GLOSSYBOX: NOV 14

Hi beauties and welcome back today for another beauty filled post. I received my Nov 14 GlossyBox a little while ago, but I am only just showing it to you now as I have been mental busy so apologies.

A retractable deeply pigmented, long lasting eye pencil. A creamy formula that is easy to blend for a smoky effect. Contains Vitamin E.

I like the pencil's packaging. It's cute with a pale pink hue much like the GlossyBox itself, but with a wild animal print. It is retractable and the formula feels creamy. It is black, but I would say more of a mid-toned black as I have seen darker black eye pencils. I think it would work well for a smokey effect arond the eyes though.

A 100% natural, sheer colour with a wax formula that glides on for a sweet and super shiny glassy finish.

The finish is very glossy on the lips and feels very nourishing. I have the pink shade wink which looks very natural. These are sheer lip glosses though so I wouldn't expect much colour pay off. Perhaps more so with the red/plum shades of pucker or smooch? The scent is a little too sickly sweet for me.

An oil free moisturising gel for deep hydration while minimising the appearance of fine lines. Can be worn for 5 mins as a masque and also kept in the fridge prior to application for a cooling sensation.

Sounds soothing so I am looking forward to trying this.

An invigorating, warming facial oil to balance oily skin, soften and decongest pores.

I am a little dissappointed that once again I have been given a product meant for oily skin when my GlossyBox profile clearly states I have dry skin. I will however try this product.

A luxurious hair oil to add shine and hydration to the hair. This lightweight formula leaves no oily residue.

Hopefully this will be a great hair treat!

So far I am not blown away by this GlossyBox, but these are only my first impressions.

Which products did you receive in your Nov 14 GlossyBox? Do you have any favourites? Let me know in the comments below.

Favourites: 2013 Lip Glosses & Lipsticks

Hi my lovelies. I hope you are all super fab today. You are closer to the weekend now so just keep going. For you I have a wee post on my favourite 2013 lip products. So without further ado these were my most used in 2013.

L-R: NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss Dolly Pink, Fearne Glossy Lips (shade unknown), NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss Perfect Red, NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss Nude Pink & NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss Beige.

As you can see I am a massive fan of the NYX Mega Shine Lip Glosses. I have swatches of these shades and many others in this post! I am not sure if all the NYX Mega Shine Lip Glosses smell the same, but these ones certainly smell like cherries which I really like. The colour you see in the tube is the colour you truly get with these. They feel really nice on the lips and have a cute bow on top of the black lids. NYX is a brand which I always think of as a favourite in general. I would totally recommend these to lip gloss lovers.

Dolly Pink is a very bold barbie pink.

Perfect Red is exactly that. Bold and sultry for va va voom lips.

Nude Pink is a milky cool toned peach.

Beige is not beige at all. Every time this product is mentioned on blogs and by YouTuber's the same thing is said. It's a very natural lip colour. A subtle rose pink.

The Fearne Cotton lip gloss came in a set which you may be able to find on Ebay or Amazon, but as it was a 2011 Xmas gift that may not be possible sorry. I hate showing products that you may not be able to get hold of, but it was a favourite last year. The shade is not named or numbered, but I described it as a pinky brown in this post where you can find all of my Fearne Cotton lip and nail product swatches.

Left: Natural Collection Moisture Shine Lipstick Apple Blossom

This is a very easy to wear pale peach nude. I think it would suit most complexions as it is so light. You can find swatches of my Natural Collection lipsticks here. These lipsticks are available at Boots. The site seems to be down at the moment so I can't tell you their price, but I think they are around £1.99.

Right: NYX Round Lipstick Fire

You can find a swatch of this shade and many others in this haul post. I picked up this lipstick at IMATS some time ago, but I have purchased many NYX products from cherryculture.com too. I would definitely say if the shipping works out to be worth it for you and you want to find lots of make-up brands at very affordable prices then you should check out this site. There are brands such as Jordana and Milani on their too which we don't really see in the UK. This NYX shade I described as a very punchy red. The NYX Round Lipsticks feel so buttery on the lips.

So these were my most worn lip products of 2013, but believe me I have used many different brands and shades throughout the year. I would also recommend checking out the MUA range at Superdrug for very affordable lipsticks at just £1.00 each. I for one want to check out their new matte lipstick line. Here is a link to some of their lipstick products.

What were your favourite lip products of 2013? Let me know with your reasons in the comments below.

Holly Sharpe Illustrations & Limited Collection For Marks & Spencer

Hey everyone and Happy Sunday. I hope you have had a great weekend so far. Apologies for not blogging this week until now, but it was my first week back at work after a long break, I had a couple of birthday celebrations to attend and we have been putting together some bedroom furniture at home which is still ongoing today.

For this post I want to talk about the fabulous designs of fashion illustrator Holly Sharpe and her Limited Collection which has now launched as of Jan 9th in Marks & Spencer stores as well as online for SS14.

Holly's illustrations I first noticed when perusing the Hey Sailor website.

This Exotic Girl A4 Print is the design that really caught my eye when I first saw her work.

Well now I am chuffed to see that this very design has been applied to Holly's Limited Collection with M&S.

There are lots of fabulous items including make-up, nail polish, an iPhone 5 case, a wash bag and an eau de toilette.

I have an iPhone 4 which makes me sad so no phone case for me :( I will however be popping into M&S very soon, especially as my birthday is this month. The Eau de Toilette I think will be my must have as the scent sounds scrumptious and I can then keep the beautifully designed bottle.

A lot of the shades in this collection appear to be taken from Holly's 'Exotic Girl' illustration which I think is such a great way of reminding us to be inspired and creative when applying our make-up and painting our nails.

I wish Holly the best of luck in her career and this M&S launch. I am sure it will be off the shelves in no time. Well done to M&S for choosing to work with such a talented artist.

Will you be picking up any items from this Holly Sharpe Limited Collection at M&S? With prices starting at £5 how can you resist? Let me know your favourites in the comments below.

Festive Treasures GlossyBox & NOTD

Hi there sweeties. Xmas is just over a week away and I still have so much to do, but one thing that always relieves any stress is the arrival of my GlossyBox :) This months box is a fab one so let me show you the products.

Loving the Xmas theme!

A natural mineral formula free from harsh chemicals and rich in jojoba oil. Non sticky, long lasting and tastes great. Cruelty free and BUAV approved. Suitable for vegetarians.

My thoughts:

This is obviously a very natural lip gloss. It doesn't feel sticky at all. It's texture feels quite creamy and nourishing actually. I am not sure how long it will last on the lips as I have only just applied it. I wouldn't say it tastes good or bad. I think this shade is so neutral that it will suit all skin tones and could be worn over any lipstick due to it's milky, nude glossy shade.

A cream gel formula that is fade and crease resistant. Long lasting vibrant and shimmery shades.

My thoughts:

I have always wanted to try one of these Maybelline Color Tattoos, but for some reason never actually picked one up. This shade looks fantastic and I can't wait to try it out. I think it will look superb when paired with the lip gloss above too. Now that this swatch has dried on my hand I have to say that this shadow is pretty resistant to budging. I had to really rub it with my finger to see the tiniest specs flake from it, but lets face it who is going to rub over their eyes so harshly. I will store this upside down to stop it drying out as quickly. A good tip for cream and gel eye formulas!

A 3 in 1 razor that lathers, moisturises and shaves. 100% natural aloe and enriched vitamin E to moisturise. The packaging is natural too. Pivoting head design to smooth around body contours. Indicator lets you know when to replace blades. Fragrance free.

Wet the conditioning solid to activate. Keep skin and razor wet as you shave and press gently.

My thoughts:

I find the thought of shaving without applying a gel or cream first a little weird, but I am happy to try this as it saves the need for another product.

One coat coverage with a satin smooth finish that dries quickly.

Apply a base coat, apply one or two coats of the Seche Nail Lacquer and a top coat.

My thoughts:

Here I have applied a base coat, two coats of the Seche Nail Lacquer, my E.L.F. nail polish in Twinkle and my nail drying spray. Here is a link to this Seche shade on the Seche website so that you can see the colour better. I applied this on Saturday and it lasted until Monday when I did 4 hours of housework. It probably would have lasted better with the Seche Dry Fast Top Coat, but cleaning the house always chips my nails no matter what I use.

This full size Eau de toilette comes in a heart shaped, black jewelled bottle.

The scent combines fruity honey and sweet top notes, the heart notes complement with Orchid, Jasmine and Peony and the base notes are deep with Amarylis and black incense.

My thoughts:

This is my first Lipsy fragrance. I do like the bottle design, but I do not have a bottle to show you so you will have to look in the link above. It looks so much like the design of the Diesel Loverdose Tattoo fragrance. I am not sure who brought theirs out first though. Although both fragrances contain jasmine the other ingredients seem to be different. I do like this scent. It's a little deeper than other Edt I have tried which I like as I prefer a stronger scent. I can smell the fruity honey, but it does have a sensual, deep base.

So far I have been very impressed by this box. For more information on GlossyBox UK check this link and for the US GlossyBox see this link.

Which products did you receive in your GlossyBox this month and are you happy with them? Let me know in the comments below.

Poundland Make-Up Haul

Hello you sweet peas. Happy Sunday and Happy Father's Day to Dad's out there. Sadly my Dad has passed so I can't spend today with him, but I hope you are having a wonderful day with your pops. I visited Poundland on Friday. One of my favourite shopping trips I have to say and here are the make-up beauties I picked up.

Chit Chat Foundation Oatmeal, 30ml for £1.00

I hope you can see here that it blends out nicely. This is a yellow toned foundation. I did see another shade that was pink toned from this range. I am not sure if they are the only two shades. There appears to be no scent with this. I was in desperate need of picking up a new foundation, but as I was short on time this seemed like a good option to try. This seems very lightweight as it is described.

Famous By Sue Moxley Lipgloss Edit, 6ml for £1.00

I could not find this on the website for a link sorry. This smells sweet like those twist up lipstick type of sweets you used to get. This is a beautiful iced baby pink lipgloss with I believe pink and lilac glitter reflects within the gloss.

Milani Glimmer Stripes All-Over Colour 05 Honey Glimmer, 12.8g for £1.00

These are the shades swatched as they are in the pan in the first photo. The two lightest shades don't show up too well when swatched.

I am not sure if you can see it well enough here, but this is a swatch of all the shades in the palette merged together. The effect is a very subtle, soft golden bronze shimmer. This palette is meant for the face, cheeks & eyes. I think this would also be beautiful on areas of the body such as the collar bone, arms and down the front of the legs to highlight a tan. This does not appear to be on the website either, but there were a few palette shades in this range.

What bargains have you found lately in Poundland or other pound shops? Let me know in the comments below.

July 2013 Glamour Magazine

Hi Everyone. This is just a wee post to let you know that Glamour Magazine are giving away free Model Co Cosmetics products with the July 2013 issue which is out now. Here are the products which are on offer:

Fibre LashXTend Mascara, Link

Check out where I tried Model Co Fibre Lash Brush On False Lashes here

Shine Ultra Lip Gloss (shades of strip tease & berry pink), Link

Color Box Pencil Eyeliner, Link

The only eyeliner I could find on the website that looks the same as the previous magazine showing this offer is in the link above. I believe it is just that the pencil is now white as opposed to the black.

Lip Enhancer Illusion Lip Liner, Link

I received the Shine Ultra Lip Gloss in the shade Strip Tease. It's a very nude peach colour with a little silver shimmer. It does look very glossy and I think will work well over many lip colours. I have a subscription to Glamour Magazine so I did not choose this freebie. If I had picked one I probably would have gone for the Fibre LashXTend Mascara. I think the mirror on the lip gloss is cute though. The gloss has a doe foot applicator and smells a little sweet.

Have you or will you be picking up this issue of Glamour Magazine? Which of the Model Co Cosmetics freebies appeals to you the most and why? Let me know in the comments below.

Udozi Review & Haul

Hey there cherubs. I hope you have been enjoying your weekend so far. I spent a lot of yesterday getting my house in order with my fella. We even had a move around of the bedroom and threw some stuff out. I do like a good change around as it makes things feel new. Tonight I am off out to dinner with some of my man's family so I am looking forward to that, but for now I want to share with you my review of Udozi so let me tell you more.

I was approached by Diffusion PR and asked if I would take a look at the Udozi mobile app and website. It is still in beta phase and Diffusion wanted to see if I liked how it worked and report back with any suggestions for changes while also noting the things I really liked.

Udozi is a platform and app to help you find items you are looking for.

Here is how the website looks. You can view it for yourself here.

Here is how the app will look on your phone. It's free as is the website to sign up.

Both the website and the app work in the same way. You simply search for the item you are looking for in the 'Help me find...' box, Choose in the 'Closest to...' box your current location or enter a street, town or postcode, then select in the 'By...' box driving or walking and search.

I searched for fancy dress and these are the first few items that popped up. You can search for anything at all. You get lots of information like how far away the items are, if they are in stock, price etc. You can reserve the item ready for picking up or add it to your watch list. The store details are all on there including address, directions, opening times and contact information. The style of the mobile app and website are pretty much identical and very simple to use.

To sign up Udozi will ask for your name, gender, email and a password of your choice. Here is a link for the mobile app.

On this page you can view the Udozi current stores, recommend a store to add or even add your own.

There are many stores in London which are already on board with Udozi which is why Diffusion PR thought it would be best that I tried the app in London. More and more retailers are coming on board though so this is a really useful app to have and why not give it a try as it's free. There are just under 1 million products on Udozi from 160 retailers at the moment and they will be launching more widely further into 2013.

So that's the information about how Udozi works, but how did I find it worked for me.......?

I met the lovely Chris from Diffusion PR at Covent Garden as they were gifting me £100 to purchase items through the app so that I could trial it out. We searched for fashion and beauty items and had a fun time browsing products walking from store to store. The app found items really quickly and made me want to hurry to the stores to see the products.

I ended up with some great products from The Garden Pharmacy and The Algerian Coffee Store. Two perfect places for me as I of course love beauty and when topped off with a coffee fix that's my perfect day.

I love the packaging and the shades of both of these. The Estee Lauder lipstick has a bit of a sweet lipstick scent whereas the Dior lipstick appears unscented.

The Dior Gloss has a brush on applicator. I have always wanted to try out a Mavala Nail Colour so I am excited to try out this gorgeous pearlescent shade.

I will be showing you a NOTD post soon with the Mavala Nail Colour.

Top: Chocca Mocca Drinking Chocolate 100% Real Belgian Dark Chocolate £2.95 for 150g

I could not find this one on the website for a link, sorry.

I think mine was £4.10 though so a little cheaper.

Bottom Right: Cafe Ole Italian Style Espresso Coffee Maker £9.50. Capacity for 3 cups 120ml

I could not find this on the website, sorry. I was told this would work perfectly in brewing my coffee. The staff were so great at helping me choose a coffee that suited my senses. I sniffed away at the coffee been jars that were filled with various aromas and the Formula Rosso blend struck me as one I would enjoy.

Top Left: 2 Meringue Type Sweets which were gifted to me free by the store

As well as being a coffee fan I do love chocolate so I had to get these yummy treats too :)

I honestly can not praise the staff in both The Garden Pharmacy and The Algerian Coffee Store enough. They were very helpful and informative. Shopping with Chris from Diffusion PR made the whole experience perfect. He really took the time to walk around with me . I felt very relaxed and smiled all the way home with my new treats :)

I think the search function on Udozi is very simple to use which is great. A cross box option to delete the whole word if you want to place a new search would be useful, but other than that I can not fault the app. Once more and more retailers come on board with Udozi finding products that you are searching for will be even easier. I have a feeling this is going to be a very popular shopping tool! It's a perfect app for those who need inspiration on where to look for products, especially when buying a gift.

I think it would be great if Udozi added store offers on their homepage in the style of perhaps a rolling widget so that you could also see where you can save money or purchase presents for occasions like Father's Day which is coming up.

You can find Udozi on many social media options here.

Many thanks to Chris, Diffusion PR and of course Udozi for allowing me to take part in this experience as well as the stores mentioned for helping me purchase some great finds.

Have you used the Udozi mobile app or website? If yes, how did it work for you? If no, will you be trying it out? Have you found any great purchases from The Garden Pharmacy or The Algerian Coffee Store? Let me know in the comments below.

E.L.F. 50% Off Haul

Hi my beautiful people. I am sitting here munching on some tasty strawberries and typing with one finger. Now that's dedicated blogging, ha ha ;) Recently I picked up some products in the E.L.F. 50% off sale so I thought why not show them to you with swatches included :)

Far Left: Mineral Face Cleanser, £6.00 for 50g

This water-activated, powder based cleanser works to clean and exfoliate the skin for a beautiful healthy glow.

Moisten hands and face with water. Pour a small amount into hands and rub together. Gently massage into face and neck and rinse off. Use morning and night or as desired.

I usually only exfoliate my face and neck twice a week with facial cleansers/scrubs, but I found I was able to use this type of product daily. I really enjoyed using the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant which I previously reviewed here. I thought this might be a cheaper alternative if it works just as well. The bottle has a flip top lid with three holes to shake the product out. The bottle is just over half full with product so it could be smaller.

2nd From Left: Studio Concealer Ivory, £3.75 for 3g

Conceal acne spots, discolouration, under-eye darkness or any other place desired with this twist up concealer. The creamy lightweight texture blends evenly for a natural full coverage that lasts.

Apply to areas that need additional coverage. Gently pat onto skin and blend with fingertips or a concealer brush.

This is a very peachy stick concealer that I purchased to use under the eyes, but I will see how it covers blemishes too. The stick is a little smaller than I thought it would be, but a good size to sweep easily under the eyes I think. I hope it will work well.

2nd From Right: Studio Translucent Matifying Powder, £3.75 for 3.8g

This translucent powder works on a wide variety of skin tones to help set your makeup in so it lasts longer.

Use the sponge to blend in the powder over the face, neck and decolletage as a setting powder. Reapply as needed throughout the day for a refreshed look.

(Sponge Applicator contains Latex)

I previously reviewed this product here.

Far Right: Studio Makeup Mist & Set, £3.75 for 60ml

Keep your makeup in place all day with a radiance boosting invisible hold.

After you have applied your makeup spray a light mist 12-16 inches from your face with eyes closed to set your makeup in place or use for a quick touch up throughout the day to refresh your makeup. Let it dry naturally or blot with a tissue to help speed dry.

Previously reviewed here.

Left: Studio Daily Brush Cleaner, £3.75 for 60ml

An anti-bacterial daily brush cleanser for quick cleaning in-between makeup applications. Disinfects brushes to provide a fresh and clean application every time.

After using your brush, spray several times over the brush bristles. Gently wipe the brush onto a clean cloth to remove makeup. Allow brush to fully air dry before next use.

Previously reviewed here.

Centre: Studio Mascara Primer, £3.75 for 2.5ml

An excellent conditioning base for mascara.

Apply the Mascara Primer like you would any mascara, but allow Primer to fully dry. Layer on your Mascara as usual, for an enhanced look. Remove with makeup remover.

I have used a mascara primer before from Jane Iredale which I found really made my mascara look more volumised and held a curve in my lashes better. I am hoping this will do the same.

Right: Glitter Eyeshadow Flirt, Currently £1.75, usually £2.50 for 4g

Achieve radiant shimmering colour with this luxe Glitter Eyeshadow.

Apply with fingertip for vibrant colour or with a brush for a subtle effect. For best results use with an Eyeshadow Primer. Apply wet for more intense looks.

This is looks lovely in the pan. A bold lilac shade with silver glitter particles. I think there will be fallout from this product, but perhaps it might not be too bad with an eye primer. I have had this swatch on my hand while blogging and the glitter particles have all fallen off. The colour seems to have faded also.

Left: Studio Glossy Gloss Ballet Slippers, £3.75 for 6.8g

High shine, pigmented Glossy Gloss delivers a beautiful sheen and a rich tint of colour to your pout.

This is a nude skin tone shade that is quite peachy. It's creamy and looks like it could be worn nicely alone or over lipstick.

Right: Studio Glitter Gloss Dazzling Diamond, £3.75 for 6.8g

Dazzle and shine with this intense, show-stopping glitter filled gloss. Infused with light-reflecting micropearls, this non-sticky gloss illuminates lips with sheer brilliance and lots of colour.

This is a clear gloss with gold and lilac glitter particles. It looks like it would be good over any lip shade if you like glittery lips.

Studio HD Blush in left to right Diva, Encore & Showstopper, £3.75 for 10ml each

Rich and creamy HD Blush naturally sculpts and highlights the cheekbones for a soft-focus effect that is great for everyday use.

Press down gently on the pump to release a very small amount of colour. Apply with finger or a stipple brush to the cheekbone in a tapping motion and blend in.

I find these very impressive and I would have bought all 5 shades, but the other 2 were sold out :( I actually got these mainly for the lips as I am hoping that they will be long lasting. A bit like an OCC Lip Tar. I am not sure how these will work on the cheeks as a little goes a very, very long way so they might be hard to blend in and control which will be frustrating if applied over face make-up.

Diva ~ A cool pink with a blue undertone

Encore ~ A deep rose pink

Showstopper ~ A deep plum

I am disappointed that it looks as though my bottle of Showstopper has already been used as there is product around the outside of the spout. Be careful when first opening these too as the first one I opened (Diva) spurted out some liquid.

All prices shown in this post are full prices, but as I had 50% off these 12 products only cost £25.95 which included delivery. I am one happy bunny other than the what looks to be used Showstopper.

E.L.F. products are available from eyeslipsface.co.uk and eyeslipsface.com

Did you take part in this E.L.F. sale? If yes, which products did you pick up? What are your favourite and not so favourite E.L.F. products and why? Let me know in the comments below.

Love to you all
