Mini Haul: 99p Store Fashion & Make-Up

Hi there sweeties. How are you on what is another beautifully sunny day? It's like the weather is teasing us I swear. Today I popped up to town for an appointment and I resisted a shopping spree. With my travelcard in hand I jumped back on the train asap to avoid temptation as unfortunately I am saving really hard so shopping is not an option.

I do occasionally like to find mini treats in the pound shops though so that I pretty much keep those urges at bay. Here I have 2 products that I picked up in the 99p Store.

Top: Brown Plastic Sunglasses with UV 400 protection

I love how these are oversized. Great for hiding under when eye make-up is a no no because you are feeling lazy. Plus you will look oh so stylish.

Bottom: Maybelline WhiteStay UV Whitening Foundation Snow White

I picked this up in the hope of lightening some foundation and bb creams that I already have that are too dark for me as I hate wasting products. I have been on the look out for the white foundation that Barry M do for ages, but I have never seen it in store.

I had no idea that this product appears to have these factors to it:
  • Instantly lightens your skin tone upon application.
  • SPF18 UV filters combines the dual step of sunscreen & foundation.
  • Brightens skin instantly, creates a flawless finish and conceals pores.
  • Suitable for day & night wear.
  • Favoured by celebrities like Beyonce Knowles, Rihanna and Ashwari Rai.
This product is not exactly what I was after, but I am still glad that I picked it up. If you would like a full review on how I find this product works as it seems very interesting to me then please let me know in the comments below.

For £1.98 I am really pleased that I found these two products. Which bargains have you been picking up in the 99p Stores lately? let me know in the comments below.

Next Guest Blogger Competition

Hi there you gorgeous Beauty Addicts. I have woken up a happy bunny this morning as I had a really good birthday yesterday. It was full of great company, great food and great presents. I will share them with you in another post, but for now this one is all about the Next Guest Blogger Competition. It's basically the chance for one person to win three outfits each up to the value of £150 and the opportunity to guest post about their style picks on the Next Blog by answering one of the 3 questions set in the Next stylish challenge.

Here is a link to the competition including the 3 questions, Link.

This is the question that I am going to answer in my post.

What key SS13 trends are you most looking forward to wearing?

I personally think if you are tempted by a trend, but not quite sure how to wear it I always think accessories are a safe bet. They can be really inexpensive and a great way to update your wardrobe in either a subtle or elaborate way. I think sunglasses are a great staple to go for as you will get a lot of use from them (UK residents let's hope so). They are great if the correct shape is found to accentuate your face shape. Just keeping trying them on until you find a pair that enhance your features rather than overwhelm them.

Enamel Flower Rimless Sunglasses ~ £15

These are a great way to tap into the floral trend without being OTT.

Pink Leopard Print Sunglasses ~ £12.50

These are perfect for cool cats.

Now onto a couple of clothing items that I think anyone could wear.

Essential Printed Trousers Leopard ~ £25

Sticking with the animal print theme I think these are a great pair of easy throw on trousers that could be worn with flats or heels. I would also add a simple black or white t-shirt or vest. For cooler times of the day or to just smarten up the look I would add a blazer. A slouchy bag for day and a clutch for night with some simple gold accessories and you are ready to rock. These are comfort and style combined.

Black Jersey Hareem Trousers ~ £18

Now I have always been a bit put off by the hareem trend because of how low slung most of this style are in the crotch area. I don't think that look does much for the the bottom. This pair I think offer a slightly more structured and feminine feel. They are casual yet chic.

To add a pop of colour into your wardrobe while going for cool comfort why not go for a classic style like chinos with a modern colour twist. These have a flattering cut too.

Textured Peplum Top Navy ~ £12

I am a fan of the peplum trend already and I don't see at as one that is going to fade away any time soon. This peplum top is less structured than some styles out there so is very wearable. It comes in various shades, but I picked navy as I think it would suit all skin tones.

Buckle Ankle Sludge Boots Chocolate ~ £65

Every summer I have this vision in my head of a look I would like to wear. It includes boots like this or those of a more cowgirl style with a pretty floral dress and a glowing tan. For some reason I never pull it out of the wardrobe, but I do think it's a look that comes around every year. Will you be rocking the Nevada trend this spring/summer?

I hope you enjoyed this post. I think it's good to try new trends, but I will never wear something just because it is trending at the time. This is why I tried to find items for this post from the Next website that are wearable too.

If you wish to enter this competition yourself than you must do so by 3pm 31st January 2013. Good luck to those who do!

Have you entered this Next competition or will you? Which trends are you going to be wearing this Spring/Summer? Let me know in the comments below.

New Look/Primark Haul

Hey lovelies, I hope you are well? I found what I think are some little bargains from both New Look and Primark. New Look have a sale on at the moment and Primark have some great finds too.

I will start with my New Look goodies. I found these sleeveless blouses which I think will be great for work in the summer. For you busty girls out there these are great as they do not have buttons, you simply pop them over your head. I always find these kind of blouses so hard to find and I bet I'm not the only one who has had that 'I'm all alone in this changing room with no one to help me get out of this moment'. I did not get trapped at all in these so it's all good, haa haa. They naturally fall open at the top without revealing too much and are nice and cool for the summertime. They hang lower at the back with a curve and straight across at the front. These were all reduced from £19.99 to £10 each which was my perfect excuse for buying all three. The blue one is from the tall section. I am a real shorty, but I actually preferred the length and fit of this one.

Now on to my Primark treats. Starting with the accessories. These 4 hair bows were just £1. A subtle way of doing leopard if the animal print trend scares you or go for the pink if you just fancy a touch of colour. I can't wait to try this holographic glitter eyeliner which was also £1. I think it will work well by itself for a bit of sparkle or over the top of a black/coloured eyeliner for a more dramatic look. The simple diamante cross was £1.50. An easy to throw on with anything necklace.

On to these fun sunnies. They were all only £1 each. The polka dot pair feel quite 50's and the others fit in with the colour block trend. Believe it or not they are from the men's section. I bought a great pair of silver aviators from the men's section at Topshop many years ago and they fit me perfectly so don't be afraid to take a peep in the men's for the odd find. You never know you might just make it work for you.

Lastly, I have been on the look out for a really soft baseball jacket that wasn't too fitted for such a long time. I also didn't want it to be cropped. Well I guess you know what I found? It was again in the men's section, but the fit, feel, look and length were a lot better than the ladies one I originally picked up.

I realise these jackets will not be everyone's cup of tea, but I like to have these to throw on for a casual day or just when I need something cosy. I suppose you noticed that I bought 3 again. I do this a lot so don't be surprised.

I hope you are all having a good day.

Love to you all
