December Empties

Hi there everyone. I hope you are all enjoying the new year. I am still on leave, but will be returning to work on Monday :( Today I wanted to show you the products that I have used up in December and what I thought of them so I will get started.

Face

Left To Right: Simple Kind To Skin Pore Minimising Toning Cleanser, Link :), Murad Time Release Acne Cleanser, Link :), No7 Protect & Perfect Beauty Serum, Caudalie Vinexpert Radiance Day Fluid SPF10, Link :)

Simple Kind To Skin Pore Minimising Toning Cleanser ~ I purchased mine in Superdrug, but I can't find it on the website to tell you the price, sorry :(

The Information:

This Pore Minimising Toning Cleanser is a perfect blend of ingredients to visibly help reduce the size of pores. Helps to leave the skin feeling refreshed and clarified. Perfect for even sensitive skin. The special blend of Simple toning goodness containing Pro-Vitamin B5, Vitamin E, Chamomile, Geranium and Witch Hazel, helps to keep your skin toned, clarified and refreshed.

NO PERFUME, NO COLOUR, NO UNNECESSARY INGREDIENTS so it won't upset your skin. Dermatologically Tested and Approved.

This product does not feel at all harsh on the skin. It has a smooth formula. I do want to try another cleanser though as I do end up using more cotton wool pads to removed dirt and grime from my face and neck than I would like. I have not noticed any pore minimising.

Murad Time Release Acne Cleanser ~ £5.50 for 30ml

The Information:

Now you can fight two stubborn skin concerns at the same time with the first patented time-release Anti-Ageing Blemish regime clinically proven to reduce blemishes while diminishing fine lines and wrinkles. This high-performance solution includes an innovative anti-blemish treatment technology that continues to work even after you rinse it off. Breakouts and wrinkles won’t stand a chance! Additional features and ingredients: Multi-active blemish fighting system, featuring encapsulated Salicylic Acid technology, provides a sustained release that continues to treat blemishes, even after rinsing. Amino acids and Hyaluronic Acid bind moisture to skin while antioxidants neutralize free radicals to preserve a more youthful appearance.

Application:

Massage a small amount over dampened face and neck. Rinse with warm water and pat dry.

I received this product in my August GlossyBox. I tend to use my face washes while I am in the shower. This product does feel quite refreshing when you use it, but I don't have much more to say about it than that I'm afraid.

No7 Protect & Perfect Beauty Serum ~ The Boots Pharmacy website is currently unavailable, but this product is usually around £20.00 for the tube

I started using this product years ago and fell in love with it straight away as the frown lines on my forehead pretty much disappeared. Recently though I have noticed more wrinkles and fine lines appearing on my face. I know it's a part of the ageing process, but as this product is not working as well for me I am looking for something to help smooth out those fine lines. I am tempted by the fairly new product on the market Nanoblur, but I am waiting to see more reviews on this. Have you tried Nanoblur or a similar product? Any good or bad? I am interested in anti-wrinkle/anti-ageing creams too :)

Caudalie Vinexpert Radiance Day Fluid SPF10 ~ Currently at reduced priced on feelunique.com of £27.55 for 30ml

The Information:

This energising fluid with SPF10 offers complete firming, protective and anti-wrinkle action along with optimum moisture to ensure a glowing complexion all day long.Main ingredients: anti-ageing grapevine Resveratrol anti-oxidant grapevine polyphenols(OPC), strengthening and moisturising Vinolevure, coppery pearlizers and light-reflecting pigments for an instant healthy glow, toning ginseng, nourishing and moisturising cassia angustifolia, sodium hyaluronate, shea butter, olive squalane and pea, soothing pro-vitamin B5 and camomile, encapuslated sun filter, energising cypress, basil, mint, galbanum, mandarin and ylang-ylang.

I received this product in my October Feelunique Beauty Box. This does feel like a nice cream, but it has not done anything spectacular to my skin. Even for the reduced price I think I can find something far more affordable.

Face/Make-up

Left To Right: Accessorize With-Love Primer, Link :), Primark Ta Ta For Now Magic Undereye Concealer (Light), Daniel Sandler Jumbo Jet Mascara, Link :)

Accessorize With-Love Primer ~ £9.00 for 30ml

The Information:

Helps to even out skin tone while reducing shine. Improves foundation application and helps minimise skin imperfections. Make-up lasts longer and skin is left feeling velvety smooth all day.

This product does feel velvety smooth on the skin. Prior to this I was using Clarins Beauty Flash Balm. I would much rather use this product as it's much more affordable and my make-up looks exactly the same. My one con for this product is that the hole it dispenses from is quite large so you may waste more product. Just be careful when you squeeze it out. I love the pretty design of the tube too.

Primark Ta Ta For Now Magic Undereye Concealer (Light) ~ Not sure on price as not shown on Primark's website. I bought this at a reduced price of a about £2.00 over a year ago.

This concealer brush pen has lasted me absolutely ages. I think it's great value as it works just as well under my eyes as the YSL Touche Eclat and the Clarins concealer pens ever did. You just click the button at the end of the pen to dispense the product and brush on.

Daniel Sandler Jumbo Jet Mascara ~ £11.80

The Information:

Create an intense and mysterious look with the Daniel Sandler Jumbo Jet Mascara. A must have for the woman who wants to get noticed, this intense black mascara is the perfect addition to your collection. Specially formulated to deliver long, sultry lashes, Daniel Sandler Jumbo Jet Mascara is the only mascara a woman needs when she wants high-performance, luscious lashes. After one stroke of the brush, lashes are instantly thicker, longer, and with a false lash effect. Like little ball bearings, the spherical particles attract the formula and then become encapsulated with product. Due to the size and shape of these particles, they line up on the lash giving the effect of added volume.

Application:

For maximum effect begin at the lash root and brush up with a slight wiggle back and forth.

I received this product in my August GlossyBox and I have to say I really don't like it. The big brush did not assist with maximising my lashes. It does not deliver any type of false lash effect. Not enough product comes out. My lashes were not lengthened, volumised or thickened. My eyes water a lot and although this does not claim to be a waterproof mascara this stuff ran all around my eye area the first time I used it. My eyes are very sensitive, especially on a windy day, but I have never experienced anything like this before. I would not recommend this product!

This lotion smells gorgeous. It's so fresh and juicy. I actually got this free as I received a Joy Card. I think I got it with Glamour Magazine. I took the card into The Body Shop and they told me the card was worth £3.00 so I got this lotion for free :) I would use this product again. The scent is fab and the cream is nice too.

I love this herbal scent. It's very autumnal as is the pacjkaging. This lotion feels lovely and sinks straight into the skin. I love the touch of the little leaf attached to the bottle. Unfortunately the pump stopped working for me about half way through using this. I would definitely recommedn this product.

Please excuse me writing on this product, but that was to remind me that THIS PRODUCT WAS SENT TO ME FOR REVIEW PURPOSES, BUT ALL OPINIONS ARE MY OWN!

Di Palomo White Grape With Aloe Bath & Shower Cream ~ £9.00 for 250ml

This product feels so fresh and clean. I like the pump idea again. It's much easier to use in the shower. I lost the wee leaf that was attached to this :( I like the feeling of this cream on my skin. I would use this product in the future.

THIS PRODUCT WAS SENT TO ME FOR REVIEW PURPOSES, BUT ALL OPINIONS ARE MY OWN!

Avon Barbie Bubble-icious! Body Wash ~ I can no longer find this on the Avon website, sorry :(

This is not a fantastic body wash in scent, but I just got a kick out of it because of the packaging. It was fun to use just for that.

Hand/Nail/Perfume

Left To Right: Di Palomo Enriching White Grape With Aloe Hand & Nail Cream, Link :), Di Palomo Wild Fig & Grape Enriching Hand & Nail Cream, Link :), Etro Ambra Fragrance, Link :)

Di Palomo Enriching White Grape With Aloe Hand & Nail Cream ~ £7.00 for 75ml

The Information:

Enriching Hand & Nail Cream An enriching and luxurious Hand and Nail Cream containing Grape & Aloe Extracts. Also rich in Olive & Grapeseed Oils to leave your hands soft, smooth and nourished.

Natural ingredients:

Grape Seed Oil
Olive Oil
Aloe Vera Extract
Grape Extract

Full ingredient list:

Aqua (Water), Cetearyl Alcohol, Stearic Acid, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Cetearyl Ethylhexanoate, Cyclomethicone, Dimethicone, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Ceteth-20, Parfum, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf (Aloe Vera) Extract, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Extract, Glycerin, Alcohol Denat, Ethylhexylglycerin, Phenoxyethanol, zethylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Magnesium Nitrate, Magnesium Chloride, Sodium Benzoate, Sorbic Acid, Citric Acid, Geraniol, Limonene, Hydroxycitronellal, Citronellol, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Linalool, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene, Carboxaldehyde, Benzyl Salicylate, CI 19140.

This obviuosly has the same scent as the Di Palomo White Grape With Aloe Bath & Shower Cream above. This cream feels smooth and sinks nicley into the skin. I would reccommend this, especially if you travel a lot as this smaller size is handy.

THIS PRODUCT WAS SENT TO ME FOR REVIEW PURPOSES, BUT ALL OPINIONS ARE MY OWN!

Di Palomo Wild Fig & Grape Enriching Hand & Nail Cream ~ £7.00 for 75ml

This sinks in just as nicely as the Di Palomo Enriching White Grape With Aloe Hand & Nail Cream, but obviously has then scent of the Wild Fig & Grape range. I would reccommend this product.

THIS PRODUCT WAS SENT TO ME FOR REVIEW PURPOSES, BUT ALL OPINIONS ARE MY OWN!

Etro Ambra Fragrance

This fragrance was okay, but not one that I would pick up for myself. I received this in my November GlossyBox.

So the products that I would purchase in the future are:

  • No7 Protect & Perfect Beauty Serum
  • Accessorize With-Love Primer
  • Primark Ta Ta For Now Magic Undereye Concealer (Light)
  • The Body Shop Satsuma Puree Body Lotion
  • Di Palomo Wild Fig & Grape Indulgent Hand & Body Lotion
  • Di Palomo White Grape With Aloe Bath & Shower Cream
  • Di Palomo Enriching White Grape With Aloe Hand & Nail Cream
  • Di Palomo Wild Fig & Grape Enriching Hand & Nail Cream

So that's all folks. What products have you been loving or loathing in December?

Love to you all

Avon Haul

Hey my pretty loves. Today is the last day of my time off before I go back to work. I took the week off as I felt like I had loads to do and no time to do it. I managed to do a few blog posts while I have had some time to myself which makes me happy. Now on to today's post. A couple of weeks ago I purchased some things from Avon. I got so many bargains for a very good price so I thought I would share them with you.

The first item is the Supershock Gel Eyeliner Pencil in Black. I love the lace design on the pencil. This pencil just glides onto the skin. It is of a very smooth, creamy, gel like consistency and intensely black. The Pixiwoo sisters (Samantha and Nicola Chapman) are fond of this eyeliner so I knew I had to try it. I purchased this for £3.50. It's original price was £6.00. It is no longer on sale for £3.50, but you can purchase it for the reduced price of £4.00. Please see the link here, Link :)

My second bunch of products are these foundations and a mattifier. Left to Right: New Magix Cashmere Finish Foundation, New Magix Face Perfector, New Mattifying Foundation and New Calming Effects Illuminating Foundation. These are all trial size products. The foundations are all in the shade Ivory as that appeared to be the closet shade to my skin tone, but I find it so hard to match foundation to my skin, especially when buying it online. These trial sizes were all 99p each.

Swatches as above

Blended out

I would actually say that these foundations when I swatched them felt creamier as I went left to right which is interesting as Cashmere Finish Foundation felt a little more matte than the Mattifying Foundation. I will see how they work when I apply them to my face though. The shade Ivory looks ever so slightly different to me in the initial swatches of the various foundations, but more alike when blended out. The Face Perfector is a light gel-powder which is meant to act as a mattifying make-up base/primer. Here are some links to the full sizes of these products: New Magix Cashmere Finish Foundation, New Magix Face Perfector and New Calming Effects Illuminating Foundation. I'm afraid I can not find the link to the New Mattifying Foundation which is strange as when I ordered it it said it was new? Sorry :( A bit weird when offering a trial size. Please let me know if you find it.

Left to Right: Barbie Bubble-icious Floral Body Wash & Barbie Fab Floral Spritz

Yes I am a child, but I really don't care. These just looked too cute and girly not to try. I paid the sale prices of £1.90 for the Body Wash and £2.15 for the Floral Spritz. I would say these are only slightly floral. A quite subtle perfumed smell. They are not spectacular, but I think worth trying for the price. Please see the link for the Body Wash here. Here is the link to the Floral Spritz. These products are still at the price I purchased them for. Also please check out my Zombie Barbie post for Halloween if you haven't already, Link :)

Spotlight Moisturising Shimmer Gel

Blended out

I bought this little bargain in the sale for 75p. This is a nice shimmer highlight with a non-offensive scent. I think this would be great to highlight cheekbones and to use on legs, arms and collarbone with a tan. Unfortunately I could not find this item on the website. It was in the sale book though so maybe it is being discontinued, sorry :(

Hawaiian Shores Moisturising Gel

I really like the packaging of this product. Although we are heading more and more towards winter I love the holiday vibe that this product has. This is quite a gloopy formula, but it did blend well into my skin. I am not too keen on the smell. It's a bit potent, but I imagine that it would be easily covered up by perfume or body spray. I would not buy this product again because of the scent, but for the £1.75 that I paid I am not too disappointed. Her is a link to this product which is now retailing at £3.50.

I also received a free sample of the Christian Lacroix Nuit For Her Perfume. This is quite a musky and sensual scent. I quite like it, but I'm not sure if I like it enough to buy for myself. This is only described as a sample without an image or information on the Avon website so I didn't see any point in adding a link.

So overall I think I purchased a pretty good haul here which only cost me a total of £14.01. I am very happy with the appearance of the eyeliner and I can't wait to test out the foundations as I am still on the hunt for the perfect one. The Barbie products just look gorgeously cute and the Spotlight Moisturising Shimmer Gel is a definite winner. My only disappointment is the scent of the Hawaiian Shores Moisturising Gel, but I can live with that. Plus I got a free sample of perfume which I can't moan about.

Have you tried any great Avon products? Are there any products to avoid?

Love to you all

Zombie Barbie For Halloween

Hey gorgeous lovelies. It's Monday, but I hope I can put a smile on your face by showing you my second Halloween look. I wanted to do something a bit different and fun so I went for a 'Zombie Barbie'. So here is what I came up with.

Barbie had always got along with other dolls, but as the disease took over things began to change

In fear of Barbie all the other dolls decided to make her Queen

If they were lucky she would not feed on them!

QUEEN BARBIE: EATS OTHER DOLLS FOR BREAKFAST!

Here are the products I used and the steps to take if you want to recreate this look:

Step 1: Apply Accessorize With-Love Primer all over the face and neck. Here is a link to the primer.

Step 2: Apply Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation in Bone all over the face and neck. Here is a link to this foundation.

Step 3: Add Benefit Boi-ing Concealer in 02 to blemish areas that you would normally cover up. Here is a link to the concealer.

Step 4: Apply Primark Ta Ta For Now Pen Concealer in Light down the nose, on the cupids bow and under the eyes. Primark do not have many products at all on their website so I can not show you a link to this, sorry :(

Step 5: Apply E.L.F. Eyelid Primer in Sheer all over the eyelids. Here is a link to this eye primer.

Step 6: Using the Sleek MakeUP Limited Edition I-Divine Good Girl Palette apply the shade Meringue to the inner corners of the eyes and under the brow bone. Then all over the eyelids and almost up to the brow apply the shade Cupcake. Then apply the shade Pink Punch to the outer corner and slightly into the crease of the eye. Make sure to blend these colours well. As this is a limited edition palette I can not show you a link to this, sorry :(

Step 7: Using the E.L.F. Complete Coverage Concealer Palette in Medium apply the third shade from the left over your eyebrows if they are dark like mine as you want the brows to match the blonde wig. Don't put too much, just enough as a base for shadow. Here is a link to the concealer palette.

Step 8: Apply the Ash Brown shade that comes in the HD Brows Palette for Brunettes over the top of the concealer on your eyebrows. Mine came in my September GlossyBox. Here is a link to the GlossyBox website as the HD Brows website does not appear show any products? Link :)

Step 9: Apply MUA Snow White Eye Liner to the waterline, but not too much. There is no link to this on the Superdrug website, sorry :(

Step 10: Apply Eyeko Graffiti Eyeliner Pen in Jet Black to the upper lash line and into a small flick at the outer corner. On the outer corner of the lower lash line draw on 3 lashes to make the look more doll-like. As Eyeko has had a revamp this eyeliner no longer appears to be available, but here is a link to an eyeliner pen they have that looks almost identical, Link :)

Step 11: Apply the NYX Cosmetics Long Pencil Eye in Dark Brown along the lower lash line. Here is a link to this pencil.

Step 12: To give that tired, sallow look to your eyes apply Illamasqua Cream Eye Shadow in the shade Dual to the sides of the nose by the inners of the eyes and under the eyes where under eye bags would naturally form. Blend in to make it look realistic. Here is a link to this eye shadow.

Step 13: Apply W7 Honolulu bronzer in an E3 motion to contour the face. I could not find a W7 website, but W7 is available on various online websites. I actually bought mine in my local Savers.

Step 14: Next apply Illamasqua Powder Blusher in Unrequited to the apples of the cheeks. Here is a link to this blusher.

Step 15: Apply W7 Africa Multi Bronzing Face Powder to the cupids bow and above the apples of the cheeks as a highlight. Again this should be easy to find on various websites, but I got mine at my local Savers.

Step 16: Next apply MAC Show Orchid Lipstick straight from the bullet onto your lips with 2/3 applications. For some reason I can not see this shade available on the website, but I am sure it is still available in stores?

Step 17: Next up you need to use the Sleek MakeUP I-Divine The Primer Palette. Unfortunately the names of the shades in my palette do not appear to correspond correctly so I will just describe them by colour and not their official name. Dab the 'blue' shade onto the lips to tone down the pink a little so that your lips look a little more deathly. Now you need to use a small pointy brush that is a little flexible to apply the 'purple' shade on various areas of your face and neck to create veins. Use the brush in a squiggle motion. Dab the colour onto your hand before applying as you don't want to apply to much product. Accentuate these veins with the 'blue' and 'black' shades, but again again dab onto your hand and keep building where you need to. Add a few veins using the 'red/pink' shade remembering to dab on your hand first. Also apply this shade to the inner part of your lower lash lines. Here is a link to the primer palette.

Step 18: Apply just a dab of 17 Clear Lipgloss onto your lips. I was given this product at Xmas as part of a mini set that is available again this year on the link here.

Step 19: Next apply Clinique High Impact Mascara in Black to the upper lash line only. Here is a link to the mascara.

Step 20: Apply Beauty Nation Glam Lashes to the upper lash line. Make sure to check they are the right size for your eyes before applying. If they are not then just snip them with some nail scissors until they fit. Bend them gently into the natural curved shape of your eye, add the lash glue along the stem of the lashes. I used a cotton bud to help spread mine as it was quite thick. Let it get tacky for a minute or two then apply to your lash line using tweezers and your fingers to guide you. This was my first time at applying false eye lashes and I didn't do too bad, but one eye is coming away slightly at the outer corner as you can see in the photos. Try to avoid this by applying a little extra glue to the ends. Here is a link to the lashes, although they are not the exact same style as there are various designs in Poundland, Link :)

Step 21: Apply 17 Clear Definition Mascara over the top of your eyebrows to keep them in place. Here is a link to this mascara.

Step 22: Put on lots of pink things. I have on a pink long sleeved top from Primark, 3 necklaces that came in a pack from the 99p Stores and a ring from I believe Love Lemonade. I also added a blonde wig from Annabelles Wigs in the style Carly and a Claires hairband. Here are links to these products:

Primark top ~ No link available, sorry :(

Set of 3 necklaces ~ Link :)
Ring ~ It's not the exact same, but here is a similar ring Link :)

Wig ~ I had a fringe cut into this Link :)

Here are some close ups of my hand to give you a better look of the veins that I also applied here. For details of the nail polish please see my NOTD post.

A rather attractive pose from me don't you think, haa haa? I wanted to show you the veins on my neck too. The earrings are from Peacocks. The are no longer available on the website, sorry :(

My tiara came as part of this set from Poundland. Here is a link to this product which is shown in purple, Link :)

Here is the doll which I was chewing on. She is named Rochelle and comes in various outfit designs from Poundland. I removed her jacket as it was very tatty. Although it's a different doll here is a link to the dolls in this range, Link :)

So I hope you enjoyed this post. I know it was long, but I just wanted to include all the information in case you want to try it. I quite liked being Barbie, but I would have preferred to be the prettier version. It was quite hard to get the balance between the 'perfect Barbie Look' and the 'Zombie Look', but I think it came out okay. Use whatever products you want to recreate this look as I don't expect you to go out and buy each item that I have.

PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN APPLYING THESE PRODUCTS TO YOUR SKIN AS I DON'T WANT ANYONE COMING BACK TO ME SAYING THAT APPLYING EYE PRODUCTS IN OTHER AREAS CAUSED THEM HARM. ALSO WHEN REMOVING YOUR FAKE EYE LASHES HOLD A COTTON PAD SOAKED IN EYE MAKE-UP REMOVER OVER THE EYE WITH YOUR EYE CLOSED FOR A MINUTE OR TWO, THEN GENTLY PULL AWAY THE LASHES. DO NOT FORCE THE LASHES AWAY FROM YOUR EYE AND APPLY MORE EYE MAKE-UP REMOVER IF NECESSARY. THOSE UNDER THE AGE OF 18 MAY NEED TO SEEK GUIDANCE FROM A PARENT OR GUARDIAN WHEN APPLYING AND REMOVING THESE PRODUCTS!

So what do you think of this look? Is it something you would try? Have you already done something similar?

Love to you all
