FANCY AN ORANGEASM?

Ello ello beauties. This is my final post for today as I have been on a bit of roll reviewing all of my empties. This post includes body washes and a massage oil.

I received this product in a gift set for my birthday here. The pink beads in this shower gel are not harsh at all and instead the mixture turns into a lovely sliky soft foaming gel. My skin felt lovely after using this and the scent is beautifully floral in a very light way.

I received this product in the SWEET TREATS GLOSSYBOX. The ginger lemongrass and orange essential oils in this product really awakens the senses, but also relaxes you at the same time. It's great at nourishing and softening the skin. It can be used in the bath or shower, but I shared it with my boyfriend as a back massgae oil and it worked great at putting me into a relaxed trance.

This came in the gift set Mum bought me for Xmas. I really enjoyed the zesty scent of this body wash. It's a great reviver for the senses with fresh green mandarin, sicilian lemon and sweet orange peel oils. It certainly did put a smile on my face every day ;)

So let me in on your current favourite body washes and massage oils in the comments below.

Love to you all

GLOSSYBOX: NOV 14

Hi beauties and welcome back today for another beauty filled post. I received my Nov 14 GlossyBox a little while ago, but I am only just showing it to you now as I have been mental busy so apologies.

A retractable deeply pigmented, long lasting eye pencil. A creamy formula that is easy to blend for a smoky effect. Contains Vitamin E.

I like the pencil's packaging. It's cute with a pale pink hue much like the GlossyBox itself, but with a wild animal print. It is retractable and the formula feels creamy. It is black, but I would say more of a mid-toned black as I have seen darker black eye pencils. I think it would work well for a smokey effect arond the eyes though.

A 100% natural, sheer colour with a wax formula that glides on for a sweet and super shiny glassy finish.

The finish is very glossy on the lips and feels very nourishing. I have the pink shade wink which looks very natural. These are sheer lip glosses though so I wouldn't expect much colour pay off. Perhaps more so with the red/plum shades of pucker or smooch? The scent is a little too sickly sweet for me.

An oil free moisturising gel for deep hydration while minimising the appearance of fine lines. Can be worn for 5 mins as a masque and also kept in the fridge prior to application for a cooling sensation.

Sounds soothing so I am looking forward to trying this.

An invigorating, warming facial oil to balance oily skin, soften and decongest pores.

I am a little dissappointed that once again I have been given a product meant for oily skin when my GlossyBox profile clearly states I have dry skin. I will however try this product.

A luxurious hair oil to add shine and hydration to the hair. This lightweight formula leaves no oily residue.

Hopefully this will be a great hair treat!

So far I am not blown away by this GlossyBox, but these are only my first impressions.

SWEET TREATS GLOSSYBOX

Hi there everyone and Happy Easter Sunday! It may be a dull and wet day, but for most of you I hope there is another day off tomorrow so it's all good. I have my April GlossyBox products to show you today. This box is called 'Sweet Treats'.

EMITE MAKE UP LIP BRUSH (L312) ~ £17

I have never seen a slanted lip brush like this before. The synthetic taklon hair is very smooth and will hopefully keep its shape well. It's allergy free and supposed to be easy to clean. I could not find this product on the Emite website so I have not added a link.

Guaranteed to restore elasticity and suppleness leaving you with skin that feels nourished, soft and thoroughly pampered. With a mixture of aromatic essential oils to uplift, awaken, refresh and energise. Relaxing the body and revitalising tired muscles. Paraben free. Suitable for all skin types.

Add a small amount to your bath or under the shower before rinsing as the oil will emulsify into a milk leaving no oily residue on the skin. Can also be used as a regular massage oil.

This smells spicy with a slight lemon zest. It looks more like a loose liquid than other body oils.

This is a multi-purpose product designed to illuminate and highlight. Can be used on cheekbones or on brow bones to highlight. Apply under blusher for a natural dewy glow or mix with foundation for a subtle shimmer.

I am in love with this product already and I have only tried it on my hand. This has a gorgeous glow that looks very natural when blended out like you just have healthy skin. The shade is a pearly pink which looks more white or pink in different lighting. The swatch shown above is one swipe of solid colour not blended. When left to dry this swatch gave a very strong pigmented colour. I would actually love to try this on my lips for a statement look and possibly even on the eye lids, but I am not sure if it would crease. It appears to have pretty good staying power as I rubbed this swatch once dried and most of the product stayed put.

To keep hair fresh between washes this product absorbs oil and adds volume.

Shake the can vigorously. Lift hair in sections, spraying roots outwards. Let the product absorb into the hair and massage in.

Dry shampoos are always handy to have not only for days when you don't want to wash your hair, but for an added volume boost.

This product has been produced to visibly correct the look of deep and vertical wrinkles as if filled. To give you a happier less sad and tired appearance. This moisturiser is suitable for all skin types including sensitive skin.

Apply to face and neck day and night alone or with your usual daily moisturiser.

Due to high pure retinol content please note!

When using this product it is advised to use an SPF of at least 15 during the day. Avoid sun exposure or artificial UV exposure. Do not use in conjunction with other retinoid products. Space out to using every two days if you have feelings of discomfort in the early days of use to allow the skin to become used to the retinol. Avoid the delicate eye area.

This sounds like quite a strong product which I will try out, but I am confused that it is suitable for all skin types due to the warnings. If I had really problematic sensitive skin I may be a little nervous trying this, but it does advise to ease your skin into using it so I guess its down to each individual to decide if it's right for them.

Suitable for all skin types and sensitive eyes. Illuminating eye contours for a more youthful appearance as well as fortifying the lashes. Hypoallergenic and paraben free.

Apply with fingertips gently to the eye contours.

Hopefully this will be great for tired eye days. I guess that it can be applied to the lashes in the same way, but the Boots website doesn't really advise on this so if anyone knows please advise in the comments below.

The stand out product for me in this month's box so far is the MeMeMe Cosmetics product.

Facial Skincare: 4 Product Reviews

Hi lovelies and happy 1st of December! Oh my gosh the panic is setting in a little bit as I haven't bought any Xmas presents yet, eek! Oh well it always works out in the end.

Today's post is focused on facial skincare products.

T-Zone Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Exfoliating Facial Wipes ~ 99p for 20 wipes

I believe that I picked these up in the 99p Store. I thought these would be a good quick and easy step in my skincare routine to remove dirt and make-up, plus they have the added plus of being naturally anti-bacterial due to the tea tree and witch hazel. I don't think these worked any better than other regular facial wipes and to be honest I found the scent of them quite overpowering.

I received this product in my Pearl Lowe Spring Fever GlossyBox back in April. You can find full information on this product in that link. My first impression of this product was fab. It gives skin that lovely been out in the sun glow like a natural skin tint. I was however left disappointed as a big let down for me is that the product ends up flaking on my skin, even without make-up or anything else on top. I get these rolled up bits of product on my face making me look quite scaly. I have tried this on and off at different times to see if my skin was just being hormonal, but it does it every time. This also says free sample on the back so that's quite naughty GlossyBox!

This product I received in my October 2012 DIY Beauty GlossyBox. I can't believe it was that long ago, but I always get around to using products eventually. My first impressions and full product information are in the link above. I don't have anything to fault about this moisturiser, but then I don't particularly have very wrinkly skin at the moment. It felt lovely and smooth to apply.

Another GlossyBox product that I received in my June 2013 Summer Looks box. Full product information in that link. I wouldn't say that this particularly blurred my imperfections, but it did sink into my skin nicely. If you like cold creams you will like this. It kind of perks you up as you apply it.

So that's it for my facial skincare reviews today. I never enjoy giving negative reviews, but I hope that by always being honest and letting you know the pros and cons that I find in products you will hopefully find something that works for you. Always remember that what works for my skin though may or may not work for yours.

What are your favourite facial skincare products at the moment? Let me know in the comments below.

Dark Romance GlossyBox

Hi there my loves and yay for Friday :) Today I have my latest GlossyBox products to show you. This box is titled Dark Romance as with Halloween and the winter months creeping up on us it's time to delve into the dark side.

MeMeMe Cherub's Blush Cheek & Lip Tint, £5.50 for 12ml

A tint to add a flirty flush to the cheeks and/or lips.

For cheek application smile and place a small amount of the liquid on the apple of your cheeks then quickly and gently blend in an upwards motion, following your cheekbone. You can also apply to the lips with the small applicator brush to add a flush of colour that will last all day.

There is a slight scent to this product which I can't quite make out, but I don't find it offensive. The shade is a little more pink in tone than it looks in the bottle, but it definitely has that flushed glow.

Inspired by a Queen’s scepter, the distinct jewel-shaped bottle portrays sexy sophistication and lawless luxury. The bottle is enhanced with a rich gold crown cap showcasing a custom crest capturing Katy Perry’s playful essence – regal cats, a music clef, and a dagger.

Top Notes: Wild Berry, Dark Plum, Bergamot.

Middle Notes: Red Velvet Flower, Natural Jasmine Sambac, Rainbow Plumeria.

Base Notes: Cashmeran, Natural Patchouli Heart, Liquid Praline.

"When I was creating Killer Queen, I was really inspired by the idea of a strong, confident woman in power and that is exactly what I hoped to put into this fragrance, something that brings out the power inside of you"

Katy Perry

Ooh yeah I like this perfume. It's warm, strong, sensual and powerful all at the same time. It's a very empowering fragrance that I will enjoy wearing for sure so thank you Katy Perry. This definitely has Katy's stamp on it.

Monu Illuminating Primer SPF 15, £24.95 for 50ml

Formulated with light reflective and soft focus technology to brighten the complexion and add instant sheen and radiance. Used alone, gives skin a smooth flawless finish. Provides an excellent base for make-up. Paraben free formulation.

After cleansing and toning apply to the face and neck using gentle upward movements every morning.

This feels like a really silky cream on my hand that blends into the skin easily. It has a slight glow, but I am not sure how much if at all this will show through make-up. It has a very faint creamy scent.

Premae Multi-Vit Smoothie Serum, £22.50 for 50ml

This lightweight shine-control serum is silky yet mattifying. This blended formula offers a comforting barrier cream to soothe redness, and smooth the uneven texture, perfect for applying makeup on top.

Top Tip: Squirt 2 pumps onto the back of your hand, followed by your desired liquid foundation and mix together with a foundation brush to create a hypoallergenic, natural BB Cream!

I would say this feels like a cream with a slight gel consistency. It has the same lemongrass scent that I did not care for in the Premae Harmony Balm. I will however still try it out, especially as I am intrigued about how it claims to be able to turn foundations into BB Creams by mixing them together. On the information card it advises to apply this before moisturising, but the GlossyBox website says after moisturising so I guess it can be used as serum and/or as a make-up primer?

Eva Cosmetics Mystic Diamond Argan Oil, £22.70 for 100ml

Argan oil and diamond powder.

Benefits:

Gives sublime shine and volume, adds unique nutrition and prevents frizzy hair.

Pour a small amount into your hand, spread it evenly through wet hair, dry your hair and apply another small amount if it’s needed.

I am not sure if I am meant to pull to top off or pierce the lid on this product so if anyone knows help a girl out :)

In addition to the products there is the edition of the October GlossyBox magazine which I enjoyed on my lunch break the other day.

So far the stand out product for me has been the Katy Perry fragrance. I will be adding this to my Xmas list for sure.

June 2013 GlossyBox: Summer Looks

Helllllooooo and Happy Sunday. Are you having a relaxing one or out and about? I went out for a lovely meal and drinks last night. I started with spinach and feta filo pastry parcels followed by a posh spag bol, yum :)

Today I have my GlossyBox products to show you that came in my Summer Looks box this month. So here are the products ........

Top Left: Monu Professional Skincare Hydrating Moisturiser SPF 15, £29.95 for 50ml

  • prevent sun damage and premature ageing
  • blurs imperfections and corrects skin tone
  • paraben free formulation
After cleansing and toning apply to face and neck using gentle upward movements, either use as your moisturiser or apply over the top of your existing moisturiser. Can be applied throughout the day to maintain optimum protection.

This feels like a cold cream that is quite refreshing. It has a very soft scent which is pleasant.

Top Centre: Figs & Rouge Coco Rose Lip Balm, £4.95 for 12.5ml

Shimmering Blush Pink Tint for a touch of Glamour. Replenishing & Long Lasting with delicious moisture protection.

  • 100% Natural Ingredients
  • Petroleum Free
  • Paraben Free
  • Mineral Oil Free

This is a really pretty soft pink lip shade with silver glitter shimmers. I think this will be really nice for the spring/summer season. I don't usually like most rose scents, but because it is coco rose it's actually quite nice. I think this would be really great if used on the eyes too.

Top Right: MeMeMe Cosmetics Long Lasting Nail Gloss Wild (82), £5.00 for 12ml

Features maxi-brush technology to guarantee a seamless and professional one-stroke application and a glossy finish.

Apply over a base coat and finish with a high shine top coat.

I have added the website in the link above and although I can not find this actual shade on there I have seen this range sold in Superdrug if you want to look for it there. I think this colour is gorgeous. A lovely deep purple shade.

Bottom: Helen E Cosmetics Eye Pencil With Smudger Black, £8.00 for 1.2g

  • 15 luxurious colours to choose from
  • Long wearing and waterproof
  • Non-dragging formula with professional smudger
Use as a regular kohl liner or blend with the smudger.

This is actually a really nice looking deep black kohl liner that glides on smoothly when swatching. I am looking forward to trying this.

Organic Surge Colour Protect Conditioner For Colour-Treated Hair, £5.99 for 200ml

  • Natural and organic conditioner
  • Untouched by harsh chemicals
  • 100% silicone free detangling and conditioning
  • Lychee extract works to prolong colour radiance and improve manageability
  • Prevents colour fade, protects from heat styling and environmental damage
  • Intense natural moisturisers help revive, smooth and gloss the hair
  • Animal-friendly, suitable for vegetarians and vegans
Use after Colour Protect Shampoo. Massage Colour Protect Conditioner through the lengths of your hair then rinse well. Avoid contact with eyes.

This has a nice fruity scent to it.

I am really happy with this box. I feel like I will make good use of this one.

January 2013 GlossyBox: Hello 2013! Detox

Hey you Beautifully Addicted lovelies. I hope you are all well and somewhere warm while the snow is falling (if you are in the UK). My January GlossyBox arrived this week and so I thought I should let you in on my first impressions of the products. This box is designed to help you detox after all the recent festivities.

Left To Right:

Elemis Fresh Skin Skin Glow Facial Exfoliator, £12.00 for 100ml

With deep pore cleansing action your skin will appear brighter and more radiant and is left feeling soft and smooth. This product has been developed to accompany you from your teens to mid-twenties to help prevent premature ageing.

Massage into damp skin, paying particular attention to areas of congestion (nose, chin, forehead). Avoid the eye area. Suitable for use 1-2 weekly.

I use a facial exfoliator twice a week usually. I noticed this product first in the box as I love the colour of it. The cherry scent is very subtle. I am going to be 35 next week so the fact that I am out of the age range that this product is designed for makes me wonder why it was put in my box? I can't remember if my age is on my GlossyBox profile? I am still looking forward to trying this out though.

Jason Lips Bee Healthier, £1.99 for 4.6g

Organic Aloe Vera Gel helps heal, soothe and protect chapped lips while Shea Butter and Sweet Almond Oil moisturize. Leaves lips tingly and soft with peppermint Oil. The Jason brand means 'healer' in Greek.

Apply to lips to replenish moisture, reapply as needed.

OMG I love the smell of this as it's soooooooooooo peppermint. The twist up part of the tube is at the top which confused me at first. It feels smooth on my lips, but the surface is a little hard. I am hoping that once I have used it a few times it will soften more.

Duck Island Limited Body Lotion, 2 x 250ml for £24.95

Pelicans have lived on Duck Island since 1664 when King Charles II received a gift of pelicans from the Russian Ambassador; a tradition which still continues to this day. A rich and exotic, zesty combination of Mandarin & Bergamot to help both relax and stimulate the senses. Duck Island toiletries are also Paraben and Mineral Oil free.

Apply sparingly to skin shortly after a shower or bath. Massage into skin in a circular motion for maximum absorption and retention of this wonderful and zesty fragrance.

I like the way the product looks. The cream feels nice. The scent is zesty, but not at all overpowering.

Left To Right:

Monu Aromatic Mask, £24.95 for 100ml

On application this mask will help to renew and invigorate the skin. It contains Beeswax and Coconut oil to soften, nourish and hydrate the skin. This skin is left clear, boosted and radiant looking.

Use once or twice a week after cleansing and toning the skin. Apply to the face and neck with fingertips or a brush and leave on for 10-15 minutes. Remove with warm water using sponges or cotton wool. Tone and apply appropriate day cream.

This has a clay like appearance and the scent is relaxing yet uplifting. I am looking forward to trying out this warming facial mask.

Paul Mitchell Super Strong Daily Shampoo, £11.50 for 300ml

Paul Mitchell Super Strong Daily Shampoo is designed to help strengthen and repair hair that has been damaged by chemical, environmental or thermal abuse. The exclusive, powerful Super Strong Complex helps rebuild the hair’s internal structure leaving a natural feel and intensified shine. The unique Super Strong Complex contains Hydrolyzed Vegetable Proteins that penetrate the cortex and help to moisturize from within whilst helping to lubricate and reinforce the cuticle. Panthenol also helps provide long lasting moisturization, thicken the hair and provide shine.

Apply a small amount (about the size of a 10 pence piece) into your hands and rub together. Massage into the hair. Rinse thoroughly. Suitable for colour-treated hair.

Not much to say about this other than the scent is very subtle.

And last, but by no means least is this GlossyBox eye mask. I think it was such a cute idea to include this. I have only tried one eye mask before that was badly made because it dug into my eyes, but I will definitely give this a go.

So that's it my loves. Overall I think this is a really nice box and I like the detox idea behind it. I'm not fussed about hair products and would have preferred a different type of product to replace it though.

July 2012 GlossyBox

Hey loves. I have given the house a really good clean today which although was not fun in this hot weather I always feel better for doing it. I picked up My July GlossyBox from my Mum's. I thought I had changed the details on my GlossyBox account to my new address, but I will have to investigate. This month's box is festival inspired so let me show you the products.

Left To Right:

Bex London Londoner Urban Fragrance (W1X), £81.00 for 100ml EDT

This sophisticated neo-vintage fragrance is inspired by the opulence and high- octane atmosphere of London’s West-End.

Notes:

Top: Coriander, Bergamot, Mandarin, Neroli

Middle: Cardamon, Orris, Rose, Ylang, Tea, White Jasmine, Freesia, Violet, Lily of the Valley,

Bottom: Cypress, Cedar Wood, Precious Wood, Patchouli, Vanilla, Vetiver

The fragrance W1X is one of four from this range. I am not sure if this is £81.00 for all four fragrances or each? I would describe this scent as soft and feminine. It's okay, but not something I would buy for myself. With the London culture behind this product I expected something a bit more 'girl about town', but it does say that W1X is a feminine fragrance.

Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Moisture Mist, £9.25 for 250ml

Deeply hydrates thirsty hair and revives dry, tired skin. Ensures soft, healthy looking skin. Reactivates styling products in the hair. Perfect for touch ups.

Spray generously on hair and skin.

I am really coming close to finishing my face mist/toner so this will be nice to try. When I smell this spray bottle product it's very subtle and does seem quite refreshing.

Monu Eye Cool Gel, £16.95 for 15ml

A refreshing gel that instantly revives and tones tired eyes, reducing puffiness, fine lines and dark circles. Can be used under make-up.

Not tested on animals. Wheat-free and paraben-free.

Use morning and night after cleansing and toning. Gently pat a small amount around the eye area, avoiding the eye lids, until completely absorbed.

This feels very cooling. I like the idea that it's a gel formula. It appears to have very little if no scent.

Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics Lip Frosting in Irish Cream Pavlova, £10.00 for 15ml

A multifunctional cream gloss. Use on lips for a tint of colour, or on cheeks for a luminous glow. This is scented with homemade pavlova.

This is my first ever Jelly Pong Pong product and so far I like it. The scent is gorgeous. Very sweet and very noticeable. The product came out quite thick and gloopy and quite fast when I squeezed the tube. The gloss is very shiny and this colour is a very sweet pink candy shade. I think this will be great for lips and cheeks.

Centre:

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse, £17.50 for 50ml

Apply this dry oil to your face, body and hair all year round. Your face and body are left feeling soft and silky. Your hair is supple, soft and shines with health.

On the face:

- Spray Huile Prodigieuse in the palm of your hands and rub hands together to warm the product.

- Apply Huile Prodigieuse on the face with smoothing strokes from the centre to facial contours.

On the body:

- Spray Huile Prodigieuse on selected areas (décolleté, arms, stomach, thighs…).

- Massage Huile Prodigieuse area by area using circular movements.

On the hair:

- Spray Huile Prodigieuse directly on hair (at a distance of about 20 cm). Massage hair and scalp to help penetration.

- Wrap hair in a dry towel and leave on for 15 to 20 minutes for complete penetration of Huile Prodigieuse.

- Wash hair with your daily Shampoo.

I like the scent of this multi-tasking dry oil. It's quite warm yet subtle. I will mostly use this on face and body. Mine is not a spray bottle as it's a 10ml sample, but it's still nice to try a versatile product.

Bonus Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference Products:

Left:

Gentle Hydrating Cleanser, Optimizing Skin Serum & Gentle Hydrating Cream SPF15, From £32.00 for 50ml

Gentle Hydrating Cleanser:

Colloidal Oatmeal particles to gently exfoliate the skin and Oat Protein fine powder to soothe.

Optimizing Skin Serum:

Sodium Hyaluronate to lubricate and attract moisture to the skin; and Vitamin C Derivative which provides antioxidant protection and helps brighten the appearance of skin.

Gentle Hydrating Cream SPF15:

Advanced Moisture Complex including a combination of high performance moisturizers, humectants, film formers and water binding agents, such as Trehalose, Sodium Hyaluronate, Urea, Sodium PCA and Glycerin, provide long lasting moisturisation. Gentle Hydrating Night Cream: Shea Butter which is an effective emollient and moisturizer; and Lavender to calm and soothe skin while providing a relaxing scent.

Dry Skin needs gentle but effective hydration. The 4-step Regime: Cleanse, Tone, Treat, Moisturize will make a Visible Difference in your skin.

  • Cleanse with the Gentle Hydrating Cleanser massaging it onto wet face and rinsing well with warm water.

  • To tone sweep the Gentle Hydrating Toner over cleansed skin with cotton (not included with these samples)

  • Treat with the Optimizing Skin Serum by smoothing onto face and throat, before moisturizer, morning or night.

  • Moisturise with the Gentle Hydrating Cream SPF15 and the Gentle Hydrating Night Cream by smoothing onto cleansed face and throat, (Gentle Hydrating Night Cream not included with samples).

The only Elizabeth Arden skin care I have tried is the 8 hour cream and I didn't like it due to the smell and texture. I know it's really popular with a lot of you though.

I thought there was something else in the sachet on the right of the photo, but it's just information on these samples. I hope these are nice products to use and I will test them out. They are quite pricey, but I will see if they are worth it.

So my overall thoughts on this month's box are pretty good. I will use everything included. The moisture mist and eye gel seem very cooling and good for the skin. I love the shade of the lip frosting too.
