January 2012 Empties

Hello you sweet people. It's the weekend, yay! I get a bit excited when the sun is out if you can't tell :) I am so sorry it's later than I wanted it to be, but here is my post on the products I used up in January and my thoughts on them.

Face

Left To Right: No7 Radiance Revealed Exfoliator, Link :), Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic Spritzer, Link :), No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Beauty Serum, Link :), Yon-Ka Vital Defense, Link :), Korres Wild Rose 24-Hour Moisturiser SPF 6, Link :), Lierac Creme Mesolift Anti-Aging Radiance, Link :)

No7 Radiance Revealed Exfoliator ~ £8.00 for 75ml

The Information:

No7 Radiance Revealed Exfoliator contains a special blend of different sized exfoliating particles, this light and gentle facial exfoliator deeply clenses, helps promote cell renewal and refines pores, leaving skin soft, smooth, energised and glowing with health. No7 Radiance Revealed Exfoliator contains natural fruit acids to brighten skin, plus conditioning pro-vitamin B5.

Application:

Once or twice a week, gently massage a small amount into cleansed, damp skin, avoiding the delicate eye area. Wash away thoroughly with warm water. Avoid direct contact with eyes. If product gets into the eyes rinse well with water immediately.

I have been using this product twice a week. The granules exfoliate my skin without feeling harsh. My skin is very dry and sensitive, especially on my face so I do not use facial exfoliators more than two or three times a week. There isn't much of a scent to it it's very mild. I use mine while I'm in the shower as I find I'm more likely to use it. This is available at Boots Pharmacy and boots.com

Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic Spritzer ~ £5.00 for 30ml

The Information:

This heavenly floral-scented, non-drying toner refreshes, soothes and brightens your skin. Gentle and alcohol-free, it also adds a fine layer of moisture.

Application:

Moisten a cotton wool pad and sweep over face and neck every morning and night after cleansing with Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser or using one of their special treatment masks. Whether your skin is dehydrated, oily, dull or congested, the nourishing and brightening botanicals will help to leave your skin feeling soft and looking fresh for longer. It also primes your skin perfectly for your choice of Liz Earle Moisturiser. Alternatively spritz over face and body to revitalise at any time. The fine mist can even be used over make-up.

Ingredients:

Naturally active ingredients include organic aloe vera to revitalise and soften and calendula, chamomile, cucumber and natural source vitamin E to soothe and refresh the skin.

Aqua (water), Aloe barbadensis (aloe vera) leaf juice, Glycerin, PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil, Cucumis sativus (cucumber) fruit extract, Calendula officinalis (calendula) flower extract, Anthemis nobilis (chamomile) extract, Humulus lupulus (hops) extract, Panthenol, Allantoin, Tocopherol (vitamin E), Tocopheryl acetate, Parfum (fragrance), Citronellol, Coumarin, Geraniol, Linalool, Sodium hydroxide, Phenoxyethanol, Benzoic acid, Dehydroacetic acid, Ethylhexylglycerin, Polyaminopropyl biguanide.

I received this as part of a gift that my boyfriend bought for me. Please find that post here. Now I'm not sure if this does magical things to my skin, but it certainly feels refreshing to use. This 30ml bottle has lasted for a while so it's pretty good value. This product comes in various sizes and you can choose the option of a bottle that you pour or a spray bottle like mine. I think it's great that they give you this option. I first cleanse, remove make-up if I have been wearing any and sometimes exfoliate. I then spritz this over my face rather than applying it with a cotton wool pad as suggested. That's just the way I have been doing it as a preference. It feels quite wet as I apply it liberally, but my skin soaks it up very quickly. I then follow with neck tightening spray, face serum and face moisturiser. This product is available from lizearle.com, Liz Earle stores, John Lewis Stores, QVC, Fenwick Bond Street and boutique stockists.

The last time I reviewed this product was in my September Empties post here. Now I'm not sure if it's because I'm getting older or if my skin has just changed, but this product is not taking care of my fine lines and wrinkles like it used to.  I would still recommend this product for someone with just one or two lines forming. I am tempted to try Nanoblur Optical Skin Cream, Link :), but I haven't read many reviews on it yet. Have you tried it. What did you think?

Yon-Ka Vital Defense

All information is in this link here as I received this product in my 1st JolieBox in December.

This was a nice cream, but that's all I have to say about it really. I'm not sure of it's price I'm afraid.

Korres Wild Rose 24-Hour Moisturiser SPF 6

I received this product in my November Boudoir Prive box. Please see that post with all the information here

Again this was a nice enough moisturiser.

Lierac Creme Mesolift Anti-Aging Radiance

I received this product in my January Feelunique Beauty Box. Please see that post with all the information here

I love the scent and appearance of this product. The packaging is nice and brightening too. It is a nice moisturiser, but a bit expensive.

Body

Left To Right: Mama Mio O.Mega Body Buff, Link :), Deadsea Spa Magik Bath Salts, Link :), Cussons Imperial Leather Little Treat Pampering Cherry Blossom & Vanilla Bean Shower Cream, Superdrug Body Spray (Seduction), Link :)

Mama Mio O.Mega Body Buff ~ £23.00 for 200ml

I received this product in my June GlossyBox. Please see that post here for all the information.

I used this product mainly on my body, but a couple of times on my face. It's a nice enough exfoliator and not too harsh for the face so it's good that you can use it as a duo product. I found the bottle hard to squeeze the product out of though so I ended up unscrewing the lid and smacking it out instead. It's nice, but even if they changed the bottle to a squeezy tube I still wouldn't buy it as it's too expensive. It does smell good though.

Deadsea Spa Magik Bath Salts ~ £5.89 for 1000g

I received this product in my November GlossyBox. Please find all the information in that post here.

I am not usually a fan of bath salts, but these made my bath water feel smooth on my skin. There was no gritty layer on the bottom of the bath. I prefer foaming bubbles in my bath as it adds to the relaxation and I feel a bit bare without them. If they could change the packaging to a tub that would be great.

Cussons Imperial Leather Little Treat Pampering Cherry Blossom & Vanilla Bean Shower Cream ~ 99p for 250ml

The Information:

Mild enough for the whole family, dermatologically tested, 100% soap free and skin friendly PH.

Cherry Blossom - A light and alluring fragrance, a Chinese symbol of female beauty

Vanilla Bean - Warm, comforting and relaxing

I picked this up in the 99p Stores and I love it. I can't find it on their website now so I'm not sure if it's still available. It smells amazing. It has that real baby scent to it. I love, love, love it <3

Superdrug Body Spray (Seduction) ~ 69p for 35ml

The Information:

A sultry body spray with a touch of musk to spritz generously over your skin. Let the sensual tones ravish your senses. Suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

Application:

Shake well, hold 15-20cm from body and spray.

I purchased this product in my Superdrug Haul in August. Please see that post here. This scent really is seductive. I think this product is great value, but I hope it is not just reduced to the travel size now as mine is a 75ml can.

Left To Right: The Body Shop Cocoa Butter Hand & Body Lotion, Link :), Hello Kitty Strawberry Body Butter, Next Just Pink Shimmer Body Lotion, Etro Fragrances (Vicolo Fiori, Heliotrope & Etra Etro), Link :)

The Body Shop Cocoa Butter Hand & Body Lotion ~ £8.00 for 250ml

The Information:

This lightweight but richly moisturising body lotion has a sweet cocoa scent.
  • Moisturising
  • Leaves skin feeling soft and smooth
  • Sweet cocoa scent

Application:

Massage into skin and allow to sink in before dressing.

Ingredients:

  • Community Fair Trade cocoa butter
  • Sunflower seed oil

Aqua (Water) (Solvent/Diluent), Theobroma cacao (Cocoa Butter) (Emollient), Glycerin (Humectant), Helianthus annuus (Sunflower Seed Oil) (Emollient), Ceteth-20 (Emulsifier), Octyl Palmitate (Emollient), Steareth-2 (Emulsifier), Dimethicone (Skin Conditioning Agent), Phenoxyethanol (Preservative), Benzyl Alcohol (Preservative), Carbomer (Stabiliser/Viscosity Modifier), Potassium Sorbate (Preservative), Methylparaben (Preservative), Parfum (Fragrance), Propylparaben (Preservative), Sodium Hydroxide (pH Adjuster), Citronellol (Fragrance Ingredient), Benzophenone-4 (Sunscreen), Disodium EDTA (Chelating Agent), Linalool (Fragrance Ingredient), Geraniol (Fragrance Ingredient), Amyl Cinnamal (Fragrance Ingredient), Hydroxycitronellal (Fragrance Ingredient), Benzyl Salicylate (Fragrance Ingredient), Limonene (Fragrance Ingredient), Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone (Fragrance Ingredient), Benzyl Benzoate (Solvent), Isoeugenol (Fragrance Ingredient), Cinnamyl Alcohol (Fragrance Ingredient), Farnesol (Fragrance Ingredient), Citral (Fragrance Ingredient), Eugenol (Fragrance Ingredient), Benzyl Cinnamate (Fragrance Ingredient), CI 15985 (Colour), CI 19140 (Colour).

I received this product as a Secret Santa gift from work about 2/3 years ago. I never used to like the scent of cocoa butter, but I do quite like it now. I believe that most fake tans have a cocoa bean underlying scent to them and I don't mind this. Again I ended up unscrewing the lid on this when it got near the end as the bottle is quite stiff and it's hard to get the product out.

Hello Kitty Strawberry Body Butter ~ £1.00 for 75g

My Mum picked this up for me when she also got the cherry scented one. Please see that post review here in my November Empties. This is from Poundland. I love the cute tin and the cream smells gorgeous. I do prefer body creams, lotions and butters that you don't scoop out as it gets under my nails and drives me mad, but it's Hello Kitty so I can't fault it really :)

Next Just Pink Shimmer Body Lotion

The Information:

A fresh floral fragrance containing mandarin, freesia and peach, resting on a heart of lily of the valley, rose, jasmine and wild orchid. A lightly fragranced body lotion that will help leave your skin feeling soft, smooth and lightly shimmering.

Application:

Gently massage into the skin.

I received this product a few years ago from a friend as part of a gift set. I can not find it on the Next website. It does have a very soft and gentle scent to it. The shimmer is more of a sheen really. There are no chunky glitter particles in it.

Etro Fragrances (Vicolo Fiori, Heliotrope & Etra Etro) ~ Various Sizes/Prices in the link under the photo

I received these fragrances in my November GlossyBox. Please see that post here for my thoughts on these scents. These are available from House Of Fraser.

Make-Up

Left To Right: E.L.F. Studio Tinted Moisturiser SPF 20 (Porcelain), Link :), Bourjois Khol & Contour Ultrablack Eyeliner Pencil, Link :)

E.L.F. Studio Tinted Moisturiser SPF 20 (Porcelain) ~ £3.50 for 0.88floz

The Information:

This lightweight and hydrating formula is breathable and provides anti-aging sun protection with UVA/UVB SPF 20. Achieve even skin tone and naturally radiant skin with this moisturizing sheer tint of color. The smooth formula enhances your complexion with the nourishing key ingredients Aloe, Cucumber and Vitamins A, C & E.

Application:

To use just apply to clean skin in an upward and outward motion with a makeup sponge or foundation brush to achieve a flawless look.

Ingredients:

ACTIVE: Benzophenone-3, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Titanium Dioxide.
INACTIVE: Water, Mineral Oil, Cyclomethicone, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Propylene Glycol, Dimethicone, Steareth-21 Cetearyl Alcohol, Ceteareth-2, Glyceryl Stearate, Xanthan Gum, Methylparaben, Propylparabem, Tocopherol(VE), Retinyl Acetate(VA), Ascorbyl Palmitate(VC), Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, MAY CONTAIN: Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891) .

Please see my full review on this product here.

Bourjois Khol & Contour Ultrablack Eyeliner Pencil

I have had this eyeliner for absolutely ages. I am not sure what I paid for it at the time. The information on the Bourjois website describes this as intense colour for up to 16 hours so I'm not sure if it's been updated?

Here is the information on the current eyeliner version of this product:

Enriched with pure pigments, this kohl allows for an intense result from the very first stroke and lasts up to 16 hours*

Its soft and blendable formula is ideal to apply both on the inner and outer rims of the eye. Hypoallergenic, with natural wax and vitamin E, it is gentle on the delicate eye contour area. Available in 7 shades.

*Scientifically tested on 22 consumers - result obtained on 32% of panelists

This eyeliner does have a quite intensely black and creamy, smooth formula to it. I'm not sure if I have dropped it too many times, but I can not sharpen it anymore as the pencil keeps breaking every time I do.

Dental

Left To Right: Colgate Max White One, Link :), Macleans Whitening Fluoride Toothpaste

Colgate Max White One ~ £3.99 for 75ml

The Information:

Colgate Max White One Fresh toothpaste with White Accelerator micro-crystals safely removes stains and prevents tartar build-up to help you get one shade whiter teeth in one week.

Now I admit I did not take before and after pictures of my teeth so I can't say for sure, but I didn't notice any difference in the shade of my teeth. I didn't mind the taste and freshness of this one though as I don't like the Colgate toothpaste that is the plain white one. I don't like the taste and my mouth doesn't feel as fresh as it should after brushing. I got this for free when I went to BINTM LIve! last year. Please see that post here

Macleans Whitening Fluoride Toothpaste

The Information:

Clinically proven to whiten teeth after 28 days of daily usage. Not suitable for children under the age of 7 years.

Application:

Brush twice daily for clean teeth, healthy gums and fresh breath.

This was good enough to use, but I didn't test it properly for whitening. I didn't notice any shade change.

Candles

Left To Right: Betty Crocker Candle (Apple Pie) & StarLytes Scented Candle (Candy Cane)

Betty Crocker Candle (Apple Pie) ~ 99p

I picked this up in the 99p Stores. This has such a warm, autumnal scent to it. I threw the packaging away before taking this photo.

StarLytes Scented Candle (Candy Cane) ~ 99p for 85g

I also picked this up in the 99p Stores. This really does smell like candy canes. These are both such great value and you could use the jars for storage or to put tea lights in when you have finished with these candles.

I bought these candles and others before Xmas. Please see my original post here.

Products I would repurchase:

Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic Spritzer

Cussons Imperial Leather Little Treat Pampering Cherry Blossom & Vanilla Bean Shower Cream

Superdrug Body Spray (Seduction)

E.L.F. Studio Tinted Moisturiser SPF 20 (Porcelain)

Betty Crocker Candle (Apple Pie)

StarLytes Scented Candle (Candy Cane)

So that's it for my January Empties. So sorry it's late. I will be posting about my February Empties soon :)

What have you used up lately? Did you love, loathe or just like the products?

Love to you all

January 2012 Feelunique Beauty Box

Hello Loves. I am busy pottering around at home today, but I am quite glad I have nothing specific to do as I'm just plain knackered. I will be celebrating a birthday later though so some cake will be involved :) In today's post I am showing you what products I received in my January 2012 Feelunique Beauty Box. This box is called New Year, New You.

Left To Right: Lierac Creme Mesolift Anti-Aging Radiance, Link :), Lierac Comfort Peel, Link :), Deadsea Spa Magik Salt Brushing, Link :)

Lierac Creme Mesolift Anti-Aging Radiance ~ £29.80 for 50ml

The Information:

Drawing inspiration from facial mesotherapy, Lierac Laboratories offer “THE” ultimate anti-fatigue cream for the skin, based on “THE” mesolift cocktail used by doctors to energise, replump and illuminate the skin. A fresh and creamy formula, it contains the mesolift cocktail (5%) and citrus AHAs for instant radiance-revealing anti-aging action, boosted by illuminating pigments. Apricot butter and lime wax provide hydration and comfort.

Results: an immediate radiance boost, skin that feels toned and ideally moisturised, and a reduction in the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.

Application:

Apply morning and/or night, depending on the skin’s needs. Ideal as a complement to Concentre Mesolift in order to comfort tired skin.

I have been using this product for a few days. I love the peach colour. It smells pleasant and smooths nicely onto the skin. It's a nice moisturiser, but it's a bit too expensive for me.

Lierac Comfort Peel

The Information:

Comfort Peel is an ultra-comfortable, ‘high-tolerance’ cream containing high concentrations of new-generation hydroxy-acids for a genuine ‘new skin effect’. Used daily or as a complement to a dermatological face peel, this cream works to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and restore radiance to the complexion. It leaves skin looking smooth, even and ideally moisturized.

I will give this product a try, but I am a little scared of the word peel I must admit. I am sure it's nothing more than a face serum/moisturiser, which is why I am confused by the word peel. I will let you know how I find it to work. I could not find this product on the feelunique website, but I have added a link to the Lierac website above.

Deadsea Spa Magik Salt Brushing ~ £12.25 for 500g

The Information:

This is Dead Sea Spa Magik's number one, best-selling product. Suitable for those who desire a highly nourishing exfoliating treatment. It naturally exfoliates without irritating. Vitamin E is an anti-oxidant therefore having an anti-ageing and healing effect, and the Coconut oil nourishes and hydrates the skin.

Features:

- Helps break down adipose tissue
- Reduces cellulite
- Detoxifies the body
- Increases lymph flow
- Improves blood circulation
- Speeds up cell metabolism and stimulates cell regeneration
- Relaxes the muscles
- Soothes nerve endings.

Application:

Use a small amount of Salt Brushing and apply onto dry skin with circular movements into the skin until the salts dissolve, shower off excess. Exfoliate as above and then get into a bath and you will have a luxurious silky bath with the Coconut Oil and Vitamin E.

Ingredients:

Maris Sal (Dead Sea Salts)*, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride (Coconut Oil), Parfum**, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E).

*Special de-ionised water with Pure Dead Sea Minerals: Magnesium, Potassium, Calcium, Sodium as Bromides, Chlorides and Sulphates.

**Allergen-free blend with essential oils.

Harmonised Water.
Allergen-free Fragrance.
No Parabens.

I already received these before in my September GlossyBox. Please see my September Empties post for my thoughts here :)

Left To Right: Caudalie Vinotherapie Nourishing Body Lotion, Link :), Phyto PhytoBaume Color Protect Express Conditioner, Link :), This Works Clean Skin For The Face, Link :)

Caudalie Vinotherapie Nourishing Body Lotion ~ £21.50 for 400ml

The Information:

Caudalie Nourishing Body Lotion is a rich, hydrating body treatment, enriched with plant-derived ingredients that provides intense nutrition and anti-oxidant action to your skin. Unctuous, it encourages micro-circulation and helps prevent premature skin aging. This nourishing lotion by Caudalie leaves skin gorgeously soft and firm. Caudalie Vinotherapie Nourishing Body Lotion can also be used by pregnant women as it promotes micro-circulation and can help to prevent stretch marks.

This has a smooth texture and a fresh scent. I like the idea of this helping to prevent stretch marks and that it's meant to leave your skin supple yet toned. I do love a good cream so I will give this a go. This product is shown as limited edition on the website, but I'm not sure if that's the size or the actual product? I think it's not too bad a price if it's that good and I like the pump dispenser on the 400ml bottle shown in the link above.

Phyto PhytoBaume Color Protect Express Conditioner ~ £10.20 for 150ml

The Information:

Grapefruit and sea buckthorn extracts, castor oil, sunflower extract, hibiscus flower acids, mallow extraction (78%). Phyto PhytoBaume Color Protect Express Conditioner instantly detangles and protects colour-treated or highlighted hair. Sea buckthorn extract has nurturing and antioxidant properties that acts as a cellular protector to lock-in colour and prevent fading. Grapefruit extract combined with hibiscus flower acids seal the cuticle for ultimate shine. Hair becomes easier to detangle with improved manageability, and is soft and shiny. Colour is protected and vibrant.

Application:

After shampooing, apply a small amount of Phyto PhytoBaume Color Protect Express Conditioner to damp hair. Rinse immediately.

This product was sealed so I didn't want to open it until I use it so I'm not sure what it smells like. I am not sure why it instructs you to rinse it out immediately after applying it as I usually leave conditioners on for a least a couple of minutes to give them a chance to work?

This Works Clean Skin For The Face ~ £18.00 for 150ml

The Information:

"This is by far the best cleanser I have tried this year. It's a creamy, soothing cleanser packed with essential oils. Make-up is removed in moments & skin is left fresh." - Handbag.com.

A non drying cream cleanser derived from essential oils. Clean Skin has a cleansing and balancing blend of active ingredients which include Palmarosa essential oil (moisturising and hydrating to help fight wrinkles), Petigrain essential oil (a gentle skin anti-septic which helps to clear up excess oil and skin blemishes), Frankincense essential oil (assists skin health and vitality, reduces oily skin and rejuvenates more mature skin), Rosehip oil (good source of vitamin C, which is essential in the formation and synthesis of collagen in the skin).

Application:

Use morning and evening, massage in lightly with fingertips over the face and eye area and rinse off with water. Suitable for all skin types.

Ingredients:

Aqua, Caprylic/ Capric Trigylcerides, Cetearyl Alcohol, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond Oil), Sorbitan Olivate, Xanthan Gum, Polysorbate- 20, Polysorbate 60, Rosa Rubiginosa Seed Oil (Rosehip Seed Oil), Cetearyl Olivate, Biosaccharide Gum-1, Citrus Amara (Petitgrain) Oil, Cymbopogon Martinii (Palmarosa) Oil, Eucalyptus Globulus (Eucalytpus) Oil, Parfum (Pure Essential Oil), Boswellia Carterii (Frankincense) Oil, Sodium Hydroxymethylglycinate, Phenoxyethanol.

I would say this has a gel/cream consistency. It claims to remove ALL make-up and dirt so I will definitely be giving this a road test.

So on to my overall thoughts of this month's box. I like the Lierac Creme Mesolift Anti-Aging Radiance so far, but I think it's a little expensive. The Lierac Comfort Peel I think will be interesting to try. I'm not a massive fan of the Deadsea Spa Magik Salt Brushing having tried them out already and a little dissapointed as it's nothing new for me to try. I have tried a few Caudalie products since purchasing various beauty boxes and they are nice enough so I will use the Caudalie Vinotherapie Nourishing Body Lotion. The Phyto PhytoBaume Color Protect Express Conditioner I'm sure will be okay too. The This Works Clean Skin For The Face I am looking forward to trying as I do like that fresh, totally clean feeling. I think this is a good box, but I would have preferred something perhaps make-up and/or nail related instead of the Deadsea Spa Magik Salt Brushing and Phyto PhytoBaume Color Protect Express Conditioner.

Silky Smooth Body Lotion helps maintain moisture level of the skin, improves skin elasticity and deeply moisturises, leaving skin feeling soft and supple. Ideal as a cooling after-sun agent.

  • Easily absorbed
  • Calms and soothes

Application:

Apply Silky Smooth Body Lotion daily using gentle massage movements after a bath or shower.

This smells nice and feels smooth. I found this at Holland & Barrett for £4.00, Link :)

Korres Wild Rose 24-Hour Moisturiser SPF 6

The Information:

Wild Rose oil is a natural source of vitamin C, which demonstrates significant repairing activity to fine lines and skin colour disorders. The extract of the desert plant Imperata cylindrica ensures 24-hour moisturising, by continually regulating the cellular water equillibrium. Thanks to it's anti-oxidant capacity, the combination of Grape seed and phytic acid helps maintain youthful skin.

Application:

Apply to the face and neck, avoiding the eye area. I found this on Amazon for £17.39, Link :)

This feels okay on swatching. Although this is wild rose I could not smell a scent to it. I like that it's SPF 6. I am not sure about it's claims to keep you moisturised for 24 hours. Can a moisturiser really do this? I would like to know why it suggests avoiding the eye area on application. If you know please tell me.

Rahua Voluminous Shampoo

I received two sachets of the shampoo and two sachets of the conditioner. They came in the little bag shown in the photo which is handy for me to put some jewellery in or something for a Xmas present when I'm wrapping. I found the shampoo on Amazon for £20.00, Link :) and the conditioner on Amazon for £22.00, Link :)

Left To Right: Vinies Luminous Skin Mask (X2), Link :) & StudioMakeup Rich Hydration Lipstick, Link :)

Vinies Luminous Skin Mask (X2)

The Information:

Vinies Luminous Skin Mask combines gentle exfoliants and natural skin brighteners with complexion enhancing toners and moisturizers for a mask that helps moisturize and even skin tone; enhance your complexion; and keep your skin glowing throughout the day. It will refresh your skin like a kiss from the golden sun on your cheeks. Suitable for all skin types and contains no chemicals or bleaching agents. We use Ayurveda’s finest ingredients such as Licorice Root Extract, Tamarind, Brahmi, Orange Fruit Extract, Bearberry Leaf Extract, Magnolia Extract, Mint Leaf Extract, Primrose Flower Extract, Lemon Balm Leaf Extract, Millefoil Flower Extract, Indian Sandalwood Oil, Indian Narcissus Oil and Indian Rose Oil.

I have to say this product looks and smells horrid. I would describe it as curry paste in both look and smell. I have to be honest I'm not sure I will use this as I really don't want to have this smell on my face. There are two jars of this which makes me feel a bit like these are a filler in this box. Kind of products to get rid of. I'm not sold on the idea of 'refresh your skin like a kiss from the golden sun on your cheeks'. I have not tried it so I can not say how it works though.

StudioMakeup Rich Hydration Lipstick

The Information:

Creamy, hydrating formula with a rich color payoff. Contains anti-aging and moisturizing ingredients.

I did not notice a name of the shade on this lipstick, but I think it is Shimmering Sands. I wasn't too sure about this shade before I swatched it. I thought it might make me look a little bit 80's or even corpse like. When I swatched it however it is actually quite a nice bronze, rose-gold shade that I think could be wearable.

Swatch Of StudioMakeup Rich Hydration Lipstick

This product has unusual packaging as the lid has a kind of pressure pop-up lid. It's very hard to explain, but it doesn't click shut so I wouldn't feel to confident leaving this in my handbag or make-up bag in case I ended up with lipstick everywhere. There is no scent to this lipstick.

So overall I am going to try most of these products although the shampoo and conditioner I may give to my Mum. The Vinies Luminous Skin Masks I may give a go, but I'm not looking forward to using them if I do. It's not my most favourite Boudoir Privé box, but there are some usable products.

Here is a link to the Boudoir Privé website if you want more information, Link :). Please note that Boudoir Privé is joining hands with JolieBox! JolieBox is the leading beauty box subscription service in France. This means that the boxes will now be an elegant and sophisticated black shoe-box style with the JolieBox logo emblazoned on the top. Boudoir Privé will now be known as JolieBox UK and so their Facebook and Twitter names will change and their website will undergo a new design. JolieBox UK will have a more ‘editorial focus’ and so overtime you can expect to see more content on their website, blog and Youtube channel - bringing you the latest beauty news, reviews and profiles on their brands. The first JolieBox will arrive mid-December. Please see the JolieBox website for more information, Link :)

What products did you receive in your November Boudoir Privé box? Were you happy with them? Will you be sticking with this box when it becomes JolieBox? Are you thinking of signing up if you haven't already?

Love to you all

November GlossyBox

Hi Beauties. Four weeks till Christmas and I have hardly done any Christmas shopping, EEK! I am never this behind, but oh well it will get done I guess. I am just clueless this year on what to buy certain people. Anyway, today's post is about showing you what I received in my November GlossyBox. The box is named 'The Christmas Gift-Guide: Part 1'. Part 2 will be the December GlossyBox. The idea is for you to try out products that you may want to put on your Christmas wish list or that you may want to buy as gifts for others. So here are my first thoughts.

Left To Right: Arbonne FC5 Ultra-Hydrating Hand Creme, Link :), Deadsea Spa Magik Bath Salts, Link :) & Etro Set Of 5 Fragrance Vials (Ambra, Etra Etro, Heliotrope, Musk & Vicolo Fiori), Link :)

Arbonne FC5 Ultra-Hydrating Hand Creme - £19.00 for 118 ml

The Information:

A soothing, lightweight creme that moisturises hands, leaving a healthy appearance and skin feeling smooth, supple and refreshed. Suits all skin types. Use as often as needed.

Key Ingredients:

Fresh kiwi cells; Moisture Fresh Complex of cucumber, birch leaf, watercress, clover blossom, St. John’s wort; rose geranium botanical plant, lemon verbena botanical plant, safflower oil, sunflower oil, vitamins A and E.

This has an okay scent to it. I will use it for sure as I use hand creams a lot now, but I don't have much more to say about it at the moment. There is blue pen on my tube which is nothing disastrous, but it's just not good presentation.

Deadsea Spa Magik Bath Salts - £5.35 for 1000g

The Information:

2011 Beauty Awards winner. Fantastic for alleviating dry or flaky skin conditions as well as a natural exfoliant. Deadsea Bath Salts remarkably improve skin texture. Helps to improve and soften the skin. Refreshes, relaxes, soothes and produces a feeling of well being. No additives. 100% Natural Sea Salts.

The Holland & Barrett link I have added is 15p cheaper than the link that GlossyBox gives, but every penny counts right? I was a little sceptical before trying this product. The reason is because I had already tried the Deadsea Spa Magik Salt Brushing sachets that I received in my September GlossyBox and when I exfoliated with them I found the chunky granules uncomfortable to use on my skin. Please see that review in my 'September Empties' post here. Also I am not a fan of gritty bath salts lying on the bottom of my bath. Anyway I gave the Deadsea Spa Magik Bath Salts a try on Friday by running them under my bath water. They dissolved into the water so no gritty layer to lie on and they actually made the bath water feel silky smooth. Not like an oil, but just a nice smooth layer to the water. I did not have that oily film on my skin when I got out of the bath. My only negative on these is that once you open the packet you have to put the salts into another container or like me wrap an elastic band around the pack and make sure not to knock it over.

Etro Set Of 5 Fragrance Vials (Ambra, Etra Etro, Heliotrope, Musk & Vicolo Fiori) - Please see the link above for various prices/sizes

The Information:

Introducing Etro's fashion. These five fragrances celebrate the most superior notes of the Etro fragrance lines.

Ambra

I could not see a link to Ambra on the House Of Fraser website? This fragrance is not bad. It has a slightly foreign feel to it.

Etra Etro

This captivating fragrance is spicy, rich and warm. It is softened by floral and vanilla undertones and notes of sandalwood, amber and musk which adds to it's sensuality. Floral/fruity scent.

I would say this has a slightly sweet scent.

Heliotrope

Heliotrope and Vanilla becomes a revitalising infusion mixed with Bitter Almond and spicy Coumarin. The effect of this is a jolt of energy and clarity to the senses that is both uplifting and revitalising. Floral/fruity scent.

This is sweet. To me it has a smell a bit like cake. I do like it.

Musk

A light yet very long lasting harmony made up of fresh, clean-smelling notes (Bergamot, Grapefruit) and more intense notes of Musk & Wood. The fragrance is mild but reveals a strong and immediately recognisable personality. Woody/musk scent.

This is a woody, earthy scent. It's quite nice.

Vicolo Fiori

The fragrance celebrates the delicate Blue Bell. The delicate flower is surrounded by the uplifting fruity note of mandarin and the warmth of Ylang-Ylang. The fragrance is light and up-lifting. Floral/fruity scent.

This is a nice scent. Sexy, yet subtle.

These fragrance are suitable for all skin types.

Left To Right: Nail Rock Designer Nail Wraps (Black & White Stripes), Link :) & Philip Kingsley Elasticizer, Link :)

Nail Rock Designer Nail Wraps (Black & White Stripes) - £6.65 Per Pack

The Information:

The new Nail Rock designer nail wraps range is designed to last up to 7 days on nails and 8 weeks on the toes. They won't chip or stain the nail, require no drying time and deliver on trend style in just 15 minutes.

I tried nail wraps a long time ago (not from Nail Rock), but they had to be applied by heating them with a hairdryer. I found it hard to get them to fit properly and they started peeling away the next day. I found them really irritating, but these do not need to be heated. You just trim them to size, stretch over the nails, wrap under the end of the nails and file away the excess. I hope I do like these wraps. I will try them, but I am not overly excited by this design. I think it looks a little 'Beetlejuice'. I would have preferred an animal print or spots.

Philip Kingsley Elasticizer - £14.00 for 75 ml/£52.50 for 500 ml

The Information:

Intensive, super-moisturizing pre shampoo treatment for all hair types. Adds elasticity, manageability, bounce and shine. Provides UV protection after washing, helping prolong the life of colour treatments. Visible results after one application that improves with continued use. Fragrance free.

Application:

Dampen hair and apply Philip Kingsley Elasticizer in sections. Work in with your fingertips. Rinse well. Follow with appropriate shampoo, conditioner and scalp toner.

- For Fine & Medium Textured hair apply sparingly through your mid lengths and ends
- For Coarse, Wavy, Curly or Frizzy hair use more generously through your hair’s length

When to Use on Unprocessed hair:

- For Fine & Medium Textured hair, use once or twice a month
- For Coarse, Wavy, Curly or Frizzy hair, use once a week When to Use on Processed hair
- For Fine & Medium Textured hair, use once a week
- For Coarse, Wavy, Curly or Frizzy hair, use twice a week

Do NOT use Elasticizer for THREE days before and THREE days after chemical processing!!

I think that there are shampoos and conditioners that already do the things that this product is meant to do so why do we need another product in our hair washing routine? I already received a smaller sample of this in my September Feelunique Beauty Box which I have not yet tried so I can not say if it is worth trying. Here is a link to that post, Link :)

Overall I am not blown away by this months box. The hand cream, bath salts and perfumes are nice, but there is not a stand out product for me this month. I am also gutted that I did not receive the Illamasqua Freak perfume :(

GlossyBox are also introducing a GlossyBox for men so if you are interested on more information on that please see the link here. The first box for men will be shipped in December. I am thinking of getting this for my boyfriend, but I don't get paid until next week so I have a few days to think about it. The first 100 subscribers to the men's box receive a special gift.

What products did you receive in your November GlossyBox? Were you happy with what you received? Will you be subscribing if you haven't already?

Love to you all
