RITUALS HAMMAM COLLECTION

Hi there lovelies. I love trying out new skincare so when I was sent these products to review from the RITUALS HAMMAM COLLECTION I knew I had to share with you my thoughts on them.

We have all heard of primers for make-up, but how about one for exfoliation? This body cleanser is great especially for those with dry skin. My legs can get quite itchy if they are too dry, but this product instantly makes them smooth and so soft. It has such a fresh Eucalyptus scent that soothes my senses as well as my skin. While having a hot shower I apply the paste to my skin. It's not extra thick in texture, but it looks a bit like a face mask for the body. I simply rinse off and scrub my skin with an exfoliating glove or shower puff. My skin feels smoother using this product rather than my shower puff alone so it's worth this extra step which takes no time at all.

This product is the perfect partner after exfoliation to add even more hydration and lock in moisture. This non-greasy lotion massages into the skin easily leaving a velvety veil to comfort and sooth even further.

These products add inner warmth and a pampered feeling to the skin. There are many other products to discover within the HAMMAM COLLECTION. I already have my eye on the Hammam Massage Body Oil.

NIVEA Q10 FIRMING & CELLULITE SKINCARE

Hi lovelies. I am here today to talk about four Nivea Q10 products that were sent to me to try. I thought why not give you my thoughts on them so here they are :)

Smooths and tones targeted areas such as the thighs, buttocks and belly. Results should be seen in 10 days. Suitable for all skin types.

This is a lovely lightweight gel serum which seems to have fine shimmer particles for a nice sheen on the skin making it look more toned.

Improves skins firmness in 2 weeks leaving it feeling more energised, nourished and protected from drying out.

This has a gorgeous creamy scent and sinks into the skin really well.

Firms the skin in 2 weeks. Energises instantly and reduces the appearance of cellulite even without extra massage in 3 weeks. Suitable for all skin types. Apply to thighs, buttocks and belly without the need for extra massage.

This is a blue gel-cream that seems water based with an unusual scent.

Firms in 2 weeks while intensively moisturising the skin. Nourishing and suitable for stretchmarks. Suitable for all skin types.

Sinks in nicely without being greasy, but the next day it felt like I had a layer of matte soft emollient on my skin which I didn't really like. It says it is suitable for stretchmarks, but does not say it helps them to fade or anything.

Overall I have loved trying out all of these products except the body oil simply because I don't like the product texture that is left on my skin, but others may love it.

All the other products sank into my skin pretty quickly making it feel soft, supple and nourished. I don't seem to have noticed any real difference in the cellulite I have and I haven't become a toned goddess in the last few weeks, but my skin does feel smoother. I love the feel of the cellulite and moisturiser products when I apply them and I can notice a difference in my skin texture. As mentioned above the cellulite serum is great with the sheen it gives for leaner looking limbs.

I am undecided on the powers of these products. I can be a bit lazy when it comes to body moisturising and so I missed a day or two here and there which may/may not have made a difference. However I will continue to use the 3 products that I love because I do feel more body confident when I use them.

Why not share your thoughts on Nivea Q10 products you have tried in the comments below.

SKINCARE : IN-SHOWER BODY MOISTURISERS

Hey lovelies. If you are anything like me and lazy when it comes to applying body moisturisers daily then I could have the perfect solution for you.

This was given to me in a gift set for my birthday, but I have linked to Superdrug above where this product is currently reduced. This has a lovely creamy honey scent that moisturises the skin really well. I have used a few of the Nivea In-Shower body moisturisers and love them. They are so easy to use and add moisture quickly all over your body. Just use your usual shower wash. Then apply this to wet skin and rinse off.

This product is applied to wet skin in the shower and then you rinse it off. It does say you can follow with body cream, but I didn't find I needed to unless I perhaps shaved my legs that day and wanted to add extra moisture. The scent is fantastic with pistachio, almond, and sweet vanilla.

I love both of these brands for lots of products. I do think I like the Nivea In-Shower Body Moisturisers more as I find they moisturise my skin deeper and for longer.

PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN USING IN-SHOWER BODY MOISTURISERS AS THEY WILL MAKE THE FLOOR OF YOUR SHOWER/BATHTUB SLIPPERY ESPECIALLY IF YOU APPLY TOO MUCH!! SO TREAD CAREFULLY AND CLEAN UP AFTERWARDS :)

NIVEA WINTER ESSENTIALS

Hello lovelies. I have a range of Nivea Winter Essentials to share with you that I have been sent to test out over the last few weeks so here are my reviews :)

For normal skin. This is a very lightweight formula with a refreshingly creamy scent of sea minerals and blue lotus. This I preferred out of the three in formula because it so quickly absorbed and kept me moisturised all day long.

For dry skin. This has a non-greasy formula offering soft and supple skin all day long. There is no obvious scent to it. It does a great job, but takes just a bit longer to work as it's a little more intensive.

For dry skin. This formula is much more dense than the other two. It has that classic Nivea packaging as well as scent. It works really well to nourish and moisturise the skin also.

I would definitely rate each of these products, especially for people like myself who have dry sometimes itchy skin that needs intensive moisturisation.

For dry hands. A fast absorbing hand and nail cream for a softening and smoothing effect. I am loving this hand cream. It adds a really nourishing boost every time I apply it and I love the macadamia nut oil scent.

I have previously reviewed the RASPBERRY ROSE scent which I absolutely loved. Recently though my lips have been a bit in turmoil and I felt needed something very neutral. I have been using the ORIGINAL lip butter and OMG it has been a lifesaver. My lips are in the best condition they have been in ages. As you can see these also come in amazing scents such as BLUEBERRY BLUSH, VANILLA & MACADAMIA and CARAMEL linked above.

So for nourishing reliable products to take you through winter these should be on your radar.

Let me know your Nivea winter skincare essentials with reasons why in the comments below.

VASELINE BODY MOISTURISERS

Hey lovelies Happy Sunday! Where did this week go huh? I have two Vaseline body moisturisers to review for you.

I received this product in my FEBRUARY 2014 BACK TO BASICS GLOSSYBOX where you can find product information and my first impressions. This I would describe as a very neutral body lotion and by that I mean I don't think that anyone would find it unusable. The scent is very creamy like a baby skincare product. I love that type of smell. As a moisturiser it worked really well leaving my skin soft, smooth and feeling nourished. I hate applying body moisturisers usually because I don't like that tacky feeling waiting for it to sink before I can get dressed. This lotion however has a non-greasy formula that absorbed into the skin very quickly. This is currently reduced at Boots.

I received this product in my MAY 2014 SUMMER BEAUTY EDIT WITH SUPERDRUG GLOSSYBOX where you can also see my first impressions and product information. This also absorbs into the skin so quickly and is easy to spray on those hard to reach areas. The click and twist top means the product is secure and no lost lids. This really is a non-greasy non-sticky product. The scent is absolutely lush. I really enjoyed moisturising my body with this as it was fast, reliable and gorgeous. This would be my favourite of these two products purely for the reasons just mentioned. This is also currently reduced at Boots.

These both leave the skin moisturised, hydrated, nourished, soft and smooth. It just depends on which product application is your preference.

Let me know your favourite body moisturising products with reasons why in the comments below.

GLOSSYBOX: SUMMER BEAUTY EDIT WITH SUPERDRUG

Hi lovelies and happy summery Sunday. It's just so beautiful outside that it's almost tempting not to blog, but have no fear I promise I will. Today I have my May GlossyBox first impressions to share with you. This box is the 'Summer Beauty Edit' in collaboration with Superdrug to celebrate their 50th birthday! Superdrug is one of my go to beauty essentials stores so I knew this would be an exciting box.

SOLAIT ILLUMINATING FACIAL BRONZING CREAM ~ £2.99 FOR 100ML

With light reflecting particles to give a healthy, luminous glow as well as ingredients to hydrate and soften the skin.

Exfoliate before use. Apply to a clean, dry face with a tanning mitt or your hands. Blend at the hairline and eyebrows. Wash hands immediately after use.

This product is meant to develop within 2-4 hours. The scent in the tub is very much defined by the sweet almond oil. It looks like a medium thickness cream.

For maxed-up lashes this wand has a multitude of bristles to separate and give a fanned out lash effect. This mascara has a built in wiper system taking off excess product when you pull the wand from the tube. There will be a pop sound to ensure it's working.

Coat evenly root to tip, turning as you reach the end to accentuate the curve and prevent clumping.

I have never tried this mascara so I will see just how volumised it can make my lashes.

This foot mask will hydrate for up to 24 hours working while you sleep to give you beautifully soft feet when you wake.

Massage onto clean, dry feet before bed. No rinsing required.

I tried a tiny bit on my hand and it absorbs into the skin instantly which is great as I hate having sticky cream on me when getting dressed let alone going to bed. I would like to soften my heels for summertime so this will definitely be given a go.

A non-sticky or greasy body moisturiser.

Spray evenly over the desired area for long lasting, locked in moisture.

I am a really big fan of spray body moisturisers. It saves scraping or squeezing the product out and makes application a much quicker and easier process. This cocoa butter scent is gorgeous too. I really like the twist lid that clicks into place. No lost lids. I sprayed some on my legs and it has absorbed unbelievably quickly meaning getting dress straight after application is not a problem.

A full coverage lipstick that leaves a soft sheen on the lips.

Sweep on as required.

This is a very pretty lipstick that is very natural and I think would suit all skin tones. It has a lovely sheen which reflects beautifully in the sunlight. A great everyday shade for summer. I do have one negative though and that is the packaging. The lid is very secure and clicks shut, but the lipstick tube feels quite un-sturdy.

Now following on from all of those full size products are the bonus items.

Enhanced with 4 oils for softer, smoother, silkier skin. Non-greasy and non-sticky. For dry skin.

Apply to clean, dry skin. Not for the face.

This sample of body moisturiser is a new product for me to try and will hopefully do the job.

An intoxicating and addictive fruity-floral fragrance.

The fruity top notes are the first thing I notice about this scent. It quickly settles though into it's floral woody base. This musky scent is very sensual. Perfect for summer days and nights.

Well what can I say. I am very impressed by this box indeed. I think this was a great collaboration and I wish Superdrug a very Happy Birthday!!

Shaved, Smoothed & Smelling Good

Hello sweet peas. It's almost the weekend so hoorah for that. Today I have 3 body skincare reviews for you so I will crack on.

I received this product in my Festive Treasures GlossyBox. I must admit that on my first use it felt very unnatural and a little scary to use a razor without any other shaving product. Once I got used to how firmly to press and work it around my body contours though I realised that I was actually pretty impressed with it. The moisturising area around the blades lathers up well once wet. The head is kind of springy, but once I became confident in using this product I knew how much pressure to apply. It is more chunky than other razors obviously so may not be great for travel, but this lasted quite a few uses. I am not sure where the indicator is to let you know when the blades need changing, but once the moisturising strip had worn away at the front I could tell that I couldn't use it any longer.

The moisture spray I have linked above looks different to my bottle so I am hoping that the product has not changed for this review. My bottle is 250ml whereas the bottle linked above is 50ml. I don't remember paying more than £5.00 for this product at the time, but it was quite a while ago. Anyway enough rambling. This moisture spray I would say is an essential for those who find body moisturising a real task. The scent is lovely and spa like. This bottle has lasted ages considering that myself and my boyfriend give each other back massages with it too. My only bad comment is to say I reserve this for when I am at home in my PJ's rather than getting dressed to go out. My reason for this is one day I went to work with fitted coloured trousers on and marks appeared around my knees where the product had seeped through. It is not by any means a greasy product, but it does take longer to sink in than other moisture products. My skin does feel very smooth and moisturised after use though.

I picked this up in the 99p Store however I have linked to Superdrug above as it's not on the 99p Store site and Superdrug currently have it for 99p anyway. I really enjoyed this subtle fruity scent with a blend of wild apple, honeysuckle and coconut. A 99p bargain that I would pick up again.

I hope you enjoyed today's reviews. Let me know your favourite skincare for the body with reasons why in the comments below.

Melvita ProSun Gradual Self-Tanning Moisturising Gel Cream Review

Hi there beauties. I hope you are all doing well this Monday and are not too sad now that the weekend has passed. I have this week off as I always try to on my birthday week. I plan on taking some time to make changes to my blog and play around with my new camera :)

As you can see from the post title this is a review of the Melvita ProSun Gradual Self-Tanning Moisturising Gel Cream

Product information and claims:

SELF-TAN SALVATION DHA-FREE – NO GLOVES – NO STREAKS & NO BISCUIT SMELL!

Product photo from source

A natural, DHA-free formula that moisturises the skin and gives it a beautiful bronzed glow. A self tan like no-other. The formula feels, smells and moisturises like a body lotion with the added benefit of imparting a natural-looking tan.

It features Erythrulose, an innovative, natural bronzing agent derived from sugar cane which results in an even, streak-free tan with a vanilla flower and sweet orange water scent.

Free from DHA, which can lead to an orange-tinted shade, uneven coverage, and an unpleasant smell as well as leave the skin more vulnerable to free radicals, the Melvita ProSun Gradual Self-Tanning Moisturising Gel Cream gives a gradual, controlled and even tan.

Gone is the exhaustive ‘self-tan ritual’ donning gloves and smoothing on foams in long strokes. Using a combination of safflower, buriti, coconut oils and beeswax the tanning cream moisturises the skin without the need for protective gloves or application pads.

The ProSun Gradual Self-Tanning Moisturising Gel-Cream is certified organic by EcoCert and is dermatologically tested and approved. It is non-greasy and perfect for all skin types.

My thoughts and application:

Feeling nervous yet excited about using this product was expected. I don't often use fake tan products as I am very pale and fear that I will end up looking tangoed or even worse tangoed and streaky. Not a good look I think we can all agree. I have previously had spray tans applied professionally as well as trying out creams, mousses and sprays at home. I do like to dabble now and then when I am feeling way too pasty, but usually it's such a ritual to exfoliate and shave the day before. Remember to not moisturise or apply deodorant/perfume before application, except for a little moisture cream on areas such as ankles, knees and elbows. Then standing around for at least an hour to let it sink in and usually sleeping with a deep guide colour overnight before washing it off the next day. My boyfriend hates it when I fake tan as he can't stand the smell and thinks it looks too unnatural. I thought this would be a good product to try without telling him as it's gradual and would hopefully look natural without the biscuity, curry pong.

Friday:

In the evening I had a bath, shaving and exfoliating my body. I decided to apply a face mask and read a mag to let my pores close a little from shaving in case I ended up with dark spots on my legs where the tan had sunk in. I have never applied tan the same day as my prep and as this is a moisturiser as well as a lotion I did not use a regular moisturiser on my ankles, knees and elbows prior to application.

Because it was my first application I wanted to be careful. I stood on a towel in the bathroom with a full length mirror so that I would ensure to not miss any areas. I also wore a headband and tied my hair up so that no hair would be coloured.

The cream is yellow and when applying it from the tube it applies just like any moisturiser cream. I wouldn't say it felt like a gel cream as described. More like a lotion to be honest. On my skin it looked pale yellow/white. Although there wasn't any tan guide colour the cream was visible enough to see on the skin so no areas were missed. It's just like the type of body cream that really needs to be worked into the skin and doesn't sink in straight away. Something I usually hate, but in this instance an advantage.

I started at my feet and worked my way up my legs, ensuring to bend the knees at one point to avoid the white knee crease. I then did my bottom, hips, sides, tummy, chest, neck, face (avoiding eyebrows, eyes and lips), ears, arms (again bending elbows in and out to avoid tan crease or missed bits) and finally hands. With the hands I went straight over the tops using each hand to apply on the other, then made claw shapes and rubbed it in to avoid creases in the knuckles. Then I slid my fingers between both hands so that there were no lines at the sides of my fingers. I have been there and done that with these mistakes believe me. Finally I used face wipes to clean toe and finger nails, the tan bottle, the soles of my feet and the palms of my hands. It does say to wash your hands, but then I don't see how you will get a nicely blended tan from your arms to your fingertips.

I did have some time so I wrapped myself in an old, thin dressing gown so that I didn't sweat it off and continued to read my magazine. The tan did feel a little tacky and warming on my skin, but after about an hour I felt comfortable enough to put on my PJ's and continue as normal. There was no obvious colour change at this stage. I did find the vanilla in this product on my first application way too sickly, but then I am not a massive fan of vanilla.

Saturday:

After showering I applied the tan in the same manner and I did feel like I was starting to get a slight glow, but more like healthy glowing skin than a light tan. The vanilla scent had started to fade slightly and unfortunately the biscuity curry scent had started to arrive.

Sunday:

I applied it again in the same way. I got dressed this time about half an hour after applying as we were going out. There was absolutely no colour transfer on to my clothes or bedding from this product. Today was the day when I felt like I definitely had a natural looking, light tan. The biscuity curry scent was much more evident on this day. That evening my fella asked me what I smelt of while turning his nose up. I could see that he had noticed the colour change in my skin by now too.

Monday:

Monday's and Friday's are the days when I would normally exfoliate my face and body anyway so that I start both the working week and weekend feeling fresh and renewed. I must say that I am looking forward to taking my tan off for the reason of nothing more than the smell. I know that the product is DHA free and claims not to have a terrible smell, but unfortunately for me that was not the case. I am really gutted as I love this product in every other way. Here is my pro and con list for those considering trying this product:

Pro's:

Easy to apply as cream is visible until rubbed in thoroughly.

Acts as a moisturiser so a 2-in-1 product.

No need for 2 tanning products as works on both face and body.

No patches or streaking.

No defined tan lines where tan ends and natural skin begins (palms of hands).

Natural shade.

Buildable daily so not obviously fake as it's light in tone.

Perfect for fair skins like mine.

No dots in leg pores after shaving or in pores of face.

Can be applied soon after shaving and exfoliating rather than the next day like some tans advise.

Does not transfer on to clothes (other than slightly around neck of dressing gown when 1st applied).

Lovely glow on the skin remains even after showering and using face wash each day.

Great for 1st time tanners.

Even after washing hands from cleaning, cooking and using the loo the fade is very natural along my hands. So no dark arms and white hands. Obvious fake tan signs!

Con's:

Fake tan smell was present and stronger on 3rd day of application.

Final thought:

If it wasn't for the scent I would totally purchase this product myself as I think it's fail safe in application and looks so natural. I have applied this liberally to my face and body for three days and I would say I have about half left of this 150ml tube. So that's a £22.00 product that should last me about 6 applications. That's about £3.60 per application or about £11.00 to get to the level of tan I want after 3 days of application. If I were to use this again I would plan the days ahead to build up to this.

I do feel that if I had applied it again today that it might have looked less natural. This is why I have now exfoliated and although the tan is less obvious I am still left with a more golden tone than my usual pasty white. There are areas where then tan has come off more than others, but it's much less obvious than other tanners I have previously removed.

If the usual fake tan scent does not bother you then I would give this product a try as I am sure you will love it!

The Melvita range is available from uk.melvita.com, selected John Lewis stores and johnlewis.com, Wholefoods stores, BeautyMART at Harvey Nichols and feelunique.com

Have you tried any other products from the Melvita range? If yes, what are your thoughts on them? Also what are your favourite gradual tanners? Do they have the typical fake tan smell? Let me know in the comments below.

balance Me. Super Moisturising Body Wash

Hi there my loves. How are you all? I have another product to review for you which was sent to me for free by balance Me.

Information:

This product is free from sulphates so that you will feel fresh and clean whilst treating your body to an intensive moisture hit. The richest and thickest of the balance Me. washes, so a little goes a long way. For head to toe moisturising without any effort, add a cap full to your bath water for a naturally foaming, truly soothing skin soak.

My thoughts:

Hands down I love this product. I have to say that first as there is nothing bad about it. The scent I just can't get enough of. I feel like I am in a spa when I shower with this. A very pampering product which is a real treat for my body. Relaxing, calming, soothing and heavenly are all words that spring to mind. I also reviewed the Super Moisturising Hand Cream from this range too and as you will see in my review I fell in love with that product also because of the scent. I find it very therapeutic which is why I enjoy that the products in this range linger on the skin for hours and hours.

Aside from the gorgeous aroma the body wash itself is a gel like formula that glides over the body leaving you with very moisturised skin. I think this is mainly because of the shea butter.

I tried this in the bath last night and OMG talk about aromatic. The whole bathroom filled with the aroma of this product. I think it would actually be great for those with a cold too as the scent feels like you are breathing something in to make you feel clearer. No joke!

Love to you all

March 2012 JolieBox

Hey, it's me again. I thought it was meant to be a horrible day of rain today, but the sun is out and I'm not complaining. My March JolieBox did not show up for ages after I was told it had been dispatched so they sent me out another one which is why I am a little late posting about this. So here are the products in this box which is named 'Put A Spring In Your Step'.

Left To Right:

Yardley Luxury Body Wash (English Lavender) ~ £3.50 For 200ml

The Information:

A Luxury Body Wash containing Q10 that cleanses, nourishes and moisturises the skin, leaving it feeling soft, smooth and delicately fragranced with English Lavender. Also available in two other fragrances: Royal English Daisy and Peony.

Application:

Use in the bath or shower to cleanse the body.

My Thoughts:

This is a full size product which is great. The scent reminds me of an aromatherapy massage oil. Very relaxing.

Davines Authentic Moisturising Face/Hair/Body Balm ~ £17.40

The Information:

A natural, conditioning, moisturising, organic, Safflower Oil base balm with a treble action: make-up remover for the face, hair balm and body moisturiser. Contains ingredients such as jojoba and sesam oil.

Application:

Face – Apply a small amount to face with cotton wool, avoiding contacts with eyes. Rinse with warm water.

Hair – Apply to towel dried hair. Leave for two minutes, comb the hair and rinse well.

Body – Can be applied to dry or damp skin. Leave for two minutes and then rinse.

My thoughts:

This is full size also which is fab. If you know me you know that I like multi-tasking products. Products like this are great for people who travel. This product has a herbal scent. I am a bit confused that it's described as a body moisturiser yet you are meant to rinse it off?

Eyeko Skinny Eyeliner (Emerald Green) ~ £9.50 / €10.00 / $14.00

The Information:

Eyeko Skinny Eyeliner Pencils for precise definition and intense colour. Line and define for long-lasting colour. The wax based, creamy formula allows for smooth application. Even when you sharpen the pencil to the smallest nub the silver handle remains for longer use. Available in six different shades.

Application:

Use light strokes close to the lash line for everyday definition.  Hold pencil on its side for thicker lines and a dramatic look.

My Thoughts:

I think this should have come with cardboard packaging as it did when I received one of these pencils in my January 2012 GlossyBox: The Valentine's Day Edition. You can see that post here. I could not see the name of this shade on the pencil. Maybe I missed it, but I would describe it as an emerald green. When I checked the website that is what it is called. This is a full size product also.

This is a gorgeous shade that I think will make my eyes pop. So pretty.

LCN Nail Polish From The Free Your Mind 2012 Collection ~ £5.50 For 8ml

The Information:

Discover the new Free Your Mind Collection by LCN! Fast drying nail polishes available in four dreamy, shimmery, on-trend pastel shades. No.330 Free Spirit (8ml), No.331 Free Your Mind (8ml), No. 332 Sky High (8ml) & No.333 Dreamcatcher (8ml).

Application:

For best results use a base coat followed by two coats of your favourite colour and finish with a top coat.

My Thoughts:

I could not see a shade name on the bottle so I'm not sure which one I have. I can not look now as I am not writing this post while at home, but I will check to see if any of the numbers above are on my bottle. If anyone knows please tell me :)

I would describe this as a beautiful golden, creamy caramel with pink, purple and orange shimmers. This is a full size product as well.

JolieBox Mirror

The Information:

A dainty compact mirror that will fit perfectly in your make-up bag.

My Thoughts:

It's always nice to get little extras in life. I think this mirror will fit snugly into my purse for on the go glances.

To top it all off JolieBox have also added the JOLIEMAG to their boxes.

The magazine includes information on products, spring releases, interviews, a manicure step-by-step guide, a www.loveheartsandcrosses.co.uk discount code and information about the JolieBox team, including one of my most favourite Vloggers/Bloggers Anna. You can find Anna's blog and YouTube channel on her Twitter profile @ViviannaMakeup

So overall I like my March JolieBox. I will definitely use all of the products. I love the eyeliner and nail polish shades.

If you are interested in finding out more about JolieBox please see this Link :)

What products did you receive in your March JolieBox? Did you like them? Did your box arrive late?

Love to you all
