VITA LIBERATA NKD SKN MEDIUM TINTED TAN MOUSSE

Hi beauties. I hope you are all having a great week. Today I have a review for you of a tanning product that was sent to me a while ago from the very popular tanning brand VITA LIBERATA

I was so excited to try it out, but due to skin/medical issues that may affect the result of the tan and not wanting you to wait any longer for a review my friend very kindly tried out the tan for me and answered some questions about it so that I can still review it for you.

The claims:

A lightweight tinted mousse formula in a medium shade.

Glides on like velvet over the skin.

A gorgeous bronze tan that is odourless and fades without patching.

Leaves skin super soft and lasts up to 7 days.

Foolproof application that dries instantly so that you can get dressed straight away.

An extra soft flock application mitt that gives a streak free result.

So what were the results?

Q. Did the tan feel light and airy on the skin?

A. Yes very! It didn't feel like I was wearing fake tan at all :)

Q. Did it apply easily?

A. Yes it gave an instant colour so you could see where you had applied it so no body parts were missed. A great streak free finish! The mitt was fab and made the application so easy.

Q. Was it odourless?

A. There was a very slight biscuit smell that was hardly noticeable. My boyfriend didn't complain so that says something.

Q. Did it fade without any patching?

A. Yes! It faded very naturally. I exfoliated on day 3 and it stayed a very even colour.

Q. Did it dry instantly?

A. Yes. There was a slight tacky feeling for about 5 minutes after applying it, but then that feeling went away.

Q. Did your skin feel soft with it on?

A. Yes it left my skin feeling soft.

Q. How long did it last?

A. 1 week!

Q. Was there any transfer onto bedsheets or clothing while wearing the tan?

A. No. I applied it at night and showered the next morning. I was left with a lovely deep colour. There were no stains on my bedsheets or clothing the whole week.

Q. What type of shade does the tan give?

A. I usually go for light/medium tinted tans, but this medium shade was a little darker. It was a lovely golden bronze that didn't look muddy or orange in tone at all. It was a very wearable shade and didn't look too dark. A very natural bronzed shade.

Q. Would you purchase the tan and mitt yourself?

A. Definitely 100%. It was so easy to apply and gave and beautiful golden bronze shade that was not too light or too dark. It didn't go patchy either. I loved it and would buy it myself in the future.

My friend is obviously a big fan of VITA LIBERATA now and who can blame her with these results.

Hi beauties and welcome on this fine Friday.

Today I have a superb discount code to share with you from the oh so popular self tan brand VITA LIBERATA

Fancy a 45% discount on purchases from their NKD SKN LUXE COLLECTION? Thought so :)

If you are already a fan or want to discover which products in their Luxe Collection would suit you best take a look now with an almost half price discount.

Option 1: MATTE WASH OFF INSTANT TAN'S (MEDIUM OR DARK) for those who love instant results while feeling moisturised. Perfect for parties or last minute invites with a formula that washes away at the end of the night, or the next morning ;)

Option 2: The DARK TINTED TAN LIQUID is an instant 'holiday in a bottle' if you love a deep, dark tan that lasts up to 7 days.

Option 3: The TINTED TAN MOUSSE (MEDIUM OR DARK) is a lightweight formula that dries instantly so you can run out the door straight away. Lasts up to 7 days and fades without patchiness.

As you can see there are different products to best suit your skin type and desired shade. All formula's are odourless.

I have been sent this NKD SKN MEDIUM TINTED TAN MOUSSE to try from their Luxe Collection along with their TANNING MITT and will be following up with a review soon.

I am always keen to try self tanners, but what puts me off is the time and effort that usually needs to be put in. Also the dreaded fear that I will end up looking unnatural (tangoed), streaky and smell like curried biscuits for a product that may not last that long anyway.

I am excited to try this product for promises of an instant, natural looking tan with a quick drying formula that is odourless and lasts up to 7 days. I will be back soon with a review!

Enter code BEAUTIFULL45 when making your purchases from the Vita Liberata NKD SKN LUXE COLLECTION. Offer ends 2nd February!

Let me know your favourites from the Vita Liberata NKD SKN LUXE COLLECTION with reasons why in the comments below.

SKINCARE, TANNING & FRAGRANCE

Hi lovelies it's good to know you are here. I have 4 product mini reviews for you all for your body.

I received this product in my March Beauty Blossom GlossyBox where you can find full product information. This was not a heavy cream and did absorb into the skin easily. The scent I like, but don't love.

OUTDOOR GIRL SUMMER LEGS TAN IN A CAN LIGHT/MEDIUM

I think I picked this up in a 99p Store in the hope that I might be lucky to find a product similar to the Sally Hansen airbrush legs product that so many people like, but I have not tried. As expected however I didn't like the look of the shade. I tested a patch on my leg and it looked like a yellowy orange tone. At least it wasn't expensive though. This does however come in a shade of medium/deep so perhaps that's a better tone for those with a darker complexion.

This was another Impulse body spray that I loved. I picked this up in the 99p Store, but it's currently reduced to 98p at Superdrug in the link above. It's a soft floral scent with an uplifting fruitiness of green apple and raspberry.

I was very kindly sent 2 of these cans by Impulse to try and I am still using it. Sometimes I find vanilla scented products a bit too sweet for my taste. This is a little too sweet when I first spray it. Think like creamy butter icing. However once it settles on my skin it changes into a more musky, feminine scent that is not overpowering. This is also reduced to 98p at Superdrug at the moment.

I hope you have enjoyed these body product reviews. Any body cream, tanning or fragrance recommendations please leave in the comments below.

Melvita ProSun Gradual Self-Tanning Moisturising Gel Cream Review

Hi there beauties. I hope you are all doing well this Monday and are not too sad now that the weekend has passed. I have this week off as I always try to on my birthday week. I plan on taking some time to make changes to my blog and play around with my new camera :)

As you can see from the post title this is a review of the Melvita ProSun Gradual Self-Tanning Moisturising Gel Cream

Product information and claims:

SELF-TAN SALVATION DHA-FREE – NO GLOVES – NO STREAKS & NO BISCUIT SMELL!

Product photo from source

A natural, DHA-free formula that moisturises the skin and gives it a beautiful bronzed glow. A self tan like no-other. The formula feels, smells and moisturises like a body lotion with the added benefit of imparting a natural-looking tan.

It features Erythrulose, an innovative, natural bronzing agent derived from sugar cane which results in an even, streak-free tan with a vanilla flower and sweet orange water scent.

Free from DHA, which can lead to an orange-tinted shade, uneven coverage, and an unpleasant smell as well as leave the skin more vulnerable to free radicals, the Melvita ProSun Gradual Self-Tanning Moisturising Gel Cream gives a gradual, controlled and even tan.

Gone is the exhaustive ‘self-tan ritual’ donning gloves and smoothing on foams in long strokes. Using a combination of safflower, buriti, coconut oils and beeswax the tanning cream moisturises the skin without the need for protective gloves or application pads.

The ProSun Gradual Self-Tanning Moisturising Gel-Cream is certified organic by EcoCert and is dermatologically tested and approved. It is non-greasy and perfect for all skin types.

My thoughts and application:

Feeling nervous yet excited about using this product was expected. I don't often use fake tan products as I am very pale and fear that I will end up looking tangoed or even worse tangoed and streaky. Not a good look I think we can all agree. I have previously had spray tans applied professionally as well as trying out creams, mousses and sprays at home. I do like to dabble now and then when I am feeling way too pasty, but usually it's such a ritual to exfoliate and shave the day before. Remember to not moisturise or apply deodorant/perfume before application, except for a little moisture cream on areas such as ankles, knees and elbows. Then standing around for at least an hour to let it sink in and usually sleeping with a deep guide colour overnight before washing it off the next day. My boyfriend hates it when I fake tan as he can't stand the smell and thinks it looks too unnatural. I thought this would be a good product to try without telling him as it's gradual and would hopefully look natural without the biscuity, curry pong.

Friday:

In the evening I had a bath, shaving and exfoliating my body. I decided to apply a face mask and read a mag to let my pores close a little from shaving in case I ended up with dark spots on my legs where the tan had sunk in. I have never applied tan the same day as my prep and as this is a moisturiser as well as a lotion I did not use a regular moisturiser on my ankles, knees and elbows prior to application.

Because it was my first application I wanted to be careful. I stood on a towel in the bathroom with a full length mirror so that I would ensure to not miss any areas. I also wore a headband and tied my hair up so that no hair would be coloured.

The cream is yellow and when applying it from the tube it applies just like any moisturiser cream. I wouldn't say it felt like a gel cream as described. More like a lotion to be honest. On my skin it looked pale yellow/white. Although there wasn't any tan guide colour the cream was visible enough to see on the skin so no areas were missed. It's just like the type of body cream that really needs to be worked into the skin and doesn't sink in straight away. Something I usually hate, but in this instance an advantage.

I started at my feet and worked my way up my legs, ensuring to bend the knees at one point to avoid the white knee crease. I then did my bottom, hips, sides, tummy, chest, neck, face (avoiding eyebrows, eyes and lips), ears, arms (again bending elbows in and out to avoid tan crease or missed bits) and finally hands. With the hands I went straight over the tops using each hand to apply on the other, then made claw shapes and rubbed it in to avoid creases in the knuckles. Then I slid my fingers between both hands so that there were no lines at the sides of my fingers. I have been there and done that with these mistakes believe me. Finally I used face wipes to clean toe and finger nails, the tan bottle, the soles of my feet and the palms of my hands. It does say to wash your hands, but then I don't see how you will get a nicely blended tan from your arms to your fingertips.

I did have some time so I wrapped myself in an old, thin dressing gown so that I didn't sweat it off and continued to read my magazine. The tan did feel a little tacky and warming on my skin, but after about an hour I felt comfortable enough to put on my PJ's and continue as normal. There was no obvious colour change at this stage. I did find the vanilla in this product on my first application way too sickly, but then I am not a massive fan of vanilla.

Saturday:

After showering I applied the tan in the same manner and I did feel like I was starting to get a slight glow, but more like healthy glowing skin than a light tan. The vanilla scent had started to fade slightly and unfortunately the biscuity curry scent had started to arrive.

Sunday:

I applied it again in the same way. I got dressed this time about half an hour after applying as we were going out. There was absolutely no colour transfer on to my clothes or bedding from this product. Today was the day when I felt like I definitely had a natural looking, light tan. The biscuity curry scent was much more evident on this day. That evening my fella asked me what I smelt of while turning his nose up. I could see that he had noticed the colour change in my skin by now too.

Monday:

Monday's and Friday's are the days when I would normally exfoliate my face and body anyway so that I start both the working week and weekend feeling fresh and renewed. I must say that I am looking forward to taking my tan off for the reason of nothing more than the smell. I know that the product is DHA free and claims not to have a terrible smell, but unfortunately for me that was not the case. I am really gutted as I love this product in every other way. Here is my pro and con list for those considering trying this product:

Pro's:

Easy to apply as cream is visible until rubbed in thoroughly.

Acts as a moisturiser so a 2-in-1 product.

No need for 2 tanning products as works on both face and body.

No patches or streaking.

No defined tan lines where tan ends and natural skin begins (palms of hands).

Natural shade.

Buildable daily so not obviously fake as it's light in tone.

Perfect for fair skins like mine.

No dots in leg pores after shaving or in pores of face.

Can be applied soon after shaving and exfoliating rather than the next day like some tans advise.

Does not transfer on to clothes (other than slightly around neck of dressing gown when 1st applied).

Lovely glow on the skin remains even after showering and using face wash each day.

Great for 1st time tanners.

Even after washing hands from cleaning, cooking and using the loo the fade is very natural along my hands. So no dark arms and white hands. Obvious fake tan signs!

Con's:

Fake tan smell was present and stronger on 3rd day of application.

Final thought:

If it wasn't for the scent I would totally purchase this product myself as I think it's fail safe in application and looks so natural. I have applied this liberally to my face and body for three days and I would say I have about half left of this 150ml tube. So that's a £22.00 product that should last me about 6 applications. That's about £3.60 per application or about £11.00 to get to the level of tan I want after 3 days of application. If I were to use this again I would plan the days ahead to build up to this.

I do feel that if I had applied it again today that it might have looked less natural. This is why I have now exfoliated and although the tan is less obvious I am still left with a more golden tone than my usual pasty white. There are areas where then tan has come off more than others, but it's much less obvious than other tanners I have previously removed.

If the usual fake tan scent does not bother you then I would give this product a try as I am sure you will love it!

The Melvita range is available from uk.melvita.com, selected John Lewis stores and johnlewis.com, Wholefoods stores, BeautyMART at Harvey Nichols and feelunique.com

Beauty Cutey Intro & Dreamweave & Co Lash Construct Magnet Mascara Black Review

Hi there wonderful people. Happy, happy, joy, joy the sun is out. I ventured out today in my short acidwash dungarees and a white t-shirt. No jacket for me which is unheard of and I was not cold, yipee!

Anyway today I have a mascara for you that was sent to me for free by Beauty Cutey to review.

Dreamweave & Co Lash Construct Magnet Mascara Black. I do like the packaging of this mascara. It's a simple gold tube, but I think it stands out from all the cheaper looking plastic styles out there.

The plastic brush head is has spokes all around it, but none on top like some other brands do. The brush head flexes at the end of the wand so it is not stiff. I do like this type of wand as I think it gives the best type of application for me. The formula of the mascara itself is quite wet as you can probably see from this photo.

Before mascara. You can see the blonde tips of my lashes.

I applied one coat to the top lashes and used the remaining product on the lower lashes.

I added a second coat to the top lashes only as I prefer a thicker flutter on top.

Here is a little info about the product:

Dreamweave & Co have developed a brand new system using ‘WIDE LASH’ technology that will thicken and nourish the root and stem in 15 days. When Dreamweave mascara is applied it gives a weightless lengthening and flexible flutter with no smudges, clumps or panda eyes. With its ‘go to bed’ formulation you can wake up and still be mascared.

I would say that this mascara is definitely thickening as the silicone formula wraps around your lashes which is why they advise to apply to one side of your lashes first and then the other. I have always applied mascara to the top of my lashes and then the underneath as any eyeshadow used will fall onto your lashes so when you look downwards or close your eyes this will show unless you coat the top too. Just a little tip ;)

I do not find the formula clumpy unless applying two coats as I do, but even then it's only very slight. As the idea is not to go back over the mascara once you have coated both sides I can't really fault the mascara for this anyway.

The pigment is very black which I really like. The formula is quite wet and so it's easy to transfer the mascara onto your lids if you are in a rush like I was here, but as long as you are careful it will be fine.

The lashes when it has dried are left flexible and do not flake. I have noticed smudging under my left eye below the lashes, but this does not happen every time as it's fine today and I have been wearing it for about 8 hours.

I haven't tried sleeping in it as I take my make-up off at night so I can't tell you if it will look as good the next morning.

I would say this is a weightless and lengthening mascara too. I can't tell yet, but let me know in the comments if you think this has thickened and nourished the roots of your lashes if you have used it.

This 6ml Mascara is available at Beauty Cutey for £14.50. If you decide to order products from Beauty Cutey please use code beautifuladdictions so that they know I have introduced you to the brand via my blog.

October 2012 GlossyBox: DIY Beauty

Hey Beauties. I received my October GlossyBox in the post. This month is Breast Cancer Awareness month and GlossyBox are supporting this worthy cause by donating to Breast Cancer Care. This month they have put together a box of pampering treats to create a 'home spa' experience. Perfect for a girls night in. So here is my box :)

Now the products .....

Left To Right:

Anatomicals Don't Just Clean It Woman, Scrub It Body Scrub, £3.49 for 200ml

Rub a dub dub, this is no po-faced scrub.

I am normally put off and bored by long titled products, but the wit behind this product name is amazing. I really like the scent of this pink grapefruit exfoliator. It has a gel consistency with quite small exfoliating particles. When I rub it into my hand it develops a slightly white appearance so I think it may foam up a bit when I use it.

Yves Rocher France Instant Anti-Wrinkle Moisturiser - Hydra Vegetal, £18.00 for 30ml

Targeted moisturising for wrinkle-prone areas. The Instant Anti-Wrinkle Moisturiser: - Provides deep and lasting moisture - Immediately smoothes wrinkles. Its plus factor: Enriched in Hyaluronic Acid for a greater efficacity! Formula tested under dermatological supervision. No animal ingredients.

I love trying out new moisturisers. This one claims to smooth wrinkles immediately. I will let you know if this improves my wrinkly appearance, ha ha. This has a clean, fresh scent to it.

Left To Right:

Skinetica Anti-Blemish, £6.99 for 100ml

A unique solution for clearing skin blemishes (acne, spots, pimples etc) showing results in 2-3 days. Skinetica has been dermatologically tested and proven to be kind to skin with no side effects. It is non greasy and contains no toxic chemicals. Skinetica soothes, calms and clears for a great complexion. Suitable for all skin types.

I get the odd few spots, especially at that time of the month, but I haven't ever had full on acne so I can't test this product for that purpose. I think it's great if this does show improvement in 2-3 days and if it has no side effects that's brill too. This product does not smell offensive in any way.

Green People Organic Self Tan, £18.95 for 200ml

A healthy, natural-looking tan, quick drying, non-greasy and no biscuit smell! Lightly scented with natural essential oils. Tan will develop after 3-4 hours. Re-apply every 3-5 days for maximum impact. To maintain the tan re-apply after 3 days.

This product is a white lotion that looks as though it will apply smoothly. I'm not a frequent self-tanner so I will need to see how I get on with this.

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure (630 Haute Chocolate), £6.99 for 14.7ml

5 Steps in 1 Bottle:

• Base Coat
• Strengthener
• Growth Treatment
• Color
• Top Coat

I can't wait to try this as if all I need is to apply 2 coats of this for the perfect manicure I'm sold. I would describe my shade as a rose chocolate shimmer.

So that's everything. I like this box. It leads me from taking care of my skin to being revealed as a bronzed, manicured goddess. Okay so I'm getting carried away, but that's how pampering is meant to make you feel right?

Speed Beauty Event

Hi All. The weather has been glorious and I love it. I am going to get straight into my post today as I picked up the keys to the house I have bought with my fella on Friday so we are all over the place getting ready to move in while still going to work.

On Thursday I attended the Speed Event at the Haymarket Hotel to peruse products from rapidlash.com, RapidBrow, modelcocosmetics.com, ardelllashes.com, No. 4711 and ecotools.com.

The Double Up is latest style from Ardell

My Champers :)

Coooooeeee :)

I think it's great that EcoTools recycle. Their make-up brushes feel amazingly soft.

I was a bit wary of trying this heated lash curler out as I didn't want to damage my lashes, but I loved the results. I curled my lashes with my mascara that I had already applied on. It's the Turbo Lashwand and retails at £22.00, Link :)

Both eyes styled with the Turbo Lashwand. The eye on the left with Fibre Lash added, £35.00

Both eyes with Fibre Lash added

Only the top lashes have been styled with the products mentioned above. I like how the Fibre Lash gives you fuller looking lashes, but it makes your lashes look a bit clumpy and I like mine full yet separated.

I was told that this is a unisex fragrance, but to me it smells more masculine and I think the packaging is too.

Now on to my Goody Bag of free products ....

The RapidBrow & RapidLash products I will save for a time when I need them as my brows and lashes are quite full at the moment. I am looking forward to trying out these Ardell lashes as false lashes are something I really want to master.

I hope this make-up brush from EcoTools works well as it was mentioned a lot in discussions. The tanning products I will of course try as with this gorgeous sunshine I don't want to show off pasty white legs. The fragrance I will probably pass on to my boyfriend. The memory stick is handy.

Thank you so much to Kilpatrick PR for inviting me to this event. It was great to discover more about a few brands at one event. I also met some lovely people which I hope to catch up with again soon.

Have you tried any of these products? What are your thoughts on them?

Love to you all
