Favourites: 2013 Lip Glosses & Lipsticks

Hi my lovelies. I hope you are all super fab today. You are closer to the weekend now so just keep going. For you I have a wee post on my favourite 2013 lip products. So without further ado these were my most used in 2013.

As you can see I am a massive fan of the NYX Mega Shine Lip Glosses. I have swatches of these shades and many others in this post! I am not sure if all the NYX Mega Shine Lip Glosses smell the same, but these ones certainly smell like cherries which I really like. The colour you see in the tube is the colour you truly get with these. They feel really nice on the lips and have a cute bow on top of the black lids. NYX is a brand which I always think of as a favourite in general. I would totally recommend these to lip gloss lovers. 

Dolly Pink is a very bold barbie pink. 

Perfect Red is exactly that. Bold and sultry for va va voom lips.

Nude Pink is a milky cool toned peach.

Beige is not beige at all. Every time this product is mentioned on blogs and by YouTuber's the same thing is said. It's a very natural lip colour. A subtle rose pink.

The Fearne Cotton lip gloss came in a set which you may be able to find on Ebay or Amazon, but as it was a 2011 Xmas gift that may not be possible sorry. I hate showing products that you may not be able to get hold of, but it was a favourite last year. The shade is not named or numbered, but I described it as a pinky brown in this post where you can find all of my Fearne Cotton lip and nail product swatches.

This is a very easy to wear pale peach nude. I think it would suit most complexions as it is so light. You can find swatches of my Natural Collection lipsticks here. These lipsticks are available at Boots. The site seems to be down at the moment so I can't tell you their price, but I think they are around £1.99.

You can find a swatch of this shade and many others in this haul post. I picked up this lipstick at IMATS some time ago, but I have purchased many NYX products from cherryculture.com too. I would definitely say if the shipping works out to be worth it for you and you want to find lots of make-up brands at very affordable prices then you should check out this site. There are brands such as Jordana and Milani on their too which we don't really see in the UK. This NYX shade I described as a very punchy red. The NYX Round Lipsticks feel so buttery on the lips.

So these were my most worn lip products of 2013, but believe me I have used many different brands and shades throughout the year. I would also recommend checking out the MUA range at Superdrug for very affordable lipsticks at just £1.00 each. I for one want to check out their new matte lipstick line. Glam Bunny FOTD: Featuring StarGazer Eye Tattoos

Hiya Everyone. Happy Easter Sunday to you. I hope are enjoying the weekend so far. Today I have some interesting eye products to show you that were sent to me for free to review by Kat from Touch Media.

StarGazer Sexy Eyes Temporary Eye Tattoos in Left: Flourish & Right: Flames

I have been meaning to try out some eye tattoos as I was intrigued to see how well they work. They bring so much drama to the eyes so they seemed right up my street.

These looked a bit large for my eyes and I thought they might be a little fiddly to apply so I just used part of one set. I used the smaller section from the set Flames on the right to add a firey wing to my eyes.

My skin was clean. Free from oils and make-up. Make sure that yours is the same when applying these or they may not adhere to the skin properly.

I cut around the design carefully with some small, sharp scissors cutting off as much excess as possible so that they would be easier to apply. 

I removed the clear protector and placed the design facing downwards against where I wanted it on my eye.

With a damp cloth I pressed firmly against the tattoo ensuring it had wet through the whole design.

I could see the paper sliding away and some of the design appearing on my skin. I was worried that I may break or smudge the design so after about 30 seconds I removed the paper gently.

I used the damp cloth to gently press against the tattoo to make sure it sat nicely on the skin.

I have to say it came out perfectly with no smudging or splits in the design. I then applied the other eye tattoo in the same way, trying to match it at the same angle as the other eye, but in reverse.

I then applied my make-up being careful to use smaller brushes around the eye area.

I wanted the tattoos to be the main focus of the make-up and so I made the rest of the make-up quite simple. I went over the whole of the eyes with a cream shade, using a small angle brush around the tattoos. I used a black shade to define the crease and line the eyes so that the tattoos would join to it nicely. I went over the tattoos with this black shade just a little to deepen it a bit more and so it matched the eye lining. I did not apply any product other than clear mascara to my brows to keep the eye tattoos the focus.

The tattoos were removed easily with make-up remover on a cotton pad pressed against the eye for about 10 seconds. You can also use baby oil, but be careful not to get it in your eyes.

I like to blog while wearing the make-up look I am writing about and while doing so I wear my glasses. To show you these tattoos also look great with glasses I just had to show you this photo.

These come in 6 designs at £4.00 per set, Link. They all look great. I would like to try the design Four Eyeliners. I think you could cut that one also to use with one or two flicks at a time if like me you have smaller eyes.

NOTD: To Have A Heart

Hi Everyone. It has turned out to be such a beautiful day. I hope you are all enjoying it. I have been out and about, but now I am just sitting down to watch Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Johnny Depp does make me laugh in this version. So now on to today's NOTD post.

I first applied one coat of my Rimmel base coat followed by two coats of this Fearne Midnight Manicure polish. This is a black shade, but it does not actually have a name/number. I swatched this previously in this post here. This polish covers well with two coats. It's not the blackest black, but it is still a good base for nail art. I think this nail polish set was only available at Xmas as I received it as a present.

Then I drew a heart onto the same finger of each hand and stippled some dots around each one using my StarGazer Nail Art Pen in White. This is available in the link here for £3.00. I love these nail art pens as you can unscrew them to use them as a striper too.

I sometimes prefer to just have one feature nail on each hand rather than each nail decorated.

My Make-up & Storage

Hello Darlings. It's Saturday and I'm up early because my boyfriend had to get up to go to work so I thought I'd write this post. I have been off work this week and have managed to get a few things done including writing some posts and sorting through my things at home. I do love a good clear out as it makes me feel refreshed. I have been wanting to purchase some storage for my make-up for some time from Muji. You know the acrylic storage that so many of you lovely gals have. It looks great, keeps everything neat and tidy and is so good because you can see where everything is easily. Because of Xmas and having so many birthdays to buy for lately I have been holding off, but for now I thought why not make use of what I have. This is what I came up with.

I have made good use of my beauty boxes that I purchased from GlossyBox, Feelunique and Boudoir Prive/JolieBox. I think they look cute. I had to label them as I can not see what products are inside. That's why I need the Muji storage. The heart gem stickers are from Poundland. I wanted to make the boxes look a bit more girly and to make the label stickers look less boring. I have used a couple of glasses that we had in the kitchen to store make-up brushes and tattoo pens. I have my E.L.F. Studio Daily Brush Cleaner next to my make-up brushes to encourage me to keep them clean. I used my E.L.F. Studio Brush Shampoo to clean my make-up brushes a couple of days ago. I keep that in my bathroom. I have made use of the the box that my Fearne Perfect Polish collection came in. Please see my post including that collection here :) I needed a separate storage for these pigments because some of the ones I have are a bit messy when you open them as they escape from the containers. It's handy that it's partly transparent on top so I can see the products more easily and it has a pull out drawer just like the feelunique beauty boxes. This Baylis & Harding storage is great. I ran out of beauty boxes so I used some containers that I bought from Poundland. I got 8 tubs in a pack for £1.00. These are great because they are so cheap, but when you keep opening and closing them they do have a tendency to crack. To write on the boxes and tubs I have used Sharpie pens. I bought these ages ago. I think they were from Poundland too. I used the same Poundland heart gems that I used to decorate my beauty boxes. My glitter body art kit is shown here. I have never used it since I picked it up last year at Olympia Beauty (shame on me). I will definitely use it in some fun make-up looks this year. The vanity case includes Strictly Come Dancing make-up. My Mum bought me this set for my birthday in 2011. I love the sparkle on it.

I am really bad at making use of all my make-up palettes as I had them in a Soap & Glory 'hat style' box. I like that they are out on display now. I have a small fridge in my bedroom that my boyfriend bought for me years ago one Xmas. I keep drinks in it. This is what my make-up palettes are on top of.

These are my make-up brush cases/rolls. They are very handy for me as I travel between my house, my boyfriend's house and work all the time. The one on the left was from Asda about a year ago and the one on the right is a Hello Kitty Liberty set that I received as a gift for Xmas. Please see that post here :)

This is my Asda roll. I have a mixture of make-up brushes here from E.L.F., a Strictly Come Dancing Set, JolieBox, Crown Brush, No7, Royal & Langnickel and the rest came with the make-up roll itself from Asda.

This is my Hello Kitty Liberty make-up brush set.

I have just thrown away my make-up bag as it was getting too dirty and I wanted a bigger bag as I use more make-up products daily now. My old make-up bag was really good as it was clear so when you wanted to grab for a product you could see where it was in the bag rather then scrambling through lots of products. It was just a bag that I received as part of a gift toiletry set for either a birthday or a Xmas? This Hello Kitty Liberty bag I received as part of a gift set this Xmas which is shown in the same link above as the Hello Kitty Liberty Make-up brushes. These are the make-up products that I have with me today. I do have some products which I use every day, but there are some that I change over a lot as I get bored so easily and I like to experiment with different looks.

This is the Primark make-up/toiletry bag that I picked up recently and posted about in my January 2012 Sales Haul here. To make my life easier to carry all of these bits around I have put everything shown above in this to keep it all together.

I was thinking of going to Imats London on Sunday 5th February and it's still playing on my mind, but with the amount of make-up that I have I am trying to be a good girl and not buy any more for now. Also the ticket is £45.00. By the time I pay for my train ticket and food/drink on the day it works out pretty expensive. Obviously it's great for discounts though. I went to Imats London in 2011 and I loved it. I would recommend going if you are a make-up lover. 

I hope this post has given you some ideas for storing your make-up and making use of things you may already have. Fearne Cotton Nail Polish (NOTD) & Lip Gloss Collections

Hey my loves. I hope you are all having a good day so far. I am so happy today as I have now reached 100 followers (or as I like to call you loyal readers) on my blog through Google Friend Connect & Bloglovin'. It brought a little smile to my face this morning. Thank you so much for sticking with me and if you are new to my blog welcome. For those of you that don't already know Bloglovin' is free and you can opt to have an email sent to your inbox whenever I add a new post :) I won't bore you with any more of that so on to today's post. I was asked to swatch the Fearne Cotton nail polishes that I received in my post My Xmas Presents: Part 2

Fearne Perfect Polish Collection

These polishes are not named/numbered individually. I applied two coats for each of these swatches. Two coats are definitely necessary, but a good amount comes out on the brush when applying. The purple shade (2nd from left) is a matte polish. These all dried very quickly. I love the pale pink and the emerald green from this collection.

Fearne Midnight Manicure Collection

Again these are not named/numbered individually. They dried really quickly as the first collection did. The silver shade I applied the other day and I love it. I haven't used the Barry M Instant Nail Effects - Foil Nail Paints, but this looks very similar to me. I like this whole collection. It has a much darker mood than the more feminine, lighter Fearne Perfect Polish Collection. Both I really love though. The bottles look really pretty and are easy to use.

I applied this polish on Friday and this photo has been taken today (Monday) so it's lasting well and not looking too bad I think. I do have Seche Vite top coat on here though. You can get away with one coat of this shade if you apply it thickly enough.

Fearne Glossy Lips Collection (I don't have the box anymore)

As I showed you the nail polishes I thought I may as well show you swatches of the lip glosses too. These yet again are not named/numbered individually. I love the animal/flower print design.

This looks a little more pink on the lips than the red shade it appears in the tube

I like this pink brown shade. I have lots of pale lipsticks I think this will look great over

This is a really nice clear gloss with great shimmer. It's not too much sparkle, but you can definitely see it. It's nice on it's own, but would look great over any lipstick

This is a coral pink shade with shimmer. Very easy to wear

All of these lip glosses feel moisturising, almost balmy. The shimmer particles in the last two do not feel gritty on the lips.

I know all of these sets were available at Boots Pharmacy at Xmas time. I do not want to check if they are still as they were Xmas gifts and so I don't want to know the prices. If you do find these sets in a Boots Pharmacy near you though I would recommend them.
