MASCARA DUO FOR TOP & BOTTOM LASHES

Hello sweeties. There are two great mascaras I have really enjoyed using lately as they work so well together.

This mascara was sent to me by a pr as a gift. This is a high impact mascara. By that I mean it is an intensely pigmented black (although it does also come in black/brown). My lashes look thicker and longer with this product. It gives my eyes a flirty, wide awake appearance. I find it to be very buildable without clumping. I have added many layers for more drama at times and it works fantastic for that.

So that's the good stuff. I find that pretty much any mascara I use smudges under my eyes including this one. Also you have to be quite careful when you apply this mascara to your top lashes especially if they are long because it's easy to get this on your lids. So annoying if you spend ages applying eye make-up. If you are careful then it shouldn't be an issue.

MODEL CO FIBRE LASHXTEND MASCARA

This mascara has added fibres to give length to the lashes. A product designed for clump-free, smudge and tear proof lashes.

For my top lashes this product didn't do much at all. My lashes were nicely separated, but I didn't find it very lengthening. I prefer more volume, but I can't fault this mascara for that is that is not it's purpose.

I do however find this product to work fantastically on my bottom lashes. It separates them and gives a nice length without any smudging at all.

So I hope I have helped you to find at least one mascara here that appeals to you.

Let me know your favourite volumising and bottom lash mascaras in the comments below.

GLOSSYBOX: STEP INTO SPRING

Hiya beauties. I have another post for you sharing my first impressions of the 'Step Into Spring' GlossyBox.

This is an organic peeling milk from Spanish eco-brand Naobay that removes dead skin cells and brightens the complexion.

Massage gently with only a little pressure over damp skin.

When I first heard the word peeling I thought this seemed a little scary, but by the sounds of it it's like an exfoliating moisturiser hybrid. I love the earthy packaging.

With a cobra head-shaped wand to create length and dramatic volume for inky black eyes.

Zig zag the mascara from base to tip when applying.

I do love a mascara that can tick all the boxes. I love length, curl, volume and a jet black pigment. The packaging is adorable. This is my first Essence product so I am excited to try it out.

This hydrating duo repairs brittle tresses while replenishing lost nutrients. Hair is left stronger, sleeker and looking twice as thick.

Massage the shampoo into wet hair and rinse. Squeeze out excess water and apply the conditioner. Leave on for 2-3 mins before rinsing.

I have previously used other Dove haircare products and loved them so I am sure these will be a treat.

Free of toxins is this quick drying neon pastel nail lacquer in a light mint cream shade.

After applying a base coat apply two coats of this nail lacquer. Run hands under cold water to dry your manicure.

This is an okay shade, but it doesn't excite me too much. I like the packaging, but the sticker on the bottom has been placed on a bit haphazardly. I do like that it's cruelty free, but I can see more exciting nail lacquers in their range.

A moisturising sheer tint lip balm with superfood ingredients for a lip enhancing effect.

I am still unsure if I like the scent/taste as it has the classic Carmex scent with added sweetness. The product does feel very moisturising on the lips from trying it out today and the colour is actually a really nice glossy berry shade that is somewhere between a tint and a lipstick in pigmentation. It really is lip enhancing making your pout look plumped and kissable.

I am really pleased with this GlossyBox. My only negative is the chosen nail shade.

LOVE EDITION GLOSSYBOX

Hi there beauty lovers. Last night I picked up my Love Edition GlossyBox from the post office which includes a 'Fifty Shades' mineral eyeshadow and a few other make-up treats. Here are my first impressions :)

Designed with 5 blades and a water-activated moisturising serum bar to keep skin hydrated for up to 2 hours after shaving.

Razors are something that I don't usually spend too much money on, but I am going to test this out tonight to see how good it is at giving me a close shave that is hopefully smooth on the skin. I always moisturise after shaving so I see the moisture bar as part of the shaving process only.

A 100% natural highly pigmented mineral loose powder eyeshadow with a creamy texture.

Inspired by the film 'Fifty Shades Of Grey' which I am sure you are all fully aware of this Valentine's weekend Marsk have created this beautiful grey mineral pigment that looks to be very wearable.

I think it's great for day or night as applied with one layer it gives light smoke of grey with pretty light reflects. For more intensity, especially at night time I think it would look stunning applied with a wet brush.

I hardly ever use eye pigments simply because things can get messy very quickly and I am very clumsy. Not a good combo. This is why I wish brands would create more pigments that come in a tube with a sponge applicator or in a pressed pigment form for ease of use.

A nourishing, moisturising lip tint that Victoria Beckham is rumoured to be a fan of. Tinties come in 4 other shades including berry, kissed, nude and pink.

The scent of this lip tint is very sweet I think due to the trio of oils (argan, grape seed and almond). If you don't like the taste of almonds you won't like this. It's a bit like marzipan.

It does feel nourishing on the lips and you can tell it's oil based, but it doesn't feel greasy. The pigment is not as high as I had hoped, but it is just a tint so I would use this as a lip butter only not as a lip shade. I have never been a fan of dipping my fingers into pots, but it is a cute design.

A richly pigmented, hydrating lip & cheek pomade that delivers 12 hours of wear without dryness, creasing or smudging. 100% cruelty free. Fragrance free.

The size of this palette for travel is great because it is so compact however the casing does not click shut so it would have to be kept in the box. I wish that a mirror had been included in the top of the lid too.

The two berry shades on the left are quite pigmented and good for noticeable, but not too bold lips. The shades on the right are much more subtle and I would perhaps reserve for the cheeks.

Because of the packaging not being great quality and the fact that the product actually sits in the palette a bit uneven this makes it look a bit cheap.

A conditioning waterproof, smudge proof and tear proof mascara that lengthens, defines and volumises. Push lashes upwards waiting for the mascara to dry to set into shape. Suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

I love trying out new mascaras and although I usually get smudging under my eyes from applying mascara to my lower lashes I never think to pick up a waterproof one.

A mini pack of love hearts sweets were also included in this Love Edition GlossyBox.

I love the actual design of this month's GlossyBox, but I am not as excited as I first was when I opened it as I wanted the make-up pigments to be more bold. I may not use the make-up much if at all apart from the mascara due to how they need to be applied.

CARMEX LIP BALM & SMOOCH BLACK LASH MASCARA

Hey lovelies. I am back once again today with two more quick-fire product reviews for lips and lashes.

I received this product in my STARS & STRIPES GLOSSYBOX where you can see product info and my first impressions. This product is very popular among the beauty community as well as a couple of my friends. I am sure that I tried the squeezy tube version of this years ago and it did nothing for me. I am not a lover of the beeswax scent and prefer a stick packaging as it's less messy. I did however give this another try, but I just can't love it like others do.

I was going through a phase of very dry and sore lips where I was desperate to find a solution. I reached for this product and sadly it did nothing for my lips or the dry, cracked sores around my mouth. The balm itself is very soft and the menthol scent made me think in my mind that this would be like some sort of medicinal treat for my mouth so that I could talk and eat without feeling soreness. It did not however live up to my expectations. It just doesn't work for me, but as I know others that love it don't take my word for it and perhaps try it for yourself.

This was gifted to me at an event. I have never tried any products from Smooch before so I was excited to try this mascara. The rubber texture of this tube stays really clean and makes it easy to hold. The lace detail is pretty too. The brush is a standard bristle style which tapers at the end. There is no funky, innovative design to show you. The formula appears to be a creamy silicon texture and the colour is very black. It's also very buildable giving great fluttery, lengthened lashes. I always wear mascara on my bottom lashes and that is only where I see this product to fail for me. It smudges loads under the eyes, but if you only apply it to the top lash line it's fantastic. I have added a link to Amazon as the Smooch website is down so I am not sure if it is discontinued.

Let me know your favourite lip balms and mascaras (for use on bottom lashes too) in the comments below.

POP ART GLOSSYBOX

Hi everyone. I received my Pop Art GlossyBox the other day and have not yet properly checked out the products so here are my first impressions :)

To start with I have to talk about the box itself. I love the bold pop art design. It will make a fab storage piece in my make-up collection. So now for the products:

There are 88 paint pots within the Ciate collection. It is recommended to apply two coats of this product. I love the long handle and pretty bow design of these bottles. This is a gorgeous purple shade that I am sure I will enjoy.

A 24hr moisturising mask to hydrate and soothe the skin. Instantly the product works to reduce discomfort or redness. Skin is left with a radiant and relaxed appearance. Suitable for all skin types.
Apply once or twice a week to the face and eye area for 10 mins. Massage the excess into the skin thereafter. Can be kept in the fridge for a refreshing effect.
Let's hope that this is as moisturising as it promises. With winter coming it could possibly be a saviour for parched skin like mine.
A 9-in-1 skin perfecting make-up product with a natural formula for a flawless matte look.
Apply in circular motions with fingers or a foundation brush.
I am sure I have tried a sample of this from a magazine, but I can't remember which shade. I know I didn't dislike the product, but I can't remember exact details so I will try out this mini shade and let you know my thoughts.
Encapsulating the feeling of falling in love.
Apply to the wrists and neck.
I like the simplistic bottle design. It's not too overdone and more of a classic. The scent is a little old school for me. It has rose which I am not a massive fan of. It just makes me feel older than I am.
A carbon-black mascara with hyaluronic spheres to achieve the darkest, curviest lashes possible.
Apply two coats sweeping upwards.
My mascara did have a seal, but there were a few black marks on it as well as a small chip. I am not sure if the black marks were from the print on the tube or another mascara? I do like the gold packaging and the cute bird design. A key point on a flutter mascara, although I think more of butterflies fluttering by. When I try this out I will review it for you.
A moisturising exfoliator to replenish and define the lips. Removing dead skin cells for perfectly soft lips.
Massage in circular motions for 1 minute. Remove with a damp cotton pad.
Only recently have I noticed a big change in the condition of my lips as they are extra dry and peeling. This has come at the right time so fingers crossed this works.
I think this month it's a good box. I am not a fan of the perfume as already stated and I do own similar nail shades to this one, but I can't fault GlossyBox for that.
As a side note I do miss the information card in the box. For product information you are now asked to view the GlossyBox website. A card for a sneak peek into next month's box and a competition has been included instead. Perhaps product information could be printed on the inside of the box?

ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK MAKE-UP

Hi sweeties. In my last post I shared with you a wearable Halloween outfit for day or night. The make-up look from that post is inspired by Alex Vause from Orange Is The New Black so here it is.

Products Used:

NYX THE CARIBBEAN COLLECTION I DREAM OF ST. KITT PALETTE (THREE LIGHTEST SHADES)

99P STORE FATE LIPSTICK (FROM PACK OF THREE)

I realise that my lips are lighter than the Alex Vause picture, but I wanted a brighter look. To be honest the winged liner is more of what I wanted to bring out in this look.

Let me know what you think of this FOTD/FOTN look in the comments below and don't forget to check out my WEARABLE HALLOWEEN FASHION OUTFIT also.

ORIFLAME BEAUTY WONDER LASH MASCARA

Hi once again today my loves. I have another review for you, but this time of a make-up product from a brand that I met at the BLOGGERS LOVE #LFW PARTY IN FEBRUARY 2014.

As you can hopefully see in the photo the brush tip on this wand is flat on one side and curved on the other. The end is very flexible which I did not find to be a pro or a con in application. The product tube is a deep purple, but the mascara I have here is black. I do believe it also comes in the shade prune. I really like using mascara wands with plastic bristles as I think they usually give a much more defined, fanned out effect. This mascara did exactly that, separating each and every lash which would instantly give a very natural look. I however prefer a more voluminous eye look so I did apply many, many layers. It did not clump the lashes together and instead gave a full and defined beautiful lash effect. The only bad thing I can possibly say about this product is that because I prefer volume and separation it took more time to apply than perhaps other mascaras I have tried.

This particular mascara I have seen on Ebay, but the newly revamped and improved version that is part of The ONE range you can now find here.

Oriflame is definitely a brand I will keep my eye on as they had other gorgeous products at the event mentioned above.

Let me know your favourite mascaras with reasons why in the comments below.

GLOSSYBOX: SUMMER BEAUTY EDIT WITH SUPERDRUG

Hi lovelies and happy summery Sunday. It's just so beautiful outside that it's almost tempting not to blog, but have no fear I promise I will. Today I have my May GlossyBox first impressions to share with you. This box is the 'Summer Beauty Edit' in collaboration with Superdrug to celebrate their 50th birthday! Superdrug is one of my go to beauty essentials stores so I knew this would be an exciting box.

SOLAIT ILLUMINATING FACIAL BRONZING CREAM ~ £2.99 FOR 100ML

With light reflecting particles to give a healthy, luminous glow as well as ingredients to hydrate and soften the skin.

Exfoliate before use. Apply to a clean, dry face with a tanning mitt or your hands. Blend at the hairline and eyebrows. Wash hands immediately after use.

This product is meant to develop within 2-4 hours. The scent in the tub is very much defined by the sweet almond oil. It looks like a medium thickness cream.

For maxed-up lashes this wand has a multitude of bristles to separate and give a fanned out lash effect. This mascara has a built in wiper system taking off excess product when you pull the wand from the tube. There will be a pop sound to ensure it's working.

Coat evenly root to tip, turning as you reach the end to accentuate the curve and prevent clumping.

I have never tried this mascara so I will see just how volumised it can make my lashes.

This foot mask will hydrate for up to 24 hours working while you sleep to give you beautifully soft feet when you wake.

Massage onto clean, dry feet before bed. No rinsing required.

I tried a tiny bit on my hand and it absorbs into the skin instantly which is great as I hate having sticky cream on me when getting dressed let alone going to bed. I would like to soften my heels for summertime so this will definitely be given a go.

A non-sticky or greasy body moisturiser.

Spray evenly over the desired area for long lasting, locked in moisture.

I am a really big fan of spray body moisturisers. It saves scraping or squeezing the product out and makes application a much quicker and easier process. This cocoa butter scent is gorgeous too. I really like the twist lid that clicks into place. No lost lids. I sprayed some on my legs and it has absorbed unbelievably quickly meaning getting dress straight after application is not a problem.

A full coverage lipstick that leaves a soft sheen on the lips.

Sweep on as required.

This is a very pretty lipstick that is very natural and I think would suit all skin tones. It has a lovely sheen which reflects beautifully in the sunlight. A great everyday shade for summer. I do have one negative though and that is the packaging. The lid is very secure and clicks shut, but the lipstick tube feels quite un-sturdy.

Now following on from all of those full size products are the bonus items.

Enhanced with 4 oils for softer, smoother, silkier skin. Non-greasy and non-sticky. For dry skin.

Apply to clean, dry skin. Not for the face.

This sample of body moisturiser is a new product for me to try and will hopefully do the job.

An intoxicating and addictive fruity-floral fragrance.

The fruity top notes are the first thing I notice about this scent. It quickly settles though into it's floral woody base. This musky scent is very sensual. Perfect for summer days and nights.

Well what can I say. I am very impressed by this box indeed. I think this was a great collaboration and I wish Superdrug a very Happy Birthday!!

MASCARA REVIEWS: A.K.A COSMETICS & GIVENCHY

Hi there cherubs. I am back with another post today including a couple of mascara reviews.

I was first introduced to the A.K.A Cosmetics brand at their launch back in May 2012, Link! They have lots of gorgeous products which make-up lovers should check out for sure. This brown mascara was gifted to me at the event. I don't wear brown mascara too often, but you can see how it looks on in this FOTD post. On the lashes it is very natural in appearance and separates well. The bristle brush head is the usual mascara shape that tapers towards the tip. I forgot that I had this until recently. I have been using a brown mascara for my eyebrows which had just ran out so I thought that I would give this a go. It worked perfectly and the fact that it had dried out a little meant that it worked even better holding my brows in place. The writing on the packaging has worn off quite a bit though.

I received this mascara in my May 2013 GLOSSYBOX. This mascara made promises of curl, length, volume and care. It actually gave a nicely shaped curve and volume to the lashes with added length. I wouldn't say that there was any change to the condition of my lashes, but they are in a healthy condition anyway. This mascara had a deep black pigment and was very buildable to give a fuller effect. It did smudge under my eyes on the lower lashes, but I think that most mascaras do that I have been trying lately. I didn't really get much clumping with this mascara until it started drying out towards the end of use. The three bobble head bristle brush design is quite unusual and I wonder if this had something to do with the mascara not clumping together.

I am trying out another mascara at the moment and so I will update you of my thoughts on that soon.

What are your favourite mascaras and why? Let me know in the comments below.

Make-Up Reviews: Natural Collection, 99p Store, MUA & E.L.F.

Hi there lovelies. I have 4 make-up reviews from different brands for you today.

Boots Natural Collection Liquid Eye Lines Black

I can't find this on the Boots website, but I think I paid around £2.00 for this 8ml product. The brush on this eyeliner is very thin and flexible. You can see a close up of the brush in this haul post, link! The line you get from this product is extremely thin and precise so would be great for those who just want to enhance and deepen their natural lash line than have an obvious eyeliner look. I however prefer a slightly thicker line which is the only reason I would not repurchase this product. The pigment is very black and stays on well, but my brush has started to splay out and go a little gloopy so I am throwing it away. I have had this product for almost 2 years though so it has lasted very well.

99p Store Passion Foundation

This foundation was very easy to use. I applied this with my fingers. It was very buildable and quite a good colour match for my skin, although there is no actual shade on the bottle. The formula is very light like a mousse cream. The scent smells a bit like a pretty older lady who takes care of herself. Quite floral. I would repurchase this product. I can not find it on the website I'm afraid.

I purchased this product at Superdrug linked above, but you can also order it at muastore.co.uk. I did pick this up for the occasional time I like to wear brown mascara as it's so cheap, but recently I have been using it on my brows. It's a perfect colour match that fills in my sparse areas while holding my brows in place. I would repurchase this for sure.

E.L.F. Studio Blush Mellow Mauve ~ £3.95 for 4.75g from eyeslipsface.co.uk

This was a very disappointing product from E.L.F. The colour when I first purchased it in this haul was very subtle and after only a couple of uses there was no colour pay off at all. It kind of got lost within my make-up for a while and I persevered trying to build it up excessively recently, but to no avail. This one is going in the bin which is a shame because I love so many of E.L.F.'s other products.

What have been your favourite make-up finds recently? Let me know with reasons why in the comments below.

Love to you all
