POP ART GLOSSYBOX

Hi everyone. I received my Pop Art GlossyBox the other day and have not yet properly checked out the products so here are my first impressions :)

To start with I have to talk about the box itself. I love the bold pop art design. It will make a fab storage piece in my make-up collection. So now for the products:

There are 88 paint pots within the Ciate collection. It is recommended to apply two coats of this product. I love the long handle and pretty bow design of these bottles. This is a gorgeous purple shade that I am sure I will enjoy.

A 24hr moisturising mask to hydrate and soothe the skin. Instantly the product works to reduce discomfort or redness. Skin is left with a radiant and relaxed appearance. Suitable for all skin types.
Apply once or twice a week to the face and eye area for 10 mins. Massage the excess into the skin thereafter. Can be kept in the fridge for a refreshing effect.
Let's hope that this is as moisturising as it promises. With winter coming it could possibly be a saviour for parched skin like mine.
A 9-in-1 skin perfecting make-up product with a natural formula for a flawless matte look.
Apply in circular motions with fingers or a foundation brush.
I am sure I have tried a sample of this from a magazine, but I can't remember which shade. I know I didn't dislike the product, but I can't remember exact details so I will try out this mini shade and let you know my thoughts.
Encapsulating the feeling of falling in love.
Apply to the wrists and neck.
I like the simplistic bottle design. It's not too overdone and more of a classic. The scent is a little old school for me. It has rose which I am not a massive fan of. It just makes me feel older than I am.
A carbon-black mascara with hyaluronic spheres to achieve the darkest, curviest lashes possible.
Apply two coats sweeping upwards.
My mascara did have a seal, but there were a few black marks on it as well as a small chip. I am not sure if the black marks were from the print on the tube or another mascara? I do like the gold packaging and the cute bird design. A key point on a flutter mascara, although I think more of butterflies fluttering by. When I try this out I will review it for you.
A moisturising exfoliator to replenish and define the lips. Removing dead skin cells for perfectly soft lips.
Massage in circular motions for 1 minute. Remove with a damp cotton pad.
Only recently have I noticed a big change in the condition of my lips as they are extra dry and peeling. This has come at the right time so fingers crossed this works.
I think this month it's a good box. I am not a fan of the perfume as already stated and I do own similar nail shades to this one, but I can't fault GlossyBox for that.
As a side note I do miss the information card in the box. For product information you are now asked to view the GlossyBox website. A card for a sneak peek into next month's box and a competition has been included instead. Perhaps product information could be printed on the inside of the box?

GlossyBox Be Mine

Hi there gorgeous people. If you celebrated Valentines Day yesterday I hope you had fun. If you didn't what fabulous things did you get up to? We bought lots of needed items for our home during the day. In the evening I had a relaxing bath then enjoyed a Chinese takeaway and a drink or two with my fella while watching a movie. Perfect!

Anyway, on to today's post. This morning my GlossyBox arrived so I thought I would show you my products straight away.

Delicate light reflecting shimmer particles are suspended in this unique moisturising gel containing Mallow extract, Vitamin E and Wheatgerm Oil. Available in Tuberose & Jasmine, Fig & Pink Cedar, Cherry Blossom and Peony.

Shake before use. Apply to desired areas to add radiance and wash hands thoroughly after use.

I received the Cherry Blossom fragrance of this product. The top is sealed right now so I will let you know more about my thoughts on this when I come to use it.

High quality re-usable false lashes that come with a re-usable lash glue.

Trim to size, apply the glue to the lash band waiting for it to get tacky. Then press onto your natural lash line.

These look like very natural lashes with a very delicate band that will hopefully blend seamlessly in with my natural lashes.

Described as a soft yet striking nail shade that is a pink red.

Apply two coats followed by a top coat to seal the deal.

This is a lovely shade that really is a pink red. Great for days when you are on the fence between to two. This will be my next manicure for sure.

Calms frizz and creates silky, smooth touchable hair. Hair is cleansed and moisturised, leaving it shiny, easy to manage and tangle-free.

This ultra-rich conditioner calms frizz and creates silky, smooth, touchable hair.

A rich, leave in hair conditioner, 2-in-1 treatment and styling serum that protects hair from heat and locks moisture to leave hair beautifully soft and shiny.

Giovanni Eco Chic Cosmetics is the no.1 selling natural organic hair care brand in the US. These appear to be very nourishing products for both the hair and scalp with natural ingredients including Moroccan argan oils, avocado and papaya.

Creamy feeling, full coverage nude shades from this brand new collection.

The packaging reminds me instantly of the Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters. The lipstick smells sweet like toffee or caramel. The shade I would actually describe as toffee too. I think this is a very wearable neutral shade that will suit most skin tones, but for a Valentines box I think a more pink, red or purple toned lipstick would have been better suited. I really love the shades on the GlossyBox packaging so maybe something like one of those?

Also available at Tesco, Sainsburys and main convenience stores. This is Lindt's most famous chocolate, Lindor.

Well what can I say it's chocolate, yum!

In my opinion GlossyBox have upped their game this month. I am looking forward to indulging in all of these products.

NOTD: Ciate London Paint Pot Pocket Money (PP107)

Hi there cuties. I woke up early this morning so I thought why not sort through my emails and blog. I have a NOTD post for you today.

I applied one coat of my Rimmel Stronger Base Coat followed by two coats of this Ciate London Paint Pot Pocket Money (PP107) which I received in my July GlossyBox. This is described as a creamy fudge nude and I couldn't put it any better myself. Nudes can either look right or wrong I think on the nails as depending on your skin tone they can sometimes make you look like you have no nails at all. As this is a deeper nude and I am obviously very pale I think this looks like a nice stand out nude. Because it is a nude though it so wearable with anything. The long handle made it easy to apply. I have always liked the look of the Ciate bottles as they are so cute and feminine while still looking mature enough for all ages. I love the name of this shade. It makes me feel immature in a good way :) The product itself lasted really well on my nails. It only started to chip after about 5/6 days. This manicure was finished off with a coat of my Elegant Touch Nail Drying Spray.

You can pick up this product for £9.00 for 13.5ml here.

What are your favourite Ciate Paint Pots? Do you have any favourite nudes from any brand? Let me know in the comments below.

Rehydrating and calming for the skin. Suitable for all skin types. Hydrating facial mist.

Spritz onto the face after cleansing or even over make-up to refresh and set make-up.

I do like to use a face mist in the summer months and if it helps prolong how my make-up maintains then all the better. I tried this this morning though and I will be giving it to my friend as I don't like the smell. It smells like I am a lot older than I am.

Ciate London Paint Pot Pocket Money (PP107), £9.00 for 13.5ml

The ultimate in understated luxury, this creamy fudge nude is a sweet treat for fingers and the perfect girly indulgence. Break open your piggy bank and splash out on some me time.

  • The bottle ergonomically designed to sit comfortably in your hand for maximum control.
  • The formula is amazingly pigmented, long lasting and available in a range of finishes whilst formulated to be easy to apply.
  • And the satin bow Finishing touch which crowns each polish. Perfection.
Paint a second coat for a solid pigment finish.

I wasn't sure how this would look on my nails with it being a nude, but I have to say I have already tried this and I love it. A blog post will be coming up soon with how it looks! This bottle is adorable too.

So that's all of the products in this month's box. I think this is a lovely box, especially for this time of year. The box itself is bright and summery too.

NOTD/July GlossyBox

Hey lovelies. I know it's been a while, but I have been off from work with my boyfriend enjoying some quality time together. I hope you are all well? While I have been taking time out I have seen Transformers 3, which I loved and I went to Thorpe Park. Yes I did scream a lot, but I totally loved it.

So now on to the topic of this post. These are the items that I received in my July GlossyBox:

This is my first Ciate Nail Enamel. I love the cute bow on the bottle. This applied very nice and evenly on my nails, but I found the colour to be quite a dull orange. I would have preferred the lime green colour shown on the GlossyBox website as I have colours similar to all the others.

Here is the colour applied to my nails in Speed Dial (023)

Next I received this Illamasqua Pure Pigment in Involve:

I don't have a lot of experience of using pigments so this will be fun to experiment with, but I must admit that I don't think I will use this mauve shade that much. It is a real shame as I have a few Illamasqua blushers that I bought at London IMATS in January. I use them a lot and adore them, but I just don't think this is a product that I will benefit much from. I would have much preferred the Illamasqua Sheer Lipgloss in Explode if I'm honest. One thing that I must say about this pigment pot is that I found it so hard to open. I had to prise it open with my tweezers. I really think that this pot would benefit from a flip top lid.

Here is a swatch of Involve

I also got this LP Skin Therapy (Lip Rescue Gel). I actually do like this product. I really like the smell of the orange oil in it. It is said to improve the shape and contour of your lips. Now I don't know about that. I personally did not notice any change in that way, but there is a tingling effect that does not sting like some lip plumpers do. It does give you very glossy lips. I would say this is a product to use when you are not using lipstick as the gel is quite tacky. I found it too sticky to apply any lipsticks. I have had much smoother lips since using this, but I wonder if that is because I am not wearing lipstick as often?

This is what the applicator looks like

Another product I found in my GlossyBox is this Ultra Sun (Face 30). I really wish I had applied this when I went to Thorpe Park this week as I got sun burnt on my chest and neck. It's water resistant too so it would have been perfect for the water rides. Oh well too late now. This cream has a nice consistency.

Lastly I got this product. It is the Weleda Pomegranate Regenerating Body Oil.

I haven't tried this product yet. To be honest I'm not a massive fan of how body oils feel on the skin, but I will try it. I am a bit put off by the fact that it looks slightly medicinal also. I know oils are meant to be good for the skin so I will give it a go.

Out of the possible products that GlossyBox gave out in the July box these are the five I would have liked:

Ciate Nail Enamel (in the lime green colour), Illamasqua Sheer Lipgloss in Explode, LP Skin Therapy (Lip Rescue Gel), Orla Kiely Eau De Parfum and Xen-Tan (Deep Bronze Luxe). Even though I only received one of my chosen products I am still happy with what I received for £10.

What did you receive in your July GlossyBox? Did you like the products?
