that touch of Xmas about it while leaving room for comfort with that Xmas dinner. The ankle boots add a utility/military edge to the outfit. You could also add cotton or leather leggings under this dress for a more jumper dress feel.

Right Side Of Window:

This outfit I think would work well for a work Xmas lunch/drinks. It's sophisticated without being boring. The dress and shoes are very feminine while the clutch with the stud detailing gives it a very current and on trend feel.

I would decorate the window with a few of each of these Christmas accessories.

So that's it folks. I hope you like it. Get creative and have a go at designing your own. Entries must be put forward by tomorrow, 21st December though so hurry and good luck!

Love to you all
