ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK MAKE-UP

Hi sweeties. In my last post I shared with you a wearable Halloween outfit for day or night. The make-up look from that post is inspired by Alex Vause from Orange Is The New Black so here it is.

NYX THE CARIBBEAN COLLECTION I DREAM OF ST. KITT PALETTE (THREE LIGHTEST SHADES)

99P STORE FATE LIPSTICK (FROM PACK OF THREE)

I realise that my lips are lighter than the Alex Vause picture, but I wanted a brighter look. To be honest the winged liner is more of what I wanted to bring out in this look.

Let me know what you think of this FOTD/FOTN look in the comments below and don't forget to check out my WEARABLE HALLOWEEN FASHION OUTFIT also.

SKINCARE & MAKE-UP : PORES, MOISTURISING & FOUNDATION

Hi sweeties. Happy Monday to you. It was my first day back at work today after last week off and it feels like I never left. Anyway on to more interesting things. I have 3 reviews for you today including skincare and make-up.

I have linked above to Fragrance Direct where they are currently selling these for £2.50. If you want to buy them in store you will probably be able to pick them up in Boots, Superdrug or supermarkets. There are 6 strips in each pack. I have had this pack for such a long time as I am really bad at remembering to use them. I used the last one the other day and it still worked really well so they don't dry up. These anti-bacterial strips are designed to remove blackheads and spot causing bacteria.

After washing your face pat dry. Then wet on and around the nose. Peel the strip off the plastic backing and apply the sticky side to your nose. The curve will be at the tip of your nose and the sides will wing out onto the inner part of your face slightly. Press and smooth onto skin to ensure contact. Allow 10 mins to pass. The strip will now feel stiff. Gently peel from each side pulling towards the centre and lift away from your nose.

The sensation is weird. It's kind of that pleasure pain thing like pulling off a plaster. It will feel uncomfortable because you are opening up the pores and pulling the dirt out. Plus it's stuck on so pulling it away is going to feel not quite right. Do not worry though as when you see the gross little bits of dirt and grime stuck to the strip that is no longer on your face you will be satisfied, but a little grossed out too. I use a wipe over my nose to remove any sticky residue afterwards and moisturise.

You can pick this up in Boots and most supermarkets I'm sure, but I have linked to Superdrug above as you can try the 50ml size for just £1.50 or buy 3 for £3.00 at the moment. The lid looks to be a screw top whereas mine is a flip lid. I would recommend this product for those wanting something without fussy ingredients. If your skin is sensitive or just needs a break from product overload then this simple product will be a good moisturiser to use on a daily basis.

Suitable for normal/combination skin offering a medium coverage.

I would say this gives a light/medium coverage as it's very buildable. I applied this with my fingers as I would a BB cream. It glides on easily, feeling smooth and almost moisturising. I have dry skin and it did not cause me any problems. My only reason for not wanting to repurchase this is that the shade porcelain is too dark for me and appears to be the lightest shade. The shade range is not very extensive with only 5 in it's collection. Online all shades look very similar apart from perhaps almond. If you can find a shade to suit you though I would recommend that you try these as they are very affordable. These are £1.99 and there is currently a 3 for £5.00 offer on selected Natural Collection cosmetics.

So what are your favourite blemish treatments, moisturisers and foundations at the moment? Let me know with reasons why in the comments below.

Make-Up Reviews: Natural Collection, 99p Store, MUA & E.L.F.

Hi there lovelies. I have 4 make-up reviews from different brands for you today.

Boots Natural Collection Liquid Eye Lines Black

I can't find this on the Boots website, but I think I paid around £2.00 for this 8ml product. The brush on this eyeliner is very thin and flexible. You can see a close up of the brush in this haul post, link! The line you get from this product is extremely thin and precise so would be great for those who just want to enhance and deepen their natural lash line than have an obvious eyeliner look. I however prefer a slightly thicker line which is the only reason I would not repurchase this product. The pigment is very black and stays on well, but my brush has started to splay out and go a little gloopy so I am throwing it away. I have had this product for almost 2 years though so it has lasted very well.

99p Store Passion Foundation

This foundation was very easy to use. I applied this with my fingers. It was very buildable and quite a good colour match for my skin, although there is no actual shade on the bottle. The formula is very light like a mousse cream. The scent smells a bit like a pretty older lady who takes care of herself. Quite floral. I would repurchase this product. I can not find it on the website I'm afraid.

I purchased this product at Superdrug linked above, but you can also order it at muastore.co.uk. I did pick this up for the occasional time I like to wear brown mascara as it's so cheap, but recently I have been using it on my brows. It's a perfect colour match that fills in my sparse areas while holding my brows in place. I would repurchase this for sure.

E.L.F. Studio Blush Mellow Mauve ~ £3.95 for 4.75g from eyeslipsface.co.uk

This was a very disappointing product from E.L.F. The colour when I first purchased it in this haul was very subtle and after only a couple of uses there was no colour pay off at all. It kind of got lost within my make-up for a while and I persevered trying to build it up excessively recently, but to no avail. This one is going in the bin which is a shame because I love so many of E.L.F.'s other products.

What have been your favourite make-up finds recently? Let me know with reasons why in the comments below.

Love to you all

Favourites: 2013 Lip Glosses & Lipsticks

Hi my lovelies. I hope you are all super fab today. You are closer to the weekend now so just keep going. For you I have a wee post on my favourite 2013 lip products. So without further ado these were my most used in 2013.

L-R: NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss Dolly Pink, Fearne Glossy Lips (shade unknown), NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss Perfect Red, NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss Nude Pink & NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss Beige.

As you can see I am a massive fan of the NYX Mega Shine Lip Glosses. I have swatches of these shades and many others in this post! I am not sure if all the NYX Mega Shine Lip Glosses smell the same, but these ones certainly smell like cherries which I really like. The colour you see in the tube is the colour you truly get with these. They feel really nice on the lips and have a cute bow on top of the black lids. NYX is a brand which I always think of as a favourite in general. I would totally recommend these to lip gloss lovers.

Dolly Pink is a very bold barbie pink.

Perfect Red is exactly that. Bold and sultry for va va voom lips.

Nude Pink is a milky cool toned peach.

Beige is not beige at all. Every time this product is mentioned on blogs and by YouTuber's the same thing is said. It's a very natural lip colour. A subtle rose pink.

The Fearne Cotton lip gloss came in a set which you may be able to find on Ebay or Amazon, but as it was a 2011 Xmas gift that may not be possible sorry. I hate showing products that you may not be able to get hold of, but it was a favourite last year. The shade is not named or numbered, but I described it as a pinky brown in this post where you can find all of my Fearne Cotton lip and nail product swatches.

Left: Natural Collection Moisture Shine Lipstick Apple Blossom

This is a very easy to wear pale peach nude. I think it would suit most complexions as it is so light. You can find swatches of my Natural Collection lipsticks here. These lipsticks are available at Boots. The site seems to be down at the moment so I can't tell you their price, but I think they are around £1.99.

Right: NYX Round Lipstick Fire

You can find a swatch of this shade and many others in this haul post. I picked up this lipstick at IMATS some time ago, but I have purchased many NYX products from cherryculture.com too. I would definitely say if the shipping works out to be worth it for you and you want to find lots of make-up brands at very affordable prices then you should check out this site. There are brands such as Jordana and Milani on their too which we don't really see in the UK. This NYX shade I described as a very punchy red. The NYX Round Lipsticks feel so buttery on the lips.

So these were my most worn lip products of 2013, but believe me I have used many different brands and shades throughout the year. I would also recommend checking out the MUA range at Superdrug for very affordable lipsticks at just £1.00 each. I for one want to check out their new matte lipstick line. Here is a link to some of their lipstick products.

What were your favourite lip products of 2013? Let me know with your reasons in the comments below.

Scrub, Conceal & Spray

Hello loves. Are you having a fine and dandy Wednesday? Today I have 3 product reviews for you so here I go :) .............

Left: Natural Collection Cover-up Cream (Fair), £1.99 for 8ml

To cover spots, blemishes and under eye shadows. Easily blendible.

I bought this concealer quite some time ago when I couldn't find my usual concealer the Collection 2000/Collection Lasting Perfection Ultimate 16 Hour Wear Concealer (Light 2) which has proven to be very popular and rightly so as it works very well. However after trying this Natural Collection concealer out I have to say that on me this works just as well as the Collection 2000/Collection concealer. This concealer comes in two shades of Fair and Medium and Fair is fine for my complexion. I do think it would be good if there were more shades, especially for darker skin tones as two is not very many and will not suit everyone. This has a creamy, but not slippery formula that is buildable and covers well, but does not cover my red veins so good. It has a simple twist up tube that unscrews and the wand has a doe foot applicator. The writing does wear off just like the Collection 2000/Collection concealer as you can see. I will repurchase this for sure.

Centre: St Ives Elements Olive Scrub, Currently £2.48 for 150ml at Superdrug

Gently exfoliates away dead, dull skin. Mild enough for frequent use, your skin is left re-energised, feeling moisturised and smooth with a healthy glow. Natural Ingredients of Olive oil which helps nourish, without greasiness and Olive oil leaf extract, a natural anti-oxidant.

Apply to damp skin in gentle circular movements, avoiding the eyes. Rinse off with water.

I was sent this ages ago with a magazine subscription. This has fine granules within the scrub that feel comfortable on the skin. The shade is a fab green that is different from most scrubs. I found the granules in this product good for both face and body so it saved me taking two products in the shower. I used this twice a week on both face and body and it worked well. I like the scent of this it's very natural.

Right: Primark Breath Spray Peppermint Coolness

Sugar Free. Spray as frequently as needed into mouth.

I purchased this product in November as part of this haul. It was about £1-£2. I love the bottle as it's leopard loving fun. This worked well and I would pick this up again.

So that's it for this review post. Have you discovered any cheap, but well worth the money concealers? What are your Natural Collection favourite products? Do you know of any face scrubs that also work well for the body? Do you know where to find cute breath sprays like this one or any other handy handbag products? Let me know in the comments below.

FOTN: New Year's Eve & StarGazer Lashes Review

Hi my special Beauty Addicts and Happy New Year's Eve! Today I wanted to show you a look I have created that could be worn on New Year's Eve or on any night out really. This look also includes a review of some false lashes that were sent to me for free. Here is the look I created :)

Now let me talk about these false lashes that were sent to me by the lovely Kat at Touch Media. These are the StarGazer Feathered Eye Lash 40. They are described as feathered I guess because they have longer lashes on the band with shorter ones in between. I love the little berries (or at least that's what I call them) that are edged along some of the tips. I applied these before doing any of my make-up because I am no pro at applying false lashes as you can probably tell. These were a little long in width for my eyes so I trimmed a couple of berries width from the inner part of each lash before application. These came with their own glue. It looks almost iridescent blue, but dries clear. It's kind of gooey. I used a cotton bud to apply it along the band and tweezers to place the lashes onto the eyes. These were very fiddly let me tell you, but I do like the overall effect. They are very, very long and touch my brow bone if I open my eyes wide. Because they remind me of berries I think they are perfect for the winter months. I wanted the lashes to be the main feature of this look so I kept the rest of the make-up fairly neutral with a toned down lip and a fairly light smokey eye. I think the headband worn hippy style adds to the New Years Eve feel as it adds that touch of glam with a natural wave to the hair. If I applied these again I would probably use some black liquid liner to cover the glue as it shows up a bit. You can buy these fun and flirty lashes for £4.00 here.

Other products used in this FOTN are:

H&M Shimmer Lipbalm (The Pink One)

FOTD: StarGazer Product Reviews

Hello my Beauty Addicts. It's Friday so let's all have a smile on our faces :) Last week I mentioned that I had been sent quite a few products from Touch Media PR to review so I thought that I would combine a lot of them in a FOTD post to see how they work. They are all from StarGazer.

Left To Right: Eye Dust (45), Liquid Eye Liner (Red), Mascara (Red), Semi Permanent Lip Liner Pen (03) & Gel Glitter (Glitter Red)

This Eye Dust is so pretty, but as with all pigments open and close this on top of a towel or a tissue as the pigment does tend to travel, especially if you are clumsy like me and always knocking things over. I was tempted to try this on my eyes, but I swatched it on my hand before using and realised that the glitter particles in it seemed to separate from the powder so I thought I would try it as a blush instead. I used only the tiniest amount from the lid of the product as this is so intense. It gave a china doll/doll effect to my cheeks. This is a great pigment for just £3.00, Link. I think the glitter particles may pick up better if used on the eye with and eye primer/base. I will have to try that out. This looks very red in the pot, but it showed up as a very hot pink on my cheeks.

Now on to the Liquid Eye Liner. Let me just say that this product is amazeballs. I love it so much. Without fail I can say here and now that I want this in every colour they do and I hope StarGazer bring out more. The formula of this product is like a gel. The brush itself is fairly thick, but I was able to still create a thin line that I thickened more on the wing when applying this look. I wanted this colour to really show up which is why I applied it against a white eye shadow. I did not apply this all the way into the inner part of my eyes. I started about two thirds in and winged it out at the ends. I think this is quite a vampy shade that would have been great at Halloween, but I would wear this at any time of year. I only applied this to the top lash line so that I did not look like that bad morning after a good night, ha ha ;) I think this is so easy to use. I would even recommend this product to someone who is not too familiar with liquid eye liner. Of course you need a fairly steady hand, but because of the gel-like formula it just seems to glide on easier than other liquid eye liners. It does not dry or crack or drag product back off the eye if you go over the same area. Well done StarGazer. This product is an amazing £3.00, Link

Right so let me talk about the Mascara. From my experience of using coloured mascaras they don't usually show up that well unless perhaps the sunlight catches them. I tend to use a black mascara under them first and go over the tips with the coloured one. In this FOTD I used the Red Mascara on it's own on my bottom lashes and the Red Mascara over the top of my black mascara on my top lashes to see the difference. I found that the mascara did actually show up pretty well without the black underneath. My top lashes look a bit clumpy as I tend to get liquid liner on my top lashes when I apply it which makes them go like this. I did try to get it off before applying my mascara. The Red Mascara was a bit gloopy, but it's not the worst mascara I have ever tried. I think it's a bit of fun and for a product that I won't use every day due to the shade I don't think it's bad for £3.00, Link. I would like to see if it would show up better on top of a white mascara, but I don't have one. Perhaps that is something that StarGazer could bring out in the range or make each mascara as a duo with a white mascara at one end and the colour at the other?

So now it's time to talk about the Semi Permanent Lip Liner Pen. This product has been used by Jessica Wright from TOWIE. You can use this product to line the lips or fill in the entire lip. I have had this on for a couple of hours now and had a a coffee. When I kiss my hand there is absolutely no transfer, but some of the product has worn away in the centre of my lips. I think this is a great date night shade, but you will need to reapply it after about two hours, especially when eating and drinking. I would still recommend it though and other shades this comes in look fab. On the StarGazer website shade 04 looks quite natural and nude so that would probably be a better shade to go for if you don't want the fading of product to be as obvious or to reapply as often. This did look a bit streaky when I applied it, but with a gloss this is not noticeable. The tip is sturdy, but not hard. I still like this product and will probably wear it to my Xmas night out with work colleagues tomorrow. I applied a lip balm before applying any of my make-up as I get dry lips. I thought this might be a very drying product, but it's fine on my lips so far. You can buy this for £4.00, Link

I wasn't quite sure where I was meant to use the Glitter Gel, but I thought it might look quite nice over the top of the Lip Liner to make the lips look more pouty. It can be used on the face and body according to the StarGazer website. It turned my lips into a more vibrant shade of red. I think this shade is great for lips at this time of year. I applied this to my hand and then used a lip brush for this as it is a squeezy tube product with a very small nozzle so it might not be so easy to use on the go. It did wake up my lips though giving them a little seasonal sparkle. This product is £3.00, Link.

So here are some FOTD photos without the Eye Dust on the cheeks or the Gel Glitter on the lips ....

Now with the Eye Dust as a blush and Gel Glitter on the lips ....

So that's all the products. I hope you enjoyed the reviews. All of the StarGazer products mentioned above were sent to me for free to review. The other products used in this FOTD are:

Max Factor Ageless Elixir 2 in 1 Foundation + Serum SPF 15 (Light Ivory 40)

Natural Collection CoverUp Cream (Light)

E.L.F. Studio High Definition Powder (Clear)

StarGazer Bronzer (Bronceador)*

17 Clear Definition Mascara

Blink + Go Long Lasting Black Mascara

*This product I was sent for free previously to review.

FOTN: Ardell Demi Wispies Review

Hi once again my cherubs. I hope you are having a fabulous Sunday. I was sent some Ardell Demi Wispies in Black for free to try out some time ago from Kilpatrick PR. I wanted to wait until I was going on a night out before using them as I am no expert at applying false lashes so if I actually got them to work I wanted to be able to show them off.

Photo taken after use. I apologise for this as in my excitement of trying them out I realised it would have probably been better for me to take the photo before use, whoops!

I am a bit of a nervous nelly when it comes to applying false lashes as I don't use them often enough too feel confident I suppose. The last time I tried was Xmas 2011 for a work do and lets just say it didn't go well. My eyes were streaming and they just wouldn't stick. It might have been the lash glue or the lashes I'm not sure, but I had to re-apply my whole make-up without lashes in 10 mins.

So now onto the review. I removed the lashes from the pack and placed them along my lash line to see if they were the correct width for my eye. They were fine, but had they been too wide I would have snipped them a bit from the inner corners to make them the correct size while keeping the sexy feline flick at the outer corners.

I then bent the ends inwards towards each other to help the band curve into more of an eye shape. This set came with lash adhesive so I squeezed some onto the cardboard packaging and used a cotton bud to apply it in a thin layer along the false lash line.

I waited for about 30 seconds and with my tweezers I maouvered them onto my natural lash line and pressed them against it with my tweezers gently to help them stick. I did get some glue on one of my eyelids, but this was easily removed by just peeling it off.

I applied my Ardell lashes before applying any other make-up so that if it was a disaster the rest of my make-up wouldn't be ruined. This was the best tip the lovely Celebrity Make-Up Artist Louise Page gave to me at the Speed Beauty Event. I think this took the panic out of applying them and so they were a success, thanks Louise :) I also went for a green smokey eye rather than black/grey to make the lashes stand out. Louise gave me the advice of not using too dark a colour so that the lashes would be emphasised rather than disguised. I went through the false and my natural lashes with mascara after applying the rest of my make-up to help them intertwine and look a bit more together.

I removed the lashes with a bit of moisturiser at the end of the night and peeled off the glue so that I can hopefully re-use them. I gave them a gentle wipe over with a face wipe also to get some of the mascara off.

I love the flick at the outer edge

They did seem to sit slightly lower on one eye than the other, but I think that may be just down to my eye shapes.

I look like I have just seen a ghost, ha ha

Here is a link to the Black Demi Wispies on the Ardell website, Link. My box says Natural Style, but most of the styles I found on boots.com, superdrug.com and onestopbeauty.co.uk say Fashion Lashes. I had a fabulous night out with my friend. We had dinner and drinks, but it all went too quickly. We will just have to do it again soon I guess so that I can have another go applying some more falsies ;) I got complimented on my eyes when I was out too. We were in a pub and the person was drunk, but it still counts right, ha ha.

Many thanks to Kilpatrick PR for sending these to me to try out.

What are your favourite falsies? Any more tips for a newbie :)

NOTD: Cold As Ice

Hello you Beauts. I hope you have had a great weekend. I am writing this post pretty late as time is just flying by due to sorting out all the things in the house. It's never ending I swear. Do not go food shopping on the weekend as well it's a nightmare. Tonight I have a NOTD post for you showing off a very cool nail shade.

Firstly I applied one coat of my usual Rimmel base coat followed by two coats of this Natural Collection Nail Colour in the shade Topaz. I bought this shade a while ago in a haul. Selected Natural Collection Cosmetics are currently 3 for £5.00 at Boots. The usual price of the nail colours is £1.89. The Topaz shade on their website looks completely different though? I sealed the look with one coat of my Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat. This nail colour is a really icy blue silver shade.

Are you a fan of icy nail shades? What are your favourite nail colours from Natural Collection?

Love to you all
