NAILS: PASTEL DUO

Hi there loves. It's been pretty good weather over the Bank Holiday weekend which has been unusual for us Brits so I hope you all have enjoyed it.

I have a wee NOTD post for you of a duo that I think is perfect for pastel lovers.

I applied one coat of base coat followed by 2 coats of each of these nail shades and finished with a nail drying spray.

Mod About You is a very pale milky pink. It's currently on offer at Amazon for a bargain £6.99.

Pale Purple seems to be now known as Berry Ice Cream so I hope it's the same shade. I have linked to Superdrug above as they currently have a 3 for 2 offer on. This is sold out online, but you will hopefully find it in store.

Let me know your favourite pastel shades in the comments below.

HOT CROSS BUN PASTEL SPRING EASTER NAILS

Hello again lovelies. I painted my nails yesterday feeling inspired by spring and Easter time and here they are.

Please excuse this not so in focus photo. Pastel shades always make a comeback at this time of year and so I wanted to include a mixture of them in this manicure. I thought the nude shade would be perfect to use under my hot cross bun stripes which my boyfriend pointed out should be vertical and horizontal, but oh well I think that's just being picky, ha ha. I wanted my nails to have a sprinkle of glitter too for a speckled effect. As these shades were quite milky I applied three coats of each for a dense colour pay off after my base coat. I used a white striper for the hot cross bun stripes and finished off with a nail drying spray.

Products Used:

It looks as though the E.L.F. and StarGazer polishes may have been discontinued, but hopefully you can find them on Ebay or Amazon. Alternatively you can use similar a similar nude and shimmer to recreate this look. The StarGazer striper I purchased a long time ago in a set so I would search online for that too as I think you can also buy them individually.

If you have created any spring time and/or Easter inspired nails please leave links in the comments below.

NOTD: Barry M Nail Paint Pale Purple (308)

Hi there lovely people and welcome back. I hope you are having a great week so far. On Saturday evening I painted my nails with a pretty nail shade that I'd like to show you.

I applied one coat of my Rimmel base coat followed by two coats of this Barry M Nail Paint in the shade Pale Purple (308). I applied this late at night by a lamp so I would say this is hard to make a mistake with. For those of you that like your pastel shades this ones for you. A very pretty pastel lilac for the summer time. This will be the perfect accent to those floral summer dresses. I think it will also work well with other pastel shades if you want to mix and match colours. This manicure was finished off with my Elegant Touch Rapid Dry Nail Spray.

You can pick up this 10ml Barry M nail shade for £2.99 from Barry M although shade 308 now appears to be called Berry Ice Cream. You should also be able to find this product in most Boots and Superdrug stores.

Do you have this nail paint? Is Berry Ice Cream the same colour as Pale Purple? Please let myself and others know in the comments below.

Are you a fan of lilac shades? If so, which ones are your favourites? Which Barry M Nail Paints do you most like and why? Let me know in the comments below.

NOTD: Golden Summer Sand By The Sea

Hi Everyone. It's such a gorgeous day today I hope it stays like this. Today I have a NOTD post for you of my current manicure.

I applied one coat of my Rimmel base coat followed by two coats of this 2true Fast Dry Colour Quick Nail Polish in Shade 15. I have never tried a 2true Nail Polish before. I love this shade. It's such a true pastel blue. Great for spring/summer. For those who have tried 2true Nail Polishes before this has a new flat brush design. It did apply really well with two coats, but the brush does pick up a lot of product so I had to be careful not to apply too much to each nail. I can not find this shade on the Superdrug website, but I can tell you this was £1.99 for 7ml, Link.

I then applied one coat of the Amy Childs Nail Polish in Star Struck over the top. I picked this up at the Vitality Show recently. You can see that post here. This is a gorgeous shimmering golden shade like the summer sand. You can purchase this nail polish of 10ml for £5.00 or two shades for £8.50 at the moment, Link. You can also for £20.00 buy a box set of Amy's five nail shades, Link.

This manicure really does make me think of a day at the beach. I wish I was there right now. What are your favourite nail shades and/or nail combinations for spring/summer? Let me know in the comments below.

Love to you all

NOTD: Essie Dupes For £1

Hey Everyone. How are you doing? I painted my nails this week with some fantastic shades of nail colour that I am really excited about so let me show you.

MUA Nail Polish In Left: Natural Days & Right: Pistachio Ice Cream

I first applied one coat of my Rimmel base coat and painted alternate nails with the two above polishes. They are both a bit streaky when first applied, but with patience and working pretty quickly as they do dry quite fast they came out perfectly. I painted two coats of Pistachio Ice Cream and three coats of Natural Days. I always find that the milkier the nail polish is in shade the more coats that are need so this is often the case with whites and light pinks.

As you can see the bottles look like dupes of the Essie Nail Polishes. I went onto the Essie website to compare these shades an found that Pistachio Ice Cream looks similar to Mint Candy Apple. Natural Days I would say looks closest to the shade Fiji. Both of these shades I know are quite popular. You can buy the Essie Nail Polishes in lots of places now, but here is a link to Fiji and Mint Candy Apple where they are sold for £7.99 each at Superdrug. The MUA range is also sold at Superdrug only. I could not find these on the website, but they have new stickers on them and I haven't seen them in there before. These were only £1.00 each.

Now I have never tried Essie nail polish so I can't compare the quality, but these work well enough for me and I love the colours so I am happy at saving £6.99 on each nail polish. I tried my best to compare the shades on line so if you think there are shades in the Essie range that match more closely to these MUA ones then please say in the comments below so that I and others will know. I also finished off the manicure with my Elegant Touch Rapid Dry Nail Spray.

I am loving this pastel combination which is great for spring. If MUA bring out more great dupes like this I will be a very happy bunny :) Have you tried any shades from this range and any from Essie? If yes, how do they compare? What are your favourite pastel combinations? Let me know in the comments below.

Love to you all
