November 2012 GlossyBox: Stocking Fillers

Hello my little Beauty Addicts. Today I have my November GlossyBox to show you. This month it's all about gift ideas for Xmas. I'm starting to worry a bit now as the only pressies I have bought have been for my Secret Santa at work. Everyone else seems to be so much more prepared than me for Xmas, eek!

Anyway here are the products ....

Left: Dr. Jart+ Water Fuse Beauty Balm, £18.00 for 50ml

Flawless skin instantly with all-in-one multifunctional Water Fuse Beauty Balm. SPF 25. A cult product in Korea.

Apply evenly to cleansed and toned face. Add a second layer to increase coverage. Avoid contact with eyes. If product gets into eyes rinse well with water. Avoid contact with fabrics.

I have only tried one BB Cream so far which I fell in love with. That was the Ginvera Green Tea Nude Cover BB Cream. You can find my full review on that product here. This product claims to give a bright and glossy complexion. Bright I like the idea of, but glossy I'm not sure on. This is an oil-free hydrating moisturiser that holds water. It also has aloe. It sounds thirst quenching which should hopefully be great for my dry skin. I will definitely try this out and let you know how I get on.

Right: Burberry Body Eau De Parfum, £75.00 for 85ml

An effortlessly sensual fragrance. Top notes of fresh green absinthe, illuminating peach and delicate freesia; at its heart are floral notes of natural rose absolute and iris, gently blended with warm sandalwood. Its base is made up of woody cashmeran, creamy vanilla, amber and musk notes.

I have already tried this product when I received it in my October 2011 Feelunique Beauty Box. You can see my thoughts in that post. This sample bottle is more attractive though.

Left: Alison Claire Natural Beauty Mango Body Butter, £15.00 for 200ml

Made with organic mango and cocoa butters; this contains the anti-aging influence of retinol, antioxidant action from green tea, mango and vitamin E, and anti-microbial protection. This is a new brand. This product was not tested on animals and is suitable for sensitive skin.

OMG this stuff smells amazing like refreshing fruity sweets and sinks into the skin straight away. I love the pump design as not too much product comes out. I will be using this for sure.

Centre: Nails Inc Kensington Caviar Topcoat, £11.00 for 4g

A must have product. This top coat will give your nails wet look shine whilst nourishing the nails with added caviar extract. As if that wasn’t enough, this incredible top coat is touch dry in just 45 seconds. Sunday Times Style Beauty Award Winner.

I am on the lookout for a new top coat so maybe this could be the answer? Watch this space.

Right: Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant, £38.50 for 75g

This gentle micro-exfoliating power utilized Rice bran and botanical brightening agents to smooth skin texture and balance pigmentation for a more even complexion. Models Favourite!

I think I have heard of this powder to creamy paste facial exfoliator before. It says for daily use, but I'm not sure how my skin will handle that as I only exfoliate my face twice a week. I will test it out and let you know how it goes.

The Information:

My Thoughts:

I find the description 'leaving a lasting impression of light, addictive Roman leather on the skin' a little strange. I do actually quite like the scent though. I would describe it as a sexy, warm summer fragrance. The bottle looks very sophisticated too. 

Ojon Damage Reverse Instant Restorative Hair Serum ~ £16.00, Link :)

The Information:

Application:

Warm one to two drops in palms of hands and apply to damp or dry hair concentrating on the ends. Use daily before heat styling or as a finishing touch.

My Thoughts:

This sounds like a nice enough hair serum, but we seem to get so many hair products that I'm a bit bored of them now.

I could not find this collection on the Harrods website I'm afraid, but on the ernolaszlo.com website the prices of the individual products are $175.00 for 1.7oz of Velvet Night Cream, $85.00 for 0.5oz of Instant Eye Repair, $125.00 for 1.7oz of Refresh Moisture Infusion, $140.00 for 1.7oz of Intensive Porcelain Veil and $95.00 for 1.7oz of Morning Beauty Rescue. I am looking forward to trying these products, but I hope I don't like them that much because they are so pricey. I like the sleek look of the packaging though. This is a really nice grown up shade. I would describe it as a brown rose colour. It has a nice sheen to it and is a smooth formula. Clarins Extra-Firming Body Cream ~ £39.50 For 200ml, Link :) The Information: Skin Type: Dry    Texture: Cream A rich, velvety cream to pamper the body. A formula rich in eight regenerating and firming plant extracts which help restore the skin's youthful density and elasticity. Moisturising and nourishing, this comforting body cream instantly smoothes away lines, leaving skin soft, satin-smooth and supple. Winner of Best Luxury Body Lotion Stylist Skincare Awards 2011 Winner of Best Body Firming Potion Cosmopolitan Beauty Awards 2011  My Thoughts: This feels like a very smooth cream with a clean, fresh scent. It's still more than I would usually pay for a body cream. So overall I do like this month's GlossyBox. I am not too bothered about the hair serum, but I like the other products so far. This box does feel quite sophisticated and a bit more expensive. I am not sure why the information card in this month's GlossyBox does not have the prices of the products? November Empties

Hello my wee petals. I hope you have had a good weekend. My 'Girls Night Out' was cancelled on Friday. I was so disappointed, but oh well I guess it wasn't meant to be. Have any of you lovelies been enjoying the Xmas festivities yet? In today's post I want to show you the products that I have used up in November.

Face/Lips

Loreal Revitalift Anti Wrinkle And Firming Day Cream 

The Information: 

As skin ages, facial tissues weaken and skin looses its firmness and wrinkles become more prominent. L'Oreal Revitalift Anti Wrinkle and Firming Day Cream contains pro-retinol A and fibre-elastyl to plump and nourish skin reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. As a result of this advanced L’Oreal research facial contours become more defined and skin feels firmer, fuller and smoother. Application:

After cleansing use L'Oreal Revitalift Anti Wrinkle and Firming Day Cream every morning on the face and neck. Avoid contact with the eyes. 

I have used this cream for many years. It smells good and feels comfortable on the skin. It's smooth and the night cream version of this found here feels amazing. I showed you this previously in my September Empties post as I had one at home and one at my boyfriend's. The day cream is currently being sold at Boots Pharmacy at a reduced price of £9.33 for 50ml.

Liz Earle Superskin Moisturiser 

The Information: 

This rich, luxurious, fragrance-free moisturiser for more mature or very dry skin contains a powerful blend of high quality naturally active ingredients to smooth, plump and replenish for healthy, rejuvenated-looking skin. Containing high levels of GLA and rich in omega-3, Superskin Moisturiser helps prevent moisture loss and improves skin elasticity, while pomegranate fruit extract and natural source vitamin E, both rich in antioxidants, help protect from environmental damage. Naturally active ingredients include precious cranberry, borage and rosehip seed oils. Suitable for mature/very dry skin. 

Application: 

Apply Superskin Moisturiser to face, neck and décolletage morning and night as part of your essential daily skincare regime.

For optimal results follow the specific facial massage techniques provided, to help clear toxins, reduce puffiness, boost circulation, encourage cell renewal and aid lymphatic drainage: 

Step 1: Apply to face with upward and outward movements using firm pressure.

Step 2: With your fingertips, lightly smooth in an outward circular direction along the cheekbones to above the eyebrows. 

Step 3: Using the thumb and ring finger gently pinch along the brow bone from the nose to the outer edge of the brow. 

Step 4: Finish by gently sweeping your hands up the neck and over the décolletage. 

This is a nice cream. My boyfriend bought this last June for me at my request as an anniversary present. Please see that post here. I like the packaging, but do I think it's worth the money? The simple answer for me is no. I would be happy to use this again if I received it as a gift, but I honestly do not think it improved my skin in any way. I have dry skin and a few wrinkles appearing. This cream did nothing more for my skin than the moisturiser above so I would rather buy the Loreal cream. Having said that it is a nice cream. This retails on the Liz Earle website at £12.75 for 15ml, £34.50 for 50ml or £100.50 for 3 x 50ml.

Ella Baché Crème Tomate Vitamin Radiance Cream

The Information:

This enriching cream contains extracts of fresh tomato which work naturally to purify, brighten & reveal a more vibrant complexion. 

Application:

Apply a pearl size amount between fingertips, pat onto face & massage in gently morning & evening. A delicious daily pick-me-up for your skin! 

I received this as part of my September Feelunique Beauty Box. Please see that post here. I like the luminous packaging of this product. This is a nice enough cream and I have heard that tomatoes are meant to be good for your skin, but at £35.00 for 50ml from feelunique I would not pay that price.  

Dermalogica Age Smart Renewal Lip Complex

The Information:

A daily lip treatment that minimizes contour lines and helps prevent the signs of aging. Contains no artificial fragrance or color.  

Application:

Apply to lips at least two times a day for lip health maintenance, or more frequently in periods of dryness or environmental exposure.

I received this product in my October GlossyBox. Please find that post here :) This felt smooth on application. The sample only lasted a few days as I have extremely dry lips that are always cracking and peeling. This did not improve the condition of my lips, but I kind of hoped it wouldn't as at £22.50 for 1.75ml it's a very expensive product. I would not buy this item.

Fragrant Flowers Rose Body Butter

I received this from a friend as part of a gift set last Xmas. I have seen something similar in Superdrug this year so I'm not sure if that is where it was from? Here is the link to that gift set here. It's a nice cream with a soft rose scent. It's looser than some body butters, but still a nice texture like a cream.

Hello Kitty Cherry Body Butter

My Mum bought this for me in Poundland a few months ago. I can't find it on the website I'm afraid which is a real shame as I love it. The scent is amazing. I have never noticed any cherry body creams around and this scent just stands out for me. I had to get my boyfriend to open this for me which left a small dent in the tin, but it's forgiven. I would purchase this if they still sell it.

Soap & Glory The Righteous Body Butter

The Information:

Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter Body Butter is a smooth, creamy, and velvety intense body lotion. With skin softening shea butter and aloe vera to attract moisture, some folks think it's a bit addictive!

Application:

Butter yourself up: After showering or bathing, smooth a generous handful of Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter onto damp skin and massage gently until it sinks in.  Then relax and take in the wonderful aroma's of leafy greens, bergamot and mandarin, with a floral and fruity middle note that makes your nose tingle a little, followed by soft, sexy, musk, oakmoss, amber and woody notes. Soap & Glory formulas are not tested on animals, only very picky people.

I received this as part of a gift set last Xmas. This also has a great scent to it. Gorgeous. It's a really nice cream that I would be happy to use again.

Superdrug Essential Anti-Perspirant Deodorant

This product is from Superdrug's essential range. This can is pretty big. The scent is really nice and I think great value for money. I can not find this product on the website, but I am almost 100% sure that this only cost 69p. I will be buying this product again. 

Superdrug Flirty Bodyspray

This is again from Superdrug and it looks to be from their Essential range as it has the wee star on. This is a lovely scent. Very day to night. Please see my post here where I purchased this product and a couple of the other scents in this range. I would buy this again. This is great value at just 99p for 75ml. 

Burberry Body Eau De Parfum Spray

I received this sample in my October Feelunique Beauty Box. This is a nice perfume that I was happy to wear. Please see all information on this product in my original post here.

Bvlgari Mon Jasmin Noir Eau De Parfum Spray

I received this sample as part of my November Feelunique Beauty Box. I really like this perfume and got complimented when wearing it. I would be happy to receive this for Xmas. Please see full information on this product in my original post here.

Nails

Left To Right: Pretty Nails Nail Polish Remover With Acetone, Opia Primark Nail Laquer In Black

Pretty Nails Nail Polish Remover With Acetone. 

I am really sorry as I am not sure where this product was purchased from. My Mum picked it up for me. The bottle is an unusual shape as it bends in at one side and out at the other. I would not recommend this product as it was rubbish at removing nail polish even with it containing acetone. 

Opia Primark Nail Laquer In Black

This nail laquer has a rubber lid which is good. I have had this now for 2/3 years and it has only just gone gloopy. The brush is a bit small, but it was very cheap at around £2.00 I think. Primark don't have this on their webiste so I can't be sure.

A two-in-one oil-free exfoliating wash for all skin types, this fresh, fruity cleanser contains rose hip extract, milk thistle, passion flower and chamomile in a non-stripping formula that rebalances even the most schizophrenic of skins.

The instructions are to splash your face with water, apply generously over face and neck, massage, rinse well and follow with a moisturiser.

I am a fan of products with gel formulas, but that's just my personal preference. This has a clean, calm and subtle scent. It's a 2 in 1 also which is a plus.

I tried using this product last night and I have to say I am impressed. This really did smooth out my flyaway hair and made it feel silky. It also gave it some volume. I really like the gel formula. I much prefer this to cream products for smoothing and volumising as they are just way too heavy for my hair, making it greasy. This also has a quite musky, but sweet scent. It's different, but I like it.

Crabtree & Evelyn India Hicks Island Living Spider Lily Ultra-Moisturising  Hand Therapy

The information:

The soft blend of spider lily along with night-blooming jasmine and other sea air accords make this scent truly one of kind and a luxurious way to keep your hands soft.

- Lightweight shea butter formula soothes and moisturises.
- Myrrh extract helps conditions cuticles and nails.
- Formulated without parabens, lauryl sulfates, mineral oil, and propylene glycol.

Fragrance: A soft blend of spider lily, citruses, night-blooming jasmine, green palms, and sea air accords. 

Obviously you just apply this to your hands and rub in as you desire. 

The cream sinks into the skin straight away. The scent is subtle, but a little old-fashioned for me. I will still give it a try though. I am really into my hand creams at the moment.

The instructions are to shake well and apply 2 coats. Ensure to also apply base and top coats.

This is my first Orly nail polish so this will be interesting to try. This is quite a nice shade.

Caudalie Vinexpert Radiance Day Fluid SPF10

The information:

This energising fluid with SPF10 offers complete firming, protective and anti-wrinkle action along with optimum moisture to ensure a glowing complexion all day long. 

Main ingredients: anti-ageing grapevine Resveratrol anti-oxidant grapevine polyphenols(OPC), strengthening and moisturising Vinolevure, coppery pearlizers and light-reflecting pigments for an instant healthy glow, toning ginseng, nourishing and moisturising cassia angustifolia, sodium hyaluronate, shea butter, olive squalane and pea, soothing pro-vitamin B5 and camomile, encapuslated sun filter, energising cypress, basil, mint, galbanum, mandarin and ylang-ylang. 

Obviously you just apply this as you would any face/neck moisturiser.

This is a smooth formula which is slightly fruity and slightly irridescent. I am always looking to try new moisturisers because I have such dry skin on my face. I like that it has an SPF.

Burberry Body Eau De Parfum Spray

The information:

Burberry Body is the new fragrance for women. Developed under the direction of Chief Creative Officer Christopher Bailey, Burberry Body is a sensual and feminine fragrance with an eclectic combination of luxurious, refined ingredients.

Top notes: Green absinthe, peach and freesia.
Middle notes: Rose absolute, iris and sandalwood.
Base notes: Cashmeran, vanilla, amber and musk. 

I would suggest to apply this to certain pulse points such as the insides of your wrists, behind your ears, insides of the elbows and at the back of your knees. 

This was a little extra from feelunique and who doesn't love something extra. I would say this has a slightly masculine scent which is quite fresh, yet musky. This is another one for me to try out at work :)

So that's it my loves. I really like the TIGI Catwalk Sleek Mystique Straight Collection Blow Out Balm. I'm looking forward to trying out the nail polish and the perfume too. I will try out all of the products in this month's Beauty Box and let you know what I think though.
