Lips Of The Day: Sexy Pout Temporary Lip Tattoos By StarGazer

Hey loves. Happy Sunday to you. I have the house to my self today so I thought why not try out some temporary lip tattoos as you do.

StarGazer Sexy Pout Temporary Lip Tattoos In Top: Red Hearts, Left: Red Cheetah & Right: Pink Tiger

I was sent the designs Red Hearts and Pink Tiger quite some time by StarGazer for free. They did not ask me to review them at the time, but I gave the Red Hearts design a go and was unsuccessful.

Kat from Touch Media recently sent the Red Cheetah design along with the Temporary Eye Tattoos which I recently reviewed here. I hate being beaten and not understanding how a product works so I gave this design a try.

Application:

  • Ensure your lips are dry and clean as well as free from any other other lip products like lip balm or make-up.

  • Pop the lip shapes out of the packaging. Snip to adjust the design to fit your lip shape and size. I found these designs quite large for my lips and although there are guidelines on them telling you not to cut from the top of the top lip or the bottom of the bottom lip I cut all around both in the end as they were just to large and an awkward shape to fit to my lips.
  • It's not in the instructions, but you must peel the plastic from the front of the design and place the sticky side against your lips.
  • Press a damp cloth or flannel against the design and try to keep the tattoos in place. This was a little difficult to do. I will warn you that it does feel weird and you will be trying not to drool (nice).
  • You will see the design start to slip away. Gently peel off the backing after about 30-40 seconds of dampening. Use your cloth or flannel to gently press against the design now on your lips to mould it to your lips.
  •  I applied the top lip first, but it's up to you which way you do it. Apply the design to your other lip in the same way trying not to let your top and bottom lips meet as these tattoos take 5 minutes to fully dry and seal.
  • I applied these before any of my other make-up as I thought it would be easier. I had a little overlap on one corner which I managed to manoeuvre in place and then I applied the rest of my make-up.
  • To remove use gentle make-up remover or baby oil. Oily food may cause the design to be removed.

As you can see the design could be a little bigger on my lips, but I found it difficult to size and get a great fit. Nice attractive ring around the mouth (not).

Open mouthed to show you how it looks on the inner parts of the lips.

I do think these are a really fun and creative way to make your make-up stand out. However I think these are too fussy to apply and get the right size and shape for your mouth. I have been wearing the look while writing this post and already it's peeling from my lips dues to the saliva in my mouth as I haven't even had a drink. They are meant to last all day, but I don't see how they will stay in tact. I have one more of the designs to try which I will probably reserve for a Halloween look on my blog this year as I wouldn't feel comfortable or attractive when out in public and these start peeling away.

Other products in this LOTD/FOTD are:

Pure BB Cream (Light)

Helen É Cosmetics Miracle Concealer*

 E.L.F. Studio Translucent Matifying Powder

E.L.F. Studio Cool Bronzer

*This Helen É Cosmetics Concealer was a PR sample that I reviewed in a FOTN post here.

Are you a fan of temporary lip tattoos? Do you know how to make them stay on the lips for longer without peeling? Are there any products from StarGazer that you recommend? Let me know in the comments below.

LOTD: St George's Day Inspired

Hey Loves. Kiss kiss to you all. With St George's Day coming up on Monday I felt like applying a red hot lip shade. Here is a wee pic of the lips I have been wearing today.

For these luscious red lips I firstly applied my NYX Cosmetics Jumbo Eye Pencil in Cottage Cheese to my cupids bow. This along with my pale complexion acted as the white background of the flag, ha ha ;). To prevent the red colour from bleeding I applied my E.L.F. Studio Lip Lock Pencil around the edges, except where I had applied the Jumbo Eye Pencil. For the actual lips I applied my Eyeko Liptastik Glossy Lip Pen in Lip Lover, blotted, reapplied and blotted again. I then went around the lips once again with the Lip Lock Pencil.

Here are links to the products mentioned:

NYX Cosmetics Jumbo Lip Pencil (Cottage Cheese): £4.50 ~ Link :), $4.50 ~ Link :), $3.50 ~ Link :)

E.L.F. Studio Lip Lock Pencil : £3.50 ~ Link :), $3.00 ~ Link :)

Eyeko Liptastik Glossy Lip Pen (Lip Lover): $10.00 ~ Link :)

This lip lock pencil really does stop colours feathering. Such a bargain. I love this bold red shade. It stays glossy on me for a couple of hours and then turns into more of a stain that is still very pigmented, but a little more matte. It's not drying though.

What bold lips are you rocking right now? Link me up in the comments below.

LOTD: Jordana Lipstick Raspberry (046)

It's me again my loves. I have used this gorgeous lip colour a few times now so I thought it was about time to show it to you.

 Jordana Lipstick (Raspberry 046)

I first picked up this lipstick in my 'Massive Make-up Haul' post, Link :) You can still buy this lipstick from cherryculture.com for $1.30 in the sale, Link :) This lipstick is described as full coverage, dazzling colour with a rich and creamy texture. Lightweight with a smooth-glide on application and a soft shine finish. This lipstick does smooth onto my lips nicely even though it has a slightly more matte application than say a NYX Round Lipstick. It did not dry out my lips though. This colour is very pigmented and lasted about three to four hours before the need to re-apply. It faded evenly and does have a nice sheen to it. I would would describe this shade as a very glossy pinky purple. It can look either more pink or more purple in different lighting as shown in the photos above. This lipstick does have a very strong scent of raspberry to it so if you prefer your lipstick to be unscented you won't like this. For the price I think this is exceptional value.

Have you found any other great lipstick's? What bargains have you picked up from cherryculture.com? There are so many other products I would like to try from their website, but I can't afford to at the moment :(

Lips Of The Day: Estée Lauder

Bank Holiday weekend. Woooooooo hoooooooo. I am skint and have no plans, but I get an extra day off work so that's good. I hope you gorgeous people are out to have some fun though. Today's post includes two lip products which I bought the other day from Estée Lauder at Debenhams.

LEFT: Pure Color (A0) Vanilla Truffle Lasting Creme

RIGHT: Pure Color (27) Pink Kiss Shimmer

Pure Color (A0) Vanilla Truffle Lasting Creme

Pure Color (27) Pink Kiss Shimmer

Here Are Both Products Worn Together

I have never bought products from Estée Lauder before other than my Double Wear Light Foundation, but I have to say I will be going back for more. The lipstick is so creamy and smooth. I think it will be the perfect nude when combined with a smokey eye. This shade can look a little bit concealerish so beware and try before you buy. This retails at £18.50. The lip gloss is a gorgeous, shimmery shade that I think would suit pretty much anyone. This retails at £16.00. I love the lipstick, but with the lip gloss over the top it is definitely more wearable.

What are your favourite lip combinations? Are there other Estée Lauder products worth trying?

Love to you all

Lips Of The Day: Two-Tone

Hello lovelies. It's raining again :( Boooooooooooo to the weather. I tried a slightly different look today that I thought you might like to see. I attempted to do two-tone lips as I was inspired by Look magazine this week.

If you want to recreate this look please see below.

Step 1: Use Vaseline Lip Therapy or any other none tinted lip balm before applying any other my make-up so that when you come to doing your lips at the end of your look they are not too slippery for the lipstick. This will hopefully stop your lips becoming too dry throughout the day.

Step 2: Fill in the lips with the MUA Snow White kohl pencil to give the lipstick a base to cling on to. Otherwise you can use any white kohl or white eye/lip crayon.

Step 3: With a lip brush apply the 17 Lasting Fix Hot Chilli Lasting Fix Lipstick to the top lip. Blot, re-apply and blot again.

Step 4: Do the same for the bottom lip, but this time with the Barry M Touch Of Magic Lip Paint.

I should mention that the Barry M Touch Of Magic Lip Paint adjusts to everyone's skin tone differently and so the colour may not show up on you as it does on me. You may use similar colours to the ones I have used if you do not have these specific products. You may also prefer to go for completely different shades?

Although this look did last a little while the two colours did merge together eventually and so I would recommend to try using a Lipcote to seal the colours. Also, when I try this type of look again I think I will use a very pure white crayon with a denser pigment to give a really blank canvas and show up the colours even more.

Here are the products with prices and links:

  • Vaseline Lip Therapy £1.32 at Boots. Link :)

  • MUA Snow White kohl pencil was £1, but I could not find the link to it on Superdrug's website. Sorry!

  • 17 Lasting Fix Lipstick in Hot Chilli £4.29 at Boots Link :)

  • Barry M Touch Of Magic Lip Paint £4.49 on Barry M website Link :)

MUA is only available at Superdrug. Most items are £1 or thereabouts!

If you do try out this look let me know how you get on with it. You can even show me a picture of you like?

Take care sweethearts.

Love to you all
