BODY CARE PRODUCTS

Hi lovelies. How has your week been? I had work as usual, enjoyed pancakes on Tuesday, went to London on Friday which included a bit of Primark shopping (haul to come) and other chores which I won't bore you with.

I have a few body care products to share mini reviews of with you so here they are :)

These shower products were Xmas gifts as were the razors. I know you can get the shower products in the 99p Store.

Cussons Pure Creamy Shower Cream

This was a lovely cream shower product with a very softening feel and the clean scent of Aloe Vera. It really left a calming and pure scent on the skin.

Cussons Pure Zesty Lemon Burst Shower Gel

This was a nice fruity blend that I enjoyed using, but I didn't notice the scent linger on the skin after showering.

I forgot to keep the razors, but you can see them in the link above. For disposable razors these were actually not bad quality. The handles were sturdy and curved making them quite easy to use for a smooth shave. They are at a reduced price in the link above.

I have said it before and I will say it again I love Impulse body fragrances. They are great value as they last ages. They come in a massive variety of great scents and mist the perfect amount of product. The twist lock cap and their size are just ace if you wanted to pop them in your handbag too. This one is scented with Amber & Orange Blossom. It's really fresh and fruity. It is signed by the Loveable Rogues and was sent to me by the Impulse team. This is also reduced in the link above.

So that's my reviews folks. Let me know your current favourite body products in the comments below.

LOVE EDITION GLOSSYBOX

Hi there beauty lovers. Last night I picked up my Love Edition GlossyBox from the post office which includes a 'Fifty Shades' mineral eyeshadow and a few other make-up treats. Here are my first impressions :)

Designed with 5 blades and a water-activated moisturising serum bar to keep skin hydrated for up to 2 hours after shaving.

Razors are something that I don't usually spend too much money on, but I am going to test this out tonight to see how good it is at giving me a close shave that is hopefully smooth on the skin. I always moisturise after shaving so I see the moisture bar as part of the shaving process only.

A 100% natural highly pigmented mineral loose powder eyeshadow with a creamy texture.

Inspired by the film 'Fifty Shades Of Grey' which I am sure you are all fully aware of this Valentine's weekend Marsk have created this beautiful grey mineral pigment that looks to be very wearable.

I think it's great for day or night as applied with one layer it gives light smoke of grey with pretty light reflects. For more intensity, especially at night time I think it would look stunning applied with a wet brush.

I hardly ever use eye pigments simply because things can get messy very quickly and I am very clumsy. Not a good combo. This is why I wish brands would create more pigments that come in a tube with a sponge applicator or in a pressed pigment form for ease of use.

A nourishing, moisturising lip tint that Victoria Beckham is rumoured to be a fan of. Tinties come in 4 other shades including berry, kissed, nude and pink.

The scent of this lip tint is very sweet I think due to the trio of oils (argan, grape seed and almond). If you don't like the taste of almonds you won't like this. It's a bit like marzipan.

It does feel nourishing on the lips and you can tell it's oil based, but it doesn't feel greasy. The pigment is not as high as I had hoped, but it is just a tint so I would use this as a lip butter only not as a lip shade. I have never been a fan of dipping my fingers into pots, but it is a cute design.

A richly pigmented, hydrating lip & cheek pomade that delivers 12 hours of wear without dryness, creasing or smudging. 100% cruelty free. Fragrance free.

The size of this palette for travel is great because it is so compact however the casing does not click shut so it would have to be kept in the box. I wish that a mirror had been included in the top of the lid too.

The two berry shades on the left are quite pigmented and good for noticeable, but not too bold lips. The shades on the right are much more subtle and I would perhaps reserve for the cheeks.

Because of the packaging not being great quality and the fact that the product actually sits in the palette a bit uneven this makes it look a bit cheap.

A conditioning waterproof, smudge proof and tear proof mascara that lengthens, defines and volumises. Push lashes upwards waiting for the mascara to dry to set into shape. Suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

I love trying out new mascaras and although I usually get smudging under my eyes from applying mascara to my lower lashes I never think to pick up a waterproof one.

A mini pack of love hearts sweets were also included in this Love Edition GlossyBox.

I love the actual design of this month's GlossyBox, but I am not as excited as I first was when I opened it as I wanted the make-up pigments to be more bold. I may not use the make-up much if at all apart from the mascara due to how they need to be applied.

Shaved, Smoothed & Smelling Good

Hello sweet peas. It's almost the weekend so hoorah for that. Today I have 3 body skincare reviews for you so I will crack on.

I received this product in my Festive Treasures GlossyBox. I must admit that on my first use it felt very unnatural and a little scary to use a razor without any other shaving product. Once I got used to how firmly to press and work it around my body contours though I realised that I was actually pretty impressed with it. The moisturising area around the blades lathers up well once wet. The head is kind of springy, but once I became confident in using this product I knew how much pressure to apply. It is more chunky than other razors obviously so may not be great for travel, but this lasted quite a few uses. I am not sure where the indicator is to let you know when the blades need changing, but once the moisturising strip had worn away at the front I could tell that I couldn't use it any longer.

The moisture spray I have linked above looks different to my bottle so I am hoping that the product has not changed for this review. My bottle is 250ml whereas the bottle linked above is 50ml. I don't remember paying more than £5.00 for this product at the time, but it was quite a while ago. Anyway enough rambling. This moisture spray I would say is an essential for those who find body moisturising a real task. The scent is lovely and spa like. This bottle has lasted ages considering that myself and my boyfriend give each other back massages with it too. My only bad comment is to say I reserve this for when I am at home in my PJ's rather than getting dressed to go out. My reason for this is one day I went to work with fitted coloured trousers on and marks appeared around my knees where the product had seeped through. It is not by any means a greasy product, but it does take longer to sink in than other moisture products. My skin does feel very smooth and moisturised after use though.

I picked this up in the 99p Store however I have linked to Superdrug above as it's not on the 99p Store site and Superdrug currently have it for 99p anyway. I really enjoyed this subtle fruity scent with a blend of wild apple, honeysuckle and coconut. A 99p bargain that I would pick up again.

I hope you enjoyed today's reviews. Let me know your favourite skincare for the body with reasons why in the comments below.

Hair Removal

Hi there everyone. The sun is shining brightly which makes me feel cheerful, but the chill in the air when I popped out this morning, ouch! I have a couple of hair removal mini reviews for you today so here I go.

Guinot Epil Confort Corps ~ Currently £23.19 for 125ml

The product linked above has different packaging now, but I believe it to be the same. I picked this up many moons ago from what was at the time a local beauty salon I would go to for waxing. They convinced me that this product would reduce the inflammation and swelling from waxing more quickly and cause the hair to grow back thinner, lighter and more slowly. Less often to go for waxing meant less pain so I handed over £25.00 for this product and went on my way. It has a gel formula which is blue. A bit like some toothpastes. Unfortunately it made no difference to my hair growth at all. This is probably why I gave up using it and the waxing which leads me on to my next product.

Boots Smooth Care Disposable Twin Blade Razors 4 Pack ~ Currently £1.26

I have to say that these are the best disposable razors I have used. The heads do not swivel so are very sturdy and the case for the blades slides on and off sideways so you are not pushing back down onto the blade to click it back on. The handle is easy to hold and control and the shave is very close without being too sharp. There is a moisturising strip, but I always feel better applying shaving gel before shaving so this isn't really important to me. I would definitely pick these up again.

So that's it for today's reviews. Do you have any favourite hair removal products that you would like to share? If yes, please let me know what they are and why you like them in the comments below. They can be for use on any areas of the body.

Festive Treasures GlossyBox & NOTD

Hi there sweeties. Xmas is just over a week away and I still have so much to do, but one thing that always relieves any stress is the arrival of my GlossyBox :) This months box is a fab one so let me show you the products.

Loving the Xmas theme!

A natural mineral formula free from harsh chemicals and rich in jojoba oil. Non sticky, long lasting and tastes great. Cruelty free and BUAV approved. Suitable for vegetarians.

My thoughts:

This is obviously a very natural lip gloss. It doesn't feel sticky at all. It's texture feels quite creamy and nourishing actually. I am not sure how long it will last on the lips as I have only just applied it. I wouldn't say it tastes good or bad. I think this shade is so neutral that it will suit all skin tones and could be worn over any lipstick due to it's milky, nude glossy shade.

A cream gel formula that is fade and crease resistant. Long lasting vibrant and shimmery shades.

My thoughts:

I have always wanted to try one of these Maybelline Color Tattoos, but for some reason never actually picked one up. This shade looks fantastic and I can't wait to try it out. I think it will look superb when paired with the lip gloss above too. Now that this swatch has dried on my hand I have to say that this shadow is pretty resistant to budging. I had to really rub it with my finger to see the tiniest specs flake from it, but lets face it who is going to rub over their eyes so harshly. I will store this upside down to stop it drying out as quickly. A good tip for cream and gel eye formulas!

A 3 in 1 razor that lathers, moisturises and shaves. 100% natural aloe and enriched vitamin E to moisturise. The packaging is natural too. Pivoting head design to smooth around body contours. Indicator lets you know when to replace blades. Fragrance free.

Wet the conditioning solid to activate. Keep skin and razor wet as you shave and press gently.

My thoughts:

I find the thought of shaving without applying a gel or cream first a little weird, but I am happy to try this as it saves the need for another product.

One coat coverage with a satin smooth finish that dries quickly.

Apply a base coat, apply one or two coats of the Seche Nail Lacquer and a top coat.

My thoughts:

Here I have applied a base coat, two coats of the Seche Nail Lacquer, my E.L.F. nail polish in Twinkle and my nail drying spray. Here is a link to this Seche shade on the Seche website so that you can see the colour better. I applied this on Saturday and it lasted until Monday when I did 4 hours of housework. It probably would have lasted better with the Seche Dry Fast Top Coat, but cleaning the house always chips my nails no matter what I use.

This full size Eau de toilette comes in a heart shaped, black jewelled bottle.

The scent combines fruity honey and sweet top notes, the heart notes complement with Orchid, Jasmine and Peony and the base notes are deep with Amarylis and black incense.

My thoughts:

This is my first Lipsy fragrance. I do like the bottle design, but I do not have a bottle to show you so you will have to look in the link above. It looks so much like the design of the Diesel Loverdose Tattoo fragrance. I am not sure who brought theirs out first though. Although both fragrances contain jasmine the other ingredients seem to be different. I do like this scent. It's a little deeper than other Edt I have tried which I like as I prefer a stronger scent. I can smell the fruity honey, but it does have a sensual, deep base.

So far I have been very impressed by this box. For more information on GlossyBox UK check this link and for the US GlossyBox see this link.

Which products did you receive in your GlossyBox this month and are you happy with them? Let me know in the comments below.

Shaved

Hi All and how are we? Today I wanted to talk to you about two rather basic products that are a necessary part of body care life and they are for shaving.

Left: Morrisons Sensitive Aloe Vera Shave Gel, £1.10 for 200ml

This shave gel works really well for shaving and is a very good price. The fact that I can pick it up on my weekly shop is a bonus too. I would buy this again if I needed one at the last minute, but the scent puts me off a little as to me it smells a bit masculine. When I am shaving my legs I want to feel womanly and sexy not masculine in any way.

Superdrug 5 Pack Twin Blade Disposable Ladies Razors With A Lubricating Strip, £1.29

I find these razors really annoying and I will not repurchase them so let me tell you why. They are a bit too sharp and I have nicked myself with them more than I would like. The bit that annoys me most about them though is that the heads on them tend to come off while shaving. This is not good when trying to fish around in the bath for a blade with half shaved legs. Obviously putting the blade back on is not fun with wet hands either. When I tried to put the blade back on one it broke too.

I hope that this has helped some of you by reviewing these two products. Please let me know in the comments below if you enjoy these basic type of reviews as I do try and review everything for you.

Bathroom Bodycare

Hi Everyone. Are you feeling happy today? I hope you are. I have a few products to tell you about that I have been using in the bathroom so here we go :)

Left: Morrisons Shave Gel, 200ml

For those of you that are new to my blog I usually do my weekly shop in Morrisons and sometimes pick up beauty products along the way. They have great everyday basics and this is my latest product of the bunch I have tried. This is suitable for sensitive skin and dermatologically tested. The product itself is a green gel that lathers into a nice creamy texture perfect to prep the skin for shaving. I think this was about £1.00 so it's great value. The only thing is try not to push down too much on the dispenser as too much product comes out and gets wasted. Other than that it's great and one that I already have repurchased. It contains aloe and has a subtle, clean scent.

Centre: Superdrug Essentials 10 Disposable Twin Blade Razors (One Shown Only), 99p

These have a fixed head and a lubricant strip which I hadn't noticed until writing this review if I'm honest. These are absolutely brilliant and fantastic value. They give a great close shave, but they are sharp and I have nicked myself a couple of times from not being careful so that's my fault. I have already repurchased these and will do so again.

Right: Simple Kind To Skin Invigorating Shower Gel, £2.09 for 250ml

I received this product as a Xmas gift. There is no perfume or colour in this product. The Simple products I have previously used are as the name suggests simple. They never seem to have much of an odour or harsh feeling so are probably used most by sensitive skins. I like the smell of the mint in this, but when I actually used it I didn't notice the mint fragrance much in the shower. When using the end of the product it was pretty hard to get it all out and I do hate product waste so perhaps the packaging is something they could look into.

So that's my reviews for today. What are your favourite shaving products? Do you like Morrisons basics? Do you have any Simple product favourites? Let me know in the comments below.

August 2012 Empties

Hi Everyone. This week has gone really quick. I find it really hard to remember what day I'm in at the moment. Today I want to show you the products I have used up in August and my thoughts on them.

Left To Right:

Me To You 80 Handy Wipes Orange Scented, £1.00 From Poundland

Previously reviewed here.

Johnson's Baby Cotton Pads, 99p From 99p Stores

Previously reviewed here.

Beauty Formulas Deep Action Pore Cleanser, 99p From 99p Stores

This product is said to be suitable for all skin types. It's a cream cleanser that you simply squeeze onto cotton wool and wipe over the face morning and night. This was nice enough to use. It had a light blue colour to it which I think is quite unusual as most creams are white or cream in shade. This had a very gentle scent.

L'Occitane Angelica Hydration Cream, 99p From Ebay Plus Delivery

I received this product in my June 2012 JolieBox. This was a nice face cream to use. It felt very fresh and smooth on the skin.

Left To Right:

Aquafresh Extreme Clean Intense Rush Toothpaste, 48p through mysupermarket.co.uk

My fella brought this with him when we moved in together so we both used this. It is nice and minty as most toothpastes are. I'm not much of a fan of screw tops on toothpastes. I'm more of a flip top kind of girl.

2 x 100 Johnson's Cotton Buds, 41p for 200 buds from amazon.co.uk

Poundland used to sell these in packs of 200 buds for £1.00, but this is no longer the case :( I have found them much cheaper in the link above though :) Previously reviewed here.

Balea Shave Gel With Olive Oil For Dry Skin, 99p from 99p Stores

I received this from my Mum for Xmas. I know where it's from as I used to buy it for myself. This has a mousse type of formula, but it is a bit more smooth like a gel too. It works well for the price. There is not much of a scent to it.

I received these for Xmas from my fella's Mum. Previously reviewed here.

Gillette Razor, Price Unknown

I'm sorry I can't tell you the price of this product as I just picked it up on a trip to Morrison's recently and I can't find the receipt. It came in a pack of about 4 I think. I like the grip of this handle. It's made of plastic and rubber. These are not too sharp so I don't nick myself as easily as I would with the Bic razors, but it still does a good job.

Left To Right:

Boots Soltan Moisturising Aftersun Lotion, £4.25 in a pack with the suncare lotion SPF15 from ebay.co.uk

I think that fella of mine nicked this from his Mum when we moved. The second time I got badly burnt this year was in my garden after applying sun lotion throughout the day. I'm a sensitive soul don't ya know :( I was not amused and in need of some cooling relief. This lotion did feel very cooling. I think the packaging of this product has changed now or it may be a different product entirely as Boots is showing 'hydrating' creams in this range as opposed to this 'moisturising' one?

Boots Mango & Orange Blossom Shower Gel, £1.29 from Boots

Previously reviewed here.

Sanctuary Spa Covent Garden Foaming Cream Scrub, £3.99 plus delivery from ebay.co.uk

My fella bought me this a couple of Xmas' back as part of a gift set. This was a nice scrub that had a sheen to it, although it did not look shiny on my skin after use. I do like the scent and the size of the scrub particles. I did become sensitive to the body lotion from this range at Sanctuary which is why I put off using this, but this product did not cause a reaction on my skin at all.

Superdrug Essential Anti-Perspirant Deodorant, Was approx 69p, but I believe no longer available

Previously reviewed here.

Left To Right:

Caudalie Eaux Fraiches (Zeste De Vigne), £26.00 from uk.caudalie.com

I received this in my June 2012 GlossyBox. My thoughts are the same as my initial impressions in that post. Two friends at work said they liked this fragrance.

I think this is known as the Original fragrance from Juicy Couture. I have had this bottle for a few years now and believe me I have savoured every last drop. My fella bought me this in a gift set one Xmas that came with the body lotion and shower gel. I adore this fragrance. If I had to pick one scent for the rest of my life this would be it. I have had so may compliments when I wear this. Even from strangers. I used to save this mostly for going on evenings out as I didn't want to use it all up to easily. I would say that if you are looking to feel sexy, sultry and put together this is the scent for you. This is not child-like at all. I have tried and enjoyed many scents over the years, but this one never fails to make me feel like a sex kitten. I would be happy to receive this as a gift again this Xmas or even for my birthday in January, MASSIVE HINTS THROWN AT FELLA HERE ;) I will enjoy the necklace that is wound around the top of the bottle as a keepsake if nothing else.

JolieBox Nail File, Free with my June 2012 JolieBox

Who couldn't love a pink nail file. I have used this quite a bit, but it has worn out and is starting to bend near the middle so it's time to let it go.

Barry M Nail Paint in the shade 279 - Bright Pink, £2.66 with free delivery

NOTD post and review here.

Primark Ta Ta For Now Magic Undereye Concealer (Light), Unsure if still available?

Previously reviewed here.

Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Ultimate 16 Hour Wear Concealer (Light 2), £3.99 from Boots

'Collection 2000' is now known just as 'Collection' for reference. This is a really good concealer and for the price I would pick up again. It has a doe foot applicator. This tube has lasted me absolutely ages. I am very, very pale, but I got the shade Light 2 as the lighter shade was even a bit to light for me so if you are pale be sure to check out the testers first. This concealer covers blemishes well. I have a few red veins that need a little more coverage really, but for the average spot and/or bit of reddening this works really well. It goes on easily. I tap it in with my finger and it blends in with my foundation no problem. I use this under my eyes too and it does not crease. I does not go patchy or dry on my dry skin either. I could not tell you if this lasts 16 hours as I don't usually wear my make-up for more than about 12 hours when I'm at work, but it does a pretty good job for that long. The only bad thing about this product is the writing on the packaging. As you can see it has all rubbed off.

E.L.F. Waterproof Eyeliner Pen (Black), £1.50 from eyeslipsface.co.uk, $1.00 from eyeslipsface.com

Usually I am a massive fan of buying products from E.L.F., but this one I was not impressed with. I have tried this quite a few times as I don't like to give up on products easily, but compared to other eyeliner pens this one just doesn't do the job. The nib does not stay solid and precise to get that smooth, clean line, but more than that it's just not really black how I want it to be. It's like a faded black. The coverage is not that great as it skips over the skin on the eyelid. When I go back over the line to fill in the gaps it then takes a bit of the product off that I have already applied. I have heard some people rave about this pen and some that have similar woes to mine so it might be a bit of a hit and miss product? I'm glad I tried it, but it's not for me.

So that's all my empty products from the last month. I hope you found these wee reviews helpful.

Love to you all
