ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK MAKE-UP

Hi sweeties. In my last post I shared with you a wearable Halloween outfit for day or night. The make-up look from that post is inspired by Alex Vause from Orange Is The New Black so here it is.

NYX THE CARIBBEAN COLLECTION I DREAM OF ST. KITT PALETTE (THREE LIGHTEST SHADES)

99P STORE FATE LIPSTICK (FROM PACK OF THREE)

I realise that my lips are lighter than the Alex Vause picture, but I wanted a brighter look. To be honest the winged liner is more of what I wanted to bring out in this look.

Let me know what you think of this FOTD/FOTN look in the comments below and don't forget to check out my WEARABLE HALLOWEEN FASHION OUTFIT also.

NAILS: PASTEL DUO

Hi there loves. It's been pretty good weather over the Bank Holiday weekend which has been unusual for us Brits so I hope you all have enjoyed it.

I have a wee NOTD post for you of a duo that I think is perfect for pastel lovers.

I applied one coat of base coat followed by 2 coats of each of these nail shades and finished with a nail drying spray.

Mod About You is a very pale milky pink. It's currently on offer at Amazon for a bargain £6.99.

Pale Purple seems to be now known as Berry Ice Cream so I hope it's the same shade. I have linked to Superdrug above as they currently have a 3 for 2 offer on. This is sold out online, but you will hopefully find it in store.

Let me know your favourite pastel shades in the comments below.

HOT CROSS BUN PASTEL SPRING EASTER NAILS

Hello again lovelies. I painted my nails yesterday feeling inspired by spring and Easter time and here they are.

Please excuse this not so in focus photo. Pastel shades always make a comeback at this time of year and so I wanted to include a mixture of them in this manicure. I thought the nude shade would be perfect to use under my hot cross bun stripes which my boyfriend pointed out should be vertical and horizontal, but oh well I think that's just being picky, ha ha. I wanted my nails to have a sprinkle of glitter too for a speckled effect. As these shades were quite milky I applied three coats of each for a dense colour pay off after my base coat. I used a white striper for the hot cross bun stripes and finished off with a nail drying spray.

Products Used:

It looks as though the E.L.F. and StarGazer polishes may have been discontinued, but hopefully you can find them on Ebay or Amazon. Alternatively you can use similar a similar nude and shimmer to recreate this look. The StarGazer striper I purchased a long time ago in a set so I would search online for that too as I think you can also buy them individually.

If you have created any spring time and/or Easter inspired nails please leave links in the comments below.

NOTD: Barry M Nail Paint Pale Purple (308)

Hi there lovely people and welcome back. I hope you are having a great week so far. On Saturday evening I painted my nails with a pretty nail shade that I'd like to show you.

I applied one coat of my Rimmel base coat followed by two coats of this Barry M Nail Paint in the shade Pale Purple (308). I applied this late at night by a lamp so I would say this is hard to make a mistake with. For those of you that like your pastel shades this ones for you. A very pretty pastel lilac for the summer time. This will be the perfect accent to those floral summer dresses. I think it will also work well with other pastel shades if you want to mix and match colours. This manicure was finished off with my Elegant Touch Rapid Dry Nail Spray.

You can pick up this 10ml Barry M nail shade for £2.99 from Barry M although shade 308 now appears to be called Berry Ice Cream. You should also be able to find this product in most Boots and Superdrug stores.

Do you have this nail paint? Is Berry Ice Cream the same colour as Pale Purple? Please let myself and others know in the comments below.

Are you a fan of lilac shades? If so, which ones are your favourites? Which Barry M Nail Paints do you most like and why? Let me know in the comments below.

NOTD: St Patrick's Day Inspired

Hello Beautifuls. I have just a wee post for you today to get into the spirit of St Patrick's Day.

I painted one coat of my Rimmel base coat followed by two coats of this Barry M Nail Paint in the shade Spring Green (290). This goes on smoothly and has a lovely finish. Statement nails without a lot of effort. Unfortunately this is not showing up exact in colour in this photo. It's more of a deeper green with an almost blue undertone. It is still very bold though. I tried to photo edit the colour, but I just couldn't get it to show the true shade sorry. Here is a link where you can buy this for £2.75. I finished off this manicure with my Elegant Touch Rapid Dry Spray.

Are you celebrating St Patrick's Day today? If so, how? Do you have any favourite Barry M Nail Paint shades? Let me know in the comments below.

NOTD: One Shade Of Grey

Well hello Beauty Addicts. I hope you are all enjoying a rather chilled out Sunday. I woke up with a banging headache, but it was self inflicted. Instead of our usual lunch time Xmas meal out at work we decided to go bowling. We played 2 games and had burger and chips included for just £15. It was so much fun, especially with the night time lights and cool tunes. A few of us girls then went on to a bar/club to have a few drinks and dance the night away. It's a shame the weather was so rubbish, but it was worth it. Did you all have a good Saturday night?

I painted my nails and took photos, but with the evening light the photos didn't come out to well so I took some more this morning for this NOTD post. Please excuse the slight chipping as that's the trauma of bowling :)

I applied one coat of my Alessandro Pro White as a base, followed by two coats of this Barry M Nail Paint in the shade Grey (293). As with all Barry M Nail Paints I always get a very finished manicure. With two coats the job is done. No streaking, no fuss. I finished off with one coat of my Nails Inc. Kensington Caviar Topcoat that I received in my November GlossyBox. As you can see this manicure lasted very well through two games of bowling. You can pick this Nail Paint up for £2.75 in this link.

Are you into any shades of grey for your nails? Do you have any Barry M favourites? Let me know in the comments below.

Mixed Product Reviews #1

Hi Lovelies. I have been having a little think and rather than showing you all of my 'Empties' I am just going to show you the products that I haven't reviewed before otherwise I feel like I am boring you by showing you the same products again and again. So here are my reviews :)

Left To Right:

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser, Various prices in link

This product I received as part of a gift set from my boyfriend. It came with a muslin cloth that I intend to keep and re-use. The muslin cloth is washable. I have the pump bottle, but you can buy this in a tube form. The way to use this product is to massage one or two pumps over the face and neck. Then warm the muslin cloth in warm water, squeeze the excess water out and gently wipe over the face and neck. Repeat as necessary and follow with your usual skincare routine. This is said to 'swiftly remove all traces of face and eye make up, even stubborn mascara'. Now I would say this pretty much does that for me, but for some reason mascara is something really hard for me to remove no matter what I use. I do enjoy this product though and would certainly recommend it. The cream itself combined with the muslin cloth smooth over the skin nicely. When I first used this I was a bit scared as I thought the cloth might be too abrasive for my skin, but I use it every day which is something I would never do with the usual facial exfoliators as my skin just can't take it. My skin does feel very refreshed and clean using this product so if you are on the lookout for a great cleanser/make-up remover check this out.

Rodial Glamoxy Snake Serum, £127.00 for 25ml

I received this product in my September GlossyBox. This felt like a nice serum to use, but I did not notice the 'freeze-like effect' that this product claims. I really didn't want to look like I had had a surgical procedure so I was quite relieved, but I think this product does not justify the price at all.

Yon-Ka Pamplemousse Protective and Vitalizing Cream Normal to Oily Skin, $38.75 for 1.7oz

I received this product in my June JolieBox. This is meant for normal to oily skin whereas mine is dry, but it did work fine. It has quite a zesty scent to it.

Pure Revitalising Daily Moisturiser, £1.00 for 200ml

I have used this for a while. It's cheap and cheerful and does a good enough job for £1.00. I have used this as a body moisturiser also when I ran out. It has a nice creamy scent.

Left To Right:

Sure Women Long Lasting Protection Clear Aqua Crystal 48 Hour Active Anti-Perspirant,
£1.29 for 150ml

I bought this at my local Tesco garage when I ran out of anti-perspirant, but it's actually quite nice. I would have preferred the can to have more feminine colours, but the scent of this product is feminine. I can not comment on the 48 Hour claim as I wash before 48 hours is up, ha ha.

Pink Disposable Razor, 99p for loads at 99p Stores

I bought this razor as part of a pack of about 30 which I thought for 99p I should give a try. Let me tell you that this was just awful. I am always up for a bargain, but this thing was beyond useless. I went over and over and over my legs with this thing. I felt like I was wasting my time and I pretty much was. This barely removed any hairs. It's pink, but that's all I like about it.

Blue Disposable Razor, Price unknown

I picked these up almost straight after trying the pink razor above. I got this blue razor as part of a pack of about 4-6 razors from the Co-Op. I think these were about £7.00 for the pack. There were no razors that looked like women's in there so I think this is meant for a man, but it actually works really well. The head pivots slightly to manoeuvre around the contours of your body easily. Are men's razors better perhaps?

Macleans Ice Whitening Gel Toothpaste, £2.13 for 100ml

This was a refreshing toothpaste, but I didn't notice the whitening effects and I hate screw tops.

Hello Kitty Bubble Gum Mouthwash, 90p for 237ml

I love this product. My Mum bought this for me and I just love using it. It does taste like bubble gum, it's pink, it's Hello Kitty, it makes me feel like a child. WIN, WIN, WIN :) I picked up another bottle yesterday. This is sugar and alcohol free.

Left To Right:

Soap & Glory Clean On Me Creamy Moisture Shower Gel,
£5.50 for 500ml

In the link above it's shown as a clarifying rather than moisture shower gel. It looks like the same product, but please let me know if you know different. I received this as part of a gift set for Xmas. I really like pump design. It's especially handy in the shower. It has that classic soap and glory creamy scent. You can find this in various links on Ebay in travel sizes too.

Roger & Gallet Fleur d'Osmanthus Foaming Shower Honey, £9.99 for 250ml

This was given to me for free when I attended the Roger & Gallet Blogger Evening. This is a very fresh and comforting scent. It feels lovely on the skin. I did get through this really quickly though, but I do apply wash products quite liberally.

Roger & Gallet Bois D'Orange Refreshing Fragrant Bath & Shower Gel, $23.00 for 8.4oz or £10.80 for 250ml

This was given to me for free at the same event mentioned above. This is really nice and citrusy. It feels nice on the skin, but again I seemed to get through it very quickly. I tried this in both the shower and bath.

Champneys Moisture Miracle Skin Comforting Bath Milk, £8.00 for 300ml

The bottle looks different in the link above, but I believe it to be the same product. This was given to me by a friend. This has that really baby soft, creamy feel and scent to it. Just lovely.

Left To Right:

Guess Seductive Body Cream, £14.30 for 200ml or £20.80 with a 30ml EDT

I bought this for myself ages ago along with the EDT that I am still using. I purchased my gift set from asos in the January sales. I love this scent. It's sexy and seductive without being in your face. It was a nice cream too.

Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter Body Lotion, £10.00 for 500ml or 16.2oz or $20.00

This I received as part of the same gift set that the shower gel mentioned above was in last Xmas. I have used the body butter version of this and they both have that adorable, classic Soap & Glory scent. I prefer the lotion as it I find it much nicer to use this pump design rather than digging my finger nails into a tub of product. The only bad thing is when it neared the end I had to use the pump to scoop it out as the pump wasn't picking up the product.

Pure Fiji Exotic Bath and Body Oil, £24.50 for 236ml or $19.95

I received this product in my April JolieBox. I'm not a massive fan of oils on the body usually, but I do love a good back massage and so I would get my fella to use this on me for that purpose (minds out of the gutter people)! I adore the scent of this and I think my fella does too. It is a holiday in a bottle.

Roger & Gallet Bois D'Orange Moisturizing Refreshing Fragrant Body Lotion, £11.50 for 200ml or $24.90

I received this product for free at the Roger & Gallet Blogger Evening. This was a lovely cream to use and has the same scent as the Bath & Shower Gel mentioned above. I can't believe how quickly I used up these Roger & Gallet products.

Left To Right:

Morrisons Approx 200 Cotton Buds, Price unknown

I'm sorry I can't remember how much these were, but they were really cheap. I'm always a bit wary of using cheap cotton buds in my ears in case the bud comes off. It has happened to me once and it freaked me out. These however were fine for that purpose and for make-up touch ups.

Primark Beauty Nail Polish Remover Wipes (25 Pads), £1.00 for 3 tubs I think?

I received these for Xmas and I think they came in a pack of three tubs. They do a pretty good job of removing the average nail polish, but they don't do so well with glitter. I'm not much of a fan of how oily they are. The pads are quite thin though and easy to fold which is good for cleaning up the edges after painting on my manicure.

Barry M Nail Paint 244 Holograms, £2.75 for 10ml

I have had this nail paint for a long, long time and alas I went to use it the other day and it's all dried up :( I love the multi-coloured hexograms in this product. They are perfect to add sparkle to any nail colour.

So that's the lot. I hope you prefer me showing you only products you haven't seen on my blog before in my monthly reviews. As you can see there are still plenty of products to show you.

What have you loved and loathed of late? Let me know in the comments below.

Love to you all

It's Been Nice Knowing You

Hi All. I hope you are all looking forward to some fun and frolics this weekend. It's payday for me, but I am trying to be good as this home owner stuff gets pretty expensive, ha ha ;)

The title of this post is not to tell you I am ditching my wee blog, but to say farewell to a product I have had for a few years that has done me proud, but sadly is on it's way out :( This is my NOTD post.

I applied one coat of my Alessandro Pro White Original, followed by one coat of my Barry M Nail Paint in the shade 279 - Bright Pink. I have had this Nail Paint for years and enjoyed it's pink pop of candy colour many times. I do have a fondness for Barry M Nail Paints, but unfortunately my nail collection is now a mass of products and this beauty has gone all gloopy so I thought I would apply the shade to my nails this one last time to show you this Barbie-tastic colour. Please excuse the purple nail colour on the bottle. I only applied one coat as it's gone so gloopy now this was the best I could do so apologies for the uneven manicure. I sprayed my nails with a rapid drying nail spray too.

If you like this Barry M Nail Paint I have managed to find it on scentsationalperfumes.com for £2.66 in their current sale with free UK delivery.

Have you got any nail shades that you love that are on their last legs? Let me know in the comments below.

Love to you all

NOTD: London 2012 Olympics Inspired

Ello again. With the London 2012 Olympics fast approaching I felt inspired to get a bit creative with a NOTD post so here goes.

Firstly I applied one coat of my usual Rimmel base coat. I then applied two coats of my Miss Sporty Clubbing Colours 1 Minute Metal Shine Nail Polish in Gold Backstage. I thought gold would be a great background shade as the Olympics is all about going for gold. You can pick up this shade on miss-sporty.co.uk for £1.99

I then applied a blob of my Miss Sporty Clubbing Colours Quick Dry Nail Polish in the shade Pop Fiction to a pad of lined paper. You can use kitchen towels for this step if you prefer. I have had this pad for ages. I think I bought it at Poundland. They have a similar pad for £1.00 here. This blue shade you can buy from boots.com for £1.99. Boots currently have a 2 for £3.00 offer on selected Miss Sporty Nail Polish also.

I then dipped the end of one of these straws into the blob of nail polish and stippled this onto my nail over the gold polish and repeated this process until I was happy with the pattern. I bought these straws a while ago I believe from Poundland as well. They currently have these pack of 250 red, blue and white straws for £1.00. Red, blue and white is so appropriate for the London Olympics.

I repeated this process on the next nail using the other end of the straw and my China Glaze Nail Lacquer in the shade Yellow Polka Dot Bikini. This shade is quite a highlighter colour. It is quite a thin formula. I found this on amazon.co.uk for £5.95 and amazon.com for $5.25.

I then snipped one of the used ends of the straw rather than wasting another one and stippled on this E.L.F. Nail Polish in the shade Black. You can buy this nail polish from eyeslipsface.co.uk for £2.50.

I did the same thing on the next nail using my Barry M Nail Paint in the shade Spring Green. You can buy this shade for £2.99 from superdrug.com. Superdrug also have the offer of buy 2 save £1.00. You can also buy this shade from barrym.com for £2.99. Please note on the Barry M website this shade is shown as np290.

My last nail shade that I stippled with is the Barry M Nail Paint Bright Red. You can buy this shade from boots.com for £2.99barrym.com for £2.99 where it is shown as shade np262 or superdrug.com for £2.99 or buy 2 save £1.00.

I finished off the look with a spray of my Elegant Touch Rapid Dry Spray.

Left Hand

Right Hand

I tried to find nail shades to represent the Olympic symbols and I quite like how stippling circles of these shades has worked out. I like the way these patterns look.

What do you think of this design? Have you created any Olympic inspired nail art? Will you be attending the Olympics?

NOTD: Barry M Buzz Nail Paint

Hey Loves. I have the day off work today as I have a few things to do and I need to get ready to go to a cosmetics launch later. It's my first blogging event so I am both very nervous and excited :) I hope if any of you see me there you will come and say hello. Now on to this NOTD post I have for you.

I applied one coat of my usual Rimmel base coat, followed by two coats of this Barry M Buzz Nail Paint, then one coat of my Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat. This Barry M Nail Paint came out as part of a gift set last year with The Sun's Buzz Magazine. This Buzz Nail Paint is a really nice rose brown shade. I only painted this on last night and took this photo today. Usually I don't get chipping so easily with Barry M Nail Paints, especially when I apply my Seche Vite Top Coat, but my nail tips are already showing through. I would still recommend this shade though as it's quite neutral to suit most peoples tastes and just about any outfit. You can pick it up at ebay.co.uk for £1.95 plus delivery.

Did you pick up this Nail Paint when it was out last year? Do you like it?

Love to you all

NOTD: Barry M Nail Paint (Blueberry 306)

Hello Loves. Yay, it's a Bank Holiday weekend which makes me go whoop whoop! I have a wee post for you today showing you my current nail colour.

I firstly applied one coat of my usual Rimmel base coat. I then applied two coats of my Barry M Nail Paint (Blueberry 306). This is a gorgeous sky blue nail colour that is quite thick in consistency which gives a lovely opaque finish. I finished off this look with one coat of my Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat. This helps to seal my nail paint and make my nails nice and shiny. On the Barry M website shade 306 is called Blueberry Ice Cream for £2.99, Link :) and on the Boots Pharmacy website shade 306 is called Ice Cream Blue for £2.99, Link :). I am not sure if these are the same as my shade, but they have the same shade number.

Does anyone know if either of the nail shades mentioned above are the same as mine? What are your favourite Barry M Nail Paints?

Love to you all

NOTD: St Patrick's Day/Mother's Day Inspired

Hey my loves. To those who celebrate it 'Happy St Patrick's Day'. Because of the St Patrick's Day and Mother's Day celebrations both falling on this weekend I thought I would create a nail design with both of those in mind.

Firstly I applied my usual Rimmel base coat. I then applied my Barry M Nail Paint in Mint Green (304) with two coats. This nail paint is available for £2.99, Link :)

I then wrote the 'I' and 'MUM' parts on this nail only using my StarGazer Nail Art Pen (White). This is available for £3.00, Link :)

I then drew a heart next to the 'I' using my StarGazer Nail Art Pen (Red) which is also £3.00, Link :)

So here is the finished design. I left all of my other nails with just the mint green shade. As you may be able to see there are a couple of air bubbles formed on my nail design. Be aware of this if you are going to try using nail art pens as while keeping a steady hand and squeezing the product out this can easily happen.

My Mum has been away since Wednesday and will return tomorrow. We don't really have any plans for Mother's Day except I will make her dinner and I might paint her nails. I hope that all of you celebrating with your Mum's have a lovely day tomorrow and if you are a Mum yourself make sure that you get thoroughly spoiled. If you have unfortunately lost your Mum then I hope tomorrow you will do something nice for you and remember the good things about her.

Love to you all

NOTD: I'm Feeling Blue

Hi All. I feel sweet because the sun is shining. I love that summer feeling. I have a NOTD post for you today. I am not in a mood or sad, but I am feeling blue.

Barry M Nail Paint (291)

I firstly applied one coat of my Rimmel base coat. I then applied two coats of Barry M Nail Paint (291), followed by one coat of my Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat. As I have said before I love Barry M Nail Paints as they apply well, are very opaque and the paint lasts for about a week on me as long as I apply my top coat. My Nail Paint only has a number and no name, but on the website 291 is shade Cobalt Blue. It looks like the same Nail Paint so here is a Link :) This product retails at £2.99 which is such great value.

Have you found any great nail shades lately? Are you into blues?

Love to you all

NOTD: Say It With Kisses

Hello Petals. I have another NOTD post for you today. This one is Valentine's Day inspired. So I will get straight into it.

Firstly I applied my usual Rimmel base coat. I then applied two coats of the Barry M Nail Paint (Pale Purple 308). I'm not sure if it's still available, but you may be able to find it on Ebay or Amazon? You can use any pale purple shade though or if you really like Barry M Nail Paints I would try Berry Ice Cream as it appears to be in the same shade family, Link :)

I then painted on a french tip using the Barry M Nail Paint (Peach Melba 318), Link :). I applied two coats to give an opaque finish. I love the combination of these two colours together. These candy colours are quite on trend at the moment also. I really like the thickness of Barry M Nail Paints and for £2.99 each they are such a bargain.

As this look is Valentine's Day inspired I thought it would be cute to add some kisses along the french tip part of the nail. I used this blue Nail Art Varnish Polish Brush Pen to apply three simple crosses/kisses to each nail. I applied two coats to make sure that they stood out against the Peach Melba shade. I picked up this product at a show. It says on the back of the bottle it's from fraulein38.com, Link :). I have also found some of their products on Amazon, Link :). You can use any blue nail art striper to create this look though.

I took these photos before applying my Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat to seal the look. I think this is a nice alternative look to the usual pinks and reds.

Have you come up with any nail art that is Valentine's Day inspired? Let me know in the comments below.

Love to you all
