ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK MAKE-UP

Hi sweeties. In my last post I shared with you a wearable Halloween outfit for day or night. The make-up look from that post is inspired by Alex Vause from Orange Is The New Black so here it is.

NYX THE CARIBBEAN COLLECTION I DREAM OF ST. KITT PALETTE (THREE LIGHTEST SHADES)

99P STORE FATE LIPSTICK (FROM PACK OF THREE)

I realise that my lips are lighter than the Alex Vause picture, but I wanted a brighter look. To be honest the winged liner is more of what I wanted to bring out in this look.

Let me know what you think of this FOTD/FOTN look in the comments below and don't forget to check out my WEARABLE HALLOWEEN FASHION OUTFIT also.

Favourites: 2013 Lip Glosses & Lipsticks

Hi my lovelies. I hope you are all super fab today. You are closer to the weekend now so just keep going. For you I have a wee post on my favourite 2013 lip products. So without further ado these were my most used in 2013.

L-R: NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss Dolly Pink, Fearne Glossy Lips (shade unknown), NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss Perfect Red, NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss Nude Pink & NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss Beige.

As you can see I am a massive fan of the NYX Mega Shine Lip Glosses. I have swatches of these shades and many others in this post! I am not sure if all the NYX Mega Shine Lip Glosses smell the same, but these ones certainly smell like cherries which I really like. The colour you see in the tube is the colour you truly get with these. They feel really nice on the lips and have a cute bow on top of the black lids. NYX is a brand which I always think of as a favourite in general. I would totally recommend these to lip gloss lovers.

Dolly Pink is a very bold barbie pink.

Perfect Red is exactly that. Bold and sultry for va va voom lips.

Nude Pink is a milky cool toned peach.

Beige is not beige at all. Every time this product is mentioned on blogs and by YouTuber's the same thing is said. It's a very natural lip colour. A subtle rose pink.

The Fearne Cotton lip gloss came in a set which you may be able to find on Ebay or Amazon, but as it was a 2011 Xmas gift that may not be possible sorry. I hate showing products that you may not be able to get hold of, but it was a favourite last year. The shade is not named or numbered, but I described it as a pinky brown in this post where you can find all of my Fearne Cotton lip and nail product swatches.

Left: Natural Collection Moisture Shine Lipstick Apple Blossom

This is a very easy to wear pale peach nude. I think it would suit most complexions as it is so light. You can find swatches of my Natural Collection lipsticks here. These lipsticks are available at Boots. The site seems to be down at the moment so I can't tell you their price, but I think they are around £1.99.

Right: NYX Round Lipstick Fire

You can find a swatch of this shade and many others in this haul post. I picked up this lipstick at IMATS some time ago, but I have purchased many NYX products from cherryculture.com too. I would definitely say if the shipping works out to be worth it for you and you want to find lots of make-up brands at very affordable prices then you should check out this site. There are brands such as Jordana and Milani on their too which we don't really see in the UK. This NYX shade I described as a very punchy red. The NYX Round Lipsticks feel so buttery on the lips.

So these were my most worn lip products of 2013, but believe me I have used many different brands and shades throughout the year. I would also recommend checking out the MUA range at Superdrug for very affordable lipsticks at just £1.00 each. I for one want to check out their new matte lipstick line. Here is a link to some of their lipstick products.

What were your favourite lip products of 2013? Let me know with your reasons in the comments below.

Lips Of The Day: Sexy Pout Temporary Lip Tattoos By StarGazer

Hey loves. Happy Sunday to you. I have the house to my self today so I thought why not try out some temporary lip tattoos as you do.

StarGazer Sexy Pout Temporary Lip Tattoos In Top: Red Hearts, Left: Red Cheetah & Right: Pink Tiger

I was sent the designs Red Hearts and Pink Tiger quite some time by StarGazer for free. They did not ask me to review them at the time, but I gave the Red Hearts design a go and was unsuccessful.

Kat from Touch Media recently sent the Red Cheetah design along with the Temporary Eye Tattoos which I recently reviewed here. I hate being beaten and not understanding how a product works so I gave this design a try.

Application:

  • Ensure your lips are dry and clean as well as free from any other other lip products like lip balm or make-up.

  • Pop the lip shapes out of the packaging. Snip to adjust the design to fit your lip shape and size. I found these designs quite large for my lips and although there are guidelines on them telling you not to cut from the top of the top lip or the bottom of the bottom lip I cut all around both in the end as they were just to large and an awkward shape to fit to my lips.
  • It's not in the instructions, but you must peel the plastic from the front of the design and place the sticky side against your lips.
  • Press a damp cloth or flannel against the design and try to keep the tattoos in place. This was a little difficult to do. I will warn you that it does feel weird and you will be trying not to drool (nice).
  • You will see the design start to slip away. Gently peel off the backing after about 30-40 seconds of dampening. Use your cloth or flannel to gently press against the design now on your lips to mould it to your lips.
  •  I applied the top lip first, but it's up to you which way you do it. Apply the design to your other lip in the same way trying not to let your top and bottom lips meet as these tattoos take 5 minutes to fully dry and seal.
  • I applied these before any of my other make-up as I thought it would be easier. I had a little overlap on one corner which I managed to manoeuvre in place and then I applied the rest of my make-up.
  • To remove use gentle make-up remover or baby oil. Oily food may cause the design to be removed.

As you can see the design could be a little bigger on my lips, but I found it difficult to size and get a great fit. Nice attractive ring around the mouth (not).

Open mouthed to show you how it looks on the inner parts of the lips.

I do think these are a really fun and creative way to make your make-up stand out. However I think these are too fussy to apply and get the right size and shape for your mouth. I have been wearing the look while writing this post and already it's peeling from my lips dues to the saliva in my mouth as I haven't even had a drink. They are meant to last all day, but I don't see how they will stay in tact. I have one more of the designs to try which I will probably reserve for a Halloween look on my blog this year as I wouldn't feel comfortable or attractive when out in public and these start peeling away.

Other products in this LOTD/FOTD are:

Pure BB Cream (Light)

Helen É Cosmetics Miracle Concealer*

 E.L.F. Studio Translucent Matifying Powder

Glam Bunny FOTD: Featuring StarGazer Eye Tattoos

Hiya Everyone. Happy Easter Sunday to you. I hope are enjoying the weekend so far. Today I have some interesting eye products to show you that were sent to me for free to review by Kat from Touch Media.

StarGazer Sexy Eyes Temporary Eye Tattoos in Left: Flourish & Right: Flames

I have been meaning to try out some eye tattoos as I was intrigued to see how well they work. They bring so much drama to the eyes so they seemed right up my street.

These looked a bit large for my eyes and I thought they might be a little fiddly to apply so I just used part of one set. I used the smaller section from the set Flames on the right to add a firey wing to my eyes.

My skin was clean. Free from oils and make-up. Make sure that yours is the same when applying these or they may not adhere to the skin properly.

I cut around the design carefully with some small, sharp scissors cutting off as much excess as possible so that they would be easier to apply.

I removed the clear protector and placed the design facing downwards against where I wanted it on my eye.

With a damp cloth I pressed firmly against the tattoo ensuring it had wet through the whole design.

I could see the paper sliding away and some of the design appearing on my skin. I was worried that I may break or smudge the design so after about 30 seconds I removed the paper gently.

I used the damp cloth to gently press against the tattoo to make sure it sat nicely on the skin.

I have to say it came out perfectly with no smudging or splits in the design. I then applied the other eye tattoo in the same way, trying to match it at the same angle as the other eye, but in reverse.

I then applied my make-up being careful to use smaller brushes around the eye area.

Other products used in the FOTD post are:

Pure BB Cream (Light)

Helen É Cosmetics Miracle Concealer*

Helen É Cosmetics Powder Blush (Candylicious)*

E.L.F. Studio Translucent Matifying Powder

E.L.F. Studio Cool Bronzer (Two Darkest Brown Shades)

Vera Valenti L'ombre a Paupiere Margarita Palette (Cream Shade)

NYX Cosmetics Winter In Moscow Palette (Black Shade)

No7 Exceptional Definition Nutrient Enriched Mascara (Black)

HD Brows Brow Beater

Fearne Glossy Lips (No Name, But Pink Shade)

E.L.F. Studio Mist & Set

*These Helen É Cosmetics products were both PR samples that I reviewed in a FOTN post here

I wanted the tattoos to be the main focus of the make-up and so I made the rest of the make-up quite simple. I went over the whole of the eyes with a cream shade, using a small angle brush around the tattoos. I used a black shade to define the crease and line the eyes so that the tattoos would join to it nicely. I went over the tattoos with this black shade just a little to deepen it a bit more and so it matched the eye lining. I did not apply any product other than clear mascara to my brows to keep the eye tattoos the focus.

The tattoos were removed easily with make-up remover on a cotton pad pressed against the eye for about 10 seconds. You can also use baby oil, but be careful not to get it in your eyes.

I like to blog while wearing the make-up look I am writing about and while doing so I wear my glasses. To show you these tattoos also look great with glasses I just had to show you this photo.

These come in 6 designs at £4.00 per set, Link. They all look great. I would like to try the design Four Eyeliners. I think you could cut that one also to use with one or two flicks at a time if like me you have smaller eyes.

Have you tried using temporary eye tattoos? Which ones are your favourites? Let me know in the comments below.

FOTD: StarGazer Product Reviews

Hello my Beauty Addicts. It's Friday so let's all have a smile on our faces :) Last week I mentioned that I had been sent quite a few products from Touch Media PR to review so I thought that I would combine a lot of them in a FOTD post to see how they work. They are all from StarGazer.

Left To Right: Eye Dust (45), Liquid Eye Liner (Red), Mascara (Red), Semi Permanent Lip Liner Pen (03) & Gel Glitter (Glitter Red)

This Eye Dust is so pretty, but as with all pigments open and close this on top of a towel or a tissue as the pigment does tend to travel, especially if you are clumsy like me and always knocking things over. I was tempted to try this on my eyes, but I swatched it on my hand before using and realised that the glitter particles in it seemed to separate from the powder so I thought I would try it as a blush instead. I used only the tiniest amount from the lid of the product as this is so intense. It gave a china doll/doll effect to my cheeks. This is a great pigment for just £3.00, Link. I think the glitter particles may pick up better if used on the eye with and eye primer/base. I will have to try that out. This looks very red in the pot, but it showed up as a very hot pink on my cheeks.

Now on to the Liquid Eye Liner. Let me just say that this product is amazeballs. I love it so much. Without fail I can say here and now that I want this in every colour they do and I hope StarGazer bring out more. The formula of this product is like a gel. The brush itself is fairly thick, but I was able to still create a thin line that I thickened more on the wing when applying this look. I wanted this colour to really show up which is why I applied it against a white eye shadow. I did not apply this all the way into the inner part of my eyes. I started about two thirds in and winged it out at the ends. I think this is quite a vampy shade that would have been great at Halloween, but I would wear this at any time of year. I only applied this to the top lash line so that I did not look like that bad morning after a good night, ha ha ;) I think this is so easy to use. I would even recommend this product to someone who is not too familiar with liquid eye liner. Of course you need a fairly steady hand, but because of the gel-like formula it just seems to glide on easier than other liquid eye liners. It does not dry or crack or drag product back off the eye if you go over the same area. Well done StarGazer. This product is an amazing £3.00, Link

Right so let me talk about the Mascara. From my experience of using coloured mascaras they don't usually show up that well unless perhaps the sunlight catches them. I tend to use a black mascara under them first and go over the tips with the coloured one. In this FOTD I used the Red Mascara on it's own on my bottom lashes and the Red Mascara over the top of my black mascara on my top lashes to see the difference. I found that the mascara did actually show up pretty well without the black underneath. My top lashes look a bit clumpy as I tend to get liquid liner on my top lashes when I apply it which makes them go like this. I did try to get it off before applying my mascara. The Red Mascara was a bit gloopy, but it's not the worst mascara I have ever tried. I think it's a bit of fun and for a product that I won't use every day due to the shade I don't think it's bad for £3.00, Link. I would like to see if it would show up better on top of a white mascara, but I don't have one. Perhaps that is something that StarGazer could bring out in the range or make each mascara as a duo with a white mascara at one end and the colour at the other?

So now it's time to talk about the Semi Permanent Lip Liner Pen. This product has been used by Jessica Wright from TOWIE. You can use this product to line the lips or fill in the entire lip. I have had this on for a couple of hours now and had a a coffee. When I kiss my hand there is absolutely no transfer, but some of the product has worn away in the centre of my lips. I think this is a great date night shade, but you will need to reapply it after about two hours, especially when eating and drinking. I would still recommend it though and other shades this comes in look fab. On the StarGazer website shade 04 looks quite natural and nude so that would probably be a better shade to go for if you don't want the fading of product to be as obvious or to reapply as often. This did look a bit streaky when I applied it, but with a gloss this is not noticeable. The tip is sturdy, but not hard. I still like this product and will probably wear it to my Xmas night out with work colleagues tomorrow. I applied a lip balm before applying any of my make-up as I get dry lips. I thought this might be a very drying product, but it's fine on my lips so far. You can buy this for £4.00, Link

I wasn't quite sure where I was meant to use the Glitter Gel, but I thought it might look quite nice over the top of the Lip Liner to make the lips look more pouty. It can be used on the face and body according to the StarGazer website. It turned my lips into a more vibrant shade of red. I think this shade is great for lips at this time of year. I applied this to my hand and then used a lip brush for this as it is a squeezy tube product with a very small nozzle so it might not be so easy to use on the go. It did wake up my lips though giving them a little seasonal sparkle. This product is £3.00, Link.

So here are some FOTD photos without the Eye Dust on the cheeks or the Gel Glitter on the lips ....

Now with the Eye Dust as a blush and Gel Glitter on the lips ....

So that's all the products. I hope you enjoyed the reviews. All of the StarGazer products mentioned above were sent to me for free to review. The other products used in this FOTD are:

Max Factor Ageless Elixir 2 in 1 Foundation + Serum SPF 15 (Light Ivory 40)

Mixed Product Reviews #2

Hey Everyone I hope you are having a good Friday. I have just been cleaning the house and fending off wasps. Yep you heard me right. We thought we had killed off the wasps nests in the loft, but I discovered a couple more flying around the house today and I am not happy as I'm a wimp and usually get my fella to get them. Alas he is at work so I went to McDonald's to use their loo as there is a lively one in the bathroom. It gave me an excuse to treat myself to a naughty lunch, but I would rather the wasps were gone :(

Anyway enough of me boring you with my wasp tales and onto today's post. I have some mixed product reviews for you of things I have used up in October so here we go.

Left To Right:

Boots Time Delay Anti-Ageing Wrinkle Reduce Daily Serum, £8.85 for 50ml

This product says it was £13.27 so I'm not sure if it is only £8.85 for a period of time. I applied this after cleansing and toning my face and neck. I like the way this feels when I apply it to my skin. It has a smooth creamy gel consistency, but is not at all sticky. I have to say that I have not noticed any difference to the fine lines and wrinkles around my face though. It claims to reduce the appearance of pores and smooth lines in just 4 weeks, but this did not happen for me.

Guess Seductive EDT, Various links and prices

This came with the body cream that I purchased from asos some time ago. This is a very sexy and seductive fragrance. I lost the tag/trinket that hangs at the top of the bottle, but you can see it in the link above.

NYX Cosmetics Round Lipstick (Iris), £2.99 or $2.99

For some reason the lipstick snapped off of mine into the lid after I had used about a third of it. I might still try and scoop out the remains to use it with a cotton bud.

Sorry for the poor quality of this photo, but I just couldn't get the camera to focus properly. I would describe this shade as a honey beige nude. It's very creamy and lasts quite well on my lips. I am a very big fan of NYX Cosmetics Round Lipsticks.  I think they are such good value and quality for the price you pay. This is the first one that has ever broken for me so it hasn't turned me off of them at all. There are so many shades to choose from that I know everyone could find something they would like.

Left To Right:

Soap & Glory Scrub 'Em And Leave 'Em Body Buff With Babassu Oil & Sea Salt, £7.50 for 300ml or $18.00 for 10.1 oz

I love the smell of this. It's warming, sexy, girly and comforting. This felt nice to apply as it exfoliated well without being too harsh. I received this as part of a Xmas gift set last year.

Possibility Vanilla Creme Brulee Ultra Rich Shower Gel, Shampoo & Bubble Bath

I picked this up back in July with three other scents from this range. I got mine in Savers where at the time they had these for £1.00 each of 525ml of product. If you Google this product many deals will appear. The scent of this will definitely appeal to vanilla lovers. It is nice, but I find it a little sickly if I use a lot of it. I think it's great value though. I love the idea of the recipe on the bottle, but Creme Brulee does not appeal to me. If you would like to try the recipe however here is a close up.

Superdrug 48 Hour Anti-Perspirant Deodorant Cotton Alcohol Free

I can't remember how much this was and I can't find it on the website, but the men's version is £1.49 for 250ml so I'm guessing it's about the same price. This has a pleasant smell and is great value. The only downside to this product is that once you use it for the first time it probably won't be great to take travelling as there is no lid to it so I imagine it could spray onto your luggage.

Soap & Glory The Daily Smooth Amazingly-Effective Dry Skin Formula Body Butter With Rosehip Seed Oil And Cocoa Butter, £2.50 for 50ml

To try the size I have see the link above. I received this in a gift set last Xmas. I have been using this for a quick spot of moisturisation wherever needed rather than full body moisturising which is why it has lasted quite a while.  A small plum-sized splodge is said to be all that's needed for your whole body though. This appears to have the same scent as the body scrub mentioned above so of course it's yummy.

So that's everything. Please excuse the change in text at the end of this post as Blogger is playing up. I hope you found these reviews helpful. Which products have you tried out recently and what are your thoughts on them? Let me know in the comments below.

 Love to you all
