Body Talk

Hi there cherubs. I have four body products to talk about today and here they are.

Nip + Fab Mango Smoothie Dry Skin Fix Body Butter ~ Currently £4.95 for 200ml

I received this product in my April 2013 GlossyBox. I was excited to try a product from Nip + Fab as I had heard other bloggers mention other Nip + Fab products they liked. Giving this a quick sniff when I received it in my GlossyBox I thought the scent was okay, but when I applied it to my skin I found it all too sickly. Now I love sweet and fruity scents, but this one wasn't for me. My boyfriend thought it was fine and I did persevere using it for about three days in a row to see if I could get used to it, but I really couldn't so I will be passing this on.

Di Palomo Orange Blossom Dry Oil ~ £15.00 for 50ml

In 2011 I was sent a variety of Di Palomo products to try which you can see my first impressions of here. I must say that I love their products, but somehow this one got away from me and I came across it recently knowing I had to try it. I love the shape of the bottle, the simple design on the front and the cute flower around the top. I used this at first on my face at night as I really got used to using multi-purpose oils in the evening to really pamper my face and neck. This was a mistake on my part however I believe as my skin developed dry patches so I used it only on my body and it worked great. It can be used on the hair, but I enjoyed using it on my body and had other hair products that I was using at the time. The scent is gorgeous. I can really smell the orange blossom and honey it. It's sweet, but in a very mellow and relaxed way. This product is so quick and easy to use. You just spray it on and you barely have to rub it in as it is so quickly absorbed. I love it as I did with all of the other Di Palomo products. The only bad thing I can say is that the flower kept falling off when I used it, but it's easy to remove.

Duck Island Limited Body Lotion ~ £2.95 for 250ml

I had no idea when I received this product in my January 2013 GlossyBox that this product was for use in hotels. It seems a weird thing to put products like this in a GlossyBox. Anyway the cream itself felt nice on the skin and the scent was pleasant.

Clinique Turnaround Body Smoothing Cream

I won this in a raffle at work Xmas 2012. The cream is a white slightly loose formula that felt nice to use, but I didn't really feel that it did more than that. It worked well enough as an everyday cream. I'm afraid if you are interested in purchasing this product you will need to search Ebay or Amazon as I believe it to be discontinued.

So that's my body talk for today. What have you been loving to use on your body lately? Let me know with reasons why in the comments below.

Facial Skincare Reviews

Hi beauties. Today I am going to get straight into this post as I have many facial skincare reviews for you.

Clinique Take The Day Off Makeup Remover ~ £17.00 for 125ml

Winner of the SHE Magazine Beauty Awards 2011 for Best Eye Makeup RemoverThis 50ml bottle I won in a charity raffle at work. I really like this make-up remover which can be used on lids, lashes and lips. It easily removes any stubborn makeup without stinging sensitive areas such as the eyes. Suitable for contact lens wearers although I can't imagine removing my make-up with my lenses in. I simply give the bottle a shake, apply to a cotton pad and rub gently on the area to remove all traces of make-up. The lid design now appears to have changed, but I have not heard that the formula is any different.

Clinique 7 Day Scrub Cream ~ £18.50 for 100ml

Suitable for all skin types. I picked up this product with an issue of Glamour Magazine. This is a cream exfoliator that is fragrance free. I used this in the shower twice a week after my face wash. It worked well enough, but I wouldn't say that it made such a difference that I would buy it full price.

Dermalogica Age Smart Multivitamin Power Recovery Masque ~ £34.50 for 74ml

I received this product in my October 2011 GlossyBox. I really did enjoy using this masque. I applied this in quite a thick layer to a cleansed face and neck 1-2 times a week and left it on for 15 mins. When I washed it off with a soft flannel and warm water my skin felt really smooth and pampered. This masque is meant for ageing, stressed and damaged skin. My skin was plumped, glowy and youthful looking after using this product.

Dermalogica Total Eye Care ~ £37.90 for 15ml

I received this sample size at an event. The product had a skin tone shade to it, but when absorbed into the skin that disappeared. I did like applying this product that contains SPF15 because of the texture. I don't really suffer with dark circles so I can't comment on how it affects those. I don't really have bad fine lines yet either. The puffiness that usually appears however around my eyes I did not find reduced by this product.

Coola Organic Suncare Collection Mineral Face SPF 20 Rose Essence Tint ~ Various prices and sizes on Amazon

I received this product in my July 2013 GlossyBox. I didn't love the rose scent of this product when applying it, but I didn't hate it either. Once applied I never really noticed it anyway. This gave a lovely healthy looking glow to my skin, but it was just a tad too orange for me. Water resistant (40 mins).

Caudalie Divine Oil ~ Choice of size and price

I received this product in my May 2013 GlossyBox. This product was divine indeed. I did try it on my hair and body, but I loved savouring it for the evenings to smooth over my cleansed face and neck. I massaged it in thoroughly inhaling the scent which made me feel deeply relaxed.

Vichy Idelia Life Serum ~ Various stockists

Vichy Idelia Smoothing and Illuminating Cream ~ Various stockists

These Vichy products I received in my November 2013 GlossyBox. They felt nice enough on my skin when applied. Very glowing, healthy and youthful in appearance. Once the product had sunk in thoroughly though I wouldn't say that I noticed any dramatic difference.

So that's all of my latest facial skincare reviews. I hope that you found at least one of them useful. Let me know your favourites and why in the comments below. Have a great Sunday!

Mixed Product Reviews #5

Hi there my Beauty Addicted Lovelies. I hope you had a fine weekend. I didn't get up to much really which was nice in a way. I have been collecting up the packaging from products I have used up to let you know what my thoughts are on them so here they are :)

Left To Right:

Clinique Rinse-Off Foaming Cleanser, £14.40 for 150ml or $19.50 for 5 oz

For dry, combination, oily and normal skin types. Effectively removes makeup and sunscreen prior to skin cleansing. Skin feels moist, clean, and fresh.

Thoroughly wet hands and face. Squeeze a pea sized dot onto palm and work into a rich lather. Massage over face avoiding eye area. Rinse off and follow with 3-Step Skin Care System.

I won this product in a charity raffle at work. This doesn't have a distinctive scent. It felt fine to use on the skin. It did help to clean my skin and remove make-up, but there were just a few traces left when I rinsed this off so I used either make-up remover or face wipes as I would do anyway. There are beads in this, but I didn't really feel like they exfoliated my skin or anything as they weren't abrasive and I believe just got washed away.

Morrisons Pack Of 2 Toothbrushes (One Shown), 20p for two

I thought I would include this toothbrush as these were such great value. Usually I use an electric toothbrush, but if I ever run out of replacement heads I sometimes use a regular toothbrush as an in between. While in Morrisons I picked up this pack of two toothbrushes as for 20p I thought I'd give them a go. These have lasted so well. The bristles are sturdy, but not too harsh when brushing and there is no fall out.

Max Factor Ageless Elixir 2 in 1 Foundation + Serum (Light Ivory 40) SPF15, £12.18 or $21.95

Ageless Elixir foundation simultaneously helps to protect against the ageing effects of the sun, keeping skin moisturised and protected to help you look and feel your best. The secret to the foundation’s innovation is in the well-blended, ‘elixir’ formula, which helps to:

1. Deliver instant medium to high coverage – through Ageless Elixir's specially treated pigments that reflect light.
2. Improve skin tone by protecting and hydrating via the moisturising skincare formula.

I was previously sent this product for free which I reviewed here in the shade Natural 50. The shade Light Ivory 40 I purchased myself as I felt light I could do with a lighter shade which you can see in this post here. My thoughts are the same as my original review, but I think this shade suits my skin tone better.

Blink + Go Long Lasting Black Mascara, £12.95

I received this product in my December 2011 GlossyBox where you can find all information about this product.

I found this to be good for how deep the black was, but a little clumpy. It made my lashes look a bit thicker because of the clumping, but I prefer a more separated look.

Left To Right:

Morrisons Handwash Pearl, Less than £1.00 for 500ml

I have picked up this product many times on my weekly shop and it does what it's meant to. It has barely any scent which is soft and clean. I think this is around 60p which is such a value product and one which I will continue to repurchase.

Decleor Aromessence Spa Relax, £21.51 for 100ml

Aromessence Spa Relax is a pure concentrate of essential oils carefully formulated to bring you serenity and well-being. This light, yet luxurious oil works in perfect harmony with your skin to envelop your body with an intensly soothing sensation, soothe and ease away tension, relax your mind due to the potent olfactory benefits of its essential oils (Somalian Myrrh and Incense, Indian Sandalwood) and soften your skin and leave it silky smooth. Made in France.

I have no idea where I got this. It was either a present or a free gift with purchase from somewhere. This really does have a relaxing scent. Just smelling it makes me feel at ease. My fella and I use it for back massages. It's so soothing and makes you want to sleep.

Keep Clean And Shower Luxury Shower Gel Pomegranate Noir, 99p for 250ml

I picked up a few of these in various scents from the 99p Stores which you can see here. In that initial impressions post I describe this scent as 'soft, yet a little musky at the same time'. I really like it and I have picked up a few more already in case they stop selling it. My only fail with this is I wish it had a pump dispenser like the creams.

So that's all the mixed product reviews until I collect up some more for you. I hope you found this post helpful. Have you found any product discoveries that you now can't live without? Let me know in the comments below.

Christmas Raffle

Hi once again Beauty Addicts. I just thought I would share with you one of the ways we have fun and donate to charity at my place of work. One of the offices in my work building raise lots of money with raffles for the charity Demelza. For more information on what the charity is about click here.

For this raffle people that work in our offices donated unwanted gifts and just random things they no longer use that are still in good condition. There was even an X-Box with a game that a few of the boys had their eyes on. Myself and friends at work kept getting up and buying more and more tickets throughout the day as it gets addictive. I am a shopaholic don't ya know ;)

I won a cute bag which I gave to a friend for her daughter and a pink keyboard which I gave to another friend for her niece. One of the girls won some Clarins products that she split with me and another friend and here are mine ......

I plan on reviewing these so you will see my thoughts on them at a later date once I have thoroughly tried and tested them. The Clinique products are:

Rinse-Off Foaming Cleanser

Take The Day Off Makeup Remover For Lids, Lashes & Lips

Turnaround Body Smoothing Cream

I am always happy to try out new products, but it feels more rewarding to know that I got them by myself and my friends donating to a worthwhile cause.

Have you tried any of these products? If so, what do you like/dislike about them? Let me know in the comments below.

Drag Queen/Evil Fairy For Halloween

Hi All. I hope you have been having a lovely weekend. Today I want to show you another look that I have created for Halloween. I originally started off wanting to create something sparkly and fun, but it turned out quite dramatic. This is why I have named this look 'Drag Queen/Evil Fairy'.

If you are interested in creating this look then please follow these steps:

Step 1: Apply NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk all over the eyes and over the eye brows. Use you ring finger to blend. Here is a link to this product, Link :)

Step 2: Using the 17 Eye Trio in Pretty In Pink apply the shadows lightest to darkest from the inner to the outer of the eyes. Here is a link to this product, Link :)

Step 3: Apply the purple shade from the Beauty UK Eyeshadow & Eyeliner Collection 1 palette as a winged eyeliner. I can not find this on the Superdrug website I'm afraid, but I am sure you can still buy this in store.

Step 4: Using Sleek MakeUP's Limited Edition Sparkle I-Divine Palette apply the shade Gold Ribbon to the inner eyes and to the outer area underneath the eye brows.

Then apply the shade Dream Maker over the eye brows, to the sides of the nose near the inners of the eyes, in the eye creases and wing out to meet the wing of the eye brows and under the eyes.

Add the shade Twinkle to define these lines. As this was limited edition it is no longer available on the Sleek MakeUP website.

Step 5: Apply the MUA shade 5 Pearl under the eyes. Here is a link to this product, Link :)

Step 6: Using the NYX Gigantic Glitter Cream Palette apply the top left (orange/gold) shade to the inners of the eyes.

Then apply the 2nd line down, far right shade (gold) to the inners of the eyes and under the brow bones.

Apply from the top row, 3rd from left (light pink) shade over the top of the inner pink eye shadow that was previously applied.

To the middle of the eye apply the top row, far right (pink) shade over the middle pink eye shadow shade.

Over the outer pink eye shadow apply the bottom row, 5th from left (pink) shade.

Over all of the blue eye shadow apply the apply the bottom row, fourth from left (dark blue) shade.

Apply the top row, second from right (lime green) shade over the green eye shadow under the eyes. Here is a link to this palette, Link :)

Step 7: Apply the Eyeko Graffiti Eyeliner Pen in Jet Black to the top and bottom lash lines. This exact product is no longer available on the website, but they do have this similar product.

Step 8: Apply the Ultra Black Bourjois Kohl to the waterline. I am not sure if this is the exact same pencil, but I think it is as it is still named Ultra Black, Link :)

Step 9: Apply NYX Single Eyeshadow in Black over the eyeliner. Here is a link to this product, Link :)

Step 10: From the Sleek MakeUP Limited Edition Sparkle I-Divine Palette apply the shade Twinkle over that.

Step 11: Apply Estée Lauder Double Wear in the shade Bone to the face and neck. Obviously this shade may not be right for you so alter as necessary. Here is a link to this product, Link :)

Step 12: Apply Benefit Boi-ing Concealer in the shade 02 over any blemishes. Again alter the shade as necessary. Here is a link to this product, Link :)

Step 13: Apply Primark's Ta Ta For Now Concealer Pen in the shade Light down the centre of the nose and under the eyes. Unfortunately Primark do not show this product on their website, but use a concealer pen shade to suit you.

Step 14: Apply Me Me Me Blush Me! Box in the shade 3 Bronze to contour the cheeks. Shade underneath the cheekbones and in a downward angle. Here is a link to this product, Link :)

Step 15: Apply Illamasqua Powder Blusher in the shade Sin to the apples of the cheeks. Here is a link to this product, Link :)

Step 16: Apply Eyeko Extra Glow Cream as a highlight above cheekbones and to the cupids bow. This is no longer available on the Eyeko website I'm afraid, but you can use any cream highlighter.

Step 17: Apply Clinique High Impact Mascara in Black to top and bottom eye lashes. Here is a link to this product, Link :)

Step 18: Apply the Black/Silver Holographic False Eyelashes that come in a pack with false nails and lash/nail glue from Poundland. I found this eyelash glue to be quite watery so bear this in mind if using these eyelashes and perhaps use one that works for you. I found these quite hard to apply which is why they don't look fantastic in the photos as they are not very flexible. I am very much of a novice in  applying false eyelashes though. Here is a link to this product which is shown here in Purple, Link :). They also come in red.

Step 19: Apply Poundland Beauty Nation 3/4 Glam Lashes to the lower lash line in an upside down application. The lashes I used are 3/4 lashes that cross over, but here is a link to another set of Glam Lashes that are similar, Link :)

Step 20: Apply NYX Almost Black Round lipstick and into a joker type smile with a flat brush. Here is a link to this product, Link :)

Step 21: From the Sleek MakeUP Limited Edition Sparkle I-Divine Palette apply the shade Festive onto this lip shape.

Step 22: Apply Primark Lip Gloss (clear with green & blue glitter flecks) over the lip shape. This is not available to see on Primark's website, but you can use any clear lip gloss with glitter flecks.

Step 23: Using StarGazer Permanent Tattoo Pens in Black (01), Blue (10) & Purple (07) I drew on the designs shown in the photos to the outer corners of the eyes. You do not need to copy this exact design. Here is a link to these products, Link :) Do not be afraid of the word permanent as this design came off easily when I removed my make-up.

Step 24: Add this wig in the style Ella. Clip it up at the back, leaving some strands hanging down. I also clipped the area at the front over to one side. This product is available here.

I think this look came out quite well apart from the mouth. I am not sure how I would have done it differently, but I guess it adds to that Drag Queen/Evil look. If you want to create this look or something similar you do not need to use these exact products. You could also add some sparkly accessories to the wig if you like. Just have fun creating.

PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN APPLYING/REMOVING FALSE EYE LASHES. PERHAPS SEEK ASSISTANCE IF UNDER THE AGE OF 18!!

What do you think of this look? Have you come up with any creations for Halloween? Let me know in the comments below.

Two-Tone Metallic Eyeliner

Hey there my loves. The sun is shining and I'm in a good mood. I hope you are all having a lot of fun this weekend. Today's post is about me trying out different type of eyeliner look.

I really enjoyed having something a bit more fun on my eyes for the day. Here are the products that I used:

  • E.L.F. Eyelid Primer in Sheer ~ All over the eyelid
  • MUA Eyeshadow in Shade 1 - Pearl ~ All over the eyelid
  • Clarins Eyebrow Pencil in 01 Dark Brown ~ Applied in short strokes through the eye brows
  • 17 Clear Definition Mascara ~ Brushed through the eye brows to keep them in place
  • Jane Iredale Purelash Extender & Conditioner ~ Applied to the eye lashes to condition and prime for mascara
  • Clinique High Impact Mascara in Black - Applied in two coats to the upper eye lashes with a little extra on the outer corners. One coat to bottom eye lashes
  • MUA Eye Liner in Snow White - Applied to the water line
  • Collection 2000 Glam Metallics Coloured Liquid Eyeliners in Punk 5 & Fierce 2 ~ Punk 5 applied to the upper lash line into a flick. Fierce 2 applied to the lower lash line to join the upper line

Left: Punk 5, Right: Fierce 2

Here are links to the products:

MUA Eye Liner in Snow White ~ I could not find this on the Superdrug website, but I am pretty sure you can still buy this and I think it is £1.00?

Collection 2000 Glam Metallics Coloured Liquid Eyeliners in Punk 5 & Fierce 2 ~ Unfortunately I got these in a goody bag when I attended a show prior to blogging and I can not find them on the Collection 2000 website, sorry :(

It's a real shame as they lasted for ages and really made my eyes look fun. I was very sinful and didn't take my make-up off before bed and they were still pretty much in tact in the morning. I had to use a cleanser and eye make-up remover quite thoroughly to get these off. Now that's impressive.

If you want to create a similar look you can always use what you already have or a different type of eyeliner. It doesn't have to be liquid/metallic or these exact colours. Just have some fun. Take a look at the Collection 2000 website to see if you could perhaps use the Extreme 24 hour Felt Tip Liners to attempt this type of look? I have not used them before, but here is the Link :)

Have you tried a look similar to this before? Do you have any Collection 2000 favourites?

Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief

How are my lovelies today? The weather has been better today so that's something to be grateful for I guess. Today I wanted to talk to you about one of the products that I tried with an issue of Glamour magazine when various Clinique products were free with it. I bought many of the magazines and gave them to friends and family as I have never tried anything from Clinique before and couldn't hold back. One product that stood out for me was the Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief.

This product is meant for all skin types. It claims to wash away fine lines, flakiness and tightness instead making skin supple, firm and vibrant.

Now I have not turned into a glamour puss after using this, but the feeling when you apply it is amazing. I feel like my skin is made over instantly. I did try the Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion, also with the Glamour magazine offer and I was disappointed. There has been so much hype around this product, but I was glad to find that Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief beats it hands down.

The Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief has a creamy/gel like consistency which really does make your skin feel supple and smooth. You can also use it as a 5 minute mask, although I can't imagine wanting to take it off. It currently retails on Clinique's website for £30 for 50ml. If you really want to appreciate your moisturiser I would definitely recommend this one.

What are your favourite moisturisers? I have really dry skin so I am always looking out for the best low-mid price ones. Are there any other Clinique products that you would recommend?

Love to you all
