Nails, Face, Eyes & Lashes

Hi my loves it's lovely to have you here at Beautiful Addictions. I have four product reviews for you today so I will get cracking.

I have had this base coat for absolutely ages and although there is still some left in the bottom it's a little hard to get out. This looks like a baby pink shade, but it comes across clear on my nails. I have nothing bad to say about this base coat other than the brush could be a little longer to get all of the product from the bottom of the bottle easier. I always use base coat with polish, but my nails are still yellow stained so if you have any stain removal, prevention and/or whitening tips please let me know :)

I received this product in my May 2012 JolieBox. This is a very light make-up base suitable for all skin types. The formula is quite runny and feels like a refreshing moisturiser to apply. I haven't noticed a difference to the length of how long my make-up lasts to be honest.

Eyeko Graffiti Eyeliner Pen Jet Black

I have loved this pen liner from Eyeko for years now. I would certainly recommend this for ease of control when creating a feline flick on the eyes. These used to retail at £5.50 each, but now the Eyeko eyeliner pens appear to be called Skinny Liquid Eyeliner. I think the shade range is the same of Black, Purple, Brown & Blue. These retail at £10.00 each. I remember asking Eyeko on Twitter when these were free with a magazine if there was a difference between the Graffiti Eyeliner Pen and the Skinny Liquid Eyeliner. They said that the formula was improved. I wish I had picked one up now. For the Skinny Liquid Eyeliner click here or if you want to try the Graffiti Eyeliner Pen try Ebay or Amazon.

I received this in my April 2012 JolieBox. This was a really deep black pigment. This made my lashes look thicker and longer, but not as long as other mascaras have. The writing on the packaging has almost all rubbed off as you can see which is annoying if you wan to repurchase products.

So that's it for these four product reviews. Let me know your favourite nail base coat, face primer, eyeliner pen and mascara in the comments below with your reasons why.

Love to you all

Hand Care

Hi there cherubs. Today I have a wee post about caring for your hands. We use them a lot for many things every day so we should take care of them. I used to think my Mum was weird when I was younger because she always seemed to be applying hand cream, but now I realise why.

Left: Yes! Nurse Protect Your Lovely Hands Intensive Moisturising Hand Formula, From £4.99

Apply a pea-sized amount to clean, dry hands regularly before and after a shift. Massage well into the skin.

As you can tell this is aimed at hard workers. I received this product in my April 2012 GlossyBox where you can find all of the information provided about this product. This tube has a flip top lid that is easy to open and close, yet secure. This was a nice hand cream to use. It has a creamy, not greasy formulation. I would say this hand cream would work well for the average consumer as well as those in jobs that require the particular need for hygiene ie. lots of hand washing. You can buy this on subscription or as a one off payment shown in the link above.

Right: Lavera Basis Sensitive Organic Hand Cream, £1.00 for 20ml

Lavera Basis Sensitive Organic Hand Cream with organic shea butter and organic almond protects and moisturises your hands. It absorbs into your skin leaving no oily residue and is suitable for the whole family.

I received this product in my February 2012 JoileBox. I really do like the almond scent in this cream. It felt very smooth to apply, almost like silk. I know this is the sample size as shown in the link above for £1.00, but I don't really like lids you have to unscrew on hand creams as they have a tendency to jump away from me when I try to put them back on, ha ha. You can buy the 75ml version of this online for £4.45 from many websites and I believe that comes with a flip top tube. Just copy and paste the product name from this page into your search engine and you will see many sites pop up.

So which products and/or treatments do you use to take care of your hands? Scrubs, creams, massages, nail treatments? Let me know in the comments below.

Facial Skincare: Balance Me And Soap & Glory

Hello lovelies. I hope you are doing great as always. Today I wanted to do a mini review of two facial skincare products I have tried out recently.

Left: balance Me. daily essentials cleanse and smooth face balm, £4.00 for 15ml or £20.00 for 125ml

I received this product in my April JolieBox last year where you can see my first impressions. This product is aimed at normal to dry/sensitive skins. I have used this with and without a muslin cloth in the shower. I do love the scent of it. It's very natural and soothing. There are fine granules of oatmeal in it, so nothing harsh at all. This is a 100% natural oil-based cleansing balm. It feels nice to apply and I think sensitive skins may appreciate this because it feels comfortable on the skin. I would however say that it comes out average in the cleansing balms I have tried out so far. It has lasted for many uses though.

Right: Soap & Glory Make Yourself Youthful Rejuvenating Face Serum, £16.00 for 46ml or $28.99

I am a fan already of Soap & Glory products so I thought why not give this serum a try. This product is an Anti-Ageing Beauty Bible Award Winner. It is said to help re-energise tired skin, smooth surface imperfections, refine pores, recalibrate uneven skin tone, brighten, tone and tighten, while acting as a light-medium nightly moisturiser.

I like the pump design of this product as just enough serum is dispensed out and the packaging itself I find very appealing as it looks youthful like the product portrays itself to be. This bottle has lasted ages and I do like how it feels on my skin, but then I like the texture of pretty much all serums. It's creamy and smooth and feels light. It does give my skin a nice glow, but once my make-up is applied that gets covered up so I only really get the benefit of that when I am at home with no make-up on. Because of it's brightening effect it does make me feel glowy and rejuvenated, if not a little more youthful. It does feel smooth on my skin however I wouldn't say it smooths over imperfections. My skin tone and pores do not look dramatically different and I don't feel any toning or tightening effect. Again I think this is a nice product as in it's an average out of the face serums I have tested.

What are your favourite facial skincare products? Any from balance Me. or Soap & Glory? Let me know in the comments below.

Love to you all

Mixed Product Reviews #4

Hey there my special Beauty Addicts. I hope you are all doing well and don't have the January blues or anything. I have a post for you today including lots of mixed product reviews so I will get straight into it.

Left To Right:

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil, From £4.50 or $26.42 on amazon.com

I received this product in my August 2012 GlossyBox. Initially I wasn't sure if I liked the idea of a facial oil, but I have to say I really like this product. As advised I massaged this into my face and neck with dry hands and then washed it off in the shower. It did not make my skin feel greasy at all. Just clean and smooth on the surface. My skin is dry though so I am not sure how oily skins would find this works for them. I would totally recommend this product as top cleanser.

Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant, £29.48 for 75g

I received this in my November 2012 GlossyBox. I had heard so many people raving about this product that I hoped I wouldn't be disappointed with it and I certainly wasn't. I love this product. The rice bran granules are so fine that they do not irritate my skin which usually becomes sensitive if I exfoliate my face more than twice a week. Being that this is a daily facial exfoliant I was a bit concerned, but I wanted to see how it worked so I used it every day after using the cleansing oil shown above. I shook the product into my hand and with a little water made a fine granulated paste which I massaged all over my face and neck in circular motions. This product I would certinly recommend to determine deeply cleansed and smooth skin. The combination of the cleanisng oil and this daily exfoliant made my skin squeaky clean literally every day.

Superdrug Naturally Radiant Brightening Day Cream Normal To Dry Skin, Currently £2.99 for 75ml

I needed a face moisturiser and wanted to try something new. As Superdrug have some great products in their Essentials range I thought I would give this a try. This product has lasted me such a long time and for the price of currently £2.99 I would certainly recommend giving it a go. It feels so smooth on the skin and lovely to apply. A little goes a long way with this product and it has SPF 15. It is suitable for vegetarians and vegans. This product also comes in a pot for Normal To Combination Skin. There is a night cream and other products in this range which I will look into picking up.

Elizabeth's Daughter The Purifying Mask, £18.99 for 100ml

I was given this sample for free at the Vitality Boutique, Bluewater in September 2012. This is a lightly muddy looking mask. I don't really have much to say about this product as I didn't really feel any benefit from using it. It is recommended to use once or twice a week and I only had one use out of this so if anyone has used it regularly and can give more information please leave your comments below.

Left To Right:

Colgate Sensitive Pro-Relief Fluoride Toothpaste, Various prices

I was also given this sample at the above mentioned event. Every once in a while my teeth can become sensitive, but because they were not particularly sensitve when I was using this product I can't really say if it works for that reason. If you have sensitive teeth and have tried this please leave your thoughts below. If you Google this there are many links to various prices.

Jane Iredale Just Kissed Lip & Cheek Stain Forever Pink, £16.50 or $28.35

I received this product in my February 2012 JolieBox. I didn't try this on my cheeks as I don't think I would like the feel of it there. As it is meant to change colour I didn't really want to use it there either. It was a nice tinted balm to use on my lips, but I accidently squished it in the lid when I forgot to screw it down so I used it up by scooping it out with a cotton bud, whoops :)

E.L.F. Studio Translucent Matifying Powder, £3.75 or $3.00

This product I have reviewed in my previous post here.

Left To Right:

Possibility Raspberry Pavlova Ultra Rich Shower Gel, Shampoo & Bubble Bath

I picked this up last year in Savers when they had it on a deal for £1.00. This product smells sweet like berry pastel sweets. That's the only way I can describe it. This is the last of the four from this range that I picked up.

Here is the recipe if you want to give it a go. They had this on the New Look website for £1.00, but it is now out of stock so I'm not sure if you can still pick up this product, sorry.

Molton Brown Warming Eucalyptus Bath & Shower Therapy, Various Places to buy for approx £18 or $30

I was given this sample when I picked up some products in store for my Mum while Xmas shopping. I was given this sample by the assistant that served me as she said it would relax me. I must have looked stressed while Xmas shopping or something, ha ha. I only used this in the shower, but this does have a gorgeously soothing and relaxing aroma. I could imagine it any spa. I have never bought anything from Molton Brown for myself or been given it as a present, but I would like to try some as they do really nice products. They do this Travel Size Bath & Shower Gel Set which I think would be good for trying out their scents.

Morrisons Shower Creme Orchid White

I don't remember the exact price of this I'm afraid, but I'm sure it was less than £1.00 for 400ml of product. The smell is that baby type smell. Very pure. I would pick this up again.

Left To Right:

Anatomicals Don't Just Clean It Woman, Scrub It Body Scrub, £2.99

I received this product in my October 2012 GlossyBox. I still find this product name funny to read. This was an okay body exfoliator. The scent is fruity and uplfiting.

Ted Baker Bodywear Gentle Body Scrub, Various Prices

This I believe I received in a gift set Xmas 2011. Again this was an okay body scrub. The scent is a lot more subtle. I would suggest searching on Google for this one.

Superdrug Body & Hand Lotion, Currently £1.39 for 375ml

There were 3 or 4 scents of this product when I picked this up. It is not named by scent so I will just say the red one. This has a very creamy and soft scent. The cream itself feels gorgeous. I would defintely pick this product up again. Such great value as it lasts ages.

That's all the products I have used up lately folks. I will keep trying out more and let you know how I get on with them. Which proudcts have you been loving and loathing? Let me know in the comments below.

Love to you all

Mixed Product Reviews #1

Hi Lovelies. I have been having a little think and rather than showing you all of my 'Empties' I am just going to show you the products that I haven't reviewed before otherwise I feel like I am boring you by showing you the same products again and again. So here are my reviews :)

Left To Right:

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser, Various prices in link

This product I received as part of a gift set from my boyfriend. It came with a muslin cloth that I intend to keep and re-use. The muslin cloth is washable. I have the pump bottle, but you can buy this in a tube form. The way to use this product is to massage one or two pumps over the face and neck. Then warm the muslin cloth in warm water, squeeze the excess water out and gently wipe over the face and neck. Repeat as necessary and follow with your usual skincare routine. This is said to 'swiftly remove all traces of face and eye make up, even stubborn mascara'. Now I would say this pretty much does that for me, but for some reason mascara is something really hard for me to remove no matter what I use. I do enjoy this product though and would certainly recommend it. The cream itself combined with the muslin cloth smooth over the skin nicely. When I first used this I was a bit scared as I thought the cloth might be too abrasive for my skin, but I use it every day which is something I would never do with the usual facial exfoliators as my skin just can't take it. My skin does feel very refreshed and clean using this product so if you are on the lookout for a great cleanser/make-up remover check this out.

Rodial Glamoxy Snake Serum, £127.00 for 25ml

I received this product in my September GlossyBox. This felt like a nice serum to use, but I did not notice the 'freeze-like effect' that this product claims. I really didn't want to look like I had had a surgical procedure so I was quite relieved, but I think this product does not justify the price at all.

Yon-Ka Pamplemousse Protective and Vitalizing Cream Normal to Oily Skin, $38.75 for 1.7oz

I received this product in my June JolieBox. This is meant for normal to oily skin whereas mine is dry, but it did work fine. It has quite a zesty scent to it.

Pure Revitalising Daily Moisturiser, £1.00 for 200ml

I have used this for a while. It's cheap and cheerful and does a good enough job for £1.00. I have used this as a body moisturiser also when I ran out. It has a nice creamy scent.

Left To Right:

Sure Women Long Lasting Protection Clear Aqua Crystal 48 Hour Active Anti-Perspirant,
£1.29 for 150ml

I bought this at my local Tesco garage when I ran out of anti-perspirant, but it's actually quite nice. I would have preferred the can to have more feminine colours, but the scent of this product is feminine. I can not comment on the 48 Hour claim as I wash before 48 hours is up, ha ha.

Pink Disposable Razor, 99p for loads at 99p Stores

I bought this razor as part of a pack of about 30 which I thought for 99p I should give a try. Let me tell you that this was just awful. I am always up for a bargain, but this thing was beyond useless. I went over and over and over my legs with this thing. I felt like I was wasting my time and I pretty much was. This barely removed any hairs. It's pink, but that's all I like about it.

Blue Disposable Razor, Price unknown

I picked these up almost straight after trying the pink razor above. I got this blue razor as part of a pack of about 4-6 razors from the Co-Op. I think these were about £7.00 for the pack. There were no razors that looked like women's in there so I think this is meant for a man, but it actually works really well. The head pivots slightly to manoeuvre around the contours of your body easily. Are men's razors better perhaps?

Macleans Ice Whitening Gel Toothpaste, £2.13 for 100ml

This was a refreshing toothpaste, but I didn't notice the whitening effects and I hate screw tops.

Hello Kitty Bubble Gum Mouthwash, 90p for 237ml

I love this product. My Mum bought this for me and I just love using it. It does taste like bubble gum, it's pink, it's Hello Kitty, it makes me feel like a child. WIN, WIN, WIN :) I picked up another bottle yesterday. This is sugar and alcohol free.

Left To Right:

Soap & Glory Clean On Me Creamy Moisture Shower Gel,
£5.50 for 500ml

In the link above it's shown as a clarifying rather than moisture shower gel. It looks like the same product, but please let me know if you know different. I received this as part of a gift set for Xmas. I really like pump design. It's especially handy in the shower. It has that classic soap and glory creamy scent. You can find this in various links on Ebay in travel sizes too.

Roger & Gallet Fleur d'Osmanthus Foaming Shower Honey, £9.99 for 250ml

This was given to me for free when I attended the Roger & Gallet Blogger Evening. This is a very fresh and comforting scent. It feels lovely on the skin. I did get through this really quickly though, but I do apply wash products quite liberally.

Roger & Gallet Bois D'Orange Refreshing Fragrant Bath & Shower Gel, $23.00 for 8.4oz or £10.80 for 250ml

This was given to me for free at the same event mentioned above. This is really nice and citrusy. It feels nice on the skin, but again I seemed to get through it very quickly. I tried this in both the shower and bath.

Champneys Moisture Miracle Skin Comforting Bath Milk, £8.00 for 300ml

The bottle looks different in the link above, but I believe it to be the same product. This was given to me by a friend. This has that really baby soft, creamy feel and scent to it. Just lovely.

Left To Right:

Guess Seductive Body Cream, £14.30 for 200ml or £20.80 with a 30ml EDT

I bought this for myself ages ago along with the EDT that I am still using. I purchased my gift set from asos in the January sales. I love this scent. It's sexy and seductive without being in your face. It was a nice cream too.

Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter Body Lotion, £10.00 for 500ml or 16.2oz or $20.00

This I received as part of the same gift set that the shower gel mentioned above was in last Xmas. I have used the body butter version of this and they both have that adorable, classic Soap & Glory scent. I prefer the lotion as it I find it much nicer to use this pump design rather than digging my finger nails into a tub of product. The only bad thing is when it neared the end I had to use the pump to scoop it out as the pump wasn't picking up the product.

Pure Fiji Exotic Bath and Body Oil, £24.50 for 236ml or $19.95

I received this product in my April JolieBox. I'm not a massive fan of oils on the body usually, but I do love a good back massage and so I would get my fella to use this on me for that purpose (minds out of the gutter people)! I adore the scent of this and I think my fella does too. It is a holiday in a bottle.

Roger & Gallet Bois D'Orange Moisturizing Refreshing Fragrant Body Lotion, £11.50 for 200ml or $24.90

I received this product for free at the Roger & Gallet Blogger Evening. This was a lovely cream to use and has the same scent as the Bath & Shower Gel mentioned above. I can't believe how quickly I used up these Roger & Gallet products.

Left To Right:

Morrisons Approx 200 Cotton Buds, Price unknown

I'm sorry I can't remember how much these were, but they were really cheap. I'm always a bit wary of using cheap cotton buds in my ears in case the bud comes off. It has happened to me once and it freaked me out. These however were fine for that purpose and for make-up touch ups.

Primark Beauty Nail Polish Remover Wipes (25 Pads), £1.00 for 3 tubs I think?

I received these for Xmas and I think they came in a pack of three tubs. They do a pretty good job of removing the average nail polish, but they don't do so well with glitter. I'm not much of a fan of how oily they are. The pads are quite thin though and easy to fold which is good for cleaning up the edges after painting on my manicure.

Barry M Nail Paint 244 Holograms, £2.75 for 10ml

I have had this nail paint for a long, long time and alas I went to use it the other day and it's all dried up :( I love the multi-coloured hexograms in this product. They are perfect to add sparkle to any nail colour.

So that's the lot. I hope you prefer me showing you only products you haven't seen on my blog before in my monthly reviews. As you can see there are still plenty of products to show you.

What have you loved and loathed of late? Let me know in the comments below.

Love to you all

NOTD: China Glaze Hook And Line

Hello Cherubs. Are you having a good weekend so far? I do hope so. I have just painted my nails and thought you might like to see the shade.

I applied one coat of my Alessandro Pro White as a base coat, followed by two coats of this China Glaze Nail Lacquer in Hook And Line from the Capitol Colours The Hunger Games Collection. I received this in my May 2012 JolieBox. I could have got away with just one thick coat of this nail lacquer, but I forgot to cover my nail tips so I went over it with another coat. The finish is even and smooth. This shade did not impress me when I first saw it in my JolieBox, but on applying it today I do quite like it. It's not a really fun colour, but it does hold it's own. In my initial thoughts in the link above I describe this as grey putty, but today I see it as glossy cement. It looks like a khaki grey in the photo and looking at it now it does have a green tinge to it, but it's definitely more grey. If you like classic, easy to wear neutral shades you will like this one. I sealed the look with a spray of my Elegant Touch Rapid Dry Nail Spray.

I found this Nail Lacquer on sallyexpress.com for just £1.65.

Have you got any China Glaze favourites? Is this the kind of shade you would wear? Let me know in the comments below.

Love to you all

August 2012 Empties

Hi Everyone. This week has gone really quick. I find it really hard to remember what day I'm in at the moment. Today I want to show you the products I have used up in August and my thoughts on them.

Left To Right:

Me To You 80 Handy Wipes Orange Scented, £1.00 From Poundland

Previously reviewed here.

Johnson's Baby Cotton Pads, 99p From 99p Stores

Previously reviewed here.

Beauty Formulas Deep Action Pore Cleanser, 99p From 99p Stores

This product is said to be suitable for all skin types. It's a cream cleanser that you simply squeeze onto cotton wool and wipe over the face morning and night. This was nice enough to use. It had a light blue colour to it which I think is quite unusual as most creams are white or cream in shade. This had a very gentle scent.

L'Occitane Angelica Hydration Cream, 99p From Ebay Plus Delivery

I received this product in my June 2012 JolieBox. This was a nice face cream to use. It felt very fresh and smooth on the skin.

Left To Right:

Aquafresh Extreme Clean Intense Rush Toothpaste, 48p through mysupermarket.co.uk

My fella brought this with him when we moved in together so we both used this. It is nice and minty as most toothpastes are. I'm not much of a fan of screw tops on toothpastes. I'm more of a flip top kind of girl.

2 x 100 Johnson's Cotton Buds, 41p for 200 buds from amazon.co.uk

Poundland used to sell these in packs of 200 buds for £1.00, but this is no longer the case :( I have found them much cheaper in the link above though :) Previously reviewed here.

Balea Shave Gel With Olive Oil For Dry Skin, 99p from 99p Stores

I received this from my Mum for Xmas. I know where it's from as I used to buy it for myself. This has a mousse type of formula, but it is a bit more smooth like a gel too. It works well for the price. There is not much of a scent to it.

I received these for Xmas from my fella's Mum. Previously reviewed here.

Gillette Razor, Price Unknown

I'm sorry I can't tell you the price of this product as I just picked it up on a trip to Morrison's recently and I can't find the receipt. It came in a pack of about 4 I think. I like the grip of this handle. It's made of plastic and rubber. These are not too sharp so I don't nick myself as easily as I would with the Bic razors, but it still does a good job.

Left To Right:

Boots Soltan Moisturising Aftersun Lotion, £4.25 in a pack with the suncare lotion SPF15 from ebay.co.uk

I think that fella of mine nicked this from his Mum when we moved. The second time I got badly burnt this year was in my garden after applying sun lotion throughout the day. I'm a sensitive soul don't ya know :( I was not amused and in need of some cooling relief. This lotion did feel very cooling. I think the packaging of this product has changed now or it may be a different product entirely as Boots is showing 'hydrating' creams in this range as opposed to this 'moisturising' one?

Boots Mango & Orange Blossom Shower Gel, £1.29 from Boots

Previously reviewed here.

Sanctuary Spa Covent Garden Foaming Cream Scrub, £3.99 plus delivery from ebay.co.uk

My fella bought me this a couple of Xmas' back as part of a gift set. This was a nice scrub that had a sheen to it, although it did not look shiny on my skin after use. I do like the scent and the size of the scrub particles. I did become sensitive to the body lotion from this range at Sanctuary which is why I put off using this, but this product did not cause a reaction on my skin at all.

Superdrug Essential Anti-Perspirant Deodorant, Was approx 69p, but I believe no longer available

Previously reviewed here.

Left To Right:

Caudalie Eaux Fraiches (Zeste De Vigne), £26.00 from uk.caudalie.com

I received this in my June 2012 GlossyBox. My thoughts are the same as my initial impressions in that post. Two friends at work said they liked this fragrance.

I think this is known as the Original fragrance from Juicy Couture. I have had this bottle for a few years now and believe me I have savoured every last drop. My fella bought me this in a gift set one Xmas that came with the body lotion and shower gel. I adore this fragrance. If I had to pick one scent for the rest of my life this would be it. I have had so may compliments when I wear this. Even from strangers. I used to save this mostly for going on evenings out as I didn't want to use it all up to easily. I would say that if you are looking to feel sexy, sultry and put together this is the scent for you. This is not child-like at all. I have tried and enjoyed many scents over the years, but this one never fails to make me feel like a sex kitten. I would be happy to receive this as a gift again this Xmas or even for my birthday in January, MASSIVE HINTS THROWN AT FELLA HERE ;) I will enjoy the necklace that is wound around the top of the bottle as a keepsake if nothing else.

JolieBox Nail File, Free with my June 2012 JolieBox

Who couldn't love a pink nail file. I have used this quite a bit, but it has worn out and is starting to bend near the middle so it's time to let it go.

Barry M Nail Paint in the shade 279 - Bright Pink, £2.66 with free delivery

NOTD post and review here.

Primark Ta Ta For Now Magic Undereye Concealer (Light), Unsure if still available?

Previously reviewed here.

Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Ultimate 16 Hour Wear Concealer (Light 2), £3.99 from Boots

'Collection 2000' is now known just as 'Collection' for reference. This is a really good concealer and for the price I would pick up again. It has a doe foot applicator. This tube has lasted me absolutely ages. I am very, very pale, but I got the shade Light 2 as the lighter shade was even a bit to light for me so if you are pale be sure to check out the testers first. This concealer covers blemishes well. I have a few red veins that need a little more coverage really, but for the average spot and/or bit of reddening this works really well. It goes on easily. I tap it in with my finger and it blends in with my foundation no problem. I use this under my eyes too and it does not crease. I does not go patchy or dry on my dry skin either. I could not tell you if this lasts 16 hours as I don't usually wear my make-up for more than about 12 hours when I'm at work, but it does a pretty good job for that long. The only bad thing about this product is the writing on the packaging. As you can see it has all rubbed off.

E.L.F. Waterproof Eyeliner Pen (Black), £1.50 from eyeslipsface.co.uk, $1.00 from eyeslipsface.com

Usually I am a massive fan of buying products from E.L.F., but this one I was not impressed with. I have tried this quite a few times as I don't like to give up on products easily, but compared to other eyeliner pens this one just doesn't do the job. The nib does not stay solid and precise to get that smooth, clean line, but more than that it's just not really black how I want it to be. It's like a faded black. The coverage is not that great as it skips over the skin on the eyelid. When I go back over the line to fill in the gaps it then takes a bit of the product off that I have already applied. I have heard some people rave about this pen and some that have similar woes to mine so it might be a bit of a hit and miss product? I'm glad I tried it, but it's not for me.

So that's all my empty products from the last month. I hope you found these wee reviews helpful.

Love to you all

Left To Right:

Elysambre Natural Lipstick (217201 Glossy Red Brown), £9.03 for the next 11 days, usually £11.29 for 3.5g

I do like this shade of lipstick. It is a berry red shade with a brown undertone. It looks very matte in the tube, but when I swatched it on my hand it felt quite smooth so I think I might like it as I can find matte lipsticks quite drying on my already very dry lips. This matte lipstick contains pearl and gloss which is what I think will hopefully help in keeping my lips moisturised. This has a small pop off lid. The lipstick itself has the typical lipstick scent, but it's not at all unpleasant. This is smaller than most of my lipsticks, but on my information card it states this is full size.

Institut Esthederm UV inCellium Spray, £42.50 for 150ml

This is a spray bottle as titled above. This has a soft, subtle scent like suncream as essentially that's what it is. You can also use this 7 days prior to sun exposure to protect your skin. Good if it works in preparation for a holiday I guess, but it's way expensive. I know it's meant to help prolong the length of your natural tan, but I would not pay this price. I could have done with this last week when I got very sun burnt though. Ironic really, ha ha.

L'Occitane Angelica Hydration Cream, £29.00 for 50ml

This is meant to be ideal for dry to normal skin and as mine is so dry hopefully this will work well for me. This feels very smooth and has a very natural, subtle scent. Almost like cucumber. This is a new product.

Yon-Ka Pamplemousse Protective and Vitalizing Cream Normal to Oily Skin, Price unknown

I'm sorry I can't tell you the price of this product as it doesn't say on my information card or on the Yon-Ka & JolieBox websites. This cream feels nice and has quite a zesty scent. This is not for my skin type, but I didn't fill in my beauty profile as I have had a lot of trouble with payment of my JolieBox's which I will explain later on in this post. I would have liked to try the cream meant for dry skin as a preference. The tube of this cream I have is 50ml which I'm not sure if is full size? I am not sure why I would be sent two face creams in the same box?

JolieBox Nail File, Free

This is a cute little extra that I will use. There are also a few discount codes in this box which is great.

Now onto the reason I will no longer be purchasing JolieBox's. Every month for the past few month's there has been some sort of problem with paying for my boxes. With my June box JolieBox could not rectify the problem. I received a new bank card a while ago, but once that had been updated on my details that payment went through, but for my June box this was not the case. I updated my GlossyBox bank card details and those boxes have been coming through fine so I have no idea what's going on. I don't really want to open a new bank card simply to pay for my JolieBox's and so this will be my last box. JolieBox very kindly sent me this June box for free due to the inconvenience of having this issue each month and I really appreciate it. I have really enjoyed this year with JolieBox and I hope they have another successful year. Happy 1st Birthday JolieBox! I will miss you :(

Which products did you receive in you anniversary box? Are you happy with them? Have you had any payment issues?

Love to you all

May 2012 Empties

Hello Gorgeous. Yeah that's all of you. I really want to get into this post straight away today as I have so many products to talk about. I am going to share with you my thoughts on the products I used up in May.

Face Wash, Make-Up Removers, Face Serum & Face Cream

Left To Right:

Bliss Fabulous Foaming Face Wash, £18.40 for 197ml

This product came in my October Feelunique Beauty Box, Link. This face wash smells like bubblegum which I love. The exfoliating beads didn't do much for me so I used this purely as a face wash.

Bioré Make-Up Removing Wipes

I need to get some more of these. I received these for free to review. You can find my review post here. The regular price for a pack of 25 wipes was £3.99 from Superdrug, but I have never seen them in my local store and I can no longer find them on the Superdrug website. Do any of you lovelies know where I can find them? Please help as they make me skin feel sooooooo smooth.

Taaj Himalaya Micellar Water, £16.97 for 500ml

I received this product in my February JolieBox, Link. This was an okay make-up remover. Just enough came out of the top when tipped onto a cotton wool pad. It's a bit too herbally for me as I started thinking about marinating something every time I used it. Just not for me. The last time I used this I managed to slice my finger quite badly by closing the lid which is now just healing :(

Caudalie Vinosource SOS Thirst-Quenching Serum, £26.10 for 30ml

I received this product in my April GlossyBox, Link. This was a bit too runny for me. I prefer more of a thicker face serum.

Tropic Skincare Skin Revive, £15.95 for 50ml

I received this product in my April JolieBox, Link. This was a nice enough cream to use on my face, but I am still undecided on whether or not I like the scent.

Multi-tasker, Shower Washes & Body Exfoliation

Left To Right:

DR Bronner's Magic Liquid Soap, £3.14 - £11.69 for 118ml - 944ml

I received this product in my February GlossyBox, Link. This can be used in a number of ways, but I only used it for three. As a toothpaste it is awful. It literally is brushing your teeth with liquid soap. Horrible! As a hand wash it was okay. I used this mostly as a shower wash. It is refreshing because of the peppermint, but do be careful when washing down below as it's extremely tingly. You have been warned!

Marks & Spencer La Maison de Senteurs Body Wash, £3.50 for 200ml

I received this product as a Xmas present from a friend, Link. I love this baby soft scent which I am a sucker for.

Rituals Yogi Flow Foaming Shower Gel Sensation, £6.50 for 200ml

I received this product in my December GlossyBox, Link. This foaming shower gel has such a gorgeous scent. So sensual and sexy.

Yardley Luxury Body Wash (English Lavender), £2.63 for 200ml

I received this product in my March JolieBox, Link. This was okay to use and has quite a spa relaxing scent to it.

Beyonce Heat Pearl Exfoliating Shower Gel

I bought this as part of a gift set in the January 2011 sales from ASOS. I love the scent of this. It's very warm and sensual. The exfoliating beads didn't do anything in the way of exfoliation for me so I used a separate body exfoliator. If you Google this product there are a few links for it, but you may want to purchase the gift set if you really like the scent.

Body Scrub, Shave Gel & Anti-Perspirant Deodorants

Left To Right:

Primark Ooh La SPA DO NOT DISTURB Salt Scrub

I really like the style of this jar. I think the rubber seal shown tucked behind the jar was purely to keep the product sealed in before opening as I never put it back after opening it. I think this was only a couple of pounds at the time, but I bought it so long ago. I don't think they sell this anymore, sorry. This did feel really nice to use though. It's a kind of sugar scrub. I do like the fresh scent of this too.

Gillette Satin Care Floral Passion Shave Gel, £3.25 for 200ml, $19.59 for a pack of six 7 ounce cans

I received this as part of my Xmas goodies, Link. I usually always buy the Gillete shave gels as I like how they feel on my skin. The scent of this product is floral but quite subtle.

Superdrug Essential Anti-Perspirant Deodorant

One of the products I received as part of my Xmas gifts, Link. The other can I purchased myself. I have previously reviewed this here. This is not shown on the Superdrug website, but I think it's around 69p for a 200ml can.

Body Creams & Scents

Left To Right:

Beyonce Heat Gold Sparkling Body Lotion

I bought this as part of the gift set that I mentioned earlier in this post. This has the same sensual scent. The gold sparkle in this product is very subtle.

Baylis & Harding England Skin Spa Body Butter, £14.99 for the Drawer Set

I received this as part of a gift set for my birthday, Link. This has a pretty rose, ylang ylang & patchouli scent. This was a nice cream to use. I would say it is more of a cream than a body butter as it has a looser consistency than a lot of body butters.

Hello Kitty Liberty Body Butter

I received this product as part of my Xmas gifts, Link. I previously reviewed this product here. This range was Limited Edition at Boots around Xmas time, but you may be able to find this on Ebay or Amazon.

Barbie Fab Floral Spritz, £3.10 for 100ml

I purchased this product from Avon, Link in October. I think the bottle is so cute and so pink, yay :) This was nice enough to use. I may keep the bottle to fill with water when I want to spray my make-up brushes to apply pigments.

Lolita Lempicka L'Eau en Blanc, £49.00 - £65.00 for 50ml / 100ml

I received this product in my May GlossyBox. Check out this Link for my thoughts on this product.

Fendi Fan Di Fendi Eau De Toilette, $67.00 for 1.7oz, £33.95 for 30ml / £57.00 for 75ml

I received this product in my March GlossyBox. You can check out this Link to see my thoughts on this scent.

Toothpaste, Lip Salves, Hand Creams & Foundation

Left To Right:

Macleans Total Health Toothpaste, £2.13 for 100ml

My Mum picked this up for me and it tastes fine. I prefer to buy whitening toothpastes, but Mum picked up the wrong one. I forgive you Mum. I prefer flip top lids on toothpaste though. I want to try some of the Crest White Strips so if you know the best place to order them please let me know and which ones out of the range work best for you.

Lip Lishuss! Vanilla Scent Lip Balm

I received this product in a pack of two as part of my Xmas gifts, Link. I have no idea where you can buy Lip Lishuss! products. This product is too vanilla for me. It is a lotion consistency with granules. I don't like how it feels applying it to my lips.

LP Skin Therapy (Lip Rescue Gel), £15.00 for 8ml

I received this product in my July GlossyBox, Link. When I first received this product I really liked it because of the orange scent and the doe foot applicator, but my boyfriend has been hating this. He doesn't like the way this feels on my lips and I kind of know what he means. It coats your lips with a kind of rubbery barrier and is no good at all if you want to apply any lip products over the top as they just won't adhere to your lips with this on. This has lasted ages though.

Sanctuary Spa Covent Garden Hand Lotion, £4.25 for 250ml

I really like the scent of this. It's a very calming spa aroma. The pump design is what really attracted me to this product. I had used the Body Lotion from this range for such a long time, but for some reason it started reacting badly to my skin. Other products in this range that I had already bought seem okay at the moment though.

Arbonne FC5 Ultra-Hydrating Hand Creme

I received this item in my November GlossyBox, Link. This product felt so nice to use and the tube seemed to last forever. The tube is a little bland, but the product makes up for it. I would Google this product if you are interested in purchasing it as there are lots of links with various prices/sizes for it.

Max Factor Ageless Elixir 2 in 1 Foundation + Serum SPF 15 - Natural 50, £12.99 for 30ml from Boots or Superdrug

I received this product for free and I have previously reviewed it here. My boyfriend commented about a month ago that I was looking a bit orange with this on so I went for the lighter shade of Light Ivory, but it's a bit too light for even me. My boss actually asked me if I was feeling okay the first time I wore it as I looked so pale. I have been mixing it with my Eyeko Tinted Cream and I think it works better.

The products I would buy in the future are:

Bioré Make-Up Removing Wipes

Marks & Spencer La Maison de Senteurs Body Wash

Rituals Yogi Flow Foaming Shower Gel Sensation

Primark Ooh La SPA DO NOT DISTURB Salt Scrub

Gillette Satin Care Floral Passion Shave Gel

Superdrug Essential Anti-Perspirant Deodorant

Sanctuary Spa Covent Garden Hand Lotion

Max Factor Ageless Elixir 2 in 1 Foundation + Serum SPF 15

So that's all of my May Empties. I hope you found this post useful. Which products have you been loving and loathing in May?

Love to you all
