BALANCE ME BB NATURAL PERFECTION SPF 25

Hi gorgeous people. It's Friday so let us take a moment to say hooray for the weekend. Okay so mad moment over I will now move on to my review.

Product information:

An anti-oxidant and super plumping BB cream to firm and smooth away imperfections, address uneven skin tone, provide skin with a flawless, luminous finish and protect against the visible signs of ageing thanks to the natural titanium dioxide-based sun filter.

It works to prime, moisturise and protect with SPF and deeply hydrate. A lightweight super silky cream for even sensitive skin types to brighten and condition.

Contains a signature blend of essential oils for intense hydration and 100% hyaluronic acid for super plumping and resurfacing of the skin. Natural oils are included to really nourish and enhance the skin.

This product does not have a whitening effect just a warming mineral based tint for a beautiful glow and light coverage to highlight. Designed for a wide range of skin tones. Also contains redness reducing ingredients.

My thoughts:

Okay so let me start by saying that I do like this product and am still using it as my current everyday make-up base, but I am going to be honest and say that I don't feel all of the above happened for me.

I found no plumping, firming or smoothing effect. By this I mean my skin still very much showed through as the tint of this product is so light to me it is more of a hydrating primer and moisturiser. The coverage would be great for someone who has great skin and just wants a healthy glow as in a skin highlight not a tan glow. I had to use more concealer than usual as I have uneven skin and blemishes. Therefore I can not say that this product gives a flawless finish, but it is luminising.

It is super lightweight on the skin and easy to apply with fingers as I did. I like the SPF factor and the scent is amazing. Very cleansing and relaxing. I love inhaling it every time I apply it to my skin.

Because of the hydrating feel I would say it is conditioning and due to the glow it is brightening. I usually have some redness on my cheeks, but I wouldn't say it was reduced by this product. Therefore if you have really obvious blemishes this product really isn't for you unless you are going to use it solely as a primer.

So in conclusion I do enjoy using this product due to the priming, moisturising, hydrating, highlighting effects and the lightweight feel. Plus it's an easy product to apply every day. SPF is included so that's always a winner for me. The scent relaxes me and prepares me for the day.

The downside is that it didn't plump, firm or smooth my skin. It took more work with concealer for the coverage I like, but it does claim to be a highlighting tint product and not a medium/full coverage product. Although a flawless finish is also claimed.

Let me know if you have tried this product with your thoughts on how it works for you and your skin type in the comments below.

Back To Basics GlossyBox

Hi everyone. Today I am here to give you my first impressions of the January 'Back To Basics' GlossyBox

Yu-Be is so effective on severe dry skin and truly sets itself apart from other creams. This concentrated moisturiser helps hydrate, heal, soothe and smooth severe dry skin. It also helps heal split cuticles and smooth rough, dry skin on hands, elbows and feet, while protecting and moisturising skin exposed to cold, wind, water and sun. Can be used on face, lips and body.

I am interested to see how this cult Japanese product works. Lets hope it really is a 'does it all' skin care item.

I have previously reviewed this product here!

I hate it when tweezers are too thick at the end, but these appear to be quite a slim and precise tool, plus they are pretty.

Reduces eye bags and puffiness.

Cleanse and thoroughly dry the face. Open the foil packet, peel off the plastic and immediately apply as shown in the illustration making sure you've smoothed the patches to ensure contact with the skin. For best results, leave on for 30 minutes and then gently remove.

It's unusual for me to have dark circles, but puffiness around my eyes does unfortunately happen. Especially first thing in the morning. Lets hope they work.

Its non-greasy formulation and multi-layer complex absorbs quickly leaving your skin silky smooth and looking healthy.

This has a non-offensive scent and absorbed quickly into my hand. I am sure this will work fine as a moisturiser, but it would have been nice to try the new spray and go version.
So that's all of the products. I am looking forward to trying out the eye patches, but overall I am not excited about this box. I know the idea of this 'Back To Basics' box was to start the new year with a clean and fresh new you after all of the festivities, but at least one interesting make-up or nail product would have livened it up a bit.

Favourites: 2013 Skincare & Nail Product

Hi there sweeties and happy Thursday! Today I have the last of my 2013 favourites posts for you. Here are my favourite 2013 skincare products with a nail product included.

I don't have all of the products at the moment so this photo only includes the ones I do. I will however include links to posts where I have previously reviewed and shown the products.

Dr Lipp Original Nipple Balm For Lips

I usually prefer twist up tube lip balms as they are easy to use on the go and less messy. This product however was my top 2013 lip saviour. My lips are prone to drying, cracking, peeling, splitting etc. To see my full review check out this link.

RANA Argan Oil

I love using facial oils at night. They really feel like they moisturise and pamper my skin more deeply than most creams, but are too slippery for the day when I apply my make-up. My full review is in this link.

DHC Bio Cellulose Mask

This was the weirdest and funniest mask I have ever used. You can see why in my review here. A great treatment for renewed facial skincare at home.

Poundland Pure Exfoliating Complete Cleansing Wipes

These are so worth the price. Poundland always have these at two packs of 20 wipes for just £1.00. See my full review here.

balance Me. Super Moisturising Hand Cream

A deeply moisturising hand cream with such a therapeutic scent. My full review is in this link.

Crystal Clear Skincare Stay Young Intense Anti-Ageing Serum Moisturiser & Lift Away The Years Wand

This moisturiser combined with the Lift Away The Years magical wand are amazing. If you want more toned, defined and slimmer facial features that lessen the need for make-up contouring check out these products. Available now at Your Beauty M&S. For my Crystal Clear Skincare full reviews check out this post!

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil

Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant

These two when used together sent me to cleansed heaven. My skin felt so clean as all of the dirt and make-up residue had been completely removed without being harsh on my skin. To see my review of both products check out this link!

99p Store Cussons Shower Creams & Shower Gels

First of all total bargains at 99p for these 500ml bottles. The scents are great, especially the wild fruit burst. I am using that one currently. Check out my review on those here!

Elegant Touch Rapid Dry For Nails

A quick drying spray that you simply mist over your painted nails when you can't be bothered with a top coat or are just in a rush. Perfect when you have applied nail art that you don't want to smudge with a top coat too. See my review here!

In the shower I tend to use exfoliating gloves on my body which I generally pick up in pound shops unless I receive body exfoliating products for Xmas, birthdays or in my GlossyBox.

I have been trying to make myself moisturise my body every day and I haven't done too bad with that. I usually use a spray oil if I really can't be bothered when I am at home as I think they tend to sometimes take longer to sink into the skin and may stain clothes if I am in a rush to get dressed and go out. I have used many body creams and lotions throughout the year though which you can find reviews of on my blog in the tags section.

I hope that this post and all of my other 2013 favourites posts have helped you discover some products that you might enjoy. If you do try them please let me know how they work for you.

balance Me. Super Moisturising Body Wash

Hi there my loves. How are you all? I have another product to review for you which was sent to me for free by balance Me.

Information:

This product is free from sulphates so that you will feel fresh and clean whilst treating your body to an intensive moisture hit. The richest and thickest of the balance Me. washes, so a little goes a long way. For head to toe moisturising without any effort, add a cap full to your bath water for a naturally foaming, truly soothing skin soak.

My thoughts:

Hands down I love this product. I have to say that first as there is nothing bad about it. The scent I just can't get enough of. I feel like I am in a spa when I shower with this. A very pampering product which is a real treat for my body. Relaxing, calming, soothing and heavenly are all words that spring to mind. I also reviewed the Super Moisturising Hand Cream from this range too and as you will see in my review I fell in love with that product also because of the scent. I find it very therapeutic which is why I enjoy that the products in this range linger on the skin for hours and hours.

Aside from the gorgeous aroma the body wash itself is a gel like formula that glides over the body leaving you with very moisturised skin. I think this is mainly because of the shea butter.

I tried this in the bath last night and OMG talk about aromatic. The whole bathroom filled with the aroma of this product. I think it would actually be great for those with a cold too as the scent feels like you are breathing something in to make you feel clearer. No joke!

balance Me. Rose Otto Hand Cream

Hey hey there beauties. How are you on this fabulously sunny day? I have been running a few errands this morning and although I have lots to do I still wanted to blog for you lovelies. Today I will be reviewing a product that was sent to me for free to review.

Information:

Combining the best elements of the balance Me. multi-award winning super moisturising hand cream with their most cherished rose essential oil blend. This product has the lightest of textures and is perfect for dry, delicate and sensitive hands. Deeply smoothing and moisturising dry hands with its emollient blend. Providing soothing, plumping and super smoothing effects. This emollient blend can also be used on other areas of the body such as heels, feet and elbows.

My thoughts:

This hand cream I could imagine sitting well with someone who loves vintage. The rose scent and the soft pink packaging all add to that powder room feel. It would sit beautifully on dressing tables of all ages. It is quite a clean, soap like scent. If you like rose scents you will no doubt love this product. This comes in a flip top tube which is easy to open, yet secure.

I fully admit that although I do not find the scent as appealing as the balance Me. Super Moisturising Hand Cream I don't find it unpleasant. I don't usually like many rose scented products, but this is quite softly scented.

This does leave a silky feeling on the hands. I lathered on quite a bit on my first use which was definitely too much and made them feel a bit oily. Around a pea sized amount should smooth over both of your hands nicely.

I do think that this product would also work really well if you have particularly dry areas on your body too.

For information on the balance Me. launch at Debenhams check out this post!

Have you tried out any of the balance Me. hand creams? Which are your favourites? Let me know in the comments below.

Body Washing

Ellooooooo. How you doing lovelies? I have two products for the body to review for you today so I will get started.

Left: balance Me. Super Toning Body Wash, Various sizes/prices

Designed to improve skin tone, soften, smooth and encourage good circulation. The gentle formulation will cleanse without striping the skin of it’s natural oils.

I received this product free with the August issue of Glamour Magazine. This was a good body wash which made my skin feel nicely cleansed.

I am still undecided about the scent. There is a mixture of juniper, bergamot, geranium and lavender which although it's not unpleasant it's quite distinctive. Usually I prefer more zesty or baby soft shower fragrances. For those that prefer deeper spa scents this could be a winner though.

When I saw super toning my first thought was how will this tone the skin? My skin doesn't feel any firmer or tighter from using this product so I would just say this is taking care of the texture of your skin rather than providing you with a toning workout without the effort.

Right: Cussons Pure Moisturising Shower Cream, 99p for 500ml

I picked this up in the 99p Store. This has a gorgeous and creamy scent of shea butter and honey. I would definitely pick this up again as it is such great value too. I would like to see also if there are other scents in this range. It is a little hefty in the shower. I would suggest a gentle tip and pour method when using this so that you don't waste any product.

What are your favourite shower washes? Do you have any balance Me. or 99p Store favourite products? Let me know in the comments below.

balance Me. Super Moisturising Hand Cream

Hi there beauties. I hope your Thursday has been fabbo. I am now on the start of my break from work so I am very happy and looking forward to relaxing. I did however want to get this post up for you today. I was contacted by balance Me. PR and asked to review the balance Me. Super Moisturising Hand Cream which they sent to me for free so I could.

Now I have used a lot of hand creams, but I must say I have loved using this one from balance Me. In fact I have almost finished this 30ml tube. This award winning product is said to be ultra effective and seriously moisturising and it really is. Our hands take on a lot of work each day and so we need to take care of them.

Sometimes when I have been cleaning, washing my hands a lot or attempting DIY for instance my hands get really dry. When I began using this cream I noticed the difference in the way my hands felt instantly. This cream is thick and although it does leave an almost barrier to protect your hands they do not feel greasy. The more and more I have been using this the softer my hands feel.

This is meant to be good for any dry patches on the body too. I would love it if this came in a larger pump bottle for using on both hands and the body.

An aspect that I adore about this product also is the scent. It is so relaxing and stays on my hands even after washing. I will be very sad when this runs out as it has been a pleasure to use. I have a few of my friends at work loving it too.

You can purchase this product here

30ml ~ £7.50

50ml ~ £10.00

100ml ~ £14.50

A great repairing and soothing hand cream that I would certainly recommend.

If you have this mini hand cream or pick some up why not have some fun with it. Simply snap a photo of the cream on your travels absolutely anywhere and share on the balance Me. facebook or twitter. Each week a winner will be chosen to receive some balance Me. goodies :)

Also a limited edition gold box is now available for this product, ready for the festive Christmas season.

What are your favourite balance Me. products and why? Let me know in the comments below.

Facial Skincare: Balance Me And Soap & Glory

Hello lovelies. I hope you are doing great as always. Today I wanted to do a mini review of two facial skincare products I have tried out recently.

Left: balance Me. daily essentials cleanse and smooth face balm, £4.00 for 15ml or £20.00 for 125ml

I received this product in my April JolieBox last year where you can see my first impressions. This product is aimed at normal to dry/sensitive skins. I have used this with and without a muslin cloth in the shower. I do love the scent of it. It's very natural and soothing. There are fine granules of oatmeal in it, so nothing harsh at all. This is a 100% natural oil-based cleansing balm. It feels nice to apply and I think sensitive skins may appreciate this because it feels comfortable on the skin. I would however say that it comes out average in the cleansing balms I have tried out so far. It has lasted for many uses though.

Right: Soap & Glory Make Yourself Youthful Rejuvenating Face Serum, £16.00 for 46ml or $28.99

I am a fan already of Soap & Glory products so I thought why not give this serum a try. This product is an Anti-Ageing Beauty Bible Award Winner. It is said to help re-energise tired skin, smooth surface imperfections, refine pores, recalibrate uneven skin tone, brighten, tone and tighten, while acting as a light-medium nightly moisturiser.

I like the pump design of this product as just enough serum is dispensed out and the packaging itself I find very appealing as it looks youthful like the product portrays itself to be. This bottle has lasted ages and I do like how it feels on my skin, but then I like the texture of pretty much all serums. It's creamy and smooth and feels light. It does give my skin a nice glow, but once my make-up is applied that gets covered up so I only really get the benefit of that when I am at home with no make-up on. Because of it's brightening effect it does make me feel glowy and rejuvenated, if not a little more youthful. It does feel smooth on my skin however I wouldn't say it smooths over imperfections. My skin tone and pores do not look dramatically different and I don't feel any toning or tightening effect. Again I think this is a nice product as in it's an average out of the face serums I have tested.

What are your favourite facial skincare products? Any from balance Me. or Soap & Glory? Let me know in the comments below.

September 2012 GlossyBox: Illustrated By Maggie Li

Hi Everyone, I hope you are all doing great. Today I have the products from my September 2012 GlossyBox to show you. This limited edition box has been designed by London-based up-and-coming illustrator Maggie Li.

Lady Gaga Fame Black Fluid Fragrance, £25.00 for 30ml, £32.00 for 50ml & £61.00 for 100ml

Inspired by the artist’s statement “If you don’t have any shadows, you’re not standing in the light".  First of its kind, the black-to-clear perfume is an innovation in fluid technology.

I was really excited to see this fragrance in my GlossyBox. Some may say Lady Gaga is weird, odd or too out there, but I find her intriguing. This smells very seductive as I expected, but very wearable. It comes across as dark, warm and sexy. I only found a hint of black when spraying mine that went clear.

Left: Rodial Glamoxy Snake Serum, £29.00 for 10 x 1ml

Gives a mild freeze-like effect supporting the reduction of visible facial contractions. Liposomes work to fill lines instantly and a ground-breaking oxygen carrier boosts glow and radiance for fresher looking skin with a 3D plumping effect.

I will give this a try, but I am a bit worried about the freeze-like effect as I don't want to look like I've had plastic surgery. This is so expensive at £125 for 50ml, but it you like it you might think it's worth it.

Right: Rodial 5 Minute Facial, £10.95 for 10 x 1ml

The 5 minute Facial is a lifting and decongesting mask that targets age spots and helps reduce the appearance of fine lines by stimulating the skin’s natural collagen.

I hardly ever use face masks because I just forget to. I will try these out.

Left: Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream, £20 for 15ml

For soothing tired eyes, smoothing away dark shadows and reducing the appearance of fine lines.

I have already reviewed this product in my July 2012 Empties post here

Right: Olay Regenerist Wrinkle Relaxing Complex, £29.99 for 50ml

This advanced optical micro-filler blend helps eliminate shadowing and reflection so the appearance of lines and wrinkles is significantly diminished - in an instant.

I will give this a try. I'm always up for trying out new skin care.

L'Oreal Professional Mythic Oil Milk

Conditioning for fine to normal hair.

I like the bottle this comes in. It looks classy and expensive. My bottle says for all hair types, but I thought this was aimed at fine to normal hair?

Left To Right: L'Oreal Shampoo & Conditioner

NEW Mythic Oil Shampoo: refreshing cleansing experience, leaves hair feeling tamed, manageable and looking shiny.

NEW Mythic Oil Conditioner: creamy texture nourishes the hair to leave it feeling silky smooth and soft to the touch.

These sachets also say for all hair types. For information on all of these L'Oreal Mythic Oil products please check out this link. £15.95 for 125 ml.

So that's it my loves. I think this is a good box. It is a shame that I have the Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream as I have already tried it.

For more information on the UK GlossyBox click here and for the US GlossyBox click here.

Have you received a September GlossyBox? If so, were you impressed by the products inside?

Love to you all

April 2012 JolieBox

Hey Everyone. I hope you are all having a glorious weekend. Today I want to show you the contents of my April JolieBox and my initial thoughts of the products. This month's box is named 'The Changing Of The Seasons'.

Left To Right:

Balance Me Daily Essentials Cleanse and Smooth Face Balm ~ £20.00 For 125ml/£4.00 For 15ml

The Information:

Cleanse and smooth face balm is a daily must-have for its dual cleansing and smoothing action to enhance your skin’s natural radiance. Anti-oxidant rich Arctic cloudberry, gentle Roman chamomile and skin-brightening red mandarin smooth away daily grime and make-up leaving skin soft, radiant and calmly clean. Gently polishing oatmeal sloughs away dead skin cells and encourages cell renewal. Shea and cocoa butter, softening rosehip, camellia, kukui nut and virgin coconut oils, rich in essential fatty acids, vitamins and lipids provide a layer of skin-boosting goodness which benefits both young and more mature skins. This balm is recommended for normal to dry/sensitive skins but it also works very effectively on all skin types.

Application:

Warm a small amount of balm in clean hands. Smooth over face and neck, gently massaging the balm with your finger tips in circular movements, allowing the oats to polish the skin for at least 30 seconds. Apply warm water and continue massaging for a further 30 seconds. Close eyes and wipe carefully over lids and eye lashes, avoiding direct contact with eyes. Wet a muslin cloth with warm water and remove balm residue from your skin. Pat skin dry then apply moisture-rich face cream or radiance face oil.

Ingredients:

Prunus amygdalus dulcis (sweet almond) oil, Colloidal oatmeal, Cera alba (unrefined beeswax), Mangifera indica (mango) seed butter, Butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter***, Theobroma cacao (cocoa) butter, Polyglyceryl-4 caprate, Oleic/Linoleic/Linolenic polyglycerides, Hydroxystearic/Linolenic/Oleic polyglycerides, Rubus chamaemorus (cloudberry) seed extract, Cocos nucifera (virgin coconut) oil***, Aleurites moluccana (kukui) oil, Rosa canina (rosehip) fruit oil, Camellia oleifera (camellia) oil, Citrus reticulata (mandarin red)*, Litsea cubeba (litsea may chang)*, Citrus aurantium amara (petitgrain)*, Anthemis nobilis (Roman chamomile)*, Cananga odorata (ylang ylang)*, Coriandrum sativum (coriander)*, Tocopherol (vitamin E), Rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) extract, Limonene**, Linalool**, Citral *natural pure essential oil **naturally occurring in essential oils ***certified organic ingredient.

My Thoughts:

This product feels smooth on swatching. This is a liquid-gel formula with a citrus scent. I think this will be quite refreshing to use. I haven't used this type of liquid/gel wash off cleanser/make-up remover before so I am looking forward to seeing if I like it. The information for this product is not on the JolieBox website yet.

Tropic Skincare Skin Revive ~ £15.95

The Information:

It’s suitable for all skin types and contains gorgeous and organic ingredients. Bursting with vitamins and pure plant actives that help to visibly firm and intensely nourish the skin. The Shea Butter softens and hydrates the skin whilst blueberry is used to revitalise and rejuvenated. The Echinacea and Sea Kelp improve elasticity and help smooth fine lines.

Application:

My Thoughts:

I am not sure about the smell of this, but it does smooth into the skin very easily. I wasn't too sure if this was for my face or body before looking up the information on the JolieBox website as it wasn't clear on the information card. I will give this a try.

Pure Fiji Exotic Bath and Body Oil ~ £24.50 For 235ml/8oz

The Information:

For centuries Pacific islanders have used a blend of virgin coconut oil and exotic nut extracts to moisturize, nourish and protect both skin and hair. This nourishing blend absorbs quickly and will rejuvenate, replenish, hydrate, nourish and firm your skin.

Application:

Use as a massage oil, bath oil or daily moisturizing treatment.

My Thoughts:

Another multi-tasker which I love the idea of. This product can be used on the body, hair and scalp. Coconut fans will absolutely love this scent. It smells gorgeous, just like an exotic holiday in a bottle. It sinks into the skin instantly and is not at all greasy like some oils can be. The product information for this is not yet on the JolieBox website.

BellaPierre Black Mascara ~ £19.99

The Information:

Bellapierre long lasting black mascara was formulated to help create thicker and fuller lashes.

Application:

Apply the mascara to the upper lashes first. Take the brush and hold it underneath the top lashes close to the roots and sweep brush upwards from roots to tips. Apply a few coats to build your lashes to the desired volume. For bottom lashes, use the tip of the brush to apply a thin coat of mascara in delicate strokes.

Ingredients:

Water, Iron Oxides CI 77489, 77491, 77492, 77499, Polyisobutene, Acrylates/ Octylacrylamide Copolymer, Butylene Glycol, Glyceryl Stearate, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Peg-100 Stearate, Copernica Cerfera (Carnauba) Wax, Hexylene Glycol, Caprylyl Glycol, Phenoxyethanol Potassium Hydroxide, Sodium Polyacrylate, Cholesterol C12-13, Iso-Alkylate and Olea (Olive) Europaea Oil Unsaponisiables Silk Powder.

My Thoughts:

A mascara is always handy. It's nice that it's a full size product. I love finding a great mascara so lets hope it is for £19.99. I do like the packaging. It's simple and chic. This was not on the JolieBox website either.

KMS California ~ £Various

The Information:

Flexible shaping and elastic hold. Unlimited, protective heat styling without the damage. Styles last until the next wash. Humidity resistance. Restyleability. Anti-breakage.

Application:

Spray into towel-dried hair, blow dry and shape with hot tools. For maximum shaping, spray section by section.

My Thoughts:

I could not find this on the JolieBox website and when I looked on the KMS California website there was product information, but I could not find a price so I have added a Google search link above. I guess this product is meant to work for people that wash their hair every other day, but may style it with hot tools every day. It's good if it works, but I'm not the best tester for this as I only blow dry my hair.

So now onto the 2nd issue of the JOLIEMAG.

There is a variety of goodness in this month's magazine including interviews, April Pastels, Contour and Highlighting Tips, Spring Trends and Flawless Face Tips. There is also a discount code for boticca.com.

I will use all of the products in this month's box, but the ones I am most looking forward to trying are the Balance Me Daily Essentials Cleanse and Smooth Face Balm, the Pure Fiji Exotic Bath and Body Oil and the BellaPierre Black Mascara.
