LIGHT IN THE BOX LONG LASTING EYE & LIP LINER PENCILS

Hi lovelies. I hope you have had a great week and are relaxing today while you enjoy reading my blog :)

Recently I came across the site LIGHTINTHEBOX.COM that seems to have everything you could possibly ever think of at amazing bargain prices.

SWATCHES AS ABOVE

These 12 liners can be used on eyes and lips according to the packaging. I enjoy playing around with make-up so I will have fun with these. There are some great highlight shades which will work really well to open up the eyes on the inner corners. This set is especially perfect for summer make-up. If you are not great at eye make-up, but fancy a change from black or brown liner, just add any shade and voila you are transformed!

Working out at less than 40p per liner these are ace. The packaging looks fab and is sturdy. The product inside each pencil is a little wobbly and I think may come out if turned upside down fully, but just be careful not to do that and they should work fine :)

Let me know what fabulous bargains you pick up on this brilliant website as I need to go shopping on it now :)

Love to you all

GLOSSYBOX FRESH START MUST-HAVES

Hi everyone I hope you are well. Today I want to share with you my first impressions of this month's 'Fresh Start Must-Haves GlossyBox'.

A long lasting soft, glide on eye pencil that does not snag on the skin. The shade clay suits all eye colours. Can be worn on the upper and lower lash lines and the waterline. Not tested on animals.

This pencil does feel smooth on my hand and the shade appears to be very wearable for all eye colours as it's a mid-toned brown. Not too warm or too cool. A nice alternative to black which can be quite harsh and close up the eyes. I am not sure how well this will work on the waterline for me as I have quite watery eyes and find this type of pencil doesn't usually apply well on my waterline.

A loose powder blush that applies with a soft, plush applicator puff. Comes in six shades.

This product is designed with the puff so that no powder sprinkles all over your handbag due to the puff applicator. The middle band of the pot however does twist off so I am not sure if that would be the case. It has a pop off lid so be sure to hold the band when removing it. The lid comes with a mirror which is cool. This shade Romantic is a dusky pink. Quite soft and English Rose. Great for paler girls, but can be built up for a slightly more intense blush. I am not a big fan so far of the applicator, but then I am not a big fan of loose powder or pigment products usually because they tend to spread everywhere so I can see why the puff is in place. However I find using a brush easier to get the right amount of product to sweep over the skin rather than dabbing a puff on a certain area.

An brightening oil-free lightweight, luminizing gel with pearlescent pigments to highlight the face for a radiant complexion. Dab onto cheekbones and brow bones. Cruelty free.

This is a gorgeously glowy product that will instantly give you healthy, dewy looking skin. This is another product that is not too cool or too warm and I think would work well with many skin tones. It blends into the skin beautifully. It's not ultra glittery like some highlighting products can be, but instead has micro particles that catch the light giving a 'lit from within, youthful effect'. I think this would look great on cheekbones for an awakened look as well as the cupids bow for plumped, fuller looking lips. I would also try it on my lids for an easy day or night look. It may even be nice to mix with foundations that you would like to make more dewy.

A soothing and re-hydrating skin re-balancing toner. Controls shine and softens dry areas.

I think some people don't see the point in using toners or just add them in to their skincare routine because they think they should. This is why I am especially intrigued to try this product to see if I think it makes a difference.

A sweet tasting balm that leaves lips nourished with a subtle sheen.

This does feel very nourishing with a silky balm feel. The scent is berry-tastic. I usually find lip balms to not work instantly or work for a while and once my lips get used to the product not work as well. I will keep using this and see how it goes.

I don't want to spoil a product in next month's box, but it is similar to one in this month's which disappoints me a little. I am not a fan of the spoiler card in each box as I like the fact that each month is a total surprise. It's party of the reason I signed up to GlossyBox.

Make-Up Eye Palette 2013 Favourites

Hi once again beauties. Today I am eager to share with you the 2nd part to my eye make-up 2013 favourites which are my most used eye palettes of the past year. I have been trying to make a real effort to use them more often as I sometimes find it easier to pick out my singular shades when I know the colours I want to use. This is because I have too many palettes (yes I said it) and sometimes I forget which shades are in them (shock horror)!

I have many more than these four from the Sleek MakeUP I-Divine collection, but I found that I used these four palettes the most from the Sleek MakeUp line last year. There is such a great array of soft, light and nude shades here as well as much deeper tones for smokey eye looks. I love the Sleek MakeUP I-Divine palettes so much because they have great pigmentation, well thought out palette colour combinations and are great quality at just £7.99 per palette. That's 12 shades for less than a pound per colour.

The Nude Collection Au Naturel palette (top left) I previously spoke about, including swatches and a brief description of each shade. I think this palette is great for those who prefer simple eye looks that can be smoked up when the mood strikes. A great everyday palette.

The Oh So Special palette (bottom right) I believed was limited edition at the time of my previous post, but it is still available to purchase now. This palette has some gorgeous pink and peach tones on the left with more smokey shades to its right.

The Bad Girl palette (top right) is definitely not for the faint hearted. When I pick up this palette I know I want dark, smokey impact eyes. It's a well named palette for you vixens out there.

The Limited Edition Paraguaya palette (bottom left) is no longer available on the Sleek MakeUP website, but you may be able to find it on Ebay or Amazon. This palette's collection of colours are real peach and rose tones. This is one of Sleek MakeUP's more lighter palettes with only one real dark shade. Applied carefully these shades can look amazing, but be careful if you do pick up this palette as some of these shades if applied to heavily, especially under the eyes can make you look a little hungover.

Each of these palettes has a mixture of matte and shimmer shades. They all have a really good sized mirror and very slimline packaging that stays shut when needed so great for carrying around if necessary. I just wish that there was some indication on the back of the shades included like colour swatches so that when I scramble through my make-up deciding what to use I can see the shade range at a glance.

Oh my god let me just say that if you want bold metallic eyes that are easy to apply then this is a duo not to miss. As you can see I have used the shade on the right more, but OMG once again they are both beautiful gleaming cream shades. I love to use my fingers to apply the right shade to my eyelids and then smoke them up on the outer corners. Instant look at me eyes with sexy smoulder. These do not crease on me either, even without a primer and last all day.

Now this palette was the first in the Urban Decay Naked line. There was so much hype around blogs at the time about it that you kind of felt like you must have it or you weren't part of the IT crowd. Maybe that sounds a bit OTT, but after oohing and ahhing over it for so long I took the plunge handed over my cash and here we are. I must say that I am so glad I did. These shadows are without doubt an investment. They are so smooth and creamy. I feel like I am treating myself still when I pull this out to decorate my eyes. Although this is a very neutral palette there are lots of glitter and shimmer shades in here and just two matte. I do think there are some great shades to just make your eyes pop using only one of the colours looking like you have made more effort than you actually have. Great for last minute invites! This came with the Urban Decay Primer Potion which was great, but I will still purchase my E.L.F. Eyelid Primer that works better and is a lot cheaper. I have the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils in Zero & Whiskey too that came with the palette. At the time I remember these palettes were selling out so fast that they had to bring out more, but with an eyeshadow brush instead of the pencils. My only negative towards this palette is the casing which is a velvet texture. Mine is very clean compared to what I have seen on a lot of blogs because I still keep it in the original plastic packaging otherwise make-up and dust would have covered it by now. I would therefore say it's not as travel friendly as the Urban Decay Naked 2 and Naked 3 palettes which have a tin design that should keep a lot more clean. There are 12 shades (including 7 best sellers) in this palette which works out to be just over £3.00 per shade. I really don't think that's bad for such a high quality product. I have been tempted by the Urban Decay Naked 2 & 3 palettes, but at the time I just couldn't justify spending the money on them. Obviously we have just had Xmas and I have 3 birthdays to pay for this month so I can't see me buying them any time soon.

So that's all for my most used eye palettes of 2013. Please let me know your favourites in the comments below along with any requests for make up looks from any of these palettes or swatches that are not linked in this post.

July 2013 Glamour Magazine

Hi Everyone. This is just a wee post to let you know that Glamour Magazine are giving away free Model Co Cosmetics products with the July 2013 issue which is out now. Here are the products which are on offer:

Fibre LashXTend Mascara, Link

Check out where I tried Model Co Fibre Lash Brush On False Lashes here

Shine Ultra Lip Gloss (shades of strip tease & berry pink), Link

Color Box Pencil Eyeliner, Link

The only eyeliner I could find on the website that looks the same as the previous magazine showing this offer is in the link above. I believe it is just that the pencil is now white as opposed to the black.

Lip Enhancer Illusion Lip Liner, Link

I received the Shine Ultra Lip Gloss in the shade Strip Tease. It's a very nude peach colour with a little silver shimmer. It does look very glossy and I think will work well over many lip colours. I have a subscription to Glamour Magazine so I did not choose this freebie. If I had picked one I probably would have gone for the Fibre LashXTend Mascara. I think the mirror on the lip gloss is cute though. The gloss has a doe foot applicator and smells a little sweet.

Have you or will you be picking up this issue of Glamour Magazine? Which of the Model Co Cosmetics freebies appeals to you the most and why? Let me know in the comments below.

June 2013 GlossyBox: Summer Looks

Helllllooooo and Happy Sunday. Are you having a relaxing one or out and about? I went out for a lovely meal and drinks last night. I started with spinach and feta filo pastry parcels followed by a posh spag bol, yum :)

Today I have my GlossyBox products to show you that came in my Summer Looks box this month. So here are the products ........

Top Left: Monu Professional Skincare Hydrating Moisturiser SPF 15, £29.95 for 50ml

  • prevent sun damage and premature ageing
  • blurs imperfections and corrects skin tone
  • paraben free formulation
After cleansing and toning apply to face and neck using gentle upward movements, either use as your moisturiser or apply over the top of your existing moisturiser. Can be applied throughout the day to maintain optimum protection.

This feels like a cold cream that is quite refreshing. It has a very soft scent which is pleasant.

Top Centre: Figs & Rouge Coco Rose Lip Balm, £4.95 for 12.5ml

Shimmering Blush Pink Tint for a touch of Glamour. Replenishing & Long Lasting with delicious moisture protection.

  • 100% Natural Ingredients
  • Petroleum Free
  • Paraben Free
  • Mineral Oil Free

This is a really pretty soft pink lip shade with silver glitter shimmers. I think this will be really nice for the spring/summer season. I don't usually like most rose scents, but because it is coco rose it's actually quite nice. I think this would be really great if used on the eyes too.

Top Right: MeMeMe Cosmetics Long Lasting Nail Gloss Wild (82), £5.00 for 12ml

Features maxi-brush technology to guarantee a seamless and professional one-stroke application and a glossy finish.

Apply over a base coat and finish with a high shine top coat.

I have added the website in the link above and although I can not find this actual shade on there I have seen this range sold in Superdrug if you want to look for it there. I think this colour is gorgeous. A lovely deep purple shade.

Bottom: Helen E Cosmetics Eye Pencil With Smudger Black, £8.00 for 1.2g

  • 15 luxurious colours to choose from
  • Long wearing and waterproof
  • Non-dragging formula with professional smudger
Use as a regular kohl liner or blend with the smudger.

This is actually a really nice looking deep black kohl liner that glides on smoothly when swatching. I am looking forward to trying this.

Organic Surge Colour Protect Conditioner For Colour-Treated Hair, £5.99 for 200ml

  • Natural and organic conditioner
  • Untouched by harsh chemicals
