LIMITED EDITION KAREN MILLEN LONDON SKYLINE GLOSSYBOX

Hi beauties. I hope you are having a great Sunday so far. I recently received my limited edition Karen Millen London Skyline GlossyBox which is a beautiful design. So here are my first impressions.

This product contains hair-like particles to give the appearance of fuller, thicker looking brows with it's quick dry gel formula. Remove excess from the brush and apply in short upward strokes. Use the tip to mould into shape. Dries to a natural finish in 60 seconds. Also available in a light/medium shade.

I haven't opened this yet as I am near to finishing off another product for my brows and don't want this to dry out. I have never used a product with hair-like fibres on my brows so this will be interesting to try. Apparantly Binky Felstead from Made In Chelsea is a fan.

A lightweight oil to pamper and care for all hair types. Leaving hair shiny, nourished and supple. Apply before blow drying to sections of the hair avoiding the roots.

I like the scent of this product. It feels really nice rubbing it into my hands so I am sure it will feel just as nourishing on my hair. This bottle came with a pump dispenser.

A gently exfoliating product to target dark spots, soften and brighten the skin. Apply a small amount to a damp face, neck or body. Massage in for 1-2 minutes. Leave on for another 1-2 minutes then rinse off. Use up to twice a week.

There are 2 samples of this in my GlossyBox so I guess enough for two uses. I have never used a peel only regular exfoliating products to remove dead skin cells and dirt so I will hopefully see even better results.

With anti-oxidant ingredients to boost collagen in the delicate under eye area. Hydrating dry areas by restoring lost moisture and activating blood circulation. Apply a small amount under the eyes. Gently massage around the orbital bone with the applicator until eye bags and puffiness are reduced in under 3 minutes. Can be refrigerated for a cooling effect. Apply day and night to reduce the appearance of bags, dark eye circles and improve skin tone.

There was no applicator with this product so I will just use my fingers. Hopefully this will work well as a part of my skincare regime.

Paint one coat on for a smooth matte finish.

I like how the bottle has a matte almost frosted look to match it's description. The lid on my bottle seems to stick out a little at the bottom edge as if it's a bit too big. Usually my Nails Inc. polishes have been flush with the line of the bottle. The lid also feels a little more cheaply made and is slightly chipped on the edge which is not good for a polish that costs £12.00. Other than these packaging flaws I hope the matte effect works well on top of my nail polishes.

A cocktail of 20 anti-aging power plants for younger looking skin. In just 2 weeks the product is meant to reduce lines and wrinkles. With continued use it will help to lift, plump up and firm the skin. Apply AM and PM to cleansed skin.

This sounds great so lets hope it works. I have never tried any Origins products so I am glad to be able to sample this brand.

GLOSSYBOX: SUMMER BEAUTY EDIT WITH SUPERDRUG

Hi lovelies and happy summery Sunday. It's just so beautiful outside that it's almost tempting not to blog, but have no fear I promise I will. Today I have my May GlossyBox first impressions to share with you. This box is the 'Summer Beauty Edit' in collaboration with Superdrug to celebrate their 50th birthday! Superdrug is one of my go to beauty essentials stores so I knew this would be an exciting box.

SOLAIT ILLUMINATING FACIAL BRONZING CREAM ~ £2.99 FOR 100ML

With light reflecting particles to give a healthy, luminous glow as well as ingredients to hydrate and soften the skin.

Exfoliate before use. Apply to a clean, dry face with a tanning mitt or your hands. Blend at the hairline and eyebrows. Wash hands immediately after use.

This product is meant to develop within 2-4 hours. The scent in the tub is very much defined by the sweet almond oil. It looks like a medium thickness cream.

For maxed-up lashes this wand has a multitude of bristles to separate and give a fanned out lash effect. This mascara has a built in wiper system taking off excess product when you pull the wand from the tube. There will be a pop sound to ensure it's working.

Coat evenly root to tip, turning as you reach the end to accentuate the curve and prevent clumping.

I have never tried this mascara so I will see just how volumised it can make my lashes.

This foot mask will hydrate for up to 24 hours working while you sleep to give you beautifully soft feet when you wake.

Massage onto clean, dry feet before bed. No rinsing required.

I tried a tiny bit on my hand and it absorbs into the skin instantly which is great as I hate having sticky cream on me when getting dressed let alone going to bed. I would like to soften my heels for summertime so this will definitely be given a go.

A non-sticky or greasy body moisturiser.

Spray evenly over the desired area for long lasting, locked in moisture.

I am a really big fan of spray body moisturisers. It saves scraping or squeezing the product out and makes application a much quicker and easier process. This cocoa butter scent is gorgeous too. I really like the twist lid that clicks into place. No lost lids. I sprayed some on my legs and it has absorbed unbelievably quickly meaning getting dress straight after application is not a problem.

A full coverage lipstick that leaves a soft sheen on the lips.

Sweep on as required.

This is a very pretty lipstick that is very natural and I think would suit all skin tones. It has a lovely sheen which reflects beautifully in the sunlight. A great everyday shade for summer. I do have one negative though and that is the packaging. The lid is very secure and clicks shut, but the lipstick tube feels quite un-sturdy.

Now following on from all of those full size products are the bonus items.

Enhanced with 4 oils for softer, smoother, silkier skin. Non-greasy and non-sticky. For dry skin.

Apply to clean, dry skin. Not for the face.

This sample of body moisturiser is a new product for me to try and will hopefully do the job.

An intoxicating and addictive fruity-floral fragrance.

The fruity top notes are the first thing I notice about this scent. It quickly settles though into it's floral woody base. This musky scent is very sensual. Perfect for summer days and nights.

Well what can I say. I am very impressed by this box indeed. I think this was a great collaboration and I wish Superdrug a very Happy Birthday!!

September 2012 GlossyBox: Illustrated By Maggie Li

Hi Everyone, I hope you are all doing great. Today I have the products from my September 2012 GlossyBox to show you. This limited edition box has been designed by London-based up-and-coming illustrator Maggie Li.

Lady Gaga Fame Black Fluid Fragrance, £25.00 for 30ml, £32.00 for 50ml & £61.00 for 100ml

Inspired by the artist’s statement “If you don’t have any shadows, you’re not standing in the light".  First of its kind, the black-to-clear perfume is an innovation in fluid technology.

I was really excited to see this fragrance in my GlossyBox. Some may say Lady Gaga is weird, odd or too out there, but I find her intriguing. This smells very seductive as I expected, but very wearable. It comes across as dark, warm and sexy. I only found a hint of black when spraying mine that went clear.

Left: Rodial Glamoxy Snake Serum, £29.00 for 10 x 1ml

Gives a mild freeze-like effect supporting the reduction of visible facial contractions. Liposomes work to fill lines instantly and a ground-breaking oxygen carrier boosts glow and radiance for fresher looking skin with a 3D plumping effect.

I will give this a try, but I am a bit worried about the freeze-like effect as I don't want to look like I've had plastic surgery. This is so expensive at £125 for 50ml, but it you like it you might think it's worth it.

Right: Rodial 5 Minute Facial, £10.95 for 10 x 1ml

The 5 minute Facial is a lifting and decongesting mask that targets age spots and helps reduce the appearance of fine lines by stimulating the skin’s natural collagen.

I hardly ever use face masks because I just forget to. I will try these out.

Left: Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream, £20 for 15ml

For soothing tired eyes, smoothing away dark shadows and reducing the appearance of fine lines.

I have already reviewed this product in my July 2012 Empties post here

Right: Olay Regenerist Wrinkle Relaxing Complex, £29.99 for 50ml

This advanced optical micro-filler blend helps eliminate shadowing and reflection so the appearance of lines and wrinkles is significantly diminished - in an instant.

I will give this a try. I'm always up for trying out new skin care.

L'Oreal Professional Mythic Oil Milk

Conditioning for fine to normal hair.

I like the bottle this comes in. It looks classy and expensive. My bottle says for all hair types, but I thought this was aimed at fine to normal hair?

Left To Right: L'Oreal Shampoo & Conditioner

NEW Mythic Oil Shampoo: refreshing cleansing experience, leaves hair feeling tamed, manageable and looking shiny.

NEW Mythic Oil Conditioner: creamy texture nourishes the hair to leave it feeling silky smooth and soft to the touch.

These sachets also say for all hair types. For information on all of these L'Oreal Mythic Oil products please check out this link. £15.95 for 125 ml.

So that's it my loves. I think this is a good box. It is a shame that I have the Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream as I have already tried it.

Have you received a September GlossyBox? If so, were you impressed by the products inside?

September Empties

Hi again everyone. I have seen this idea on another blog before and I thought it was fab. I can't remember which one it was though, naughty Vicky :( Basically I want to share with you which products I have used up in the month of September and a brief outline of what I thought of them. So here goes.

Left to Right: No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Beauty Serum, BIOEFFECT (EGF Serum), Caudalie Vinoperfect Day Perfecting Fluid SPF 15 & L'Oreal Revitalift Anti Wrinkle and Firming Day Cream

No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Beauty Serum

I have always liked the regular No7 Protect & Perfect Beauty Serum, but I mistakenly picked up the Intense version on a 3 for 2 at Boots Pharmacy the last time I purchased it. I haven't noticed any difference by using this instead of the regular version so I don't think I will go for the Intense next time as it costs £1.50 more, but I would be happy to use the Intense if the regular was out of stock. I use this around my eyes, on my forehead and I have just started using it at the sides of my mouth as I have noticed a couple of very slight wrinkles forming. I used to have quite prominent frown lines years ago on my forehead and since using the regular version of this serum they have pretty much disappeared. I can not imagine never using this. Here is a link to the regular at £19.50 for 30ml and the intense at £21.00 for 30ml.

BIOEFFECT (EGF Serum)

This product came with my June GlossyBox. Please see the link for my initial review here, Link :) This was fine as a serum. The dropper bottle was okay, but I found that when applying it around my eye area it ran down my face so my fingers chased it pretty quickly due to price. I would not purchase this product as at £125 for 15ml I think it's way over priced. Here is a link to the information that GlossyBox has on it, Link :)

Caudalie Vinoperfect Day Perfecting Fluid SPF 15

This product came with my September Beauty Box from feelunique.com. Please see the link of this post here, Link :) This was an okay moisturiser, but it didn't blow me away. For the price of £32.30 for 30ml I wouldn't buy it. Here is a link to it if you want to though, Link :)

L'Oreal Revitalift Anti Wrinkle and Firming Day Cream

I have been using this product for a few years and I think it's a pretty good one for my exceptionally dry skin, but I am still on the lookout for something better. This is £13.99 for 50ml. Here is a Link :)

Left to Right: Clarins Beauty Flash Balm, Estée Lauder Double Wear Light in 1.0 & Ahava Deadsea Water Mineral Body Lotion

Clarins Beauty Flash Balm

I originally wrote a post on this product at the beginning of June. Please see the link here. I still think of this as a fantastic product, but I have started using the Accessorize With-Love Primer which retails at £9.00 as opposed to the Clarins Beauty Flash Balm which I found on feelunique.com for £21.50. Please see the links here for the With-Love Primer and the Clarins Beauty Flash Balm. I will let you know how I get on with the Accessorize Primer once I have used it for a while. I would definitely recommend the Clarins Beauty Flash Balm as a make-up primer though. Although not perfect at helping my foundation to look flawless it has definitely improved it. I have extremely dry skin though. I would definitely go back to this product.

Estée Lauder Double Wear Light in 1.0

I have been using this foundation for some time and I was happy in as much as it's the best I have tried so far and I would definitely go back to it. The trouble is that I have uneven skin with reddening and I was looking for something for heavier coverage, but I'm not sure what to look for with my dry skin? I have been trying a sample of the regular Double Wear which is okay, but I feel like it is showing up my dry skin more. I am still trying out various foundations, but if you have any recommendations for full/medium coverage for very dry skin please let me know. Here is a link to the Estée Lauder Double Wear Light which is £26.50 for 30ml.

Ahava Deadsea Mineral Body Lotion

I received this product in my August GlossyBox. Please see the link to my post here. This was an okay moisturiser. It did the job, but again it didn't blow me away. This is shown on the GlossyBox website at £22.00 for 250ml. I wouldn't pay that much for it, but here is the Link :) It is also called a Deadsea Water Body Lotion which does not sound very appealing to me.

Deadsea Spa Magik Salt Brushing - 2 sachets

Deadsea Spa Magik Salt Brushing

I received these sachets in my September GlossyBox. Please see the link to that post here. The first time I used this scrub I had just shaved my legs and as the granules are quite large this made my legs a little sore. I checked the instructions and it says to use on dry skin while standing in the shower or bath. I had been laying in the bath and so I thought it may be my fault. My skin did feel very soft after use though. I tried this product again on dry skin and I did not feel sore after use. My skin was very soft yet again, but I find the process of scrubbing my skin with such large granules really uncomfortable. I like to feel like I have scrubbed at my skin, but not to the point that it feels a displeasure. For that reason I would not purchase this product. Also the Deadsea in the name does not attract me again. This retails at £12.00 for 500g on the GlossyBox website. Please see the link here.

So that's the end my lovelies. I hope you found this helpful. What products have you been loving or hating recently? Would you buy them again?

Love to you all
